An AMAZING ride. My childhood came to life in this park, and it was so emotional. Probably the best ride ever because it's everything you hope for and more. Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a fantastic park, and I'm so glad it'll remain there for generations to come.
they really did a stellar job with this, I think this is the only simulation ride where I actually felt like I was moving through the screen. So much fun!! Thanks for uploading this =]
This video has AMAZING quality compared to the others! I went here last year and this video really does catch the ride very good. Thank you so much for posting it!!
wow, this is the most well-lit video of this ride I've found so far (and I've looked at a lot of ride videos) even with the few dark spots! Thanks for posting it!
Honestly one of the best rides I've ever been on. Being a big Harry Potter fan and not so crazy roller coaster rider I wasn't sure what to expect. It was kind of a thrill but completely amazing. The line went slow yet quick but worth the wait. Extremely fun and exceeded my expectations. I felt like I was really riding a broom it was amazing.
I loved this ride so much!! The wait is sooo worth it because the line is always moving and you walk through a good portion of hogwarts and see a lot of stuff in the movies. So every 2 seconds I wud freak out and point to something and yell to everyone around exactly what it was! Thx for the bid! Brought the magic back!
I went on this ride about 4 or 5 times while at universal and it is just absolutely incredible. EVERYTIME the dementors scared me, the spiders made me feel itchy and all the effects were amazing! The whole trip was just worth seeing the wizarding world of harry potter. I definately reccomend going, ESPECIALLY if you are a harry potter fan!
@AmandaKK6 It's a robotic arm attached to the back of a four seater bench. The arm is attached to a moving "carriage that is out of sight as it is below you. It moves at the same speed the entire ride. The rapid movements are due to the movements of the robotic arm which have the capability to turn riders upside down, but this does not happen on the ride. The ride never stops, so you have to get onto a moving platform to get onto the ride.
This is definitely the best recording of the ride....it's just too bad that the dementors are too dark to see. That was one of my favorite parts. Still, thank you for the awesome quality video!
@magicmouse316 This is both a moving ride AND a simulation. You are transported on a conveyor-belt structure, moving sideways [although once the ride begins, it is as if you're actually floating/flying/falling/etc.] This ride is fairly tame for the most part, but it does lean you onto your back [close to a 90 degree angle] and it does lean forward slightly. It is not as intense as a roller coaster, but it does have enough simulation to cause some motion sickness to those who are sensitive.
Most awesome and amazing ride ever!!! Frikin awesome everytime the massive spider come out i screamed coz it looked so realistic n thr sound was incredible n qhen the dragon sprays water thts like fire is awesome the effects look like real crearures
Im not a Harry potter fan but this ride was amazing when we finally got on it. It broke h and we were reaped for an hour but they let us straight back on! I love every moment of it :)
@MonkeyOfConfusion The arm is technically not in a separate room, but at the loading dock, it is hidden from view. There is a space for the arm to pass through, but you can't see it. When Hermione says "1-2-3" and you go through the green mist (Floo Powder), the arm lifts you up and you start the ride from there. The cars do not have projectors on them. The projector domes have their own projectors, however you cannot see them because they are hidden from view above the ride carriages
i LOVED this ride! we went to look at our pic afterwards and the guy was like, "you must be scared of spiders," i definitely am and that's when they take your pic. it looked hilarious!
@dudisguy No, the cars never stop moving. There are several little "projector domes" that or on a moving carousel called a "Lazy Susan" Each car has it's own dome, for that sequence. There are about 6 domes attached to each carousel. They move along with the ride. Any more questions, feel free to ask me
@dudisguy You never stop moving, every car on the ride is connected and every car moves at the same speed, The ride broke down and gave me time to look around. The projected parts, its like 4 circular domes that move as you move, it never stops.
@MoonAlley1 It's a ride where you're strapped on into the Hollywood Rip-Ride Rockit-type seats, and it goes on tracks (I think). It moves you up and down and shakes you occasionally. c:
I just got back from wwohp a week ago. This was probably my favorite ride. The spiders scared the crap outta me but i was most scared or the dementors right up in your face.
Really nice video! This looks scary AF! One question though: Is this like Spiderman? Like the whole concept of how the ride feels? & Also, is this as scary as it looks?
@JessiKilpatrick no its not a rollercaoster. its like a mix of the simpson's ride nd the spider man ride. you dont need 3D glasses, the screens come and go away, you move to different rooms, and NO. it does not flip.
Went there in the summer of '10 and it was fun, although i didn't know a lot about Harry Potter. BUT I DO NOW!! And, btw, i am HIGHLY afraid of things in my face, so when should i close my eyes?
@TwilightsAlice The movements are due to a robotic arm attached to the back of the cars. They are hidden, so you can't see them. If you get motion sickness easily, I recommend not riding this. There are many sharp movements on the ride. They had to stop the ride once already because a lady threw up on herself and her child.
@DaPlant5 The other person didn't answer your question. It doesn't spin. And my brother has motion sickness and he is fine on this ride. It's more like a simulator but it moves through the castle. I don't really know how to describe it, but it doesn't spin or go upside down. You get tipped on your back for a small portion of the ride, but that's about as bad as it gets.
@Oneofakind407 heres few questions, during the part where you get lifted up, while you are being seated, is the arm in a separate room and when you say observatory it picks you up? and do the cars have projectors on them for the part when the simulator is laying you back?
@bracefacehehe How many were their? I know there's Aragog and he's pretty big, but I was told there are others. I'm scared of them to the point of anxiety attacks. Been trying to watch youtube videos to get an idea of if I can handle the ride or not before we spend the money to go. :-)
@JulianneSparrow2 no drops, no loops. not even a roller coaster. you move through like the haunted mansion at disney, but more intense scenes. but again, its not fast, you don't drop. and anything you do "in the air" is actually just on a screen, so you just feel like you are up high, when you're really only about 8 feet.
I made the best choice of my life going to universal over fall break they have officially won me over I never plan on going to Disney over universal! this ride and everything was so incredibly mind blowing I wanna go back so bad!!!!!!
@MonkeyOfConfusion ive been on it ... im pretty sure the claw is always attached and 2 the ride doesnt stay in one place the who time like the simpsons, instead its really like moving when ur away from the screens so when u are lying on ur back u are just looking and like real robot demontors and stuff, not a screen
My brother and I were in the middle during the ride and so be got the full force of the dragon spray! I am lucky I didn't get motion sickness after the ride!
@DionnesVids right? but only its 50 times better than both combined! but it the ride does have tracks and you move to different rooms like spiderman, and its like the simpsons because you dont need 3D glasses ;)
Omg the womping willow was amazing too it look just like the one in the movie n looks like its gnna hit u n when u go inside the chamber of secrets lol precious memories i wanna go bk soooo bad!!
Wow this ride is amazing I felt like I was rite there its an amazingly ride I love itit can't wait go back and I will buy a wand as well I'm going to collect them all
omfg this ride is soooooo intense!!!!! the dementors scared the SHIT out of me!!!! they looked soooo real!!! rode it like 5 times! so much fun!!! cant wait to go back..i just came back home from orlando T.T
@MoonAlley1 I have rode it before amd it does have tracks they are justabove you. its a 4 seater ride and you all sit side by side. That ride was by far the most amzing thing U've been on in my life. I REALLY Reccomend you go!
@Weezer5443 I'm going to Orlando for the very first time in my life with my family, I'm 21, and I was wondering if you recommend this ride for my little sister? she loves the movies, idk if the ride will be of her liking :P
I went today for Birthday and we had to wait an hour and 20 minutes. But it was worth the wait!!! it was freakin' awesome!! I wanted to go again! and sometimes I thought it took you upside down but it maybe didn't. Also only my dad, brother, and I kept putting our feet up because we thought we were gonna hit somethin'
@horse39944 its better than star tours cuz ur in a cart and except u go throguh different rooms and stuff its amazing and whats controlling it is a giant robot on each cart. crazy good
To all the people asking how the ride works: You DO get thrown on your back repeatedly, almost upside down, and the ride moves around a lot. DO NOT EAT ANYTHING right before you get on the ride, especially if you are prone to motion sickness. You may feel sick during the ride, but if you are a die-hard Harry Potter fan like me you have to do at at least once. I highly recommend the use of Sea-Bands.
@ImitationJesus In the queue, the moving portraits and Dumbledore explain that Hogwarts' defenses have been tweaked to allow Muggles to tour the school. That doesn't explain the dementors, but it explains everything else.
Thanks for uploading this =]
Thank u for the only version where I'm not just staring at a black screen!! I loved this ride so much and it's great to relive it!
This video has AMAZING quality compared to the others! I went here last year and this video really does catch the ride very good. Thank you so much for posting it!!
this ride is so loud and terrifying but amazing at the same time
wow, this is the most well-lit video of this ride I've found so far (and I've looked at a lot of ride videos) even with the few dark spots! Thanks for posting it!
OMG i get gooesbumps every time i hear that music playing!! im going to orlando in two weeks EEEEEIIPPPP!!!!!!!! :D

