Alpha's kind of the reason I got back into comics. I've slowly started to accumulate a small collection of my own. So far my focus has been Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. I have a few volumes of Spiderman, Captain America, Captain Marvel/Ms Marvel and Superman wedge in there as well. PS. You have got to do an updated room and shelf tour some time, Alpha.
I got back into comics after i see people online like comics so i felt that i wasn't alone and that i can get them online. It's better to collect them in trades aka graphic novels in my opinion.
that's honestly pretty cool, i always liked the little random things he would have on his shirt in every panel lol hell some of those would make for good tattoos
No Kingdom Come? All-Star Superman? Superman: Red Son? Superman: Birthright? and pretty much other important Superman books. But I gotta say man, you have a pretty amazing Batman collection :D
I have that book, was damn impressed with it too. The Flashpoint series reminded me a bit of a modernized version of elseworlds. The concept of batman with Superman's powers is pretty crazy, that and just tweaking a few things can make such a big difference
I had no idea they were still being printed today. That's pretty impressive. I honestly think I would have to buy like an entire lot of them since I'm the type that likes to read endlessly whenever i can. Still the first 2 issues were amazing and everyone i know that got into it said it truly is worth the investment
lol it really was wobbly, I ended up using a few nails in certain areas to support it better. Eventually whenever I get the extra time I just wanna build a few custom shelves for all my books and games etc
There's a lot to go with but I would say Year One and Dark Knight Returns are a good place to start. Then move onto other books like The Killing Joke, Blind Justice, and Knightfall. There's plenty of others but that's a good start
Wow... Never heard of you before never seen a video from you before ran into you just now and fell in LOVE with the intro.... it's just awesome for any real gamer. 8bit pwns.
You have no idea how much I want Berserk honestly. There's just sooooo many of them lol I had issue 1 and 2 and that was it :\ Love the hell out of the anime
I did and was well worth the read. Lent it to a friend of mine not to long ago, hope he actually read it. Really good stuff, much more gritty and serious in overall tone than I expected
Do you have or have you done a video on your 'must read' comic books or top 10? I'm starting to get into comic books and feel so overwhelmed, so a video like that would be awesome.
I don't sadly :\ I wanna get that and a few of the books where they envision Batman as a vampire in some of the elseworld comics. Was pretty neat stuff
I have wanted to get knightfall for awhile now. especially since they reprinted it. really really good especially since that arc has had so much impact on batman. ive actually read the death of superman to a whole ton while growing up thus why i haven't picked it up. like if i saw it for super cheap i would snag it for sure
I bought Johnny The Homicidal Maniac Director's Cut hardcover book because of your review. Thank you for showing off your cool collection! I highly recommend Sandman by Neil Gaiman and Monocyte by Menton3 i think youd really dig thos.
@AlphaOmegaSin Awesome collection man. I do have a couple recommendations for you for your collection. Fahrenheit 451 the graphic novel is awesome and just like the book... yes, it was authorized by Ray Bradbury as well shockingly. The walking dead series, most kickass zombie fiction I have ever read and finally, The dark tower comic books/The Stand comic books, both series are based on their books exactly and add so much to them that I can't recommend them enough!
Great collection man! Nice to see another nightwing fan. My suggestions for future would be: Batman Knightfall/quest/end: very good trilogy that show just how dark batman could become The death of superman trilogy: it starts off kinda boring but by the second book it really picks up and the final book was a really great read for me.and as far as new comics are concerned i am really enjoying red hood and the outlaws. It's nice to see 100% original made out of familiar characters.
yeah damian is an asshole at the start but i honestly liked it that way. both batman and robin were so different compared to past versions so it was pretty refreshing, especially the new villains they tossed at them and seeing how they worked against some of the established ones
I am currently building my own Batman graphic novel collection...getting the staple graphic novels for Christmas and my birthday...the staples being, Long Halloween, Year One, Dark Knight Returns, Hush, Killing Joke, etc... I am very excited
Epic collection man! And I thought I had a lot! You been reading the Death of the Family arc? Was a brilliant Batman/Joker story, sure you'd enjoy it dude.
Cool collection. My friend has gotten me into reading comics. lol I was'nt a big comic fan before but now she's got me hooked on reading Thor/Loki and Silver Surfer. I've recently ordered the Silent Hill: Sinners Reward comic cause I heard it's the best out of the HORRIBLE disaster that is Silent Hill comics. I read the first page of Sinners Reward and knew I had to have it, being a Silent Hill fan. It can't be any worse tha Dying Inside or Dead/Alive....
