Not sure why...not only is the increase lower (Adaptability boosts by 50%, Pixilate/Refrigerate/Aerilate/Galvanize/any others I've missed only boost the move by 20%), changing the move's type also removes the STAB boost (unless Tera is involved). Giving it, for example, Pixilate Double-Edge, gives it access to a Fairy move with an effective BP of 144 (120 * 1.2)...Adaptability Double-Edge, though, reaches an effective BP of 240 (120 * 2) and, in this case, it's slightly higher due to the Silf Scarf usage; in the case you'd normally be using Pixilate DE (say a Fighting type comes out), you'd be better served by using U-Turn and escaping (or hard-swapping, depending on Speed) instead of staying in and hoping that DE would be enough.
I love this idea! This made me think that I'd love a video where one of you gets to choose whatever you want and it gets its normal ability. The other has to choose the worst pokemon but can give it whatever ability they want. Give the scrubs a chance to take down the titans
@@joeschof_95, it doesn't get the boost to its Electric moves, but Hadron Engine has the secondary effect of boosting the Special Attack of the user, so that was his main usage for it (he could've used Tera to become grounded).
@@joeschof_95, no worries. I've always found that Electric Terrain in particular is hard to make work out well (which then colored my choice between Scarlet and Violet), since terrains in general are so hard to make useful...three of them have interactions with types that have immunities (Psychic and Electric are affected negatively, Misty affects Fairies positively, and Grassy has no interactions with immunity) and they're much harder to make work for your team as a whole (whereas weather is easier to maintain and has wider-reaching effects...and, with some luck, you can pivot mid-team to the other).

This made me think that I'd love a video where one of you gets to choose whatever you want and it gets its normal ability. The other has to choose the worst pokemon but can give it whatever ability they want. Give the scrubs a chance to take down the titans
Am I wrong in thinking kilowattrel doesn’t even get the boost from electric terrain since it’s not touching the ground?
@@joeschof_95, it doesn't get the boost to its Electric moves, but Hadron Engine has the secondary effect of boosting the Special Attack of the user, so that was his main usage for it (he could've used Tera to become grounded).
@@Alsebra true yeah I forgot about that, it’s still not as good as when miridon has it but not as bad as I originally thought
I think you guys should have a broken vs garbage video, where one of you guys picks the best starter with random abilities, and one of you guys chooses the worst with chosen good abilities
Great concept using the less seen Pokemon in these type of videos!
