That is fucking sick! I'm coming from having a 73 Ford Bronco and cut fenders with aftermarket fender flares I wish someone made fender flares like Bronco venders.
I came from Jeeps and I’m loving this Tacoma. I wish we had the large boulder terrain out here like out West, to use the tacobox to its potential, but this new park we went to could be it once it’s dry! Thanks for watching
I love the look! I don’t think so. There’s quite a bit of clearance and the engine bay metal is below that. I haven’t seen anyone have to clearance that area at all, it’s mainly towards the floor board area
Dang, looks really good. Any issues with not having the plastic in the wheel well? I am planning on cutting 2.5 inches off the fenders to start with and don't really know how not having the plastic in there affects anything. Have you noticed anything that makes you want to fabricate inner fender liners?
Thanks! Only thing is it takes a little while longer to clean it. I don’t like mud anyway so I try and stay out of it if possible. I will make something just to close the gap between the fender and body- tends to throw dirt and stuff between fenders and door. Just a few more minutes to clean that area. Other than that it’s fine to me. The not rubbing fenders and being pretty much ready for 37s is great!
@tacomadad Have you been able to find parts or adapted anything to your inside wells to help block dirt/mud yet? I like the exterior look of this a lot, makes it look cleaner. However I’m not very fond of the way you can see the guts a lot more and all the stuff that probably hits in between the door and the cabin
I have not done anything yet. I plan on it but I’ll just use some hard plastic and fasten it to the inside of the well and just use a flexible piece of rubber at the fender. It’ll seal up most of wheel well. Just need to find time to do that lol
This looks great! Have you noticed any negative effects by not having the fender liner? I have a snorkel so I’m not concerned about the air intake. I figured I’d just paint and/or rhino line the interior of the fender so that nothing rusts.
No negatives other than having to keep it clean more. Since the hinges of the doors are exposed I just rinse it off after every wheeling trip. I’ll eventually make something work as a fender liner. Thanks for watching!
I bought it off amazon and can’t find the link anymore. Just looked up fender edge trim and used the stuff that had a 1/8” pinch and it has metal inside the rubber to hold it better
Man you deztroyed that truck..you could had done a 3" or more of a body lift to fit some way larger tires guess you can always buy new fenders front & back if you ever wanted to go back to the original body look.
Destroyed it by cutting some metal? By all means your entitled to your opinion... 3” body lift though? 😬 One fender already has a giant hole in it from the snorkel. So if I planned on returning it to stock, which I don’t, I’d need new a new fender on passenger side anyway. If this is destroying it, you haven’t seen the new bed then 😂
Wow, I never thought I would like how it looks without fenders! looks badass.
I was thinking that too! Thanks for watching’
Looks really good! Your the only dude I like that didn’t put flares on after! Might do this to my Dakota!
Thanks! Appreciate ya watching.
Yeah Im honestly 50/50 on flares. I like them but they get in the way on the trails. Go for it!
Making it look simple, thanks for the details.
Thanks! I haven’t seen you on here in a while, thank again for watching!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! Hope it helps
making me want to sell my jl and build a taco. Love the whole Marlin crawler build.

@@TacomaDad if you ever make it down to California, hit me up so we can do the Rubicon Trail together! only live about an hour n half away.
I would love to! That’s almost the other side of the world for me 😂 you guys out west get all the awesome terrain
@@TacomaDad Thats true, but the politics and house prices make you want to leave 😂
I would only drive through lol I’ve heard the stories!
You are one Brave Man.
It’s not so bad! Cutting is a better solution than bending them from larger tires lol!
Thanks for watching!
Nice man I think this will be pretty sick when your done.
Thanks! I’m hoping it will 🤘🏻
Looks good! Is the snorkel tube inside the fender gonna be an issue with the 37s?
I love the look! I don’t think so. There’s quite a bit of clearance and the engine bay metal is below that. I haven’t seen anyone have to clearance that area at all, it’s mainly towards the floor board area
@@TacomaDad Do you think you can get away without cutting into the firewall?
I highly doubt it but I’m not gonna know for sure until I get the new tires mounted. If I do that won’t be too bad. We’ll see!
Yes! I love it!
Thanks for watching!
Wow it looks soooo good as it sits now. I may be interested in buying your old wheels/tires when you get the new ones. Are your Kenda tires E load?
They are D load. My buddy actually called dibs on them when I do switch. They are pretty cheap new though!

If I don’t have a snorkel what would a good work around be for keeping dirt and debris out of the air box?
I think making some sort of inner fender liner or even a prefilter for the intake through the fender

hi. my friend what lift suspension is that ? . 3 inches or 2.5?
It is roughly 2.5” of lift

Makes sense. Do you have any pictures from the side that show the entire length or the truck and both fenders at the same time? Thanks!
If you check out my Instagram, Tacomadad18 you can see side shots on there.
@@TacomaDad Will do, thanks!
What kind of edge trim did you use, brand and size.
I bought it off amazon and can’t find the link anymore. Just looked up fender edge trim and used the stuff that had a 1/8” pinch and it has metal inside the rubber to hold it better
I love it, but I don’t want a dorky snorky
Not everyone loves them but that’s alright!
Where did you find the rubber edge trim?
It came from autozone. Crowleys automotive the larger U shape style. Comes in 8ft sections
What edge trim are you using?
The edge trim is from Autozone. Cowles custom part number #S37203. It comes as an 8ft section and is the large U shape style.
You destroyed your truck all for bigger tires?
Yes
Dude wash your truck.... Awesome mods though. 👍
Haha, it’s hard to keep clean!
Viper cut im okay with cutting fenders on my truck im good 😂
It’s definitely not for everyone!
How do you figure these things out? Google ? Looks nice honey.
Well not google! I know of a company who did it a while ago and decided I needed to do it my self! Thanks Carol
Might be functional but, it doesn’t look better IMO. Nice workmanship though.
Lots of people don’t love it, but it is your opinion and all good!
😬🤦🏽♂️
Wow it's dirty under there.lol So ya think you need bigger tires? Boys and their toys
Bigger tires coming soon!
😂v😮
