    Thanks for this - I will try this. Though would be nice to know why you are dividing, multiplying and taking away.

      The calculations provided take into consideration the stretch of knit fabric, allowing for expansion and contraction. By modifying the measurements accordingly, a proper fit is achieved that accommodates the fabric's stretch. This is the reasoning behind the calculations.

    Love this tutorial. How do you draft a dartless skirt pattern for knits for someone who has a bigger behind requiring the back pattern to be drafted differently from the front?

    Hi Gigi, Iam a self taught sewist, I have a question. Why do you divide by 1.1 by 4 and why do you minus 1cm from the shoulder to waist measurement?

    Hi,
    So I have a pattern but it’s for non stretch fabric. I want to use the pattern for stretch fabric but obviously the dress ends up being too big.
    Can you please help?
    Thank you

    Did you cut the front piece on the fold also, or just the back piece?

    Is this pattern draft good enough for most knit fabrics ?

    • @GigiZanti
      @GigiZanti  Год назад +1

      I recommend it for most light to medium-weight knit stretch fabrics.

    Do you use centimeter for all measurements

    • @GigiZanti
      @GigiZanti  Год назад +1

      Yes, because here in the UK, we mainly use centimeters for measurements. Recognizing international differences in units, I also provide the equivalent in inches for clarity and easy comparison.

    Do you add an amount to the pattern for seam allowance?

    • @GigiZanti
      @GigiZanti  Год назад +3

      You can add a seam allowance to your final pattern.

    How to create a pattern on raglan sleeves using elastic fabric without darts.

    Pls why did you divide by 1.1

    • @rytzka7272
      @rytzka7272 Год назад +2

      I believe it is because with stretch fabric, if you dont take it in a little (so by dividing by 1.1 you substract an equal amount to all your measurements) the garment will be too loose

    I don't understand why measure the shoulders like that, 1/2 of the shoulder is 1/2 from the top of the shoulder to the base of the neck right? Please ,explain this for me😢

    • @td4700
      @td4700 11 месяцев назад

      She's using from the shoulder tip where the arm meets the shoulder to the high neck point where the shoulder meets the neck, so half of that measurement.
