@@MrLorenzoVids I use Billys and Kallax from IKEA. We are actually going to make a video on our trip to IKEA sometime next month and picking the right bookshelf.
This must be your FIRST collection tour! What impresses me the most is your knowledge about the stories, writers, artists, and what it doesn't collect in books! I love the way you start off the video as invites new indie books to men. I truly appreciate your videos, Omar! It takes a lot of hard work to create, write, film and edit your videos. Bravo!
Thank you to everyone that took the time to watch the tour of Omar's books. We really can't believe this video has gotten over 3,000 views! Don't forget to check out our weekly show and to keep watching for more tour episodes. With Omar's manga and European books.
Oh wow!! That is a lot of books. I think this is the baddest collection I have ever seen!! Awesome! Must have taken ages to build up. Appreciate the video, thanks for taking the time to do it.
Thank you for the kind words, good sir. It did take years to beef up my library, but I think it was well worth it. I'll be doing my manga and European book collection tour sometime in the near future. BTW, one day you will get that Zack!
Thank you, brother. I've been collecting collected editions for 15 years and I hope one day Marvel collects all our X-men in omni or hell I'll take OHCs.
Thank you for the comment, brother. I had to call Amazon three times and Barnes and Noble once for them to honor the prices. If it wasn't for that glitch my collection would have just been the X-men collections.
I need to watch this video again later, along with ones posted by other RUclipsrs, so that I can start making a list of suggested reading material lol because there are so many comics on here that i've never even heard of, then things like Hellboy that I know of, but have yet to get into. Just got my first bookcase in the mail last week and have a second one coming in today, so I hope to have my books and comics set up like this in the near future. It really makes it far easier to find what you want to read at any given time.
I sold most of my comics (Still kept my Uncanny and all the X-titles) a few years ago and went the HC and omnibus way and never looked back. There are so many damn series that I can recommend. Like even if someone were to ask for a top 10, I could perhaps do a TOP 25. That is, of course my opinion. Let me know when you got your set up all up and going.
This is a massive library! Thanks for showing it off, man. It's great to see Marvel reprinting the more obscure books like the Byrne Alpha Flight omnibus and the Excalibur epic collection.
Yes, I completely agree. That 90s era is finally getting some love, because honestly there were some great gems there. Bring on New Warriors Volume 2 and Darkhawk Omnis!!!! :)
I know lots of people aren't fans of the Compendiums because of their build, but I happen to really like them. I have my Rising Stars, Witchblade and Darkness still. Just in softcover not HC.
Great collection dude. Seeing different peoples collections always shows different strengths in areas they really like and your horror collection is just great. I def need to get on the IDW stuff especially turtles and transformers. The problem has always been a lack of time!!!!
Thank you for watching and the comment. I completely understand the whole lack of time. Usually I wait till the kids are asleep before I read...and that's if I'm not playing videogames. I highly recommend the IDW Transformers and Turtles. We have an upcoming episode on why You MUST read IDW Transformers.
That's an impressive collection. You are the first person I found that got Inferno OHC less then I did. I got it for 37 off ebay before it was OOP and after someone needed money.
Do you prefer the Hellboy library over the Omnibus, simply because the Omnibus is only paperback? I'm trying to decide which. I like the library better, but it's more expensive and I cant find every volume. But I feel like the omnibus editions would be too thick for a paperback.

Amazing video. I’m new to comics and maybe you can help me with a couple of questions. Where or how do you find out release schedules for omnibus or absolute editions, etc.? Also, you mentioned that you sell some of your stuff. What sites are good to buy and sell aftermarket books other than eBay or amazon or are those the standards? Thanks in advance.
Joe, welcome to this wonderful crazy world of comics. The advance solicitations usually come out three to four months before the omni is released. We usually do something called amazon fishing where we look for new books. As far as selling. I actually made a video on where to sell your books other than amazon and ebay.
Correct, they did. However the Hardcovers and the new trades are missing a couple of things that I hope they add to the omnibus. But that's just wishful thinking on my part. :)
They haven't announced an omnibus, but it's just my wishful thinking. Everything else Morrison has done has gotten an omnibus or Absolute edition at DC.
