I’m glad to hear that and unfortunately those who complain on reddit are also complaining in game not realizing they are also contributing to it. My games have been SO much more positive than CSGO and OW
I think a lot of those people complaining are also usually toxic themselves. Hence they are posting about it on Reddit. I think you get what you bring to the team. I have friends who ALWAYS ran into toxic people in Rainbow Six Siege and Apex but I can count on 1 hand how many times I've seen actual toxic team members. I always try to keep it positive and look at silver linings for the team.
syypher Happened to me in Valorant, I barely get any toxic people but when I queue with some acquaintances I get at least 1 standout toxic player once every couple of games
I agree so much with the thing on checking stats, econ, health, and ults because as a sage main, I get far less frequent, "CAN I GET A HEAL, SAGE" when I'm on top of who's getting low and who isn't. It also allows your team to predict potential plays which is huge
Congrats on getting to Immortal. I think your advice was very smart and useful! I especially appreciate the note on staying positive and uplifting your teammates, as well as taking the lead and being a strategist so everyone can be on the same page. Thanks for all the tips overall! I'll definitely be trying to be more mindful to learn new angles and such on the maps
@3:00 this is so true tho. The shorty is insane on save rounds, especially if I’m playing viper. All I need is the shorty and my toxic grenade. Play the mind games hiding in and out of the smoke, and soon enough they’ll slip up, easy one tap kills.
When I was silver, I did watch dragonmar's vid about differences between platinum and diamond elo. After seeing those videos, i tried to practice more about gamesense, teamplay, crosshair placement and raw aim. After learning these things, I got Immortal 2 last act. Thank you for those tips. Better team coordination means high chances of winning
all good points. I never tilt over teammates. Facepalm yes but having expectations in how others should play doesn't go well with soloQing. Personal tilt over getting stomped on is more difficult for me. It makes me turn my brain off and try to force things. Becoming aware of that helped my game a lot.
Keeping a positive attitude and light environment is key. I've been able to turn terrible starts (0-5, 0-8) into breaking even or going positive by avoiding tilt. "If you can't laugh at yourself, someone else will."
Your video appeared in my Recommended vids and, man, you are so humble and I can feel your positive vibe in your voice. Thanks for the tips, I am just a beginner Iron 1 HAHAHA, but okay I am enjoying the game even if I suck in it. Definitely wanna get better. Subbed! You deserve to grow a lot in YT, you explain everything very well. I salute you from Spain!
The iron player we all wanna queue up with, most of the players below gold atleast are so toxic it hurts so much more than not being good, gl to you bro
Can you do videos on how to play certain bomb sites? Like "How to hold A site on Ascent" and you can go over angles and positions to play. Things like taking one angle and then repositioning. That would be awesome content and tips!
I’m d2 rn climbing and I can say this video hits everything home perfectly, definitely take this guys advice. One thing I would add is to learn and spend the most time on agents that give u the most potential to carry ur team... ex: Phoenix is by far the best because he has the most useful kit because it can be applied in almost all situations well. And stay away from agents that are good for the team but aren’t the most reliable like cypher or Sova: their kits are amazing for team play but for soloQ they are some of the worst picks in my opinion
Imo cypher is a great soloq carry, trips to stop flanks no need to rely on teammates. Trips to hold a site no need to rely on teammates. Smokes are always useful allows for countering awpers and general movement. Cams for free kill setups and Intel. Cypher is the ultimate soloq because you don't need your team(although with them you are amazing)
I would say rather than pick an agent that can carry, pick an agent and find out how to play to that agents strengths to carry. For example brimstone can use vision denial, site executes, retakes, ult a bomb plant/defuse etc. Or with omen (who I play) use my flashes for myself and also teammates to get man advantages, use reusable smokes to stop opers, and ult to gain vision rotate and flank
I would appreciate a solo queue series maybe where you go more in depth in these topics. I am going to be solo queueing myself and trying to get to Immortal as well! I hit Diamond in R6 and Apex Legends so I'm hoping I can get to Immortal after I learn the game more. Started Silver 3 and climbed to Plat right now but just hovering around gold. This video got me to sub. GREAT tips! Would love more content on solo queue. I hardly see much out there other than tier lists and "top 5 tips" that are all the same.
