Taking a deep dive into Impact Frags, a phrase you'll hear a lot but you may not be too familiar with! "Impact" being the key word there, and yes Billy...there is a difference between you eco-fragging and getting first bloods on buy-rounds. If you guys enjoy the video, let me know! If you have any questions, ask away and join me on twitch where I'll be live almost daily at 10AM EST at www.twitch.tv/Dragonmar
Thanks for reviewing my vod. I have put the tips into my gameplay and just from a couple of games, I have reached platinum 3! I am hoping I can keep on progressing into the climb. Thanks for the vod!
The amount of toxic top fragging non entry dualists with 3 afk kills, 1 ace on a eco round and 5-6 clean up kills + 4-5 regular good kills is to damn high. Loved the video do
yeah. and they just yell at you for it. for example, whenever I bottom frag, something like 11/15 or like that, it's usually cause we got pooped on on attacker side cause the entry was baiting and we weren't playing as a team, and on defense I would get really good double and triple kills without getting traded that won us rounds. it was usually for nothing though as If i died to a fourth or third guy on the next encounter we would essentially be playing 2v2, since both the baiter and the person getting baited are afraid to engage.
I get trash talked for not constantly entry fragging, as a controller btw. I play omen but I always end up having to take on a duelist role (my aim isn't my strongest side), while I'm more of a passive player. I constantly have to go out of my way to do my teammates' jobs. Full smoke the site, hold the flank, entry frag, tell them to plant, clutch after plant because they chase kills and die. It never fucking ends. I always have to carry, my games always end up with me top fragging because my team is so bad. Even when I single handedly take half of our round wins we still lose. I don't want to be the top guy every time, because that probably means that we're gonna lose. My game sense is good, but my aim isn't good enough to handle 5 enemies at once.
true. I always try to take the entry, the chances of me succeeding are 70-30, I always get matched up with people who insta lock duelists and then stay behind the whole team, they don't even lurk(I don't have a problem with lurking duelists if they give comms and do their thing correctly), they just wait for everyone else in the team to die and pick out 2-3 exit frags by sitting in some corner at the end of the round. I've been playing controllers and initiators more now but the I always do the duelists job because of my instinct. Only if people weren't thirsty for frags and played the right agent to win.
@@kobraxoxo yeah, i like to play sova but i'm essentially forced to play breach since he's one of the only guys who can effectively solo take a site with all his corner clear
I feel like you notice who on your team has impact and who doesn't. I.e. a guy is top fragging but somehow never seems to get anything done VS the guy that always clutches it or gets the best enemy player every round, but still bottom frags. I can feel when a teammate's kill is impactful or not. A lot of the time the biggest trash talkers with the biggest stats are usually the least impactful. But sensing your own impact can be hard to judge. I never really know when my kills are of high impact, I usually just go about doing what I think is best for the team, that's usually grouping up since I have to entry frag every single round. Even though I'm not a duelist. Can someone give me a tip on how I get my team to push on attack? I usually play omen and always smoke vital defender angles, but my team just doesn't respond to what I'm doing, even though I repeat the same smokes throughout the game.
I went from Plat 3, Diamond 3/Immortal 1 mmr to demoting to Gold 3 and I'm still losing every game and nothing changed with how I played. In fact I actually improved more and more and continued to lose my games because I always get shot in the back because my teammates can't hold a single angle, if I don't get 4-5 kills a round I lose the game because I continuously get teammates on my team who lose 4v1 and 3v1 if I die. Sometimes I lose my aim duels. I've noticed that my aim hasn't changed but I feel like instead of getting crispy headshots my bullets go through the enemies head now or I get instantly one tapped or double headshot through a wall by someone who is running which happens to me A LOT. Also the other major thing that changed suddenly was that I kept getting timed, for example there is usually one person on the enemy team who just happens to know everything in the universe like when I stop holding an angle after 20 seconds and then they peek and shoot me in the back of the head as well as my 2 teammates or the next round I will be playing in a very strange spot and they will flank me and not even play with their team or they will just know where my team is playing and either go somewhere else or rotate to that site and 5 stack it. I've already gotten 3 people permanently banned for cheating but those 3 players were blatant and didn't care about getting caught. Imagine all of the people who actively hide it. This game is a massive waste of time and improving in your personal skill won't grant you ranks. I can promise you that.