Clearest ride video I've seen so far...finally one I can tolerate!
Thank you so much for adding this video!
It is the best that I've seen so far... awww the memories! :)
One of the most EPIC rides i've ever ridden. I love the dragon and dementors, and the feeling that you're actually flying.
I rode this last summer, and this video best captures the thrill of this ride. I wish I could ride it over and over again, every day!
This ride is FANTASTIC. I can't find the words to describe how friggin wonderful it is !!!
@AmandaKK6 It's a robotic arm attached to the back of a four seater bench. The arm is attached to a moving "carriage that is out of sight as it is below you. This ride is like the most amazing ride ever thought of, even waiting in line was epic, but it did brake down quite often when I went back in April.
My first roller coaster in my life. I had my mouth open in awe for almost the whole ride without realizing.
@MonkeyOfConfusion The arm is technically not in a separate room, but at the loading dock, it is hidden from view. There is a space for the arm to pass through, but you can't see it. Best ride on the planet... hands down. I rode it 11 times on my trip to Universal during opening week.
just got off of it for the 20th time today! love this ride! goin again after we eat at the three broom sticks! long live potter!
this was the best ride i have ever been on. loved it.
i LOVED this ride! we went to look at our pic afterwards and the guy was like, "you must be scared of spiders," i definitely am and that's when they take your pic. it looked hilarious!
Going to Florida on Tuesday (about 5 days)! Can't wait! :D
@dudisguy No, the cars never stop moving. There are several little "projector domes" that or on a moving carousel called a "Lazy Susan" Each car has it's own dome, for that sequence. best video of this ride... anyway do you actually feel the robot arm turning and spinning or are you to focused on what's actually Happening
this ride was thrilling and so scary. i loved every second of it.
@ImitationJesus I'd thought of it as well, especially concerning the dementors. From what I recall, they are invisible to Muggles.
@dudisguy You never stop moving, every car on the ride is connected and every car moves at the same speed, The ride broke down and gave me time to look around. The projected parts, its like 4 circular domes that move as you move, it never stops.