Best tip ever play what position and style your good at it!! alot of players will try to be a captain to you in a game telling you do to what they want and that fucks your game up so much... thats how i got from gold 2 to diamond 1
Thank God someone makes sense! I do think it's good to expand and over time get to know new char, or location, weapon for personal growth in the game at your own pace. Tired of those videos conditioning thier viewers to play the way they think is best.
No. 5 is really true... Staying postive is a great way make your team make them play better. I turn my 3-9 games to make a comeback and went to 13-10. Even tho your other teamate is toxic being postive can turn the game right way round.
good points. People maybe doing these things without even realizing the importance of these principles. You made it clear and the thought process made it seems agreeable.
Just going to throw this out there - being asked to play a different position isnt outrageous, and to climb efficiently, you should really get comfortable with playing 2 positions on every site.
nah. if u try it and it isnt working for you. its better to stick to what u know works and obv everyone should know 2 sites . but on defense its usually same agent holding down same site.
@@Neonloverx Your comment doesn't make sense if everyone were to think that way. Imagine 2 players who only had success playing B main on split. Both of them would feel obligated to play that site because they've had success in the past. Both would feel the other one should switch and toxicity would ensue.
Coming from years of CS before this, the things in this video are a great trivial foundation to having a good mindset for the game. But, I think having lack luster teammates (no comms, bad aim, bad/no utility usage) can overshadow anything you try to do. This is especially prevalent with me playing with people under platinum.
I think that you are right on a per game basis, that bad teammates may overshadow your individual ability. But looking at the larger picture, I think we begin to see where even in those games you are still improving, and over time, you'll be able to win more of what used to be "unwinnable" games because of teammates.
awesome video bro!! learned a lot from this and hope to see more tips n tricks for climbing. i like the positivity man, i think thats the biggest tip for most players. just be positive in attitude n ur team usually even does better, dont make them feel shitty if they fuck up a play
Dude all I have to say is that this is way to accurate for me and almost did what you did except for peeking ops and forgetting not to check economy thanks DRAGONMAR
I like your mindset. There’s nothing more annoying then the one person on the team telling everyone how to play trying to orchestrate the entire 13 rounds for every single person. I cut out some of those types of people I used to play with, stayed positive and encouraged teammates and after doing that I’ve ranked up a lot. Just gotta do your own thing sometimes. 💘 thanks for the tips
Nr 5 (stay positive) is super important! Teammates being unsupportive and negative can easily throw the match, I've had a match where my team was 0-8 and instead of giving up my team were just complimenting eachother and having fun which ended up winning us the match. It's important to let your teammates know what they are doing wrong instead of yelling at them, especially in lower ranks.
I have 2 questions. 1. What is force buying and what weapons are considered force buying. Cause there are many times where I buy a spectre and heavy shields and my team is like “stop force buying” 2. How are you supposed to use the shorty on attack. Because when I’m saving and buying the shorty/stinger. I get beat simply because the weapon I’m using is terrible at range and the enemy team just kills me with their rifles. Then I get caught in a loop of always buying spectre because buying a rifle would ruin our economy and simply not being able to compete with people that have vandals/phantoms
1. Force-Buying is when you use pretty much all of your teams economy to create the best "buy" possible in that round. Forcing is almost always going to put you at a weapon disadvantage, but forcing allows the closest competition with the enemies buy. Forcing should always be done as a team, or allowing you to buy next round with the team for a full buy if you have extra money. 2. Shorty on attack is hard, and it should be. It's best used defensively, even on attack. Holding for pushes from defenders, and playing around smoke are my best choices. I've found that attacking aggressively at close range with flashes from teammates can only work well on attack with a shorty!