"This game is a massive waste of time and improving in your personal skill won't grant you ranks. I can promise you that." that is losers mindset, if you wanna get good at it just fkin grind. if getting 4 to 5 kills is the only certain way to win then get them. I stopped blaming my teammates for matches a long time ago, and of course you will get R-word teammates time to time but don't let it discourage you. just push forward no matter what, if you lose you lose, but don't cry carry harder next time(what else can you do if you wanna win).
I'm only about half-way through but he's had quite a huge impact on a lot of rounds. The rounds where didn't have much impact were rounds where he wasn't presented the opportunity to have impact because the attackers went to the other site and he either died or wound up in a 1v5. He's usually getting first or second blood and not getting traded, which is a huge impact especially as Reyna.
I had a match yesterday where my team won every Eco round and I was so confused but I realised after watching a few clips that we were way more aggressive on eco rounds than normal rounds and we could have potentially won the match much easier only if we noticed that.
The biggest difference I'm noticing from my rank is there's much more decisive play. I hate how pushes in my rank are basically push to the window (bind B, for example) get held up, and then achieve absolutely nothing for a minute while we are slowly surrounded. Oh, but then I get yelled at when I try to play away from the team and do sneaky Cypher things..
Started out 0-9-8 KDA in my last comp match. So demoralizing but I had a 4K round and we ended up winning from down 3-9 in round 33 of overtime. Nobody flamed me becuase they realized I just wasn't finishing but I did ass loads of chip damage. Everyone has shitty games and the numbers don't always correlate exactly to GOOD vs BAD
For sure, sometimes the bottomfrag ends up clutching the most important round. Had that happen in OT, where our bottomfrag who was playing very poorly absolutely clutched the final two rounds of OT to win it!

7:18 so you dont talk about him looking lost st the smoke and having to rely on a flick if someone pushes cause his crosshair is not on a head level aswell
Anyone else think what Reyna did at 9:30 was just unfortunate and wasn't really a mistake? I might be wrong but isn't is ok to go a bit aggressive when you have a teammate to play off of you? Breach was peeking down hookah after Reyna got the opening frag so I'm guessing he went back to try and help the Breach hold hookah. I'm only a silver player so I don't really know much. I kinda understand why he says its a mistake as you are giving them an opportunity to refrag but I don't really think its that big of a mistake as repeeking with a teammate denies them control over hookah.
Wait duelists are supposed to have most firstbloods? Especially on attack? I thought their main focus is to bait. Then if you start losing, they yell at you for being trash. Coz you have less kills.
When I play rena in a close range map I always use smg why no 1 push the enemy with team when I get frags I'll just go invincible and go behind them and kill them this dosent always work of course so be wise when you do this
Here in silver I usually get around 5 first bloods a game and end the game with 15 kills (as a brim main) my team really never pushes especially duelists
Whenever i play a low amount i win more. Mental and physical fatigue is real. Played 2-4 games a day and went from g1 to p3 in 3 weeks but when i played for like 5 hours straight i was hard stuck
just play until you’re tired cognitively. Then stop. It’s not really about the amount you play, more about the quality of your matches. Big plus if you can VOD review your own matches, especially losses.
If possible, as many as you can honestly. I'd say 4 is pretty good though, and something most people can achieve. It's okay to miss a day or two, but consistent play is pretty necessary for climbing
@@Dragonmar If I have like 5-6 hours (Vod reviews, deathmatch and ranked), how much time (approximately) would you recommend me to spend on each (I´m plat 1)?
Here's what I learned from playing mostly Jett (placed Bronze 2, currently Gold 3)... On attack, the only (and I mean absolutely only) duty as a duelist you have is to create space during a site execution for your team. Please do not care about being the top fragger always, the improvement you will see will be massive, both for you and your team.
How does yoru apply to the 'duelists must be pushing in first' rule? As a yoru main, it seems like his job is to infiltrate from behind, and people often die before i can do so. Thoughts?
i do understand that u shouldn’t blame tm8 when they are not doing well but i’m constantly getting teammates that are like 3 and 19 and they just don’t use there abilities. i make sure i always do entry for my team as duelist and i don’t insta lock. No matter what i just can’t get out of bronze what do i do? also i’m usually top fragging which doesn’t matter but just fyi
I just had a game where I played with my friend who is b3 and I'm i2 so the enemy cypher, skye and jett were owning me, but in the second half, when I got the cypher with deagle, I got some confidence and ended from 6/11 to 21/19 and nearly aced (fucking kayo), I really started sweating my 1taps and got 6 first bloods. Still we lost 12-13.
