You should take more damage when you’re wearing metal armour, since it gets colder. You should also be able to walk across powder snow with frost walker.
The amount of people telling me that frostwalker would be bad because it wouldn’t give enough love for leather armour has forced me to make this edit. Making metal armour( which is literally every armour EXCEPT leather armour btw) take more damage in the powder snow would give leather armour a larger buff, then preventing you from falling through powder snow. Just wanted to add some clarification
the last one is destined for greatness, but it would take away from the one use they are trying to give leather armor, though you would still freeze slower

@@lrdj.j.9591 that would require you to go to a Jungle to get, it'd be impossible in SnowWorlds survivals.
off topic: they should also revamp strays, make them levitate(not fly, just float off the ground) and instead of legs, it should be replaced with particles, makes them look more ghostly and fitting to their clothing
They could change soup entirely. When you make it it comes out as hot soup, then a timer represented by the durability bar will countdown until it turns into cold soup. The freezing timer would only be reset by hot soup while being sped up by the cold soup.
The cold damage in the snapshot is nothing compared to Gelid Cryotheum. Fall into that stuff and you immediately start taking cold damage along with a jump height and movement speed debuffs. Better have a slab or stairs to climb out of the pit with.
Cool updates to add that are related to snow:
-Frostbite books that give weapons the ability to frost effect, the degree of which determined on how high tier the enchantment is.
-drinking soup can slow or stop the frost thing
-Frost immunity with a new potion using a new item called frostbitten rabbits foot (or any other mob drop)
-wearing armor that is not leather can quicken the frost effect prompting players to wear leather gear.
-ravine blanketed with powdered snow to make players extra cautious in a snow biome

They should make it so fire protection slows down the freezing damage. Alike how a thermos can hold a temperature that’s how I imagine fire Protection working, except instead of keeping you cold, protecting you from fire, it now keeps you warm aswell.
@Hydra your probably young so you might not understand this so I’ll explain this.
Insolation is the process of keeping a object a certain temperature on the inside. Like how the hot tea gets colder at the top of the mug because it’s exposed to air and not covered by the mug.
My idea is since fire Protection basically does that with hot things like magma, lava, and fire, it should be a general *insulator* so you take damage in cold situations slower aswell. The reason I think the game should do this is because wearing some of the weakest armour in minecraft all over your body feels like far too much of a danger compared to the past where you only needed one armour slot per new ability.
Examples:
only one gold armour for piglins to be neutral towards you
Turtle shells only take up the helmet and elytras only take up the chestplate.
This way that I’m suggesting allows players to be both well protected and have reduced freezing effect. And if the player wants to stand on the powdered snow then they have to wear leather boots still obviously.
Hey i would like to remind you that you missed one part.. they changed how telescope zoom UI FINALLY HA! wish they would make it more interesting as well