I'm a veteran CS player and am pretty decent at Valorant. Good video, very accurate points you made. Another tip would be remember when to take time off. For me, walking away even for a day or two can produce better results than playing 5-7 days in a row.
hey dragonmar can you do this series again? the players and meta has changed a alot so people are much better and probably the climbing much harder would really be nice if you can climb again this act
One more tip, I’d say be comfortable/good with 2 agents, and then have a 3rd that is your backup (so have 2 you use consistently for ranked and maybe whenever you play casuals use someone else for fun) so if you’re ever in a situation you always have someone you know how to play well. And remember that your play style should change depending on your pick... you can’t play cypher the same way you play Phoenix
To clarify his point about play what you're comfortable with - this does not include a baiting playstyle or a situation where you hold no angles and getting frags because the enemy is assuming there isnt 2 in your position. This also does not mean for you to stay in the back, he is only referring to weapons, agents and where to hold sights/where to enter etc
great video, awesome and straight to your points with no bullshit to milk out a longer video, loved it bro👌 will definitely subscribe for future videos
I’m glad the dodge timeout is 2 minutes, because dodging is in it’s purest form not wasting you or your team mates time and gives you to search for a game that comforts and suits you.
Genuinely Grinded for a week instead of playing off and on and went from hardstuck iron to platinum. My aim got better, my game sense multiplied and I’ve made so much progress. Never blame anything on luck, always consider what you could have and should’ve done.
It’s tough for me coming back from not playing CS for 4 years, to grinding in this game. I was GNM in CSGO, and now I’m bronze 2 in Valorant. But one thing I still know from my time playing csgo is that the lurk/flank role is my strong suit. When people try to tell me to do something else I can do ok sometimes, but I don’t play my best. I started at silver 3 in this game and I just kept losing ranks listening to the backseat gaming teammates I would get along the way just to avoid the bs.
The shorty is kind of underrated, I always use it in eco rounds and if you play it properly, the kill potential is massive, both on attack and defense. I would even nerf it, because for the cost of 200 creds it gives so much firepower.
Agreed with the agents part. Lot of people just lock sage because none of their teammates chose sage but remember it's not compulsory to have a sage in your team only choose her if you actually know how to use her slow orbs or walls
its insane how many ranks i dropped bc of solo queue like my team just get toxic and negative or they just dont speak and i cant carry enough to the point where it wins us the game its annoying asf
A lot of good points here that are also applicable to other multiplayer games. The only thing that you can’t really change and what frustrates me is the language barrier in EU solo queue. Some people can’t or barely speak English and therefore don’t wanna communicate. So you are forced to do their part as well and don’t get info yourself. Lost a lot of games because of that. I think this is no problem on the NA servers and sometimes I would like to move to NA just to have good multiplayer experience for once in my lifetime 😅
Being stuck at P3 as a Sage main is brutal. Especially when you do want to revive people but everyone died in horrible areas. If I had went to revive them it'd just be a bait or even a death for them again. It's brutal man.
I'm your 666th like! Besides that, I really enjoyed the video, you made high-level play seem achievable to lower level players like me (Silver 3). I also think that what you taught shouldn't only be used in solo queue but for general games. Keep up the good work!
Uh btw for no. 6 the check yur enemies jots part u don’t need to press tab u just need to look up at the play icons and look for a yellow background, that yellow background means that player has ult
I almost wish your segment about how you got value out of the shorty had footage of you getting said value out of the shorty. Since that's a gun I can't seem to find compatibility with, I was wondering if you had thoughts on making "a guide to the shorty" or something along those lines. When to buy it based on eco, maps, map position (attack and defense), accounting for team comp, adjusting tactics, etc.
at 17:50 in my Immortal VoD Review video there is some great footage about what the "best case" scenario looks like with using a Shorty, and perhaps in the future I could do something like you suggest
I definitely gotta work on the not getting tilted part lol. I play with my friends and even thought they’re my friends, some of the mistakes just pisses me off, the amount of rounds we lost from those mistakes. I know I know, everyone makes mistakes, and I can’t say I’m immune to it cause I’ve costed my team some rounds too, but sometimes it’s just hard to not get tilted 😅
Very nice video! I'm trying to get to plat at the moment. In the beta I started in Iron I and I was playing like trash lmao, and ended the beta season on silver I. Now with the release I started ranked in gold I and got to gold III where I'm stucked right now xD. Hope these tips will help me to reach plat or even diamond, thank you!
