nice vid. the other day I had a jett that was doing ok scoreboard wise but would dash in site and do her job correctly. I play omen and remember one round on ascent a offense where jett smoke dashed to dice or gen and I followed in as the 3rd or 4th. the jett looked left and right while dashing and I picked up an easy kill on the enemy reyna playing the corner next to the boxes close on the right side. the jett was really happy that I noticed what she did and complimented her for it. some of the stuff in the video really made me think about that round again
Man it was an eye opener for me, I used to play league and mini map was such an important aspect of that game but here in valorant (my first fps), I never looked at it! Thanks for the tips coach!
@@pixush good going bro, keep it up improvement is slow, since you're new to fps aim mechanics may take time to develop but since you played league abilities and shit will be natural for you. So good luck friend, hope by your next reply you will be at bronze :D

CLIFF NOTES What is Gamesense? -> Game Aspects that are outside of raw mechanical aim (ie. positioning, utility usage, minimap awareness, etc.) -> Most people don't practice their game sense because it requires you to do homework as opposed to practicing mechanics which is linear in nature (aim trainers) --> Both example clips showed how smart utility usage can create easy duels Minimap Usage -> Lack of minimap awareness is a huge factor for poor game sense -> Strong minimap awareness can compensate for team's low communiation by gaining info for yourself -> More awareness to the context of the scenario = better informed decisions When to Check Minimap -> When anyone dies (enemy or teammate) -> When you see an enemy's ability --> Can locate the enemie's positioning based off this info --> Same for enemy's Ults -> Sound Cues (Spike Drop, Gun Drops, Footsteps, etc.) -> When Teammate comms (sometimes their comms can be wrong) -> When you are "out-of-a-play" or during downtime --> Holding abiltities, stopped behind enemy utility, Planting spike, reloading, etc. Specific In-Game Scenarios -> While teammate(s) entry/retake into a bomb site, look at minimap to use teammate's vision -> During post-plant, look at minimap to look at teammate's positions or where the enemies can retake from How to Hold/Peek Angles with Minimap Usage -> Don't hold angles, peek, hide, then repeak --> Look at minimap when behind cover
I don't usually check the minimap, but this vid shows me it can give crucial info at all times of the round, now I'm making this comment as a commitment to forever abuse the minimap from now on.
Good to know that the thing holding me back is my shitty aim since I do most of these, but I mean, my aim is the reason I learnt to do this stuff so I can't be mad
For checking the mini map when holding an angle, I do the same strafing in and out as u, but I’m always scared of getting timinged (it’s happened a few times) how can I avoid timings when I’m checking my map while holding an angle?
this response is half a year late but, in the video he demonstrates peeking a little wider to clear more angles and make sure you're extra safe before you go back and check, so you don't get timing'd
