@@sora43 I used the water starter and psyduck, which can actually breed, but both were male and I still got the item I tested this with^^ so I guess two of the same Pokémon with the same gender should work too. I don't know if the drop rate is as good though 🤷🏻♀️
I did this on accident with ditto and the legendaries that cannot breed and items popped up in the basket pretty frequently. The basket didn’t need to be right on top of the shiny item on the ground. It just had to be in the picnic area.
You can actually go into creative mode for your sandwiches and create a sandwich with peanut butter, butter, and banana that will give you an Egg Level 2 rating so that you can produce these items even faster.
So with Egg Power 2 (which can be done easily with banana, butter, peanut butter), you get an "egg" about every 30 seconds. That means, if you use a non-breeding set of pokemon (ex: a paradox pokemon and anything, or two males) you'll net a star piece every 30 seconds. These can be sold for $5,000. If you pick these up as they spawn (or close to it), you'll get 2 a minute on average, so 120 of them an hour. You can make about 600,000 an hour doing this with egg power 2, which does require you to re-up the sandwich every half hour. Still, even without the egg power, I think it's about a minute for an egg, which cuts your hourly gains in half, but you could easily get a turbo controller to just spam A overnight and guarantee 300k per hour.

This is completely wrong and by that i mean this method of farming. 1. You don't want to make eggs at all . 2. Sandwiches don't do anything(since we done want eggs) 3. Doesn't need to be in the basket 4. There are better items. 5. It's not a glitch. The pokemon pick up nearby items as they play around the picnic table. So easy method. Start by going to a beach. You'll want to find a pearlstring(worth 10k each). Save before picking up just the same as in the video. Next you want to have a FULL party that can't produce eggs. Then set your table anywhere near the item you want to farm.(doesn't need to be under the basket or table) Now keep your party active. Whistle at them and throw the ball every 30min or so to keep them awake. Comeback check the basket should have anywhere from 8-10 items in the basket. (I think 10 may be its max limit it can hold) so keep that in mind. I picked up over 120 items in 6hrs. Or over 1mil worth of coins Enjoy everyone Update: basket does get full at max 10 items. …no, most likely the ‘it was a’ is constant, and the item name is variable, based on what item you pulled out. It does not mean it isn’t a glitch. Even if it’s not normally possible to get that item from the basket, it can still display the item name properly because it pulls it from the object in game
Game developer here. It's definitely not a mechanic, I'm 100% sure of that. BUT having another text for this kind of interaction must mean that's a scrapped mechanic at some point in development, and that's pretty confusing cuz Game Freak deliberately took this mechanic off, mistakenly left pieces of code remaining in the game and, in this crazy uncommon interaction, you can access it somehow. This game must have some crazy spaghetti code for something like that to happen, as a bug, not a glitch
Eggs don't matter. You don't get an item from the basket with every egg. I experimented with no egg power active. With food and without food for egg power I was getting the same amount of star pieces when I was doing it.

It is actually fascinating how this bug works, because you dont actually get infinite rewards, otherwise you would never leave the item claiming screen, and it wouldnt switch from egg to star peice and back like that. Im wondering if the prompt is determined based upon when the 'next' action is performed, and something is causing you to switch between the egg basket and the star peice (probably due to proximity, maybe has to due with the character model swaying animation?), but because you are interacting with only the egg basket that the game doesnt remove the star piece from the map.

Ability patch raidon selling is waaaaaaaayyyyy faster than this tho. You can do it if you plan on going afk, but 1 ability patch (which takes less than a minute) is worth more than this.