I've picked up the first of the newly released volumes, but haven't gotten around to the rest yet. I just can't help but think how strange it is that with things like Justice League Detroit getting an Omnibus, Grant Morrison's JLA run doesn't seem to be getting one anytime soon. You'd think that with the Justice League film about to come out that they'd be taking this time to throw it back out in Omnibus format, like they're doing with Justice League International.
I have an odd questions for you NMC: when a book comes out in a couple of volumes, like Maus, or Persepolis, do you think it makes a difference in impact whether one reads them in separate volumes versus one omnibus edition? I'm looking to get some but can't decide whether to invest in them individually or in collected volumes. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
Kevin, first of all thank you for watching. I prefer to read things in one sitting, when I'm at home. When I'm traveling I love taking trade paperbacks (easier to carry and pack). Omnibuses get quite heavy to lug around. But at least to me the omnibus treatment of a series is the definitive edition of the comic. I hope that helps.
I will be happy to do that. i thought about it in the past but I people have asked and I think I'm ready to make that video. So keep an eye out on the channel and thank you for watching.
Awesome collection. (Maybe I missed it, if so then sorry) highly recommend u get Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis NEW 52 Aquaman. The art is breath taking, the detail is exquisite, the art alone can tell the story. Plus Johns is amazing with origins and everything he does. I mostly read DC. Have about 60 DC trades and most of them are Geoff Johns books, Aquaman is probably my favourite series, definitely the best of the new 52. (Haven’t read darkseid war yet tho, and haven’t finished ‘Night of Owls). Loved your collection!!
Charles, thank you so much for watching. I own the NU52 books, but have only read the first 10 issues of Aquaman. That is on my list of books to read this year.
Hey Omar! I just saw at the end of your (Omnibus, & Graphic Novel) video, you had the marvel Ultimates, G.I.Joe & Transformers. I was wondering if you would do a separate video on those books only please? I loved those characters in their cartoons. Thanks so much Craig Irons
Awesome collection man ! But the things that are always missing from many great collections such as yours is some 2000ad which if you haven't read any of it yet i highly recommend Judge Dredd , Rogue Trooper , Nemesis the Warlock and Zenith
I ended up picking Zenith up. When I do an updated collection this October, I can show it off. Where would I start on Judge Dredd? There is just so much out there?
Near Mint Condition I'd say start with Judge Dredd Origins and America these will fill you in on how everything has become the way it is and how dredd started out and then read case files 1 and 5 and then if you like it you could read all the case files and read other stories such as Mega City Zero or Blessed Earth or newer things like Deep End and Urban Warfare , hope this helped !
@@NearMintCondition yay I have been. Binge watching your old stuff its great god damn I love comics and your channel of course lol um when do you think we could see it lol just curious sorry lol
Dylan thank you for commenting. I did upload a video of all my DC Rebirth HCs about a month or so ago. I freaking love them! You can check out the video on the channel.
so i've been wanting to get into graphic novels , but i do not know where to start . any recommendations you may offer? Marvel & DC been reading just to let you know .
It really depends on what you like. For example my first trade paperback was Batman Year 2. I bought it because I had the first three comics and was missing the fourth book. I decided this was a better way for me to collect my comics. So instead of buying comics I trade waited. If you are into Marvel and DC. I suggest one of the Marvel Epic lines like Captain America or Avengers. The DC Rebirth books have been a ton of fun to read and I highly suggest reading some of those. Specially Batman, Detective, Flash, Titans and Action Comics. They are releasing deluxe Hardcovers collecting the first 12 comics of each title starting this summer. If you want to dive a little into the Marvel and DC tpbs I would suggest: Batman: the Killing Joke, X-men: God Loves Man Kills and Runaways because its so new reader friendly. I hope I was able to help a bit.
I am curious if your binded Excalibur collection includes the one-shots and Erik Larsen's story from Marvel Comics Presents or is this just the series itself?
