Great video Simon. For me, it's not trying to do everything yo have on your To Do List that day. Focus only on the top 2 or 3 priorities. Secondly, not a thing that I have removed, but more about adding, I check in with myself through the day, to see how I am doing, where am I at, how I am feeling (perspective/reflection), and ask if I need anything to change/add/remove.

My recent changes have made big impacts in my life. I threw away the microwave. I ruck 5 miles with a 40 lb plate every morning to earn my breakfast. I jump rope for 15 min a day and kettle bell exercises for 30 min. I didn’t know it but I have a gluten intolerance. Realizing this I was able to get off two prescriptions. I do not eat processed foods. I still enjoy a glass or two of wine on the weekends but the weekend binge drinking is done. I sleep from 9:30pm-5:30am and consistently have 6-7 hrs REM mode. I read a book a week. My TV is now a stranger. I limit myself to one hour of YT a day and it’s for education use only. I don’t argue politics with anyone, let alone strangers online. I’ve reestablished a friendship with my little brother. Life is good.

All the negativity and voices from others told me not to do it, it's too dangerous etc. I felt something within that was saying if I didn't do it I would always regret NOT doing it. I went away from the negative people and I planned it out and I DID IT! At 64 I rode all the way to the west coast and it wasn't the destination but the journey that was so fulfilling. Diane ,Thank you for this, it’s like I just exhaled the first time in a while,AHHHH!
Crazy busy life, I’m in a constant spin, caring for three sick family members, whilst other family members look away, and pretend that they don’t see what’s going on,I definitely stay away from the negativity, the truth is that life is short and it’s inevitable we don’t have much time. I am completely Blessed to do what I do, I jump in feet first, and don’t look back. Thankfully we all have the same Dr & we can all get our appointments done at the same time if need be.I have to make time for myself, which I never used to do, ( I must remember myself). I retired early, and had a career in long term care, so I’m happy that I have the skills I need to keep things going.
We have ups and downs, but for the most part we have lots of FUN together! 🇬🇧🇨🇦🌺🌺🙏🧘‍♀️Cuddles from Canada. M

I still have 2 sizes I want to lose, but I'm already feeling more myself as I'm closer to what used to be my baseline weight. Call it decluttering fat. Lol.
But two unexpected bonuses from getting off sugar were: I stopped wanting fast food, and after about a month of being off sugar, the pain in my feet (plantar fasciitis) went away, and I get much less random joint pain everywhere, which I had previously attributed to just being a symptom of being over 40.

Hi, Simon, thank you for sharing! Good points, I wrote them down! What I quit over the years and never regret: smoking, drinking alcohol, eating meat, company of people with 'bad vibes'. What I ADDED on a daily basis: fresh fruit and veggies, moving/dancing, reading/learning, singing, knitting/crocheting, gardening, watching the clouds, taking pictures of the beauty of nature and share them with others, who are like minded. On a WEEKLY basis I added painting, playing guitar and recently Ukulele, nice company and a new language: Chinese (my husband and I love to learn new ones). At the age of almost 70 I’m thinking more about clutter … I don’t want to store more than I need, but it’s difficult with a lot of interests. I’ll follow you for inspiration😁. Love from Germany, Monika❣

Yes! yes! yes! I gave up meat at 20, alcohol at 36, and smoking shortly after that. After losing my job during the pandemic I found a way to not go back to dead end jobs I used to think were all I could do. Now I volunteer as a delivery driver to take free food to a women's shelter and feel good about my contribution. Oh, I forget to mention what i consciously gave up that actually saved my life: Choosing damaged men to fall in love with who would go on to abuse me. I only allow loving and kind men in my life now. I know my worth and believe in myself. Things I am working on letting go of now: clutter in my home, excess food waste, over spending, and procrastinating.

    1. Never put off things that could be done today so you don’t carry that burden into tomorrow.
    2. Strive to do what excites you to keep you vibrating at a high level.
    3. What you put out is what you get back. Put out positivity and people will reflect your positivity back to you and you will in the flow of synchronicity.
    4. Be yourself. You all have your own signature vibration and frequency, just be yourself, it’s too much work, too complicated to be an actor.

They never ask how you’re doing because they have become accustomed to me doing things for them.
I am not going to change who I am to people but I now know who the usual suspects are and am comfortable with setting boundaries no matter who they are.

@@captjc Yes, rarely. 90% of my work on the internet is research for material on my websites. This video was posted on my recommended column, and I decided to listen to what the gentleman said, and gave this comment. The videos I watch are very selective-and I use ad-blockers. I filter my viewing a great deal. This will be my only reply to this comment, from anyone else.

The applying more action and not getting stuck in analysis paralysis really resonates with me and has helped me grow my side business and keeping the momentum going is key.

Seeing this video affirms me. Thank you 🙏 I quit nursing school 2 months ago due to financial and health constraints. I felt directionless. But recently, I brought myself to a journey of setting myself up for the best. I have been doing daily yoga, pilates, and I have quit sugar, dairy, and gluten and only opt for eating whole, unprocessed foods. And I never felt this beautiful and healthy in my life. I also donated many of my things that I dont use, i switch to minimal skincare, haircare etc. and that made such a difference to my previously unwise spending habits. Now I’m in the process of being a flight attendant. I do not regret quitting nursing school, knowing if I become a RN, it would have not fit in the lifestyle I dreamed of living 5 years from now :)
I always keep in mind, my daily habits will determine who I will be in the future.

Hi! I just discovered your channel.
"Taking responsiblity is harder. Don't be allergic to personal responsibility, because only when you take full ownership of where you are and where you want to be, can life really begin."
Words of Wisdom! I see you also take notes from stoicism.
I'm at the crossroads of my life now. I gotta quit the alcohol and the nicotine chewing gum and get my body in shape, so I can have my life back! Maybe drink only on the celebration occations, and leave it at that!
Seems that you, Simon Alexander Ong, have lots of wisdom and have it together. Stay humble in your path! I wish you well!
    Best regards,
    Alex

Thank you Alex for the kind words and support! And a small suggestion if I may… change “gotta” to “must” and notice the difference in how that feels 😊

@@simonalexandero I appreciate that you replied to my comment! I see you reply to (almost?) everyone. Keep doing that, if you wish (not every channel's speaker is doing what you do). It helps keeping connected to the audience, though.
I liked that you even replied humbly to the sceptic comment after my comment, saying it's something you would dig into more in future videos (about how by shear force of will and choice, you started doing differently).
Yes, it's a MUST that I must quit those things.
I realized, that one must keep in mind the possible benefits of the good changes in life ALL THE TIME.
When the excusing mind set comes in (saying it's okay if I just keep getting drunk all the time), I just need to focus on what's good in my life's changing decisions.
I thought about writing it down, to differentiate the positive reasons/outcomes and the negative reasons/outcomes in my life - if I decide to stick with my plan to quit or not to quit.
What are your thoughts about this, Simon, to make a good change in life a permanent thing?

@@Alex-i6b6g what makes it easier to stick to something is to connect with your future self, e.g. get clear on the identity of the person you would like to become and then operate from that future self in the present. So if your future self is living a healthy life well into their senior years what choices must you be making today for that to happen. For when the vision is magnetic and compelling, the choices in the present become clear ❤️

@@simonalexandero I'm familiar with the concept of the future self, especially, of making my future self proud!
Thank you for reminding me (I had almost forgotten it), it's such an important concept!
Another concept that I had discovered, that had an huge impact on me, is that we all must suffer either of the two choices: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. I'd rather choose the pain of discipline, than the pain of regret.