Just started actually collecting and first two purchases were killing joke and dark knight returns looking for suggestions on how to actually expand my collection and which way to go in ... I'm more about the stories than making money but have also picked up a couple of 1st edition comics just really looking for some guidance
Although the chance of being replied to is very slim, I'd like to ask you something Alpha, I'm thinking about starting to read Batman graphic novels and I would like to know your opinion on which one should I try and buy to start it all off?
I really like your comic book videos i would like to see more. I was surprised that you didnt have batman knightfall. Great book and perfect with the movie coming out.
a lot it seems, btw AlphaOmegaSin you may want to try out the darkness comic collection, i am halfway through it myself, also sandman is a great oldies classic you may want to check out too.
My favorite of all time was the dark knight returns but the sequel was really bad ;(such a disappointment.Im reading the flashpoint batman now off of your last recommendations from your last comic book pick up I think. Nemesis was pretty messed up and so agree with the story in it, did you read superior?
Hey man, love your videos. I love your comic collection, but think your missing a few things. I saw you had R.I.P. and Battle for the Cowl, but have you read any of the other books in Grant Morrison's run? Batman: The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul, Batman & Robin: Batman Reborn, Batman & Robin: Batman vs. Robin, Batman & Robin: Batman & Robin Must Die!, Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne and Batman: Incorporated.
Do you collect elseworld stuff? My favorite is one called Superman: Speeding Bullets where they combined Batman and Superman into one character, I liked it because of the fact that it was more like like a all DC character Amalgam book.
I didn't read many comics growing up. I was more into video games and watching anime. However, JTHM is on of my favorite books. I have read that book countless times. I loved it so much I got a Z? tattoo on my shoulder.
I recognize the shelf you got to store all your books on. I used to have that same kind. It was a piece of crap lol. It collapsed over on its side in the middle of the night making me jump out of bed thinking someone was breaking into my house hahaha. Just giving you a heads in case it's wobbly. Lol
You shoud add Knightfall and Earth One to your Batman collection. Also, check out more Superman. I would recommend All Star and Kingdom Come. Not a Marvel fan, are you? If you want more Marvel, check out the Chris Claremont's X-Men, Frank Miller's Daredevil, Civil War, House of M and The Infinity Gauntlet ( if you want events ).
i genuinely have only seen them once when i was out and they wanted full price for em so i passed. i do wanna get them though, especially since as of right now i'm nearing episode 500 of the anime 0___0
Hey Alpha, I have a question. Have you read any of the Turok Comics? Because I think you might like them if you haven't. He also has a few video games; but the most recent installment sucks so don't play that one.
Just like video game cases, do you hate having that extra logo marking like those on your Priest books? It irks me because they aren't all the same label x_x
I was saddened to notice no Bone books, Walking Dead, Bluntman and Chronic, or the Kevin Smith written Batman books. Seeing The Boondocks on the same shelf as Evil Ernie mad up for it though. Great collection.
hey alpha ive always liked comics but never read them which would you recommend specifically batman and spiderman and what do you think of the dbz mangas answer if you can
Walking dead i haven't bought cause my friend literally owns em all lol ive read all his a few times now when i got to his place and crash for the night. bonee i have never read at all actually but it has caught my eye.
Battle Angel Alita, Vinland Saga, Monster, 20th Century Boys, Dorohedoro, Bastard!!, Flame of Recca, Parasyte, Great Teacher Onizuka, Kekkaishi, Ichi the Killer, Sanctuary, Vagabond, Soul Eater, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, KAIJI, Hunter x Hunter, Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Lone Wolf and Cub, Detroit Metal City, Kongou Bancho (lol) and majority of Osamu Tezuka's works such as Phoenix, Adolf and Black Jack are manga's you should check out :)
The berserk manga is at least 10 times more awesome and the manga is continuing to this day. So you could buy the first 10 volumes and continue reading the rest till you get the money for what's already printed in English.
lol It's a statue not a doll, also I own the individual comics, not any of the graphic novels. Why would I own a statue of a character if I didn't read his comics?
Great video im trying to build my batman collection I just picked up batman battle for the cowl but someone told me I should read final crises first is that true or does it not matter.
Really enjoy this video, I keep coming back to it for reference - I'm slowing building my own Batman collection with this as a handy guide :D