I tend to go for Hardcovers and omnis if I really like a story. As I mentioned in the video Cable and Deadpool I bought several times. Started with the comics then the trades, then the ultimate editions and finally the omnibus. Some collections are only offered in TPB format though such as the case with most of the 90s DC titles or lesser known titles like Avengers Academy or New Mutants. It depends on how you like to read too. Holding those omnis and absolutes can get tiring unless you read them in bed so TPBs are nice for comfort. I hope that helps you.
Near Mint Condition Sweet I look forward to it bet you got some nice additions this year. Still cannot believe that Inferno buy what a steal it’s one of those holy grails I am desperate to get it.
Near Mint Condition I think it would be a wise profitable move on there part it’s been years since the original release, especially after a very successful Mutant Massacre Omnibus last year.
One more question (sorry) Have you ever read any of The Amory Wars? Published by Boom! And written by Claudio Sanchez, frontman for Coheed and Cambria?
Quick questions: In terms of the Catwoman books. What are those collections called? Cant seem to find them. Caught my interest that the books continue the numbering even though it changes runs.
Near Mint Condition I got the 3 by Chuck Dixon but they need to go up to the Gail Simone run which I would like to read maybe one day it'll release those I loved Gail run on Batgirl that she did for the new 52
The original? It's the Ultimate editions. Make sure you get the HCs and not the softcover books: www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-Collection/dp/1613770073/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Absolutely you can. You can even do a mix of tpbs and single issues. I have an episode coming out on Monday that will show my monthly haul and in it you can see some custom binds that are only tpbs, only single issues and a mix of single issues, tpbs and hard covers.
That's awesome! Cuz I'm planning on getting a custom bind of Greg Rucka's rebirth run of Wonder Woman in the trade paperback ordering of issues. Thing is, I started collecting the single issues late and am missing the first 8 issues, hence why I'd like use the trades instead.
You can mix and match, just take out the actual cover of the tpb. They come off easier than I though since it's just glue holding them together. If you have any questions, just hit me up.
Absolutely! I just gotta find out what/how I want this binding done first. I literally just discovered custom binding yesterday, so I need to do some research!
Actually, that could be an idea for another episode: Tips/advice/various options of custom binding comics...unless you're already planning on doing that haha
Orteth, Thank you for watching. I usually have them stored the way that they are shown in this video. I have been collecting omnis for over 12 years and the heaviest omnis I own (Thor, Amazing Spidey 1 and Infinite Crisis) don't have any problems. Just the ridiculous glue binding that they used on Infinite Crisis.
Thanks for the answer! I read somewhere that some guys were havig poroblems even with the sewed ones, exactly because of the weight of some of them. They even used post it or pieces of cardboard to try to mitigate the weight problem. But thanks again!
I can't really speak for them, but I've never had any issues with mine. And some have had multiple readings. The only ones I can think of that had problems were the Top Cow Witchblade and Darkness Hard Cover collections. Those things came apart before the first reading.
I read digital comics and then if I really like something I will buy the collected edition. I buy just a couple of floppies a month if it's a main event I really can't wait to read. I also read manga and European comics. And sometimes when I have time, I read a book :)
I always strongly recommend the EC books. They are now being published by Dark Horce as the EC collection. Such as Tales From the Crypt, Haunt of Fear and Vault of Horror. Anything by Junji Ito always manages to creep me out like his Museum of Terror, Uzumaki, Gyo or Tomie. I really have enjoyed the Creepy and Eerie collections. I hope that helps.
Thank you and to each their own, my dood. I liked his DD and Powers and I think his Miles Morales is the best thing he wrote, but I just can't dig his other works. It's not for lack of trying either.
Selling blood and plasma brother. Honestly, I've been collecting collected editions for over a decade. Sold most of my comic single issues, because I'd rather have them on a shelf.
Thank you for watching. The shelf is the IKEA Billy. Which you can just get online or go to an IKEA store. My Billys do have the shelf extensions, though.
I would say about 75% of my collection I have read. I have a hard time catching up with monthly releases that I still buy. I thought about waiting and playing catch up.
