    You think plat players are selfish? You gotta watch silver players. No Comms , huge egos , no coordination , no statergy games , giving up after 5 rounds. The game just feels like a deatmatch with abilities. I had better games when I was unranked lmao

    • @noahparker50
      @noahparker50 4 года назад +55

      Yep I got matched with a bunch of silvers as a diamond because the other team had a smurf (riot fix your ranked system). I tried to tell them where to go and when to use their abilities and they ignored me and just said "just cause your diamond doesn't mean your that much better than us." We lost.

      As a silver player I try to listen to high rankers but many better performing players sort of ridicule the lower kill players of their team. Often times I faced it. It happens a lot of times. My ping remains all time high of 100+ which makes matches very hard when opponents are rocking pings of 16-40. That leads to frustrations as neither can you kill and continue getting ridiculed~heartbreaking.

      same exact scenario people never use viper smokes and whatnot, its so easy to split a site in half like ascent A while attacking, as long as your team can aim you get half the site completely free. the other cool thing i like about viper is that you can bait so well, if you wall at the start of the round you can fake so many rotates just wall up wall down then run around a bit its good if done right

      @originated712 4 года назад

      EnderDragneelMC Iron-Gold is pretty much better aim the higher rank. In iron-bronze there will probably be people force buying every time or playing dumb as well. This is so true man. No one plays the information game. No one asks themselves "What does the enemy know about us now and what does that make them do?" I see sooooo many bad commitments when we know all defenders are present. I've seen people take ages entering and/or planting when we know all defenders are NOT present. Don't even get me started on rotates. SO hard to find a team that will bait util, relay whos on what site and commit to an attack based on live info. In CS that shit starts happening around Gold Nova but i've seen full Plat lobbies never even consider tracking enemies locations.
      Basically, continually ask yourself "What has the enemy seen and what would I do with that info?" Then you can plan around it and have the enemy accuse you of wall hacking.

    This was insightful but what’s upsetting is that a lot of these issues revolve around teamplay and things that are completely out of your control. Getting baited constantly, sitting mid and doing nothing, teammates playing over aggressive on post plant, it all seems like things that even if you play your role and play unselfishly, if your team plays like that you can’t do anything about that.

  • @VortexMagus
    @VortexMagus 4 года назад

    I actually agree that you have to take on the entry fragger role. I've noticed this in both gold and plat that a lot of duelists and initiators are really reluctant to go in. The problem is, I mostly play sage and cypher, who have very strong utility post-plant but whose utility are not super strong before then. So if I die, it's much worse than a brimstone with smokes down dying. Or a Reyna who has used all her flashes dying. Because a good Sage wall and decent ice orb placement can do a LOT post-plant but isn't nearly as impactful entering the site.
    I ended up pushing through gold and into mid-plat by adding entry fraggers who weren't afraid to go in to my friends list and then just following them closely so I could trade off on people who kill them. Still get baited occasionally but it's much better.

    i think its important to mention that there also exist a way to bait without dying by just shooting from a position or shortly showing yourself
    example: bind hooka, someone shows themselves on window and there is a different guy hiding on the deeper part, the atackers will look for the guy in window and die.
    this ofc is less effective in even higher ranks and pros often recognize baits immidiately
    btw point 2-3 are the most important IMO

  • @abstructed5692
    @abstructed5692 4 года назад

    I was stuck in diamond 3 immortal in beta and now I’m stuck in plat 3 diamond 1 and I’ve found that baiting is MUCH more common and even to the point where the team will never even get on a site. This is genuinely the main issue is people just bait each other as much as possible and nothing ever gets done on the attacking rounds.

    Knowing this stuff prior to watching this gives me hope. I'm Gold 2 but honestly everything you said Diamond players do, is something I've been focusing on. Only playing one night a week really hinders my progression but that's what happens when you have other obligations throughout the week. I'm hoping to hit plat and eventually diamond sometime this Act.

    Definitely think it’s true about the over confidence. People do not play time no matter what. I’ve been in positions where i’ve called “play time” and people still peek out. As a precious CS:GO player, a lot of these things are pretty similar to what i’ve already learned. I do see some things i’m currently not able to do very well and have to learn, but mostly i’m straight. However my general teammates…? That’s really the biggest issue with the climb, not having a supportive team that works with you, or knows what they’re doing. Hard to win a team based game with no comms in basically a 3 v 5.

I feel like this video actually gives great points about the difference between plat and diamond. But I also feel like if I want to rank up I should play a character like Phoenix instead of sova or omen so I could lead my team and try to entry frag instead of us waiting around doing nothing. Great video

    Ok i Can relate to ur vid so much as a plat player, ill admit i have made some of the mistakes u mentioned and i have seen alot of players that i play with do these mistakes. One thing that u didnt mention that i have experienced alot is this. I usally play sage since no one Else wants to play her and i always push in first but the problem is i most of the times push alone and die, even if i tell my team to push with me and we lose many rounds cause my teammates dont have a healer for the rest of the round.

