@@arttuahonen8773 YOu could still play passive with a duelist and aggresive with a sentinel. HOwever, Your role and how you will play it will determine you playstyle. Ex: duelists entry, get on site first, flashes if any, etc
I was stuck in platinum for the longest of time and now I’m diamond 2. Best tip to offer is literally focusing on communication and gamesense. Overcomming is better than no com, it’s important to not only mention where they are but where they can possibly be depending on their position and how low they are. Having that type of gamesense and comm goes so much further than having aim. Practice all the aim you want, your aim will never compliment your gamesense if it is not up there. Valorant is my first FPS game and I’ve been at EVERY rank while this game has been up so I feel like I’ve had everything thrown at me. I also have a rule where I play ONLY two games at a time and then take long breaks. If I get two wins in a row then I stop, if I get 1 loss I can decide to stop or play one more depending on how I feel. It’s a grind, it’s not about spamming queue :’) dragonmar made a great video but I just wanted to say my perspective because Valorant is my first FPS and so are many others
I agree with you when you say overcom Is better than nocom. It’s hilarious when no one is communicating at all and I mess up one call and someone gets pissed off. It actually baffles me how no one can be talking and criticize someone who’s trying to help the team out thru coms. Honestly you can probably carry games thru coms alone. I’ve had games where we had good coms and lost but it’s way more unlikely to lose while having good coms.
Still WORTH watching for sure, you may not quite be at this level yet, but you can still apply these concepts into your own gameplay. You'll become an overall better player, and be more "prepared" for higher elo
Just hit plat 1! Started watching your videos over a year ago in bronze and internalizing your and a couple other creators videos has been pretty much integral in me learning the game. Thank you
Thanks for the tips man, just managed to make it back to Diamond 1. I feel like there is a weird skill gap between plat and diamond that I have finally been able to get through. Hopefully this video helps others like me getting through their final push!!
Ngl, I was S1 before watching your content, and I’ve watched it all; regardless of what rank youre talking about like this video for example. I took a week and a half break from ranked and started to use Kovaaks for at least an hour a day then corporate your tips and fundamentals into unranked and spike rush. And finally I went back to ranked and I’ve ranked up to G2 ( almost G3 I need 16 more RR!) in the span of 3 days, I’m currently on a 12 game win streak :)
I've been stuck in an endless cycle of me winning one game and losing the next two which causes me to constantly be stuck in bronze 1, my random teammates are always no good and when I do have to try and carry the team, I become inconsistent.....and the enemies always feel like smurfs....I don't even know anymore man😞
Just focus on your individual performance. You are veeery bad at the game thats all it is. Making excuses hinders improvement. Watch some videos on how to improve in low ranks.
Grind the pyth playlist on Kovaaks (Aim labs isn’t good). Find a five stack on valorant comp cord with other hardstuck players. Gg, you’re now in silver
If your enemies always feel like smurfs the odds are that you are not supposed to be in that rank at all... You might get the odd smurf, but even a low gold on a new account will get into silver in couple games and anybody smurfing from plat and up will be outta iron/bronze even before they have finished all their placement games... So just get better yourself and soon you will be the smurf and climb out
Recently got sick of gold 1 and power grinded to plat 3 in like 3 weeks and now im back to a point where i can no longer carry. Looking forward to your videos
What about confidence? I managed to hit diamond 1 and really felt proud of myself, however, everytime I hit a new rank (i.e. it happened when I hit plat too) my confidence level goes down and I play like a bot, which obviously makes me derank and think I'm not as good to play in low to mid diamond. I'm constantly looking at the minimap and looking at what my teammates are doing/trying to see info if they don't communicate it, but don't actually play attention to my gameplay, which often leads me to getting killed. Any tips for this situation?
Confidence is one of the hardest things to discuss because it is so different for everyone. I have a video talking about it a bit which you may find interesting but the only thing I can say is that when I changed my mindset from "I want to rank up" to "I want to get better" that way you play with a slightly different focus
These are really good tips actually , but every game im crossing with toxic players. Every , single , darn game. They are always shouting , yelling or starting to tell the enemy team that where we are , where we push etc. So i tried turning off all communications , because i was tired of people yelling or shouting at me ( and going 2/9/4 , i know nobody has to get 40 kills on every game , so i hope you get my point ) i was gold 1 , and now im platinum 2. So yes , communications are indeed important in these type of competitive games , but if the game has the right community for it. Im plat 2 now , still toxic people yelling to everybody on every game , every second that you cannot hear anything except from shouting. I will turn back on my team comms , but when i will ( if i can ) hit diamond. Also sorry for my bed england.