probably because it was not in the change log for some unknown reason
I prefer the old one
@@dre4mwo0d78 me too
@Terminator I like the new one a lot more
I am still hoping they will make a update that will make campfires more applicable. Different colours fire and making the smoke/hot air a feature for the elytra. That if you glide above a campfire, the hot air makes you go up.
with copper, blue fire is definitely possible! i hope coloured fire is a thing they will add.
edited green to say blue because i'm a dumbass, and someone was kind enough to point out my error.
@@pyrobeast_jack Copper gives a blue colour boron is the one which gives green
I just want campfires to not automatically light up when you craft and place them down
@@nikunjchauhan3772 ah thanks, my bad. i always get the two mixed up. :P
Maybe the glow squid will drop something for that
I feel like the freezing damage has alot of potential for example if you stay too long in a cold ocean you should start freezing or when your in any kind of cold biome. The only way to protect yourself from freezing would be wearing wool armor which would protect you fully from the cold, leather armor is clearly a placeholder
Guess they weren't kidding when they said "Snowier Snow", eh?
Hm yes the snow is getting snowier in here
Me: quickly loads 45a to uncraft my copper blocks so that I can make more of them in 46a.
STONKS
and then repeat, and there you killed the expensive stairs
BRILLIANT
@@craftlofer9974 sadly can't go back in versions 😭
Copper
@@XYGamingRemedyG yeah sadly, if there was a way copper would be infinite once you get 4 ingots
I like all of the new textures, except for the lightning rod. Its old, brighter texture was reminiscent of the unoxydated copper block, which I think makes total sense as it's made out of it
The Iceoleger would've been really cool, it could freeze you kinda like how a blaze puts you on fire.
That’s why I’m starting a irl war with the squids
I liked the old texture for the copper ingot better, and I liked the old texture for the amethyst blocks and budding amethyst blocks.
Also, I accidentally found out that the screen when using the spyglass has changed! It makes sense that you missed that since it wasn’t in the change log for some reason, but you should take a look at it.
Thanks for making these videos to keep us updated!
i agree with all this, except the copper. i think it looked too brown before, whereas now it looks more polished and shiny :)
@@nottsninja same
i really hate the new amethyst and bundle textures... way too noisy
@@nottsninja The new copper looks fine, but I feel like the contrast should be lowered a little bit. Looks almost neon now with the darker streak.
@@arackulele3789 I agree kind of. The amethyst blocks definitely too noisy, the bundles are not as bad as the amethyst blocks but it could probably be smoothened out a little bit.
2:23 that frost effect reminds me of Don't starve when the season is winter.
Reminds me of Skysaga, where traveling in the snow at night would cause persistent cold damage without the right gear or shelter. Makes me wonder if they'll eventually add daytime heat damage in the deserts.
Xisuma, what do you use to run the hermitcraft server? ours got corrupted and we cant find a good hosting thing
Powder Snow: gets added
Quicksand in mods: finally a worthy opponent!
Xisuma:*Dying in cold*
Also Xisuma: "I LOVE IT!"
So stuff in bundles can go in shulker boxes. So if you always need just like 16 soul sand and you never have any, you can store it in a bundle instead of having a full slot being used by only a sometime used item.
I never thought Poison IV was a bug. I thought it was fitting considering eating a pufferfish that wasn't prepared correctly can be life threatening
This update so far seems to require a lot of waiting.
Waiting for lightning to strike the lighting rod,
Waiting for copper to weafher,
Waiting cauldrons to fill up with snow,
But it definitely is worth it!
/gamerule randomtickspeed 300
Waiting for the update as well
It’ll all be worth it though!
6:35 i love how Grian says "i wonder lighting rods would be darker" and in the next snapshot his wish came true
The cold effect will open the possibility to do true winter adventure maps, i dont know how it wouls be possible but theres got to be some combination of commands to make it work.
The powder snow effect could be amazing if youre able to control it via an effect or tag like potion effects. Combined with snowy weather, you could make really awesome like snowstorms for adventure maps
Every other ore: uses 9 to make a block
Copper: “I want to be different”
Quartz: "Heeeeey"
Kind of makes sense to me, quartz and copper have limited crafting functions beyond their use as building blocks. Any ore intended primarily for building purposes should use less 'ingots' for block crafting IMHO.
Then X here still seems to complain it's pricey still.
Copper: "I am not like the other girl....ores"
@@zackrose6261 ummm... because It Is???
I know bunnies used to be "useless" as people called them, but now I just want an alternative to rabbit hide when I want to make a bundle.
YES, BUNNIES ARE ANNOYING, WE NEED AN ALTERNATE ITEM
@@molegolm But, those are all really *hard* or really *rare* sources, wouldn't leather be better anyway?
An alternate recipe that used 2 leather would be nice.
@@ninenezumi leatherworker villagers are hardly rare, just make a cauldron and find a village. I don't want it to change I like that they're finding uses for items that have very little point of currently being in the game.
They should add in litters for rabbits to increase the rate of rabbit hide farming then. I don’t want to see the use for rabbit hide go.
you missed the spy glass thing when you soom its not the old circle anymore I just found out now when I were playing
9:03 So im made a survival world in the snapshot and I found a lot of copper ore. There was less copper than iron in the caves but there was still a lot
They should add Blizzard and when entering the snow boimes you start freezing and to avoid dying you use campfires or full leather armor to warmth yourself.
Maybe not as soon as you enter but when its snowing so that your not freezing every second
If that was implemented, I would require a Frost Protection Effect just like Fire Protection.
Have you ever seen an Ice_Lord dying of cold? And use leather all the time would be very limitating, and most importantly, it would be impossible to get a full leather armour at the start of the game if you don't spawn inside a cow·spawn, even then I don't know if you could punch a tree, make a sword, kill a lot of cows and make the armour before dying, considering the effect to start as soon as you're in the biome.
I think they should make that but it can only happen on snowstorms you will starting to get damage a few seconds or minutes if you are wearing leather armor
I think that may get annoying, but during snowstorms would be a great addition
ye
this makes me hope they add "Brine" to frozen oceans, underwater cold-lava dealing tons of freeze damage!
Yea I’ve always wanted something like that!
Yas
@Verserer Gred it’s herobrine with only legs
@@nurchonstore2371 _who needs arms when you have legs like these_
I love all the tiny fixes just as much as the main features! Things like fixing the name for "Lapis Lazuli Block" are so nice.
You should be able to craft wool with leather armor or just armor in general to make it warmer.
In cold biomes you should slowly freeze perhaps different speeds depending on how cold biome is and you’d have to be near something that would warm you up campfire fire Lava as an example.
They could have food that could warm you up maybe they could add drinks to the game that isn’t milk like hot chocolate That would be nice