I absolutely agree, hell I go out of my way to find anything that he writes in the batman comic world just because he's so creative.
That's a LOT of Batman. I like the leather HC of Frank Miller, and now I will spend money...
Can you do and update for 2015?
+PonAdidas Dude, i just wanted to make the same request...
Merry x-mas
lol it really was wobbly, I ended up using a few nails in certain areas to support it better. Eventually whenever I get the extra time I just wanna build a few custom shelves for all my books and games etc

I loved batman a death to a family. Faceless joker was a bit scary because just how creepy and sadistic he was
Wow... Never heard of you before never seen a video from you before ran into you just now and fell in LOVE with the intro.... it's just awesome for any real gamer. 8bit pwns.
I've only read the first issue, seen all the episodes of the animated series though and loved the hell out of it
You have no idea how much I want Berserk honestly. There's just sooooo many of them lol I had issue 1 and 2 and that was it :\ Love the hell out of the anime
Alpha, I know you probably won't read this, but could you do a review of the crow comic?
I did and was well worth the read. Lent it to a friend of mine not to long ago, hope he actually read it. Really good stuff, much more gritty and serious in overall tone than I expected
Do you have or have you done a video on your 'must read' comic books or top 10? I'm starting to get into comic books and feel so overwhelmed, so a video like that would be awesome.
We need an updated video! This collection must be twice the size by now!
I don't sadly :\ I wanna get that and a few of the books where they envision Batman as a vampire in some of the elseworld comics. Was pretty neat stuff
I have wanted to get knightfall for awhile now. especially since they reprinted it. really really good especially since that arc has had so much impact on batman. ive actually read the death of superman to a whole ton while growing up thus why i haven't picked it up. like if i saw it for super cheap i would snag it for sure
thanks alphaomegasin I was always into comic books and especially batman. You also told me a few really good comic books that i didnt even know about
I bought Johnny The Homicidal Maniac Director's Cut hardcover book because of your review. Thank you for showing off your cool collection! I highly recommend Sandman by Neil Gaiman and Monocyte by Menton3 i think youd really dig thos.

Finally a trigun lover! Badass collection bro
You should do a video showing us around your whole room! I think that would be pretty sweet!
nice collection. love your little tribute to joker and harley.
yeah damian is an asshole at the start but i honestly liked it that way. both batman and robin were so different compared to past versions so it was pretty refreshing, especially the new villains they tossed at them and seeing how they worked against some of the established ones
I am currently building my own Batman graphic novel collection...getting the staple graphic novels for Christmas and my birthday...the staples being, Long Halloween, Year One, Dark Knight Returns, Hush, Killing Joke, etc... I am very excited
mrchuck1595 I hate peoples like you who don't actually read comics you just "collect" them because you think it makes you cool
Epic collection man! And I thought I had a lot! You been reading the Death of the Family arc? Was a brilliant Batman/Joker story, sure you'd enjoy it dude.
Yes! A fellow Hack/Slash fan!
Have you been following Witch Doctor?
Squee is really really good, my second favorite series he ever did besides JTHM
You mean the one from the action comics series?
Transmetropolitan is amazing.. I have 5 of the paperbacks I think thats half the series gotta get the other half soon
Cool collection. My friend has gotten me into reading comics. lol I was'nt a big comic fan before but now she's got me hooked on reading Thor/Loki and Silver Surfer. A whole lot of people, telling you some of the people would honestly give some spoilers away though so you may wanna just read it.
Paul Dini's batman friggin defined my childhood.
I think death was reading the necronomicon haha. Also trigun and hellsing all the way!!!
Damn, I'm curious what your collection is looking like nowadays.
Awesome collection!! I need to start doing my collection too!!

if you can check out Tower of Babel next, that is another really good story and also the omac project

Awesome Evil Ernie Figure. I have a few of his older comics.