one very small tip for b split in late game defenders (2v2 and you wanna hold b alone) or in attackers post plant: smoke heaven (no smoke is ok if 2 v2 def scenario) and just hide under heaven. Not the left side, just right in the rope. its amazing how many times it works out
I was Plat 2 last Season and played alot w friends (they are Diamond 1/2) and i was playing Sage only. I would say i was a decent Sage, my Walls where decent and i just have to improve my iceballs. My team play and callouts where good to, but my aim was so trash, i struggled to get more than 10 Kills every Match and thats why i got mad more after every Game, sometimes, when we lost 13-11, i thought "it was my fault, cuz i just did 10 kills" and everyone else 15/16+. My friends still want to play with me, so i think they´r fine with my aim and like my playstyle.
I don't think we're really any 1 true rank, as rank is fluid from game to game. Overall I like to say i'm low-mid Immortal. Doesn't mean I won't hit Radiant these act, just means that my true skill is a bit lower right now!
I’m in silver and am having a super hard time learning counter strafing, I’m not sure if I’m even doing it at all during my games. Any software you would recommend to see my keyboard inputs? I would like to get a recording software but my computer is a potato.
I think it depends on who is attack. If you’re a Sova/Brim on defense, I say kill the KJ ult every time. I’m a KJ main and most times your offense revolves around that ult when you’re going to use it. Lots of times there’s a bunch of team members right near it too. I think the value of disrupting an entire offense and maybe even getting chip damage/a kill is worth more than saving the Brim/Sova ult for something else. I’m D1 just for perspective
How did I die and what can I do to not die like that again? Well I died because the cypher that was supposed to watch my flank wasn't doing exactly that. The higher you get, the more you need to rely on teammates and that's a double edged sword. I peek to take fights thinking it's a 2v1 and realise too late that it's a 1v1. If I knew it was going to be a 1v1, I would have taken a different approach to that fight. As somebody who solo qued up to plat 3, I find it very difficult to trust teammates and 90% of the time I'm right not to trust them. I went from being an entry to a controller because I trust myself to get the trade. I always check the same angle my duelist just cleared because one too many times, my jett wouldn't clear that angle properly and we'd both be mowed down from behind. Idk how I can improve without relying on teammates and I know as well that it tends to be a gamble when I rely on my teammates.
I got to high plat off pure aim coz ex cs player, still don't really know what "type" of player I am coz in cs everyone is a duelist, everyone is a support/sentinel, everyone has same utilities so you have to be able to play ALL roles and interchangeably switch on the go, multiple times a round unlike this game lol...
Trading is when your intent is to assist your teammate and also prevent them from dying in the fight. Baiting is when you no longer factor in your teammates life.
A lot of trades end up looking like baits... But I would say its got to do with the intention/proximity/ and communication... So if you are playing together and you tell your team mate that you are holding a cross fire with them and they die but you kill the enemy, that's a trade... But if you say nothing to your team mate and let them push round a corner while watching the mini map for info, they die, you swing and get the kill, that's baiting...

hey dragonmar, I have watched you for a while and i'm currently gold 1. I feel like I have lots of gamesense and I can always tell where enemies are and I take note of enemy ults before rounds but I just lose lots of gunfights in ranked. When I play unrated I generally play very well and in comp I normally play omen (my main). Because it is comp I mostly play quite passive and never really push up and this leads me to frag less and lose lots of confidence. As well as the fact that I don't think my aim is reliable, it kind of puts me in this situation where I am quite inconsistent and I don't know whether to push up or stay back. I've started using the range a lot more and making a short routine but I wanted your opinion on how to get your aim better and aim trainers. I prefer not to use aim trainers but I just wanted to know if you thought they were really good in improving. Thanks a lot :)
Part of gamesense is knowing when to be aggro and when to be passive. I can guarantee that you can climb to high gold with just more gamesense. A lot of people think they have gamesense when they don't. Also grind dm to learn counter strafing
@@toxin6584 oh yea, normally I set the bots to eliminate 50 and move to the side of the room, i saw some streamer use it. Do u think thats a good way to practice>
You can't LOSE anything but some time if you download a free aim trainer like Aim Lab on Steam. Aim Trainers are great for developing RAW mechanical skill, which is an important part of any tact FPS. Aim Trainers are not the end all be all however, you should still use deathmatch frequently, especially after using an aim trainer to transfer that mechanical skill into the physical game space. Try 30 minutes of Aim Trainers before you play Ranked for a week, and see if it helps!