Im plat 3... when I solo queue I get 4 turkish teammates and 5 turkish enemies. Most of the time they refuse to speak english back and flame me in turkish
I tend to use brimstone for utility or sage if no one takes it since I'm rather comfortable with both. I try to improve more, be it with better smoke placements on brim, or better timing with walls and when to use slow orbs (still have no idea haha) another point, the early rounds, I go mostly bucky/ares, as with the way I play I tend to be most effective with them, communication is a strong suit of mine when I'm not stressing out and giving messy callouts, but I always speak up to the slightest sound I hear
I am a silver 3 stuck when I demoted from g3. I have to carry my team every game because I know I am not actually a silver just can’t get promoted like I win 5 games in a row match mvp but don’t get promote s

You wont succed playing what you dont like
What do u mean by "helps with high ping",having high ping is literally an advantage
where you flamed by a guy named "sean"by any chance
Raze is for bots
@@froglifes6829 raze is like pretty much a must pick tho....
@@noahvanooijen6640 Because she is easy to use while being very strong. That's why I call her a bot character.
Really nice video! My ranked games have been really positive too even tho I always see people on Reddit complaining about toxicity
Me:
“All on me”
*dies after they all push*
Team:
How’d they get on site?
Me:
😤
It happens, I just try to sit back on site and slow them down with flash(omen) or get a pick then bounce.
But not every team we get has coordination. Sometimes they dont even listen....winning is too hard in solo q
all good points. I never tilt over teammates. Facepalm yes but having expectations in how others should play doesn't go well with soloQing.
Personal tilt over getting stomped on is more difficult for me. It makes me turn my brain off and try to force things. Becoming aware of that helped my game a lot.
Videos like this give me hella motivation to get better. Love the content bro
Comments like this give me hella motivation to keep making videos! Thank you!
Thank you thank you!
That is planned for sure!
Check out xtr, he hasn't made a video on other sites yet (at least I think he hasn't), but he made a vid on how to hold a site on split.
great video my dude
I’m d2 rn climbing and I can say this video hits everything home perfectly, definitely take this guys advice. One thing I would add is to learn and spend the most time on agents that give u the most potential to carry ur team... ex: Phoenix is by far the best because he has the most useful kit because it can be applied in almost all situations well. And stay away from agents that are good for the team but aren’t the most reliable like cypher or Sova: their kits are amazing for team play but for soloQ they are some of the worst picks in my opinion
Shit, I'm good at the others types than :/
Imo cypher is a great soloq carry, trips to stop flanks no need to rely on teammates. Trips to hold a site no need to rely on teammates. Smokes are always useful allows for countering awpers and general movement. Cams for free kill setups and Intel. Cypher is the ultimate soloq because you don't need your team(although with them you are amazing)
Krytiku u have absolutely nothing in ur kit for retake moron which is what ur doing 90% of the time in soloQ
Dalen at the end of the day it doesn’t even matter what agent u pick, just get kills and do ur part
1:17 the problem with this, in EU at least, is that there are certain spots u need an agent in otherwise u get abused, i.e raze in U hall.
Best tip ever play what position and style your good at it!! alot of players will try to be a captain to you in a game telling you do to what they want and that fucks your game up so much... thats how i got from gold 2 to diamond 1
Please please please keep making videos. They help me so much! You have earned a loyal subscriber!
