Dragonmar it’s actually really helpful. They do it perfectly once they know what it is. It works perfectly because bronze players on defense push mindlessly.
Dude... the crouching before shooting thing actually just blew my mind as a plat 1. That's why I always shoot people in the neck. In dm, I never crouch, and I always hit headshots. It's all making sense now :DDD thanks dragonmar!
I was diamond act 2 but I took a 2 month break. Been struggling to get back out of plat since I got back and this should be a good refresher to help me on my journey. It’s funny cause I knew most these tips but realize I haven’t been implementing them like I used to. See you in immortal soon
i stopped playing in july lol. just got back into it like a week ago and i keep going negative in my plat games. i was plat 3 when i stopped now im struggling between plat 2-3. im doing terrible and dont know why. how are you doing?
Hey everyone, coaching has been a great experience so far and for some of my lower ranked players(plat-below) I wanted to go over 5 of the most common mistakes I've been seeing! I'm live right now working on an Unranked to Immortal series with SAGE ONLY on Twitch at www.twitch.tv/Dragonmar See you there!
Thanks for some great advice man, I'm starting to feel more and more confident, connecting more shots too! Totally loving your videos and advice in general🤘🏼🤘🏼
here’s an even better idea. find a player who has serious potential who is stuck in a lower rank. then, take them under ur wing and coach them into diamond/immortal. Ur fan base would love it and you’d be the first person to ever make content like that. Not only would it increase ur engagement, but it would be the most relatable content you’ll ever make. would be a lot of fun.
Then wait for them to crouch and shoot you while you're moving and then when you finally stop moving when peaking, easily aim at their head that is crouched and kill them. You don't always have to shoot first. When you peak, you can wide swing it and catch them already crouched and shooting at you and already in spray motion. At this point you have a large time frame to adjust your crosshair and aim at their head much more easily.
Thank you so much! I've been hardstuck plat 2 for 2 acts now and after watching this video I carried 3 games in a row as cypher and ranked up to plat 3.
got to plat start of this act. demoted to gold, was stuck there for a while. watched your vids and a bit of work, made it back to plat. time to watch this one
Some other things I notice: - Playing the same defaults every round. Switch up where your utility and sentinels are, especially on defense. If the enemy never pushes C Long, maybe set up your sentinel on a different site or stack somewhere. - Flanking: Not a good idea every round. I've solo queued a lot with flankers that die nearly everytime because they either keep doing it or they have a sentinel setting up flank. It's cool to do it every now and then when they don't expect it, but for the love of God, don't make it habitual every round. - Peeking with a numbers disadvantage: I don't know why this is so common in plat but I always see people playing obvious angles when you're outnumbered. If you get double peeked it's over. Play together and stop giving enemies 1v1's when you have less players already.
I like playing killjoy and setting up my alarmbot right at the entrance of C long because people push into that smoke so many times and then I detonate my nano swarms in it and get a free pick 50% of the time or at the minimum damage them a lot and stop the push
@@Dragonmar totally helpfull. It's just i now understand why some tips go for goldies, and why you keep em separated. It's a lot of info. Sounds easy in theory, but when your hands are on the wheel, it's a lot on your plate so it takes time, and practice :) Thanks for the lesson
the "forcing pushes" thing is true, im in bronze 3 and queued with a "plat" smurf. we had always rotated early on when there was util spam and smokes everywhere on site yet the plat just full-pushed and even if he got pick, he still died in the process
IM TRYING TO TEACH THIS TO MY GOLD FRIENDS BUT THEY WILL NOT LISTEN. ONE OF THEM LISTENED TO MY ADVICE AND RANKED UP FROM BEONZE TO GOLD AND HE XAN GO TO PLAT BUT THE REST OF THEM ARE JUST DIING ALL OF THESE MISTAKES
As someone who left his squad behind in gold-low plat this resonates. It's hard to tell your plat mate on the Neon that they don't have to push into spawn every execute or your gold mate that you don't need a plan at the start of the round let's just see where the round takes us. Actually when I play with high silver- low gold they seem to think defaulting is "we're not playing as a team" as if 5 manning through smokes onto site every round is the strat. Actually most of them think they can only rank up if they 3-5 stack...
I'm at Plat 3 right now. Our team was losing bad but not because of them, but because of me. The entire first half, I only had 1 frag. And 13 deaths. What I noticed was that more than half of the time, I was too scared and kept playing way too passive. I kept shaking and in a near-clutch situation, I panicked and lost my team the round. I was lucky enough to have good diamond teammates who carried me in the game. I still smoked, since I filled and played omen, but I was never able to trade because I was so scared. Don't be scared to push with your team. Trade kills, please, and don't panic. I could've used my ultimate to counter the killjoy ultimate for example, but I panicked and wasn't able to clutch.