I'll be honest. I have thought about this for years. If something were to happen like that. I Couldn't start over. I would stick to digital and call it a day. :)
@@NearMintCondition Sure thing. The first thing that comes to mind for most people when thinking 2000ad is of course Judge Dredd, which is fortunately collected in chronological order in the so called "Complete Case Files". The thing is, originally the comic was aimed at a younger audience and thus it took some time for it to mature and achieve it's full potential, hence why vol 1 of the "Complete Case Files" might be a rocky start for newcomers. "America" might be a good place to start if you're interested in Dredd. Judge Anderson, a side character of Dredd has her own comic series as well which are being collected under "The Complete Psi Files". You can't go wrong with Slaine, written by Patt Mills, as it is based on Celtic mythology and features some of the best artwork around. "The Horned God" in particular is a must have, and a good starting point, with gorgeous fully-painted art by Simon Bisley. Then you've got The A.B.C. Warriors which are bad-ass robots with distinct personalities that are designed to withstand Atomic, Bacterial and Chemical warfare, hence the name. Since they're personalities are so far apart from each other, it tends to generate conflicts between them that are often times comical. Timeline with this guys goes all over the place though since they're robots and can live on through centuries if not millennia. It's being collected under the name "Mek Files". If you want to delve more into the post-apocalyptic you've got Strontium Dog. A bounty hunter who travels through the Cursed Earth, a vast wasteland that exists outside the walls of Mega-City One. Nemesis the Warlock is also highly recommended with great writing by Pat Mills and generally features insanely good artwork. It's been collected under "The Complete Nemesis The Warlock". Button Man is a self contained story that despite having been published by 2000ad, it exists outside of the 2000ad universe. It's an excellent action packed thriller with near perfect pacing, written by John Wagner and illustrated by Arthur Ranson, well worth a read. It's been collected under the name "Get Harry Hex". If you want to delve more into the wacky and bizarre you can find Devlin Waugh, a body-building camp homosexual exorcist priest, employed by the future Vatican City, who's also a vampire. Go figure... Collected in the volumes "Swimming in Blood" and "Red Tide", and it features some great fully painted art by Sean Phillips. Shakara is also very good. Written by Robbie Morrison and with great art by Henry Flint, it is set in a time where humanity has been extinguished, and it follows this cool looking and enigmatic character by the name of Shakara who travels the galaxy on a quest to take revenge upon those responsible for the destruction of it's people. I must have forgotten a bunch of other characters, such as the Rogue Troopers, Zenith, Bad Company, etc. But it's already enough to give you an idea of 2000ad as a whole.
@@NearMintCondition the 1990s Russ Cochran/Gemstone reprints were the first comics I collected. I was a kid then. And I had the original black and white hardcover EC Library. Awesome stuff. My favorite title was Crime SuspenStories.

Awesome you have Battle chasers! it was great :D
Oh yes! I love me some Joe Madureira!
Hey Omar! I just saw at the end of your (Omnibus, & Graphic Novel) video, you had the marvel Ultimates, G.I.Joe & Transformers. I was wondering if you would do a separate video on those books only please? I loved those characters in their cartoons.
Thanks so much
Craig Irons
I would be happy to do that sometime.
@@NearMintCondition Awesome! Thanks Omar.
Near Mint Condition I'd say start with Judge Dredd Origins and America these will fill you in on how everything has become the way it is and how dredd started out and then read case files 1 and 5 and then if you like it you could read all the case files and read other stories such as Mega City Zero or Blessed Earth or newer things like Deep End and Urban Warfare , hope this helped !
okay I have noted those. Thank you so much, seriously. I have seen the artist centric collections and almost dove into those.
Finally I hope you do more I was trying to . find a vid for. Comic tour vid I've been surffiyng the playlist. Area lol
LOL I think it's time to do an updated tour.
@@NearMintCondition yay I have been. Binge watching your old stuff its great god damn I love comics and your channel of course lol um when do you think we could see it lol just curious sorry lol
I will do an updated tour in April :) Thank you for watching.