I have to say everything in this video is straight facts!! Plus I like how valorant 99% of time when I’m streaming is friendly towards each other
whoa nice video. so genuine and actually trying to make a better/stronger valorant community. subbed!
Thank God someone makes sense! I do think it's good to expand and over time get to know new char, or location, weapon for personal growth in the game at your own pace. Tired of those videos conditioning thier viewers to play the way they think is best.
“teabag an enemy”
Next tip: Stay postive
5:09
Ralph Santillan thx
No. 5 is really true...
Staying postive is a great way make your team make them play better. I turn my 3-9 games to make a comeback and went to 13-10. Even tho your other teamate is toxic being postive can turn the game right way round.
Good stuff man! I really like your take on this! As someone only solo-Q'ing it can be frustrating when you get like 2 or 3 bad games in a row.
Gotta push through the bad ones and use those as a learning experience. You should always feel like you've improved, even from losses!
good points. People maybe doing these things without even realizing the importance of these principles. You made it clear and the thought process made it seems agreeable.
Just going to throw this out there - being asked to play a different position isnt outrageous, and to climb efficiently, you should really get comfortable with playing 2 positions on every site.
Very true. It’ll help with the flexibility of your team and catch your opponent off guard.
site*
@@Astro.99 Didn't catch that, thanks!
nah. if u try it and it isnt working for you. its better to stick to what u know works and obv everyone should know 2 sites . but on defense its usually same agent holding down same site.
But looking at the larger picture, I think we begin to see where even in those games you are still improving, and over time, you'll be able to win more of what used to be "unwinnable" games because of teammates.
i feel this. whenever i Q with a gold (im plat 1) i just know the game is gonna be different. ranks are pretty inflated right now
awesome video bro!! learned a lot from this and hope to see more tips n tricks for climbing. i like the positivity man, i think thats the biggest tip for most players. just be positive in attitude n ur team usually even does better, dont make them feel shitty if they fuck up a play
Good vid. Lots of great tips for people trying to improve in valorant
Nr 5 (stay positive) is super important! Teammates being unsupportive and negative can easily throw the match, I've had a match where my team was 0-8 and instead of giving up my team were just complimenting eachother and having fun which ended up winning us the match. It's important to let your teammates know what they are doing wrong instead of yelling at them, especially in lower ranks.
so much info in one video, keep posting videos 🤗🤗
I have 2 questions.
1. What is force buying and what weapons are considered force buying. Cause there are many times where I buy a spectre and heavy shields and my team is like “stop force buying”
Loved the video and I hope I can CONSTANTLY reach a better rank in the next seasons by CONSTANTLY winning out games as i constantly constantly frag
Good video mate. Keep up the good work.
Kozahry thank you!
so on point man! this is what i need to rank up! thanks! subscribed
I'm a veteran CS player and am pretty decent at Valorant. Good video, very accurate points you made. Another tip would be remember when to take time off. For me, walking away even for a day or two can produce better results than playing 5-7 days in a row.
shorty on jett is lowkey amazing, my go to sidearm on OP
hey dragonmar can you do this series again? the players and meta has changed a alot so people are much better and probably the climbing much harder would really be nice if you can climb again this act
So youre telling me that, I should insta lock. Aight
Him: Communicate a lot.
Me: *from EU forced to play on Turkish servers with 4 people that flame each other in Turkish*
Genuinely Grinded for a week instead of playing off and on and went from hardstuck iron to platinum. My aim got better, my game sense multiplied and I’ve made so much progress. Never blame anything on luck, always consider what you could have and should’ve done.
Damn man thats awesome
Great video bro, we should play sometimes, i need me a good brim lol
It’s tough for me coming back from not playing CS for 4 years, to grinding in this game. I was GNM in CSGO, and now I’m bronze 2 in Valorant. But one thing I still know from my time playing csgo is that the lurk/flank role is my strong suit. When people try to tell me to do something else I can do ok sometimes, but I don’t play my best. I started at silver 3 in this game and I just kept losing ranks listening to the backseat gaming teammates I would get along the way just to avoid the bs.
