Definitely a little beastie and really if you want a single slot LP card that’s about your lot in performance 😅 Cheers and thanks for the comment mate 🙏🏼
Good video mate! Can't wait to see what the RX 6400 can do, a shame not more RUclipsrs are talking about it as for a drop in upgrade to an aging Dell or Lenovo PC it looks a decent option.
Personally I think it’s a brilliant little card, I get slated on my discord because of it 🤣 definitely has its uses and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the results, cheers for the comment 🙏🏼
I have literally sold the same looking R5 340X few weeks ago for about 15 pounds, and I ve originally bought it for 17 pounds. Didnt even use it since I had no use case for it, and now seeing it in this video I m starting to miss it already :(
Bad times! Well you now know how it performs at least 😅 Good little card tbh for what it cost, would make a great windows XP/retro gaming GPU. Nice to see it had fairly recent driver support as well. Always nice too here from you as well Antonio 🙏🏼
Thanks mate, it’s funny as I remember the R5 240 being a lot better but that was a while ago now 😅 things move on fast! With what I’ve tested so far the 6400 is a little beast for what it is 🙏🏼
I have this exact RX 6400 in one of my systems. Gets a little toasty after hours of gaming. But you aren't going to find anything near its price, that competes with it for single slot LP builds. Even in PCIe 3.0 mode. As you doubtless know based on your replies here. Most of the terrible numbers it throws up, are because the tester used settings that exceeded the frame buffer. Digging the content Andy. You are already getting better with the camera work, and choices for B roll. A loyal viewer's observation: You can sound a little monotone and disinterested at times. I don't mind it at all, but it'd probably be advisable to do a bit more acting. For example: Laughing about what the X stands for was the most seemingly natural moment you had in this one. You don't have to be a spaz like Linus, but being more animated wouldn't hurt for broader appeal. Then again, armchairing it is a lot easier than doing it. I'll sod off now. 🤐
Haha yes it’s hard to read a script sometimes and sound natural, being dyslexic doesn’t help also, I’m not a natural speaker or very good communicator 😅 hence why I like PC’s I think! Need to get in the flow more and appreciate the feedback. I’m honestly loving the 6400 so far, it clearly has its limitations which keep in mind is a great little gpu for sff systems like these old Dell and HPs. Yes mine hits about 85c after a while and one pasted it with some decent stuff 😅
Nice little find. I've just recently finished a build with an i5-6500 in it, and it's got more to give. I had a standard sized case so I was able to swap the case and put in a 1060 3gb. It'll be interesting to see how you system deals with the 6400 and whether the 4 pcie lane connection has any issue or whether a CPU bottleneck will happen first.
Yeah it’s just a strange platform 6/7th gen! The i7’s cost what a used 10100f does, no v4/v5 Xeon support which is just a total bummer and it’s just not worth buying for an i5 for a custom build. Well unless it’s super cheap, that why I love playing around with these OEMs. Just on my holidays at the moment but looking forward to the follow up when I get back 😁
2:40 you can easily get the sata power splitter to get another drive connected. as long as you have another sata port obviously, but i think there's two in this one if i seen correctly
Thanks for the comment, I actually brought two and about a week later I picked up a 3050 with an i5 7500 for £50 but I was halfway through the video 🤦🏽 still a good buy I think for £65 🙏🏼
Hello, I recently upgraded to DDR3 12800 8gb 1600mhz hyperx memories, but it doesn't recognize it, it blinks 2 times amber and 7 times amber, I saw that it's a memory problem. I tested it on another Dell PC and it works
@@andystech101 That's it, I did the following, I bought DDR3L memories and now it's working, good thing the seller was understandable about my situation and offered a refund, as he didn't have the specific model of my card
@@andystech101 Thanks!I would record horror games. And Counter Strike Global Offensive.Rx580 supports Ultra graphics if i am right so i think it will be good.
Yes you’ll be fine with an RX6400 and i5 6500. If you can try and find an i7 6700/6700T as you’ll have a lot better experience and is well worth the £20/£30 more.
Just bought one of these off eBay for £60 with 8GB ram and a 480GB SSD. Only an i3 6100 and integrated graphics though. To be fair, I've only bought it to browse the web in a shed I'm converting into a den, so it should do the job. Would I need to swap out the motherboard if I wanted to upgrade to a 6500 or do they use the same socket set? Edit: Just had a look and they do use the same socket set. Not sure if I'll even need to upgrade because I've just watched a video demonstrating what the 6100 can do and it seems more than adequate. Feel like I've bagged a bargain picking this PC up for £60.
🤟Is that nail varnish on your thumb left over from the weekend??, will be interesting to see if the RX 6400 bottlenecks running in pcie 3.0 or will it be 2.0? and the CPU not supporting Gen 4, apparently, it can lose up to 35% performance in some games, I await with bated breath
Don't forget the main reviews of the 6400 would have been testing it with unrealistic CPU combinations such as a i9-13900k to remove CPU bottleneck. With a i5-6400 and playing top end games at medium/high settings rather than ultra will close the gap. We may even see no difference if the i5-6400 gives us a CPU bottleneck. I'm looking forward to seeimg how this combo performs. I put my money on a CPU bottleneck as my i5-6500 had high CPU usage with just a gtx 1060 3gb in many games. In e-sport games it'll give very high average FPS.
Hi I am looking at purchasing the same computer I do not know much about computers and I am looking at getting into some light pc gaming , can you recommend a graphics card I could purchase in uk used for up to £50 to pair with this thank you
Personally I’d try and go with a MT/Mini tower case as you’ll have a lot more options over the SSF units like this. Try and find an i7 if you can or a later 8th gen i5 8500/8400. GPU wise a GTX1650/1050ti or RX560/460 4GB will work with the stock PSU so just plug and play. If you want to get little creative and use a Sata to 8/6pin PCIe power adapter then a GTX1060 3/6GB will do the job nicely. Hope that helps
@@andystech101 thanks for the reply! I managed to get this exact pc for 48 pound with 90 days warranty seemed like a bit of a no brainer and got a GeForce 1030 as you mentioned in the video for £25, I will see how it goes and potentially look at re selling and going the route you mentioned if I enjoy it
Hi mate, can’t say from experience but I’d say it would run it fine! I need to extend my games library as there’s loads you can play on a budget little pc likes this, I do though like to keep the benchmarks to 5/6 games if I can 😅
The RX6400, for all its faults, has been proving to be a solid little beastie.
Looking forward to that one :)

I just got a Dell Optiplex 3040 sff for $40. I put an AMD Radeon R5 430 in it(purchased for $13 USD). Loving the budget build so far!
Awesome stuff 😎
Nice for the Price 🎉