I have been on this 7 times and it is great, anyone who loves harry Potter get to Universal and ride it.
@RaizingArizona it's only called Sorcerer's Stone in the US
WHOA. Dude, your camera rocks. This is quite the video quality. O.O
Best video of this ride on youtube, EVAR!
(At least, untill now)
When I visited Wet N Wild the highlight of my day was seeing Hogwarts castle from the top of a ladder.
@NERDinTHEbox , it doesnt go upside down. You just kinda lay back. Its a fun ride! I dont do rollercoasters but this is a good ride!
best video.. anyway do you actually feel the robot arm Spinning and turning
this ride........WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
BEST RIDE EVER! Was there 2 years ago.. still dream about it! ;D
I LOVE THIS RIDE!!!
@JessiKilpatrick
no its not a rollercaoster. its like a mix of the simpson's ride nd the spider man ride. you dont need 3D glasses, the screens come and go away, you move to different rooms, and NO. it does not flip.

@craigwootton
It's like a mix between a dark ride and a motion simulator. It's a bit like the Spiderman ride, but much more intense.

Just got back from Orlando. The Harry Potter ride is incredible even though it broke down and we got stuck upside down. It was very scary!!!!!

@dtrain4900 aren't they images of the person whose riding the ride faces or something?
I made the best choice of my life going to universal over fall break they have officially won me over I never plan on going to Disney over universal! this ride and everything was so incredibly mind blowing I wanna go back so bad!!!!!!

Man, I went on this about 5 times when i was there! It was the thing I enjoyed the most in the park!
how does this ride work? do you go through abunch of halls with screens or do you just stay still and the seat moves?
i am going to ride this in a week!!!! I am so freaking excited!!!
if i'm not a big fan of rollarcoasters or going upside down will i still enjoy this ride?
@Gleek227 Simulator. The ride is a mechanical arm, I guess its kind of like Spiderman where your moving around.
This ride was AMAZING!
This is easily, EASILY, the single greatest ride on the face of the earth.
@DionnesVids
right? but only its 50 times better than both combined! but it the ride does have tracks and you move to different rooms like spiderman, and its like the simpsons because you dont need 3D glasses ;)
Omg the womping willow was amazing too it look just like the one in the movie n looks like its gnna hit u n when u go inside the chamber of secrets lol precious memories i wanna go bk soooo bad!!
Best ride at Universal....Going back just to do this!
@fanpire62 I suffer from arachnophobia as well, went on the ride about 8 times straight and every single time the spiders part got me lol.
this video is the best full ride video of this ride so far cause all the others makes it to hard to see anything

@moneyspecialistcom Where did you get your camera at?
I went today for Birthday and we had to wait an hour and 20 minutes. But it was worth the wait!!! it was freakin' awesome!! I wanted to go again! and sometimes I thought it took you upside down but it maybe didn't. Also only my dad, brother, and I kept putting our feet up because we thought we were gonna hit somethin'
i glee and all but what does the spoiler link have 2 do with harry potter?
@horse39944 its better than star tours cuz ur in a cart and except u go throguh different rooms and stuff its amazing and whats controlling it is a giant robot on each cart. crazy good

For those of you that are wondering, 1:34 is the flash of the on-ride camera.
Is this an Imax theater or something?
@nileylove61551
if i remember correctly, the giant spider shoots water or something
Doesn't go upside down or in circles but there was two occasions that I counted that you go flat on your back if I remember right
im going there next month!! gonna be so fun, but the props r prob gonna freak me out lol
I loved it! I will miss that park It's the best
@MoonLightHowl1 depends..how old is she?? there are a few parts that may be to scary for her.
Can't wait going in 8 days!!
the most amazing ride I've ever been into :)
is it a "virtual" coaster?
lol this ride totally freaked me out, even more than the scarezones at HHN.
Is it a simulator? or an actual rollercoaster??
@GiGiGoesShopping No problem! I hope you have a great time! :)
@twilightluvr87 You should put that in their suggestion box. "Please create living quarters"
