Fun fact:
HGSS has a VERY odd event with Arceus cuz you can trigger the event 2 times. This is because the game has, HARDCODED, that you can get 2/3 DPPlat Legends. But the odd part is, the event triggers ONCE for an event Arceus, which was the way people usually got it AND ONCE for an Arceus caught in DPPlat with the Azure Flute.
This means that it was ALWAYS intended for Arceus to be distributed on DPPlat, they just chose not to

i like the theory that the Arceus seen in game is just one hand or one arm of the one thousand arms because it's already canon it's just a fraction of arceus's true form and the idea of Arceus being part of an even larger Arceus is eldritch vibes and amazing

You forgot to mention that you need to have all Pokémon caught in the legends arceus pokedex and you also have to confront arceus, and you have to beat the elite four in either Pokémon brilliant diamond and shinning pearl in order for the azure flute to appear in your bedroom in either brilliant diamond or shinning pearl,while still having the save data for Pokémon legends arceus on your switch.
Everything true you said is covered at 7:32.
Only restriction that wasn't covered there is that you need to be Champion for the Azure Flute to work (not to get it) but that's barely a restriction considering how much progress is already necessary to reach the Spear Pillar.
You don't actually have to beat the elite four since I haven't even got my first badge and it was in the bedroom from the beginning

@@bradhaley8432 You misunderstood my reply. I was saying that what Shiny Catherine covered all the true stuff you said, and then explained the only thing that she didn't cover (which is still different than what you said: using vs getting).
Also, the other person's game was not hacked. Look at the video, the Azure Flute IS there on new saves. I personally got it around the 5th or 6th Gym (I'm not sure exactly when but I know it was pre-League because I beat the game a very long time later).

I have two theories on Arceus’s thousand arms.
1. Unown. 2. The form of Arceus we know.
I remembered when I hunted mine a few months back. I did runaways to help with future poffin making for ribbon mastery. The biggest excitement was the test captures here and there. Instead of Master Balling, I wnated a Luxury Ball. I had a Breloom that was perfect. Jolly and maxed out speed made him faster than even Jolly max speed IV Arceus, one X Sp Def allowed Breloom to tank Future Sight and Hyper Beam on the same turn, and one X Attack was enough for False Swipe to outdo Recover. Ball number 30, I got shiny that appeared after 12k encounters

I actually loved how lore heavy this video was! I can see why that wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally wouldn't be mad to see more of it in future videos.
I find it amazing how shiny hunters have a feeling their hunt was gonna end on that certain day and they are right, because that same thing happened to me while hunting for celebi in VC crystal
I like how BDSP can be speed ran to be able to obtain multiple Arceus
Of course to unlock Arceus within a speed run file you will need to have an already completed Legends Arceus file on the same account, catch the box legendary in each new save, and have seen every regional dex Pokemon
For unlocking National dex, I suggest seeing what Pokemon you don’t see via mandatory trainer battles and have them in home or another save to quickly send them to the speed run file, save, then send those Pokemon back to be reused for the next speed run save
Can’t wait for the true arceus form to be 1,000 worms with one big worm in the middle

I encourage everyone to play Honkai Impact 3rd, the story is truly beautiful and moving, it shook me to my core, I have never felt such a strong emotional connection with a video game in my life, the characters have deep and meaningful stories and I love them to bits. You just have to look past the fan service and the small translation issues. I love HI3 so much, it is truly a grand game that I will cherish for a long time and I will never stop singing its praises. And hey, we get a free Ellie, you can't say no to that.