@@NearMintCondition your welcome I hope you guys get big soon your so kind to everyone man keep up the amazing vids
Also wondering: can we see your DC rebirth collection (assuming you have one) and maybe hear your thoughts on it?
Dylan thank you for commenting. I did upload a video of all my DC Rebirth HCs about a month or so ago. I freaking love them! You can check out the video on the channel.
Found it right after I asked Haha. Thanks!
Great collection.
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
How many years you take to collect this
so i've been wanting to get into graphic novels , but i do not know where to start . any recommendations you may offer?
Sir Uly i started out with batman the long halloween and watchmen
Great suggestions.
dc's "earth one" books are a great starting point in my opinion
I am curious if your binded Excalibur collection includes the one-shots and Erik Larsen's story from Marvel Comics Presents or is this just the series itself?
It does include the one shots. I was crazy. :)
I'm never sure wether to buy a hardcover or paperback when it comes to comics or graphic novels, any advice orrrr anything? Thanks
Beautiful Bro 👍
smerdp thank you so much. I plan to doing an updated tour early next year.
Near Mint Condition Sweet I look forward to it bet you got some nice additions this year. Still cannot believe that Inferno buy what a steal it’s one of those holy grails I am desperate to get it.
I have a strong feeling that Inferno will be rereleased as an omnibus.
Near Mint Condition I think it would be a wise profitable move on there part it’s been years since the original release, especially after a very successful Mutant Massacre Omnibus last year.
One more question (sorry)
Have you ever read any of The Amory Wars? Published by Boom! And written by Claudio Sanchez, frontman for Coheed and Cambria?
I have not read any of Armory Wars.
If you ever get the chance, I recommend it! I do believe they are currently out of print, unfortunately.
@@dylanbrown5087 I will have to keep an eye for them then. Thank you.
Quick questions:
In terms of the Catwoman books. What are those collections called? Cant seem to find them. Caught my interest that the books continue the numbering even though it changes runs.
This is the line of books you are looking for Catwoman by Brubaker:
www.amazon.com/Catwoman-Vol-1-Trail/dp/1401233848/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Sorry for yet another question!
Which/what company/website would you recommend to use for custom binding?
Houchen Library is what I've used in the past.
Hey Omar which birds of prey run do you have to Chuck Dixon or Gail Simone?
I have both...but sadly there are only three Chuck Dixon tpbs collecting his run. We need four more to go all the way up to Simone's.
Near Mint Condition I got the 3 by Chuck Dixon but they need to go up to the Gail Simone run which I would like to read maybe one day it'll release those I loved Gail run on Batgirl that she did for the new 52
Her Birds of Prey is up there for me with her run on Secret Six. It is truly amazing. She made me the Oracle fan I am today.
Do you know where I can find the black and white TMNT hardcover books??
The original? It's the Ultimate editions. Make sure you get the HCs and not the softcover books:
www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-Collection/dp/1613770073/?tag=nearmintcon-20
dude your house looks like book store!
kurumais you aren’t the first person to mention this. I just shot my updated tour today and it should come out this Thursday.
So wait, you can custom-bind trade paperbacks? I thought you could only custom-bind single issues.
Hi what fantastic four series was that and where can u recommend buying them
And would u recommend ultimate fantastic four

Question: how do you store your omnibuses?
Doesn't the heavier ones have problems with the spine??
Thanks!
Orteth,
Thank you for watching.
Is graphic novel all u read
I read digital comics and then if I really like something I will buy the collected edition. I buy just a couple of floppies a month if it's a main event I really can't wait to read. I also read manga and European comics. And sometimes when I have time, I read a book :)
do u have marvel essential books and could u do a video
I sold all my Essentials years ago.
I have a beautiful Starman original art page ;)
Oh, from which issue. Starman is one of my favorite comics, ever.
you missed the sixth gun :p
It's there. Well, the first three volumes at the :36 mark. What I am missing is the Scalped HCs. :)
what kind of shelves are those
These are just the Ikea Billys with the additional shelf. I have tried many others and these work the best for me.
Any recommendations in the genre of Horror?