Hey Dragonmar, currently Silver 2. How can I look to get better? Right now I’m a Reyna/Jett main who top frags around 80% of my matches. I try to never be toxic and IGL as best as I can. I play a couple games a day. But I still can’t seem to climb as fast as I want.
I was in your boat not too long ago as I’ve been playing for only 2 months now set up a consistent aim routine warmup by playing a couple dms before your comp games and even if you feel off the only way you’ll get better and climb is if your consistently doing better even on your off days I climbed from silver 2 to gold 3 in two weeks this way
Because it turns any round into an up numbers advantage situation. Meaning that if you properly trade out kills you automatically win. Now its obviously more difficult than that, but first blood always guarantees an advantage in a round making it high impact
What should I do? I have a passive play style that works for me, but my friends have a aggressive playstyle. I try to be more aggressive but I end up doing worse.
Pro tip: play non-duelist agents if you already have friends that are willing to play aggressive. If you win rounds, the scoreboard doesn't matter. I never get to play passively, even though that is the style I favor. Sometimes we also have to get out of our comfort zone and try something new. But I would recommend sticking to what you prefer. A passive playstyle can be crucial to learning how to gather info. I have 500 comps in CSGO and I'm not a very aggressive player. But I have still learned so much from playing that way. Aiming isn't my strongest skill, but my game sense is unbeatable at times.
Hi there, I am silver 3 and I really want to improve and become better and I know that i am missing out a lot of thing so would you recommend spending more time on aimlab or dm or just playing the game Thanks for the response , your content is amazing and I hope for the best for you !!
Balance it out. But if you are on the NEWER side to FPS/Computers I would spend more time in Aimlab to build the raw mechanical skill you need to aim. Just remember that Aimlab is great, but you need to play the game too or else that skill won't translate
this reyna is the perfect copy of the enemy reyna i get in silver lobby.....idk why but in singapore server at least most silvers are hitting too many headshots and their movement is quite good for a silver
If you win pistol round and the rest of your team isn't buying up, is it better to upgrade by yourself and risk losing round 2 or save with your team so you can buy for round 3 regardless?
ok i understand what your saying about dont blame the team if they have less kills than u but ive had a game when 2 people on my team went 0/11 and it was like 9th round
Lol @ the instalock Jett i had last night who never entried. It was 10-2 for us at half when he decided to DC and we proceeded to lose bc 4v5 in defense is impossible
I'm immortal I have good aim but sometimes when I go against radiants or even some immortal players idk what happens but my gun just gets them to 1 hp and I die or I get one tapped everytime I fight them it's like my bullets just don't hit them my hs % is 19% like I said idk what it is pls tell me what I am doing wrong
Do you spray too much? Could try using the Vandal to focus more on HS at high ranks. You may also be taking a lot of unnecessary fights that get punished at Radiant
@@Dragonmar I don't spray a lot and in dm I practice one tapping only or doing guardian only. Sometimes my recoil just crosses the line my first shot even when I counterstrafe and I'm perfectly still my first shot just outlines my opp head and I die of hs. I do take some unnecessary fights but I'm slowly working towards fixing it
I’m so sad I was bottom frag my last game it was 12-11 so if we won we gone the game everybody in my team died and I had 2 hp I killed everybody on the Enemy team except killjoy I planted the spike and guess who shot me HER TURRET and I died😢
So... if they buy third round, and you’re stuck with eco guns, doesn’t that increase their chance of winning the third round just cuz u force bought second round?