Hey! You’re awesome! I’ve been learning a lot from you! Hope you keep up the good work!
Bro you’ve been on my friends list for a long time and I never knew you produced content this informative. Gotta play again soon.
I’m glad you made this video, I always thought it was impossible to reach immortal just by solo queue :)
Low rank : toxic, impatient, giving up early
High rank : positive, very patient, never give up
Yes I agree which is why I want to get out of silver
This video was very well made. Thank you
Kudos too you for being able to even do this
The shorty is kind of underrated, I always use it in eco rounds and if you play it properly, the kill potential is massive, both on attack and defense. I would even nerf it, because for the cost of 200 creds it gives so much firepower.
Agreed! Insane value at 200 creds
Very cool, the solo q has been ruff there is a lot of good info here
Really good video your pretty underated
Hey thank you!
@@Dragonmar no problem man you earned a sub
Great video my dude! Take my sub! your hard work that obviously went into this pays off. Well deserved :)
I agree completely to everything very informative currently D3 wish me luck!!
Wow your video was very helpful, thanks so much. Keep grinding you deserve way more subscribers
Agreed with the agents part. Lot of people just lock sage because none of their teammates chose sage but remember it's not compulsory to have a sage in your team only choose her if you actually know how to use her slow orbs or walls
Cool advices & channel sir! keep it up
Thank you and I will!
I really don’t understand why people play with no mics and solo q what do they expect to keep climbing?
Because they think they have the skill to win the whole game
Me no use mic ... guess my rank
decent teammates?
Kaisya Ng silver 3
Russian policy in my case. I fucking hate the fact that I can't use my mic.
To everyone who reads this:
PLEASE use your mic, it is so hard to have someone in the Team who doesnt communicate!
2:49 that sova that killed you is my friend!
Man that's a really good video thank you
Thanks so much, I hope to see you back for future videos!
Honestly i like that the background gameplay is not a montage ... its realistic with good and bad parts
Wait till you see the VoD review i'll be posting soon of my OWN gameplay, some of the worst i've ever played but its good to show the bad as well!
Thanks for this and I love your optimism. I subbed :D
Thank you for saying that! Your comments drive me to keep making better content!
@@Dragonmar no problem! keep up the good work!
Good vid man.
I would add another small thing.
Always warm up in The Range or play few Spike Rushes, especially if you played some other FPS before.
Great video, thanks for the tips!
its insane how many ranks i dropped bc of solo queue like my team just get toxic and negative or they just dont speak and i cant carry enough to the point where it wins us the game its annoying asf
It's brutal man.
great video man
I'm your 666th like!
I know I know, everyone makes mistakes, and I can’t say I’m immune to it cause I’ve costed my team some rounds too, but sometimes it’s just hard to not get tilted 😅
smh so toxic
Very nice video!
I'm trying to get to plat at the moment. In the beta I started in Iron I and I was playing like trash lmao, and ended the beta season on silver I. Now with the release I started ranked in gold I and got to gold III where I'm stucked right now xD. Hope these tips will help me to reach plat or even diamond, thank you!
Im plat 3... when I solo queue I get 4 turkish teammates and 5 turkish enemies. Most of the time they refuse to speak english back and flame me in turkish
You can't get 5 other teammates
Well not many Turkish people know English
I get french people
learn turkish 5head strats
I tend to use brimstone for utility or sage if no one takes it since I'm rather comfortable with both. I try to improve more, be it with better smoke placements on brim, or better timing with walls and when to use slow orbs (still have no idea haha)
another point, the early rounds, I go mostly bucky/ares, as with the way I play I tend to be most effective with them, communication is a strong suit of mine when I'm not stressing out and giving messy callouts, but I always speak up to the slightest sound I hear
I am a silver 3 stuck when I demoted from g3. I have to carry my team every game because I know I am not actually a silver just can’t get promoted like I win 5 games in a row match mvp but don’t get promote s