Dragon, I think this is by far your best video. The part where you showed the A rush with omen fail. Made me realise all our rushes in silver. We never played spilt.
I've always wondered why so many people despised crouching while shooting and this actually makes so much sense. I'm currently in D2 and I seriously wonder what I do wrong every time I lose a gunfight. My ability to flick or holding an angle to get a kill is better than most people in my lobby. However, peaking angles or initiating a ranged fight always have seen to be my weakness. I realized that I tend to crouch in those situations and like you said, miss my headshot and always ponder why it was a body shot. And since I don't ever crouch when I flick or hold an angle, it seems to be not affecting my aim. This single tip let alone will seriously change my aim and help me get out of diamond, thank you.
Re-peaking is really popular in gold-plat elo for me. I just see a teammate at a site peek long and wide swing out just to die, and I have to fall back from a site to play for retake. There were some tips that seem helpful so thanks!
That's actually the point of sentinels (for me atleast). To hold down site and give ur teammates a window for rotation. Or to let them take care of other angles.
add one more about having a static playstyle or playing the same spot every round. just the idea that they know you can push can alleviate pressure on some angles.
All those are the exact mistakes I do everytime. Hugeeeee thanks for making this video❤❤. Been hardstuck in plat for 4months now. Hopefully will get out of it soon🎯❤.
Thank you so much for helping! With your tips and videos, I somehow managed to rank up from bronze 2 to plat 1 😄. Keep up the good work, I love your videos and your streams!
Thank u I feel this is soo accurate actually. Sometimes it’s difficult to play for retake if you have random mates who want to do their own thing. But I‘ll get there :)
My best friend is around bronze and im plat, what improved my aim A LOT was just taking my time to land a perfect one tap headshot on those bronze players when I played with him practicing on them actually made me be able to do the same in my normal games
I have been playing valorsnt for a month and am plat for like 2 weeks now and I can really relate to these mistakes. See it often with my teammates and with myself.
Weird how often these happen in diamond, people just don't know what defaults are and call rotates after seeing one person, alternatively on attack nobody seems to want to rotate away after half-assing a site push and seeing that the enemies stacked the site after not pushing in for 30 seconds
Look man when I peak a corner and see an operator I hear Snake Eater start playing and imagine that angle as a ladder I need to climb so naturally I HAVE to peak it again and get shot
Peeker's advantage is not even a thing anymore, especially with Valorant. Like you said, the people holding the angle have the advantage. Unless you have godlike aim and legendary reaction times, re-peeking is usually catastrophic unless you wide peek on someone not on an op.
The biggest problem i always encounter as a gold is rushing sites all the time. We always encounter that problem. I'm a sage main so i always get frustrated every time our duelists just rushes non stops even if we were delayed by smokes, mollys, nade, slow orbs etc. They dont usually listen to people with low kills so... maybe the next guide can be how to fkin fix the top fragger arrogant mentality
Hate jumping into a gold/plat lobby and asking for comms and some tall in lobby but in game they completly mute. 1. No info is given at all if they die to someone or a trap is seen or they have any general info that can greatly help the team. 2. No plans are being made at all. 3. Instead of being a team game where everyome moves together to complete the objective it instead becomes a free for all call of duty aim for the most kills to be established as "the carry" situation even though we lost because there was no aim for the game objective
A common problem with playing default in plat lobbies is that the enemy often peaks out of smokes or does something stupid to engage (ikr pea brain plats) and then my teammates often lose their gunfights. Plat players can be very inconsistent and its hard to run defaults when the only problem is you're just not winning your gun fights.
Hit diamond last act and took a break, came back and kept losing gunfights and cant get out of plat 1. Just realized it’s cuz i picked up the crouch spray habit without even noticing 😶
NUMBER 4 IS A REAL THING WHEN I WAS PLAT THEY JUST GOING TO FORCE HOLDING SITE ALONE WHILE ENEMY PUSHING AND CAUSE US THE ROUND INSTEAD OF GOING BACK AND PLAY FOR RETAKES. THANK YOU VERY GOOD POINT BUT PLAT PEOPLE JUST CANT COMMUNICATE EVERYTIME I TOLD THEM SOMETHING THEY JUST GO MAD TOXIC. Btw very good video thx
As a plat player your aiming advice is very helpful, but most of your advice is impossible to use. Plat players have massive egos and really ever listen to the team. I will constantly be telling my team to play retake or stop over peak and either get told “shut the fuck up im out I’m out foraging you” or I get muted. When I’m a duelist taking map control without smokes is hard and as omen using my smokes is hard. I mostly solo/duo with my friend any advice. Thanks!