@@aidancheah8774 I don't usually do bots in the range because they're more about flicking which you won't use often. I do deathmatch and learn how to take engagements aggressively and win.
Hey.. M not plat but i wanted to ask somthin.. Everytime I play.. I Usually get ace or 4k on 1 to 2 rounds.. after that m just worse.. idk why, usually bottom fragging. killjoy main.
i need help to get out from diamond 3 i hit immortal once and never hit it again for now and just stuck at diamond 3 and sometimes this game is not fair my enemy is radiant last act and immo this act and then my teammate is plat 1 last act and plat 3 this act so this is didnt make any sense i just got match mvp to lose bcs my team toxic or even autolock reyna at plat 3 and blame team i cant play this game if this keep hapenning
How do you get used to keeping crosshair at head level in accordance to elevation, especially slope areas? For example, say I’m holding mid on split from vents. I’m holding a headshot angle for market but they’re at the bottom of the stairs or already halfway up the stairs.
One thing that helps for me is visualizing what the opponent player model will look like if they peek me before they actually peek me, almost like priming by brain for it before hand
do you know how can i delay a push as jett on Icebox B? More often than not i find myself defending b site all by myself and i dont know how to stop them from taking site so easily
The fact of the matter is, you can’t really get to immortal without good mechanics, no matter how good your gamesense is, you can literally play any agent and still not get there
I think that if you are talking like someone with "bronze" aim that probably makes sense. But, the vast majority of players around Plat HAVE good enough aim to compete at higher ranks with only improvement on their gamesense which in the end IS the biggest factor in how good you become. For every 1 Tenz, there are 10 other people who benefit more from gamesense > mechanics.
@@Dragonmar everyone’s got good aiming but it’s the peaking angles and obliterating your opponent with a one tap that I can’t seem to master, I’m juggling angles and still dieing ... exposing as little as my body as possible and cutting the angle like a pie and still dieing. If an enemies out in the open it’s a pretty easy kill me for me but coming round a corner lining up the common angles and killing my opponent before they even react just never happends for me and I’m gold 3 it’s super demoralising we need a peaking guide with a keyboard on screen
Good video i need a guide for new fps players i'm hardstuck silver 3 nd i want a guide about the basics like what should i do crosshair placement nd then counter strafe nd shoot i really need help cuz i feel like.my mouvements are ruining my aim
You are so very right, which is why practice with short, quick comms is key! I'm very lucky to play on NA servers where nearly every game is english dominated.
As a low plat and hardstuck Gold 3 player, I can honestly say that I know all of this and I know how to play multiple agents very well and I cannot get out of Plat or even get back into Plat. The game is filled with people that cheat and smurf or both. It's just not feasible to continue playing this game with the expectation of improving my rank even when I myself am improving as a player.
Because you are boosted. The game doesn't think you deserve your current rank and it is trying to put you back into the rank it thinks you deserve based on your recent performance.
friendly reminder that having top 1% kovaaks scores won’t make you a good valorant player! i’m a gold 1 in valorant. I’m definitely better than everyone in my lobbies mechanically but i’m definitely missing something😥
I hit my highest rank Plat 3 ... without talking to anybody :3 although it's only 10 bucks there ... it's really hard here in my country to buy a good headphones it's luxury for me ... not everyone is really fortunate enough ... chatting is communication too right ? I chat my teammates as much as possible since I can't communicate with them with voice ... :'3 am I a bad player ? :( sorry if I am ... I'm trying my best with low end setup :(
why don't u just get a job and earn money? if u have a pc and internet, it means you don't live in a mountain or a cave or smtg, I'm sure u could get a job and save for some headphones or even earbuds lmao
chatting is actually really bad, you need to stop what you're doing and type in can't instead of clicking one key and talk faster easily. and most probably by the time your type the dmg u done ur teammate already died
If you cannot afford the equipment necessary that is totally understandable! Don't beat yourself up about it, but my main point was more about a microphone, even a fairly cheap one can work wonders!
Put up some pressure every now and then for sure, whether its walk push or what-have-you, pressure on A is really important to hold it. I highly recommend playing on rafters when you aren't pushed as well, gives height + retreat out door, and the ability to drop down and reposition. If you are super confident, you can hold under pipes and the opening pick and instantly dismiss in a TON of rounds as well. I always have luck playing under pipes when my aim is on point
@@Dragonmar i often play under pipes and get kills, but it’s so hard for me to play on rafter, i often whiff there or just got one tap, even i’m a low sens player
alot of boosted plat GAMERS in my ranked games. also in plat everyone is solo running around dont know how to play the game WHEN TO PLAY POST PLANT, TRADE, PLAY A DUELIST PLAY A SUPPORT AGENT. there is no diffs. between silver players and plat players. (game knowledge).