I want to hear a professional shiny hunter’s opinion on this: I like shiny Pokemon, but I don’t like finding them. It’s not that I find it difficult and tedious, it’s the opposite: I find too many. I’ve gone out of my way to make them as hard to get as I can: I never got the shiny charm in any game, and in PLA I have no perfected dex entries (besides Arceus, but that doesn’t count) and avoid massive mass outbreaks if possible. The reason why is because I want shiny Pokemon to stay special. Every one of the 17 shinies I’ve found in my 5 years of playing has been unintentional, so I treasure every one of them. But with each one I find, they have less significance. And I hope to never find any duplicate shinies, which is a given for any shiny hunter. In fact, I will go out of my way not to evolve my shinies (unless the shiny is really bad until evolution, like Politoed) so that there’s less chance that I do end up having to stick with a duplicate shiny (i.e. if I get a shiny Geodude at one point, I won’t evolve it so if I find a shiny Graveler later, it’s not a duplicate shiny, and if I find another geodude I will evolve it).
Edit: the only shinies I go out of my way to get are the guaranteed ones, the first of which I got was the Peculiar Ponyta, and the most recent being the shiny munchlax you get from beating Ogre Oustin’ on the hardest difficulty

Update after my previous comment: I too Now have a Shiny Arceus. After (about) 5 total days of near constant soft resetting of my Shining Pearl cartridge my Wild encounter Arceus turned shiny! It's a Bashful nature was caught on 08/01/2024 and was caught in luxury ball. It's stat spread in terms of the in pc ratings are: HP: pretty good Attack: Best! Defense: Fantastic Sp.atk: Best! Sp.def: Best! Speed: pretty good. I am so happy to have this Pokémon. I'd like to thank Catherine for her videos inspiring me to persevere with this hunt in the event of this outcome.
I am currently at 12663 encounters on a single game, hunting on and off. The fact that you went "over odds" with just 200 ish encounters is heartbreaking but I must congratulate you aswell
I got a hacked version of Pokemon White 2 that my parents got from eBay and instead of getting a shiny Haxorus from Nature Preserve, it was a free shiny Arceus

The thing about the Regis was that they were easy as soon as you knew how to translate braille, which the games had a decoder for in their instruction booklet. My biggest difficulty with the puzzles as a kid was catching a Relicanth.
Watching this video and seeing your commitment to shiny hunting arcoos told me that I needed to start shiny hunting the sky lizard again and after three straight days of beep resetting I finally got him. Thank you for your commitment for Arceus so that I could start getting back into the the grind of shiny hunting
The fourth generation of Pokémon will always be my favorite. The first generation I really got in it. And it being released when I was in 3rd grade, there was so much mystery to it. So happy they expanded the universe with Legends.
I had a very similar experience :) got Pokémon platinum I believe during summer vacation after 3rd grade. Absolutely love that game and I was over the moon that we not only got the remakes but also legends Arceus announced at the same time!
The newer games have their problems, but I'll always find it cool how you can not only catch TWO Arceus now, but you can even have one normal and one shiny if you really want to.
If ya got both BD and SP you can get two shiny Arceus and then a normal from PLA

The reason that Arceus' entry doesn't quite match up is explained in Legends as it states it sends down an avatar of the god, not the god itself for you to catch

Yeah I mean ILCA made many mistakes making bdsp even though they just ported a ds game onto switch really. I think shiny charm only works on eggs in those games.
I plan on doing this shiny hunt too someday! I’m gonna need to mentally prepare more though cause 1/4096 and BDSP resets plus the cutscenes will probably make me go insane before even half odds LMAO
For reference about the odds, with a 1/4096 shiny odd you "only" have 63% chance to get a shiny with 4096 encounters. So the previous encounters made Catherine quite lucky!
This exact arceus was my first ever shiny reset hunt, I sat down, put on the show i was watching at the time and went to work, within an HOUR i got it, honestly the best moment EVER, been playing since pokemon yellow with bot a single random shiny encounter so was such an amazing feeling, glad you joined the club! :D love the vids btw keep up the awesome work and keep being you! :)

I'm not entirely sure Masuda wasn't being truthful. I hacked my flute in and it was really straight forward. He made it sound like we needed to play an OoT minigame or something for it to work, but no, you just have the flute in your inventory and go to the top of Mt. Coronet with it. It's more likely a bug prevented it from being distributed. I don't have my DPP copies anymore, but I wonder if you got the flute before doing the Mt. Coronet stuff, if the staircase to Hall of Origin would softlock the game and prevent progression.
Arceus is just such a special Pokémon. It in a lot of ways does feel like it’s truly _mythical._ I hunted my own shiny Arceus as well, and I made it a ribbon master as well, something I’ve never done for any other mon. I think because doing ribbon master felt right for a Pokémon as unique as shiny Arceus.

