- On June 16, 2010, Harry Potter film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, James and Oliver Phelps, and Warwick Davis were in attendance for a special celebrity event commemorating the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure theme park.

Harry screaming Expecto Patronum makes me feel so happy and crazy I don't know why it's just my favourite part of the whole series.
It would have been cool if they could've pulled off the "Dark Mark" in the fireworks show. lol
I also think it would be cool if they did that. It would really make it even better !

Man...how I wish I was there and experience that momentous event.I've been a fan of HP since the books as well as the films came out,It has been a wonderful and exciting journey all throughout these years...and its gonna be a bittersweet moment when part 2 of DH comes out.HP has been a huge part of my life,that it would be very difficult to accept that it all ends here.LONG LIVE HP!!!

I'm french and I went there, it's definitivly an AWESOME place! If you can go there, you really HAVE TO go! It's incredible! Oh I would have loved to see the actors, but I went there 2 years after they came :p
When the first lights encircled Hogwarts, and when the first few notes of Hedwig's theme played, my heart leaped.
I would go crazy if I was there..
I cried and swore simultaneously when I watched this video. There are very few things that do that to you, and never before Harry Potter would anyone think it could be a theme park.
The fact that John Williams was there makes it so much more special
I would have given anything to be there at that precise moment, John Williams Live!!!! and all those memories! That's priceless!

as soon as the music started my head filled up with memerioes of Harry Potter and i just remembered all the movies and i just dont want harry potter to end but as the say all good things must come to an end.
2 things:
First, it took ALOT of time and ALOT of fireworks for their spell to work. I mean, magic is great and all but flash-lights would have worked a bit faster.
Second, Did anyone notice that Dan said on the count of one?
everytime I go to Orlando, I literally spend the entire time in that castle. it is absolutely amazing

I also felt sad watching these and the other clips of the park! After all these years anticipating for the next Harry Potter movie to come out, it's a realization that it will be all over soon. And I know they finally filmed the last scene of Harry Potter a couple weeks ago. I really need to visit this park!
It was such a beautiful light show!! I really wish I was there!! (but sadly, I would've been only 2 years old at that time so I wouldn't understand) And the music brings back so many memories....

i walked into the park and i was speechless... its amazingg.
The lights and fireworks in the show were just so magnificent!! It would have been so magical and exciting if I went there..... sadly I can't because I live so freaking far away :(

3:17 gave me some serious goosebumps. The whole video did, but that part was stunning!
OMG I poured a few tears, it was magical, heartwarming, awesome and sad at the same time, that our favorite saga is coming to an end. OK we're gonna have the movies till 2011 but after that? It's been 10 years of magic, adventure, fantasy, laughs and tears... I think I'm gonna cry when the last movie ends.
It i amazing how much detail and effort went into making that all happen. I mean, the theme park - not just the opening presentation. Eeeee. I really want to go. Now. Haha.
I can't believe this. I did this huge gasp and couldn't breath for a moment when Hogwarts suddenly bursted through the shadows, and the same thing happened at "Expecto Patronum!". This touched my heart, it really did, I just can't believe how long it's been and how amazing it is to see this happen - even if it's not live, it's true, this park is like one huge evidence that all of this, the Potter-fandom, have grown so much and the amazing fact that the fandom will live!!

It would have been great to have had it in the UK but lets face it you'd only be able to enjoy it for around 10 days of the year as the weather is so crap here.
Im glad its in Florida, what better place to be and it gives me an excuse to go back to Orlando in September for 2 weeks. I cant bloody wait, Harry Potter World does look amazing!!
call me a softie, but i started tearing up a little around 1:20 when they projected the trio's faces onto the bottom of the castle because i realized how long ago this all was and those first few clips were the beginning of all of this
I got chills and teared up when I watched this..I wanted a letter when I was little and now turning nineteen .I want to go so bad
I loved my trip here the main ride is the best similator i've ever been on and some parts are real. It's nice living in orlando :)

This is amazing , is no chance to dont cry ; You cant compare this with Disneyland , you cant compare Diney stars with Harry Potter stars ; i think that Harry Potter world is where we need to live , because HP world is perfect for me , and for 195,262 people who watched this .

Harry Potter was the book my mother brought me when I was in 6th grade when we didn't have enough money for t.v. It's the reason why I fell in love with reading.
Harry Potter will be parked next to Toy Story in my memory lane.

I want to go here sooo badly! I watched a TV special about it and I literally cried wtih joy that this is a real place. I just need to find friends with enough money to go with me, because I've saved up! I'm ready yesterday lol.
aww i didn't know they were there for the opening. i was there july 1, 2010 we planned the trip then found out the park would be open it was awesome! i felt like i was in the movies. it poured that day so my family and i were hiding out in honeydukes haha good times
Went there this summer, and it's amazing how SMALL this place is. Like, you expect the shops to end up being like the tent Harry & the Weasleys stayed in at the Quiddtich World Cup, small on the outside but magically spacious inside. But each shop is probably smaller than my bedroom with 100+ people crammed inside each one. xD
They definitely over-advertise its scale.

You can tell most of the cast is very appreciative of the fame these movies have brought them. That is except Emma Watson who plays Hermione. She wants nothing to do with the movies and can't wait to wrap up this last one, so she can finally get out of her contract. The coolest part was John Williams and the London symphony orchestra playing the music. I would have gone just for that.

@pukalovesakura harry potter will never come to an end, only if we choose it to. If it still lives in our hearts it will continue to live as well... this brought me to tears though... i just feel awesome and so privileged that I grew up as a part of the harry potter generation.
i went last weekend for "soft opening" but it was all open was the greatest had a blast going tommrow and saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad day- as the camera was panning across all the stars at the end, it cut over to John Williams before it showed Tom Felton (and possibly one or two other people). It still weirds me out how much Tom Felton looks like my cousin.