Nobody ever listens to my coms and strats and it is a very frustrating issue as i will tell my team to retake and my jett who thinks she should be immortal jus dashes on to sight and gets mowed down and tells us how we are shit for not pushing . It is so annoying
I can never slow push or default. I always lose to wide swings. Idk whether its my 60 hz monitor or peeker's advantage way too strong but reynas and jetts always do that. Im much btr off just swinging them instead they tend to never ever kill me when i peek
How do you deal with teammates doing suboptimal things? Example; when you tell them to play defaults and they just wide swing a lane and get one tapped round after round?
Try to take advantage or use your teammates. If they peek over aggressively, then bait them, If they repeek, then try to peek with them to do 2v1s or trade them, etc.
I really liked this video thank you so much I'll try to make it better that crouch and shoot bcs it's a big problem for me used to be worse but I've kinda fixed it but the biggest problem I have is "if I'm not the top fragger I can't be the one giving the calls no matter if they're good or not" and I don't have anyone to play with so the only games I'm winning are the games when I'm fragging a lot
Great video, and very helpful tips! But, I find sometimes my team is not cooperative. For example, post plant where I ask for someone to hold a crossfire with me, and don't, or say to play time, because we are up numbers, but someone pushing their spawn and dies. Is there someway I can counteract uncooperative teammates?
The fact I am doing that map control thing in Gold baiting abilities and something making me sad because I think I do fuck up often but I just remember my self to not spray that much and boom I got the kill next time but this mistakes are in lower lobbies much more in Gold they are just like not talking often don't even got mics and then tiling in chat that we don't give info while we are talking in voice ( I am talking my mates often don't)
Good video, but I don’t 100% agree with the retake part. 5v5 retake will fail more often than not. The guy on site has to at least get a pick then fall back. You can’t just give them the site even if utilities were used to “hopefully” slow them down. 5v4 or 4v4 retake is definitely easier than 5v5. Haven is definitely a tougher map because of the three sites though. (CS and Valorant player)
Damn crouching is my issue I feel like my mechanical skills and crosshair placement is good also hard carrying as a sentinel main but still stuck at silver 3. I think all of your tips are very helpful thank you so much

Went from a hard stuck d2 omen main to immortal 3. Thank you dragonmar :)
one of the best tip videos i’ve watched thank you Dragonmar!
Dude im in diamond now because of ur tips! DUDE THANK YOU FINALLLLYYYYYYY!
nice dude good shit
it took me like 3 weeks to get use his tips and get diamond, u can do it too!
Did you solo queue?
@@sampatricio5795 um sometimes but i usual had 3 q or 4q with me
btw didnt take me 3 weeks that was exaggeration btw, took me like 5 days of grinding since i was p2 atm
Another helpful video as always thanks Dragonmar!
I can never slow push or default. I always lose to wide swings. Idk whether its my 60 hz monitor or peeker's advantage way too strong but reynas and jetts always do that. Im much btr off just swinging them instead they tend to never ever kill me when i peek
biggest problem in ranks like plat is useless teammates who don't have mics and do whatever they feel like doing even if it's costing the game
I'm watching this as a gold 2 who has experienced a plat lobby only once
I really liked this video thank you so much I'll try to make it better that crouch and shoot bcs it's a big problem for me used to be worse but I've kinda fixed it but the biggest problem I have is "if I'm not the top fragger I can't be the one giving the calls no matter if they're good or not" and I don't have anyone to play with so the only games I'm winning are the games when I'm fragging a lot
best youtube channel i cant believe i havent found this earlier
Great video, and very helpful tips! But, I find sometimes my team is not cooperative. For example, post plant where I ask for someone to hold a crossfire with me, and don't, or say to play time, because we are up numbers, but someone pushing their spawn and dies. Is there someway I can counteract uncooperative teammates?
great video its also useful for gold and silver too
Thank bro Not a Omen main but i'll use him sometime in unrate. ( Cypher Main )
Yo kyle, thanks for this video bro i just reached plat and these tips are really good. See you around on twitch
Great video, as always!
(CS and Valorant player)
honestly amazing video thank you for this
Awesome video super helpful tips for me being stuck in bottom plat. Highlighted very clearly all of the things I'm doing wrong
Thank you!
Genuinely the most helpful video ive seen
Huge fan bro you really help a lot
Very nice video! Thank you man.
Video: most common platinum mistake
Me: Silver 2 :) xD
Damn crouching is my issue I feel like my mechanical skills and crosshair placement is good also hard carrying as a sentinel main but still stuck at silver 3. I think all of your tips are very helpful thank you so much
@dragonmar are we gonna see a diamond video? I was in imm1 and now demoted to diamond and would like to figure out what to improve
