I ran into a shiny sableye early in the game, and I thought it was one of those sparkly ones running around in a cave with a terra form in battle, but it was actually a shiny because his shiny form is gold lol and it was the first time I had encountered a shiny in the wild and I've played every gen.
I had the same experience with a shiny Skiddo. I knew something was off about it because it had white fur instead of the normal brown color it usually is. It's now a Gogoat that I only use...rarely. I've found out, shiny Pokémon are easier to find when you're not constantly searching for one 😅
Just remember guys, if you accidentally run past a Pokemon, just know in your heart it will go breed with normal Pokemon in the wild and the number of shiny Pokemon in the world increases ❤️
So many people had multiple random shiny encounters. Ever since the first day I was looking at every single Pokemon I pass in case it's a shiny, I also have actively been shiny hunting using sandwiches and mass outbreaks but I got 0... I genuinely think my game is bugged at this point.
Same, played through the whole game and no shiny. I’ve got the shiny charm and I’ve gone in and out of an area looking for a specific shiny pokemon for a few hours total. I used a sandwich too, but still nothing lol. Hopefully soon

4:10 this EXACT scenario happened to me. i was exploring poco path or whatever its called and i found it before i even triggered the koraidon cut scene
I can do away with the no shiny sound, but not even the sparkle icon whenever hovering over the Pokemon that is shiny (second guessing myself around every turn 😂)
Exactly. Half the time I have sound off anyway. But no sparkles in the over world. So many pokemon they added look super small. And some shinys barely have any difference
So for the 30 & 60 knock out, what if I accidentally knock out a Pokémon that isn’t the one I want to farm? Will it break a “chain?” Or the chain doesn’t discriminate in this game?
I’ve seen other videos about the mass outbreak method, some with live examples, and it looks like if your Pokémon knocks out a Pokémon not part of the outbreak, it does not break the chain. All the matters is that you do not cause the outbreak to disperse
It's easier because their are more spawns in the wild. It's hard because there is no Shiny indicator. As a Pokemon go Player since 2016, somehow I'm familiar with Pokémon shiny irritations. I now have 6 shinies and I'm still hunting for more! :)
Yes and no. The odds of running into one are the same you just have a faster rate of encounters, however, many of the similar looking shinies are going to require you to thoroughly check them anyway. Though the really obvious shinies like the totally different colored ones, are super easy and quick to notice. I do think its a good balance but I also wish they would atleast put in a SMALL shimmer just because some pokemon are super similar and some people are colorblind.
I wish the shiny pokemon AT LEAST had a better visual indicator for which ones were shiny like the sparkles in Let's Go bc some pokemon are just so tiny or the shiny difference is so small (or both like Charcadet!)
Fun fact:My first,and currently only Shiny I have is a Dugtrio. I asked the game for a Shiny,walked into a little cave cubby thing,and on the way out,there was a blue-nosed mole thing. So I named it "ASK&RECEIVE" lol.
I was really hoping this part @6:30 about using the outbreak trick on non-outbreak Pokémon would work, but had multiple Reddit users confirm that it only works specifically for outbreak pokemon. I think the biggest point that should have been a major point is that when you auto battle Pokémon it will not attack the shiny, because there is no audio Q for a shiny Pokémon, and it's solely based on visuals. I saw a shiny Pokémon, and literally tried to auto battle it not knowing it was a different color, because the shade is so similar to the original, and it wouldn't battle the Pokémon after walking up to it and battling it, I realized it was a shiny, your main use of trying to find Pokémon should be the auto battler and if for some reason your Pokémon refuses, that's how you know

Funni thing is within 20 minutes I found a shiny when starting the game now I’ve completed the dex with the shiny charm and I’ve gotten about 5 shinies one of them being a team effort
Caught my shiny magikarp randomly through out the map, then caught a gible from an outbreak. After attempt to reset the outbreak to get a shiny froslass for about 3 hours I gave up and the following day found a random spawn snorunt shiny lol

Just as a clarification, for defeating 60+. Does this number ever get reset? If so, what are some of the specifications that do? Letting your game go to sleep? Turning the game off? Defeating a random pokemon in between others? This is something I am struggling with on knowing.

I been doing the metsuda method and surpassed the chances of 1/682 and the shiny Rellor I want still has not hatched! I found 3 shiny's in the overworld while doing this, i don't know if catching them effected my odds or saving the game and coming back to continue the hunt did too. I have a Japanese ditto and a Rellor from my game no doubt about that and I double count so I pretty sure I didn't mess up in that regard before I release them. i"m sad cause I failed at 2 shiny outbreaks for Rellor as well and got other overworld shiny's instead, this shiny does not wanna come home, i still don't have a shiny native to the paldea region yet :(
Hi im just wondering if for example your hunting a shiny frigibax in the wild with a encounter power dragon and without sparkling power with out shiny charm. If you defeat 30 or 60 of those normal frigibax will it still increase your chances or does it only work for mass outbreaks?

If you are doing a mass outbreak, can you just run far enough away to despawm the outbreaking pokemon to reset their spawns, or do you have to enter a town or use a picnic to truly reset the pokemon?
as far as im aware you can run away from the area and despawn them, though the actual distance I dont think ive seen. I have a feeling the render distance doesnt mean despawned. So I have been running until the symbol for the pokemon poofs off the mini map but realistically until we know, its just safer/easier to pop a picnic

I was wondering when using the shiny charm do u need to have it on ur lead Pokémon or one of the Pokémon in ur party? Also when breeding do u need to have the shiny charm on the ditto or the other Pokémon when breeding? Sorry I’m fairly new to all of this
the only way for me to do it is kill combos with Charme without mass outbreaks so this is a lesser chance then other games before how stupid is a gen 8 1:1365 vs gen 9 1:2045 or something ugh
Crazy how Legends has better mechanics than Scarlett and Violet. Game freak releasing incomplete games is starting to get old. Im assuming its because the fan base is impatient and refuse to let them actually build a solid game. I miss when pokemon go didn't exist it turned all the people on to pokemon and those same people made fun of me

You must only hurt the one you are farming.

I know im 11 months late but no, its never 100% and ive seen people get really unlucky and hatch a shiny after over 1000 eggs 😅

It resets if you turn your game off without saving after the 60 and when the in-game time goes to the next day

Not to be a hater but alot of the information about the odds is acculy wrong, the battling 30-50 and 60 increasing odds ONLY works for outbreaks.
Just fond another method if in middle no where and there a raid enter the raid and run away all the pokemon outside changed

Doesnt have to be shiny, just from a different country. This is the Masudo method.

Unfortunately yes it will reset but running away will keep the streak

you have to change your day to tomorrow to reset outbreaks. They reset at midnight, just resetting the game won't work
