- EEVEE Tank physics animation.
Tried the new realtime engine in Blenders experimental Build.
What do you think?

You must've put about 50 tons of work into this!
more like 15 tons
@@necaton Maybe, but that would be a really light tank. (I'm pretty sure this one's an MBT)
Hey man amazing model and physics, congratulations, it behaves like a real one
thanks, glad you liked it!
its gread
but i doubt a tank would operate in tht place
This is really satisfying to watch.
eevee looks amazing! Can't wait to create my first animation with eevee
this is really amazing!! i've tried to make to make something similar but the tracks do not move the way they should be (not realistic=like yours) as they should be. If you could be kind and please make a tutorial thank you.
Its seen very great!
nice work!
Great content
NEat stuff :)
saludos desde costa rica ya me suscribi q bueno saludos
epic
Amazing work! Very impressive. I wonder how you did the antennas move that good :D I am having problem with my Antenna's movement and was curious if you could help me how to make them :D
the antenna is attached to the movement of a "generic spring constraint". Hope this helps
@@MarcelAdamCG Thank you for the reply! I am going to try it out!
It behaves Better then real tanks .
please make a tutorial on those tracks
Hey there, you can watch McGavish's tank track rig tutorial. It resembles my workflow for the most parts.
@@MarcelAdamCG Thanks
it feels like being pushed not moving with an engine
Can you do a tutorial about gun stabilizer?
Same question
WOULD YOU MAKE A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DO THESE PHYSICS? FOR AN ANIMATION !!! POR FAVOR
Can I get your soft copy? I will change the gun with 140mm on it... I just need that hull and turret design
Btw your design is awesome... I appreciate your work
Sure, you can download it on Sketchfab skfb.ly/6XVHN
how long did it take you to tender this with eevee?
It rendered around 2 Frames per minute. But this was 3 years ago. So i think current Eevee could render it a bit faster
This is great, I've done a similar project, you can check it out on my profile but I couldn't get results as good as yours. My suspension seems to stiff and yours is pretty much on point. Could you share any insight on how to achieve that result?
Did you follow a tutorial? I would like to do it as well
In my "Tank Physics 4" video i did a very basic tutorial. However if you are looking for a step by step guide, i recommend you watching the tank physics videos by MC Gavish.
How did make gun stabilizer ?
You need a simple IK Rig, with 3 Bones.
First, the "Turret Bone" as root bone, put it in the center of the turret ring.
Second the "Gun Barrel Bone", which is a child of the Turret Bone. It should originate where your gun barrel's vertical drive is located. You have to disable all rotations, except vertical axis, so that the Gun Barrel Bone can only rotate up and down (Bonus: you can also limit the rotation to a certain positiv and negativ degree, to limit the gun's depression.
And finally third, you need a "Target" IK Bone (this can be Bone inside the Rig, or eg an "Empty" object). For simplicity, i explain it as a third Bone inside the rig. This third Bone has to be child of the root "Gun Barrel Bone", so that it moves and rotates with it. Put that Bone some meters (eg 10 meters) in front of the barrel. Then go to the Bone Solver Tab (in "Pose Mode") and add a "Inverse Kinematics Constraint" to the Gun Barrel Bone. Make the "Target" Bone the Ik Target and set the Chain length to "1". Now you should have a gun stabilizer. If you are unfamiliar with rigging, i recommend you first watching a tutorial about Rigging and IK (Inverse Kinematics).
@@MarcelAdamCG thanks for the fast reply !
@@MarcelAdamCGI was able to get the Ik rig working but am I supposed to parent the armature to the rigid body tank because it doesn't seem to have the actual gun stabilization where it bobs up and down to remain straight as the tank dips
@@bridgeburner9313 yes, the armature needs to be a child of the tanks chassis
@@MarcelAdamCG I was able to figure out how to make my own gun stabilization. Thanks anyways and cool videos
How did you get the dynamic antenna's
With the generic spring constraint. Let me know, if you need further instructions
@@MarcelAdamCG Thanks I think I know what to do
Is Eevee already support rigs?
Not really. The armature modifier is still disabled. Thats why i had to create the rig by using animation constraints only. You can see it by looking at the antennas. I couldn't get them bending. So they are only moving stiff as a whole.
How long did it take to render this scene?
Actually i don't really know because i rendered it over night. But because of the volumetric fog it rendered quite slow for eevee. I would say around 1-2 Frames per minute on a gtx 1070.
Thanks for destroying my dream of this being real time
If it was done in cycles, it would have taken 15 days.
but how????
stupid design with no hull armor
Oh its you again :D What happened to your last comment? I did not delete it.
However, for the sake of the slightest chance, that you are not simply trolling, i will grant you an explanation: The tanks armor design has a technology called "Active Defence System" in mind (it's all those tiny sensors around the hull). This active protection allows fewer hull plating, resulting in an overall lighter tank, but still increasing the effective protection.
@@MarcelAdamCG just look at russian tanks, they have good hull armor + aps. Tanks with good hull armor can fight on flat terrain, peek out of cover and take the shot from enemy and then shot back.
@@MarcelAdamCG lol mobility. Even u fast like a jet u still get shot.
@@MarcelAdamCG a good tank doesnt rely on any hills or houses to cover the weak part and can fight on both terrain. Flat terrain and slope terrain. Leopard 2a4,a5,a6 only good at slope terrain cuz the gun depression and good turret armor, but u fight in city map, it cant cuz the hull is weak and u cant peek out of cover , u cant always rely on objects to cover ur hull. Russian tank they just simply peek out of cover eat ur shell and shot u back, only the gun and tiny little lower plate is weak spot on russian tanks, while the rest nato tanks have entire hull is weakspot.
@@MarcelAdamCG think about putting the ammo behind turret, enemy gonna hit the gun manlet cuz less armor there, and penetrate straight through the front and detonate ammo behind. I saw that scenario alot in Warthunder.