Beautiful shiny, stopped my resets a while ago but I’m about to pick back up again, especially after watching this.
I love Arceus and the shiny. It’s the only Pokemon I would ever put that much effort into hunting, and I did! I remember it clear as day, I was playing bloodborne on one screen and hunting on the other. After an early 2,764 resets, the golden boy was mine! I regret nothing and it’s great to see others appreciate Arceus too.

I found mine last year.
By my calculations, I went 5x over odds (I don’t count encounters) for it on a single game. I did the hunt over the course of 2 months over 2 Years.
Even worse, it actually nearly struggled to death. I’m lucky to even have it now due to that.
Since then, I’ve also hunted the creation trio, and they were ALL way faster, including my Dialga that I hunted in _Platinum._ Giratina I found on the last day before Palkia, and I almost mistook it for my (non-shiny) Luxray (brain was running a little slow that day).
I did this hunt about a year ago and omg was it so rewarding. 6844 encounters and caught it in a premier ball. My adrenaline was through the roof, I was so proud!

I actually acquired a shiny Arceus in original diamond by using the DNS trick to get the Azure flute, and by using a pre-prepared scizore, a haunter and gengar, and both diamond and pearl. This hunt took 2 days and 324 encounter, by far the fastest reset hunt I have ever had, becoming one of my most proud shinys.

An argument could be made that any arceus we catch is just one of those "thousand arms" since it refers to that as a 'piece of itself' when you obtain it in PLA.

I love that Legends: Arceus decided to focus on Arceus rather than the Creation Trio. In my opinion there’s always been less lore and storytelling when it came to Arceus; Legends changed that. Even then what makes PLA one of the best games is that they still kept Arceus shrouded in mystery while managing to tell a beautiful story.
I think it really says something about the state of shinies in modern pokemon when hitting 3D odds (half of 2D odds) using 3 consoles feels defeating right after including a clip of getting 4 shinies in SV in 30 minutes with no reaction.
It's kind of weird that scarlet and violet implemented arceus having sparkle sound effects when it walks but its kind of cool XD
Sooooo technically you did not go over odds, in terms of random odds yes you did go over the regular 1 in 4096 but In actuality you were massively under odds. Using three devices does in theory reduce the odds to be 1 in 1366 roughly. But in turn that now makes full odds at 12288. Mind you when you introduced the 3rd device it was at 3000 random encounters or 1500 resets per save file. You were close to random odds but introducing the third device you did indeed take the gamble of decreasing the random odds further but ran the risk of increasing the full odds.
Bottom line is you got the shiny llama super under odds which still is awesome 🎉🎉
You can also get a second level 1 legendary from the arceus event if you have the event arceus as well as one from the hall of origin. You can get one from the hall of origin through glitches
The fact they said that it wouldn't make sense for us to understand the azure flute but yet we figured out the ruby/sapphire regi puzzle WITHOUT internet....yeah the azure flute makes no sense

If you want a good way to run Arceus in SV, Stellar Tera with Acid Spray and Judgement is the ultimate swiss army knife for non event raids.
I decided it would be a fun idea to also hunt Arceus as my first shiny hunt and I got it after only 190 resets. I dont know if beginners luck is real but I had to get it somewhere.

I got mine 2 days ago after god knows how many it needed. I had one failed encounter as well because I didnt have a master ball then, so yea. The wait for the second one felt like an eternity. Your streams and posts gave me strength or stubborness, idk. Now I have to get Pokemon Scarlet to enjoy it in all its beauty.
I cant believe that to yhis day yhe official statement of why the Azure Flute was never released was confusion and difficulty, we had the Regis back then and then you have the evolution methods of modern day like Runerigus, Annihilape, and Ursaluna. But no, players cant figure out how to use a dang flute, thats too hard.