hey dragonmar, I have watched you for a while and i'm currently gold 1.
@@toxin6584 sounds good, thanks for the advice :)
I Usually get ace or 4k on 1 to 2 rounds.. after that m just worse.. idk why, usually bottom fragging. killjoy main.
bro im stuck between plat 1 and 3 since beta lmao
how to get out from silver that's the real hell bruuh
i need help to get out from diamond 3 i hit immortal once and never hit it again for now and just stuck at diamond 3 and sometimes this game is not fair my enemy is radiant last act and immo this act and then my teammate is plat 1 last act and plat 3 this act so this is didnt make any sense i just got match mvp to lose bcs my team toxic or even autolock reyna at plat 3 and blame team i cant play this game if this keep hapenning
How do you get used to keeping crosshair at head level in accordance to elevation, especially slope areas? For example, say I’m holding mid on split from vents. I’m holding a headshot angle for market but they’re at the bottom of the stairs or already halfway up the stairs.
It just comes with time eventurly, it will become 2nd nature, I know its what everyone says but hours and practise
Death match, sheriff only... You will learn head level for multiple elevations across all maps pretty quick as well as good trigger discipline...
Shoot them in the head... Then smoke and dash back onto site... Then play 5v4 retake with your team once they have rotated... Ez
me watching this and still beliving that skins get u out of plat!!
Me not talking cuz im too shy:👁️👄👁️
@@thatfrenchi dude i don't play fortnite anymore im just too lazy to change my pfp
me : hmmmmm i got everything but what is valorant ?????
Im not sure if i know the valorant fundamental im plat 2...
ive been hardstuck plat 2 for like months now lol
I was plat 2 yesterday i played one game and now im plat 1 i rlly dont wanna go down to Gold
to do fast comms is so hard if english isn't your first languagne
You are so very right, which is why practice with short, quick comms is key! I'm very lucky to play on NA servers where nearly every game is english dominated.
if you ever feel like you bad and are Hard stuck silver or even bronze just make an alt i did cause i felt i deserved a better rank and got plat 2
Lmao bronze and plat 2 r u kidding??
Can u link a headset for 10 bucks so I can get one. :D
That’s a lot of cope from one person
Plz do a dia one
Yessir 🔥
WHY when i win games i only win 16 points?
Because you are boosted. The game doesn't think you deserve your current rank and it is trying to put you back into the rank it thinks you deserve based on your recent performance.
I sense one main problem I’m in the philipines and I play on hongkong servers and there’s people who speak different languages
Ex. Chinese,Tagalog,and maybe more?
friendly reminder that having top 1% kovaaks scores won’t make you a good valorant player! i’m a gold 1 in valorant. I’m definitely better than everyone in my lobbies mechanically but i’m definitely missing something😥
Gamesense :p u gotta improve that buddy
@@nadeatoms if it's that easy bro ... i'm applying since last year but no luck hehehe anyways thanks for your opinion ^-^
@@atomez9372 thank you sir ... you have a point ... but i'll stick for now with chatting ... and when I get a job i'll buy a headphone for sure ...
If you cannot afford the equipment necessary that is totally understandable! Don't beat yourself up about it, but my main point was more about a microphone, even a fairly cheap one can work wonders!
Me iron 3 watching how to get out of iron using plat videos
Are you xtr?
any tips on holding A on icebox? im a reyna main but the enemy time would always sova recon, omen blind, jett dash, and it would be impossible to hold
@@Dragonmar i often play under pipes and get kills, but it’s so hard for me to play on rafter, i often whiff there or just got one tap, even i’m a low sens player
poggers moment

also in plat everyone is solo running around dont know how to play the game WHEN TO PLAY POST PLANT, TRADE, PLAY A DUELIST PLAY A SUPPORT AGENT.
there is no diffs. between silver players and plat players. (game knowledge).
Agreed, in plats are just golds with more confidence... I know this because I am 1 of them lol
Eh.. Why I am watching this. I am Best Radiant Player anyways.
Well.... Based on my Imaginary I am radiant... I will always love my silver bronze and iron :'( I will never get out of silver