if you can find a coment shard in a sparkle spot that sells for 30k.. which with how fast you can get eggs using a level 3 egg power it about equals the Legend Dupe glitch
I used the technique some were saying of having x2 female Pokémon together while the sandwich was active. The basket does show multiple Star Pieces for me, but it is not infinite, they spawn as frequently as eggs do. I am also using one of the lvl2 egg power sandwiches (Great Marmalade I believe) So going AFK and checking the basket every 10 minutes or so works
I found a way to bypass getting eggs instead of star pieces. For whatever reason, you can “breed” ghimmighoul and ditto which produces star pieces. Normally, ghimmighoul cannot be bred so I’m thinking that the game just thinks it can but instead just leaves the star piece inside cause no actual egg is being produced.
There's a better way to do this. Currently doing it. Find Balm Mushroom worth 7500 in the Thicket. You also don't have to redo the sandwich every 30 minutes. You can essentially just let it go and check it every 10 minutes or so.
Loved the tip. Didn't thoroughly explain, though: Will sitting there longer get more star shards? Or should we be resetting the picnic after that initial set of eggs?
The more you wait, the more items you get. It doesn't matter if you take it or not after picking up the picnic, the game after a Switch day, will reset the shiny spawns, just as raids, UNLESS is a very specific fixed spot like with a Big nugget or a Pearl String, you wouldn't pick it after resetting picnic.
Still works as of version 2.0.1. I found it easier to ditch the sandwich but keep the Ditto and other pokémon cuz the extra eggs kinda annoy me. I wait 10-18 minutes, then check the basket. The max amount of items you can get from checking is 10, it's still random each time. It doesn't matter if the item is directly under the pillow, it just needs to be in close proximity of your picnic. Highly recommend duping ultra balls and pearl strings

Okay guys, if you are having troubles with that, for example you are getting mostly eggs hear me out. I tried it and was getting star one per like 15 eggs. So I’ve decided to find another place and when I found another star piece i tried there and was getting only that, not a single egg. Dont really get how it works but i think its somehow corelated with the surface youre doing it on, if you dont get enough stars go somewhere else and try there!
So I found a better glitch in post game if you can get a single ability patch. They sell for 125k, if you use that with the item dupe glitch.. you make about 700k in 10mins. But thats after 6 star raids and actually getting the 3% drop.

A thing I figured out through trial and error, it seems to work better if you STAY in front of the basket and DON'T MOVE or have any items equiped. Edit .... Okay so I tried the same thing on another Day and now it doesn't work as well, so I have no idea how this works ...
Ah yes the classic history of Pokemon glitches. Seems the majority of people have forgotten about stuff like box dupe glitches from way back when, Pokemon games have always had shit seeping through the cracks XD
About how long do you have to wait for this to really kick in? I went through the basket a few minutes after the sandwich and only got one Star Piece before only getting Eggs. Fortunately the item is still on the ground.
Tried this with iron tread and a male eevee w/ egg power 2 and only saw the star piece every 2 mins at minimum. Max varied.... Am I doing something wrong?

I've been doing this for a few days now. You don't need a compatible breeding pair. It's easier if they're not a breeding pair - That way you don't end up with accidental eggs. This only works on glint items, not PokeBall items or TMs. I have seen a glint item Comet Shard somewhere but I can't remember which zone it was. If someone can find a glint comet shard that would be the holy grail for this exploit!
Thank you for explaining this. I've been getting tons of eggs and no shards. I was using a ditto too. I've tried waiting 2-3-5-10 minutes. Need to re-adjust not make another sandwich. It's seems to be making 2-4 shards per 10 minutes. That's 90k average an hour for star shards. Idk I think it's better to just play the game but to take advantage of this when you breed.

So the other recipe for egg power 2 would be the following: watercress, basil, pickle, and Olive oil (Ultra Pickle Sandwich) however, I also found a problem with after the first few star pieces, it doesn't generate as much. ( the pattern for me was: after 2 minutes, 1 egg and 2 star pieces. After that, 3 eggs, 1 starpiece, 1 egg) anyone knows why? or do I need to let them be for a couple more minutes?
Peanut butter seems to be something that you need atleast 4 League Gym badged to find in shops. Took me a good long while to actually figure that one out.

We can be happy, there are companys out there who sell games or addons for the games that won't work at all. 😂 I like to tell everyone who thinks Game Freak did so bad with all the technical stuff, please try to play Sims 4 with the Addons. What’s the limitations on this, so long as your switch stays powered- how long can this stay working? Does the basket cap out at a certain amount of eggs & does that affect the cap of the item? Currently have mine setup and wondering if all night will continue to work or if after X eggs it will stop ALSO… if you pull the items/eggs out (till the basket is empty) does it destroy the spawn? or will it continue to load into the basket as long as you don’t take the picnic down?

this is cool but a better method would be. find a Ability Patch and use the new dupe glitch to dupe it each patch is worth 125k and u can do 1 dupe decently quickly.
Save in front of a sparkling item, check what it is and if it’s a star piece then reload your save file, and then you’re back to the spelling item knowing that it’s a star piece.