  • @kukki2107

    Crosshair placement was a huge surprise to me. I spent more than 100+ hours in aimlabs just doing gridshots. I started low, because valorant was my first fps, my lowest score in gridshot was 32k or something, that was the first time I started a year ago. I also started out in Iron in Valorant.. so normal right? So I kept on moving up quite fast actually, in the 6 months mark going in valorant. I hit gold 3 and almost platinum. My average in Aimlabs was now 85k.
    Once I got to plat 1.. that's where it all fell, I kept on going back to gold 3, gold 2 gold 1 even then slowly go back up plat 1. And I noticed that I was always bottom fragging, sometimes top fragging if I'm just feeling myself. So I changed and said, I will never queue up rank UNTIL I get 90k+ in gridshot. Fast forward 2 months later, I hit 95k and now 100k in gridshot which is a GRIND for someone who has never played fps before.
    But that was my first mistake. I solely focused in tracking/gridshots when that wasn't my problem in the first place. I always thought that I have good aim since people like tenz hit gridshot at 110k so which means I'm close to being like them in aim right? No. This video is right.. You may think you are good enough, but no, you aren't. So I asked myself.. what in the world.. am I still doing wrong?
    So I went back to the basics, I recorded my games because I got a tad bit dramatic and thought of just quitting valorant because it's not for me maybe. And you know what I noticed when I was replaying my vods? Yes, Crosshair Placement. That simple mistake.. every fight, and I MEAN EVERY duel that I was in, my crosshair was either below or above their head, or literally miles away from their body and I had to rely on my flicks to aim back at their body/heads.
    So I talked to my friend, who reached Immortal, he was a cs go player so he knew a lot. And I copied him. Went to deathmatch and spammed deathmatch not to get 1st place, not to get as much kills then feel good about myself getting 1st place. But to peek corners, not looking at map, putting up a music so I will never hear them coming if they are running. Just pure crosshair placement and peeking, jiggle peeking, looking at every corner and getting faster and faster at looking peeking every corner.
    And I'm not even joking you. after 5 deathmatch of doing that, I went back and queued, no aimlabs or anything, no bots training, no spray control training no nothing. Just 5 deathmatch focusing on crosshair placement and instantly queueing ranked. And I kid you not.. I instantly saw the differences, 90% of the duels, I won with headshots. The thing is, if you can hit 100k in gridshot, but not have good crosshair placement.. your aim will be trash. Trust me. But if you can get 100k on gridshots AND have good crosshair placement, dude.. believe me when I tell you, you will be a beast.
    And so my lesson learnt.. let go of that damned ego, you are not as good as you think you are. You need to improve. There is a reason why you are in platinum.. and there is a way to get out. Many aspects, but the first one is to learn your mistakes, don't just think that getting good flicks in bots in deathmatch in aimlabs will make you a better player. Even in radiant.. they always have room to improve. And if you are in platinum, diamod and immortal.. then you will also have waaaay more room to improve.

    That baiting is like every rank. I've experienced silver and gold, I main Viper and often I am the only controller. I would do the execute on site and the duelists would still be sitting behind their cover making me having to be the entry fragger (which sucks because if Viper dies her utility is gone instantly).
    I think it's like this because of the rank system, you have to play duelists to get more kills to get mvp to rank up but you don't want to entry frag because if the entry frag is often on a 1 K/D which is already more than his job.

    As a gold player it is very true with people never ever pushing on smokes. As a brim player I smoke off site and everyone is afk scared to move first. When I inevitable have to push first instead of the entry fraggers there will be no one ready to trade behind. Really frustrating. The solo players are also very present, had this guy that told us to not worry about his buisness when he was force buying as the rest of the team where going echo. Also notice a lot of people in gold being ridicolusly bad with understanding the time. On a retake they play way too slow instead of pushing out and taking a chance.

    D2 soloqer and my tips:
    1: dodge ascent if youre a soloqer
    2: mute teammates/lower volume. even a on-toxic teammate. too much chatter will ruin your concentration. too much back seat gaming will hider your split second decision making or your game plan. PLAY YOUR STYLE!
    3: learn brim/sage. (learning brim is very important)
    4: learn when to play unpredictably. you need to sometimes execute a dumb play so the enemy team has trouble gauging your abilities/game sense. you can sometimes pick up weird frags or will have the enemy underestimate you in later rounds.
    5: PATIENCE! kills will always come to you if you're playing smart. chasing frags is for deathmatch.

    The most toxic game I've played this season was with a full immortal lobby. People were either complaining about each other, using/wasting utility without saying anything to the team to setup with, saying the game is already over at round 5~10, and just not speaking to each other in general. I don't know what was with that lobby but, 90% my diamond games had been generally really nice with less flame from each other. This may be just anecdotal and I may have had just a bad experience. Just know that this happens at all ranks and I hope people will see this video to improve their play rather than have inflated egos when they're plateauing.

    I have tried SO many times in plat to be communicative and build synergy and make call outs. It starts in the lobby. I usually have an idea if we're gonna lose based solely on pre game lobby. My biggest gripe is discord 3 or 4 stacks that come in and only communicate in discord without sending an invite. I end up having to guess what the plans are and there's no cooperation...only flame when things go poorly. And ALL of them claim they're a lot better than me (a KJ main with plat/diamond mechanics that focuses on team play and game sense). It's really frustrating because solo q to diamond has taken me months and I'm just on the cusp of it...but it usually means if I'm not playing my absolute best, it's not likely I'm going to get carried.