My favorite of all time was the dark knight returns but the sequel was really bad ;(such a disappointment.Im reading the flashpoint batman now off of your last recommendations from your last comic book pick up I think. Nemesis was pretty messed up and so agree with the story in it, did you read superior?
"Batman: Year One" & "Batman: The Long Halloween" are my favorites by far
Do you know what's the reading order of the batman graphic novels ?
what comics would you recomend? and if you have a dvd collection that would be cool to see.
Hey man, love your videos. I love your comic collection, but think your missing a few things. I didn't read many comics growing up. I was more into video games and watching anime. However, JTHM is on of my favorite books. I have read that book countless times. I loved it so much I got a Z? tattoo on my shoulder.
definatly check out more Ben Templesmith(wormwood) books.
30 days of night, fell, all great stuff
I recognize the shelf you got to store all your books on. I used to have that same kind. It was a piece of crap lol. "Batman Year One" & The Long Halloween" are my favorites by far
Hey Alpha, I have a question. Have you read any of the Turok Comics? Because I think you might like them if you haven't. He also has a few video games; but the most recent installment sucks so don't play that one.
damn, and I thought I was a fan
amazing collection bro
Right off the bat..Hellsing one of my all time favourites.
(that pun was actually not intended)
Just like video game cases, do you hate having that extra logo marking like those on your Priest books? It irks me because they aren't all the same label x_x
I'd love to start getting into graphic novels and comics- got any suggestions on where to start?
I was saddened to notice no Bone books, Walking Dead, Bluntman and Chronic, or the Kevin Smith written Batman books. Seeing The Boondocks on the same shelf as Evil Ernie mad up for it though. Great collection.
Hush and the Long Halloween are good too.
hey alpha ive always liked comics but never read them which would you recommend specifically batman and spiderman and what do you think of the dbz mangas answer if you can
I recently picked up Spider-Girl (volumes 0-8 in one book), Spider-Man: Season One, Batman RIP, and Gotham City Sirens: Strange Fruit.
Walking dead i haven't bought cause my friend literally owns em all lol ive read all his a few times now when i got to his place and crash for the night. bonee i have never read at all actually but it has caught my eye.
i actually have held off on those cause I wanted first printings of em all. I have read em all cept Sin City
Extremely jealous of your Trigun kitty. I love that cat
Incredible collection.. Thank you for sharing
Manga is all about storylines. They are the main part. Have you read death note or battle royale? Two brilliant plots with highly complex storylines.
OMFG WHERED U FIND THAT BOONDOCKS BOOK ME WANT ME WANT!!!
hey alpha, have you read i luv halloween yet? it's one of the most twisted graphic novels i've ever read
I OFFICIALLY LOVE YOU
Great video, lots of good tips. Thanks for sharing!
Have you read SQUEE?
will he do a update on his comic book collection
The berserk manga is at least 10 times more awesome and the manga is continuing to this day. So you could buy the first 10 volumes and continue reading the rest till you get the money for what's already printed in English.
lol It's a statue not a doll, also I own the individual comics, not any of the graphic novels. Why would I own a statue of a character if I didn't read his comics?
Its so nice to see a comic book enthusiast that is willing to take figures out the box for display purposes :D
How do you feel about the Court of Owls?
Great video im trying to build my batman collection I just picked up batman battle for the cowl but someone told me I should read final crises first is that true or does it not matter.
***** Cool thanks man
Also if you like Mark Millar check out Wolverine: Enemy of the State. Best Wolverine book out there, and one of the best Marvel comics ever!
awesome collection man.
from Brazil
You have great taste and batman is amazing
dark knight returns is my favorite graphic novel. I am a big batman graphic novel collecter!
fell is the only one i'm not familar with. ive read wormwood book 2 and 30 days of night is definitely cool as hell

NICE!!! Thanks for the vid man.
Okay, so I just got into reading comics recently. The only problem is, is that I've got no clue where to start when attempting to buy comics