@@tommyp4311 its better because if you eco 2nd round when you won that round will mean itll be 50/50 since both teams are eco but then 3rd round both team will have full buy so another 50/50 so theres no point... But if you force buy 2nd round its very high chance of winning and gives free win in 2nd round but third round they will have full buy which means you have lower chance of winning but atleast you still have enough money to buy in 4th round. having attack and defence force buy second round gives you free 4 round wins and thats alot
@@bibeklimbu9456 but then u waste money on eco. why would u throw away eco guns if that's a round another time u have to eco cuz u spent money when u had guns already
@@tommyp4311 not everyone buys atleast 2-3 of us buy and we’re not just talking about buying eco guns we buy vandal/phantom and half shield and the rest has the same guns for bonus and this helps the team win almost every time cause they ain’t winning eco against vandal/phantom which then leads to keeping the guns and the rest being able to full buy while getting the free win
5:12 gonna have to disagree with you there on the value of kills in 5v3 scenario's. I probably speak for a lot of people when I say I have seen a lot of rounds lost in 5 v 3 (enemy) scenario's either due my own team mates not playing around the objective (go full berserk rush mode while the enemy spike is defendable), die with the spike in x location that is super annoying to push. Or general bad aim/ability or info spam in lower elo. (don't get me wrong, I too do dumb shit or I wouldn't be in bronz/silver) It might be true that the higher elo you go the less mistakes people will make that will let them die for free. But that is certainly not the case in lower elo's. Imo getting that 3rd kill is extremely important for significantly improving your chances to win due to the amount of info you can get before the last 2 enemies go through enough team mates for them to be on equal ground. And maybe this changes the higher elo you go but from my playtime I notice that sometimes team composition is slightly more important than being able to frag depending on the sites you defend. For example, getting 2 kills defending on jet in bind might be nice when the enemy pushes in on b site long, but if you lose the site instantly while the timer is running low, your team will have to push tunnel while they have 0 angle's secured and are susceptible to spam like you said. In scenario's like those having a moley from sentinels/controllers will help you a bit more than 2 kills and a lost site. And that is considering the jett didn't just die for free but actually got 2 kills out of it.

This was actually really interesting I normally don’t watch long vids like this

How many matches per day would you recommend for someone to climb?
I play 13 games a day no vid reviews no death match no anything that’s prob why I’m hard stuck plat 3

Thoughts?
Yoru is just labeled as a duelist but his skillset is not really suited for the role
@@Pokemontrainergian What role do you recommend he takes in a team then? I currently don't quite know what position to take in a team comp.
Idk he is okay in defense because he can teleport from site to site

do u think unratet is a good practic?
it simplifies things for you team as long as your teammates know how to take advantage
i do understand that u shouldn’t blame tm8 when they are not doing well but i’m constantly getting teammates that are like 3 and 19 and they just don’t use there abilities. i make sure i always do entry for my team as duelist and i don’t insta lock. Nice video as always
I was in your boat not too long ago as I’ve been playing for only 2 months now set up a consistent aim routine warmup by playing a couple dms before your comp games and even if you feel off the only way you’ll get better and climb is if your consistently doing better even on your off days I climbed from silver 2 to gold 3 in two weeks this way
damn that breach is good
plat 2 vs s2 how are they managing to get so many rounds? this should have been a 13-6 at most
Please make more!
He buys sheriffs so he is able to support brimstone every round, not everything is bringing value to a team but helping a teammate dude
Why exactly is the first blood considered “High Impact”?
Because it turns any round into an up numbers advantage situation. Meaning that if you properly trade out kills you automatically win. Now its obviously more difficult than that, but first blood always guarantees an advantage in a round making it high impact
What should I do? I have a passive play style that works for me, but my friends have a aggressive playstyle. I try to be more aggressive but I end up doing worse.
You should play a support role that aids your aggressive friends!
Don't play duelist
Pro tip: play non-duelist agents if you already have friends that are willing to play aggressive. If you win rounds, the scoreboard doesn't matter. I never get to play passively, even though that is the style I favor. Sometimes we also have to get out of our comfort zone and try something new. But I would recommend sticking to what you prefer. A passive playstyle can be crucial to learning how to gather info. I have 500 comps in CSGO and I'm not a very aggressive player. But I have still learned so much from playing that way. Aiming isn't my strongest skill, but my game sense is unbeatable at times.
Hi there, I am silver 3 and I really want to improve and become better and I know that i am missing out a lot of thing so would you recommend spending more time on aimlab or dm or just playing the game
Thanks for the response , your content is amazing and I hope for the best for you !!
Balance it out. But if you are on the NEWER side to FPS/Computers I would spend more time in Aimlab to build the raw mechanical skill you need to aim. Just remember that Aimlab is great, but you need to play the game too or else that skill won't translate
@@Dragonmar Thank you very much

Switching to a secondary?
you need to start buying 2nd round after winning im immortal and buying 2nd is free win plus they will be buying on 3rd round no matter what
So... if they buy third round, and you’re stuck with eco guns, doesn’t that increase their chance of winning the third round just cuz u force bought second round?
(don't get me wrong, I too do dumb shit or I wouldn't be in bronz/silver)
It might be true that the higher elo you go the less mistakes people will make that will let them die for free.
11:08 ammo low thats why he picked the op
I feel like his flash usage could be better but his aim is nice
i don’t wanna sound rude but some of the advice is just hindsight.