I always strongly recommend the EC books. They are now being published by Dark Horce as the EC collection. Such as Tales From the Crypt, Haunt of Fear and Vault of Horror. Anything by Junji Ito always manages to creep me out like his Museum of Terror, Uzumaki, Gyo or Tomie. I really have enjoyed the Creepy and Eerie collections. I hope that helps.
Appreciate it, brother.
Great collection but I can't seem to see why he dislikes bendis so much? He's had many good series
Thank you and to each their own, my dood. I liked his DD and Powers and I think his Miles Morales is the best thing he wrote, but I just can't dig his other works. It's not for lack of trying either.
Muy buena colección..
Salidos desde Perú
Muchas gracias, hermano. Peruano aqui tambien!
600th like oh yeah! man i can't stand people who say first! and don't comment lol anyways great video Omar, i think we need a update :)
I think an update will be coming in October.
Can you do another video on your marvel Hard covers but pull some of them out for us to see??????????????/
Thank you Craig, I think I will start doing a segment doing exactly this.
Near Mint Condition Your welcome mate! Awesome thanks. I’m trying to find any Epic Collection!
Can you do a thor comic collection video?
I sure can. Thank you for watching.
What are the names of the shelfs
They are the Ikea Billy with the extra shelf extension.
Cool.
Thank you for watching.
How much did all of that cost? Cuz damn.
So many years of collecting and selling my comics, my brother.
hi where did you get the bookcase and what make is it @
Most of these are the Billy from IKEA.
@@NearMintCondition thanks for reply I will look into getting those after a little saving or a lot lol
How can you afford all these!!
Selling blood and plasma brother. Honestly, I've been collecting collected editions for over a decade. Sold most of my comic single issues, because I'd rather have them on a shelf.
Hi just would like to know hiw we can get omnibus cheap
cheapgraphicnovels tell them NMC sent you their way.
Near Mint Condition thank u very much what is NMC SENT their way by the way i ma in india n will the ship to india
where can I find that book shelf?
Thank you for watching. The shelf is the IKEA Billy. Which you can just get online or go to an IKEA store. My Billys do have the shelf extensions, though.
thanks a lot for replying dude! epic collection btw
Thank you so much for the kind words.
why is it the n52 have white or blue numbers?
I think that was the original idea and then they changed their mind and went with whatever.
But fractions Hawkeye?
It's there. At the 30:53 mark. :)
What percentage of this have you read? My collection is growing faster than I can read them.
I would say about 75% of my collection I have read. I have a hard time catching up with monthly releases that I still buy. I thought about waiting and playing catch up.
In case no one's mentioned it yet, it's pronounced 'Brew-Baker'
I didn't grow up with Calvin and Hobbs.
Time to change that! :)
Omar Valdivieso A book's at school. I could grab it sometime :)
They are really worth a look.
Omar Valdivieso The one's at school are too long for me :P
cool
very!
Seriously... What happens if u have a fire @ ur house or something? That'd be the the tragedy @ the library of Alexandria
I'll be honest. I have thought about this for years. If something were to happen like that. I Couldn't start over. I would stick to digital and call it a day. :)
Amazing collection but Trades till I die lol. Hard Covers just are too cumbersome to read.
You should put that on a shirt. :)
Echo de menos comic europeo. Has leido algo de europeo?
Algunos libros como Incal, Metabarons, Bouncer. Pero quiero leer Blueberry.
Lots of DC and Marvel I see, but no 2000ad? You're missing out dude, just sayin'...
Teach me the ways, homie. I need to know. Because that's a side of books I want to get into.
Dood thank you so much. I have saved your comment as a word document. Next time I go to cons I will be looking for these books.
@@NearMintCondition Glad I could help
EC Comics are the greatest of all time.
Completely agree 100%
@@NearMintCondition the 1990s Russ Cochran/Gemstone reprints were the first comics I collected. I was a kid then. And I had the original black and white hardcover EC Library. Awesome stuff. My favorite title was Crime SuspenStories.
I'm hoping to one day collect all the EC books, now that Dark Horse is publishing them.
El video que humillo a Caba..!
Jajajaja. Esto es sierto!