Breeding eggs is not necessary, you can get the items without the eggs. It's just that the rate is a bit hit or miss

You can do this without making a sandwich nor waiting for a egg to be in the basket. I picked up a 3 pearls not waiting at least 10 minutes for it.
It works better if you breed two ditto, or a ditto and a ghimmighoul. This method will produce only star pieces and no eggs

The item goes first then the eggs so I can only get one at a time is there a fix for that? I tried changing positions of the picnic table and stuff

A thing I figured out through trial and error, it seems to work better if you STAY in front of the basket and DON'T MOVE or have any items equiped.

Ah yes the classic history of Pokemon glitches. Seems the majority of people have forgotten about stuff like box dupe glitches from way back when, Pokemon games have always had shit seeping through the cracks XD
About how long do you have to wait for this to really kick in? I went through the basket a few minutes after the sandwich and only got one Star Piece before only getting Eggs. Fortunately the item is still on the ground.
Tried this with iron tread and a male eevee w/ egg power 2 and only saw the star piece every 2 mins at minimum. Max varied....
Am I doing something wrong?

Every time you make any sandwich… the item in the basket duplicates.
So if you check before an egg appears just sandwich up.
There a respawn timer for the star piece ? Im only using lvl 1 egg power but after like 15-20 eggs I’ve only gotten like 4 star pieces
if you have just 1 pokemon, you will not have to deal with getting eggs mixed in with items

i noticed tho that you dont need the sandwitch for the items because it ONLY effects the egg (atleast i let it run for 30 min with and without and saw no difference in the amount of items
is the item part suppose to be random? Doesn't seem to trigger anymore after looting 2 from the basket.

There’s level 3 egg sandwiches and lvl 2 that are easy to make. Cool trick but I guess that would only help someone at beginning of game?

I've been doing this for a few days now. You don't need a compatible breeding pair. It's easier if they're not a breeding pair - That way you don't end up with accidental eggs.
This only works on glint items, not PokeBall items or TMs.
I have seen a glint item Comet Shard somewhere but I can't remember which zone it was. If someone can find a glint comet shard that would be the holy grail for this exploit!
Thank you for explaining this. I've been getting tons of eggs and no shards. I was using a ditto too. I've tried waiting 2-3-5-10 minutes. Need to re-adjust not make another sandwich. It's seems to be making 2-4 shards per 10 minutes. That's 90k average an hour for star shards. Idk I think it's better to just play the game but to take advantage of this when you breed.

For some reason the basket will give me like 3 eggs and 1 or 2 star pieces then it empties I think I'm doing something wrong any suggestions?

First of all, Idk why I can't seem to purchase peanut butter yet. So the other recipe for egg power 2 would be the following: watercress, basil, pickle, and Olive oil (Ultra Pickle Sandwich)
however, I also found a problem with after the first few star pieces, it doesn't generate as much. ( the pattern for me was: after 2 minutes, 1 egg and 2 star pieces. After that, 3 eggs, 1 starpiece, 1 egg) anyone knows why? or do I need to let them be for a couple more minutes?
Peanut butter seems to be something that you need atleast 4 League Gym badged to find in shops. Took me a good long while to actually figure that one out.

the dupe method is pretty safe honestly, since you can make the duped pokemon disapear when you have too much of them, but it's should be "safer" yeah

What’s the limitations on this, so long as your switch stays powered- how long can this stay working? Does the basket cap out at a certain amount of eggs & does that affect the cap of the item? Currently have mine setup and wondering if all night will continue to work or if after X eggs it will stop
ALSO… if you pull the items/eggs out (till the basket is empty) does it destroy the spawn? or will it continue to load into the basket as long as you don’t take the picnic down?

this can be used in tandem to the easy titan method so you can get to areas with more rare spawns

It doesn’t seem to be infinite. Seems to generate the items at the rate of spawning eggs. Is this correct, or am I doing something wrong?
Which makes it infinite as eggs spawn infinitely as long as you empty the basket. Anything is limited by time but on paper it is still infinite

this is cool but a better method would be. find a Ability Patch and use the new dupe glitch to dupe it each patch is worth 125k and u can do 1 dupe decently quickly.

I've been getting better results with bananas, butter and peanut-butter.

Save in front of a sparkling item, check what it is and if it’s a star piece then reload your save file, and then you’re back to the spelling item knowing that it’s a star piece.
