- Amanda and I took a whole day to hit up five different Ollie's in Kentucky. Our goal: Find cheap Graphic Novels, trade paperbacks and Hardcovers. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! Come take a trip with us as we check out several locations and see what we find during our haul portion! Several Marvel and DC books were found and even an omnibus!

@@vedshukla2286 back in early 2000s the most expensive comic you could buy was the 'giant issues' which was priced at Rs90 and had a free pull out poster inside. Now a comic costs atleast Rs800 in India. Wish I could go back to the 2000s

I used to work at one of these stores, the book sections were always a mess.
If there was space to do anything u might see people try fix area, or just move what can around to get what they want. guess they try jam out too much and so space gets coverd and no one wanna fix it cause just get mess up again lol. i have not bought a comic so long and know i need read tehm a lot idk if i even wanna snag any unless liked the art work a lot any.
Agreed! No OCD here either, but there is something vaguely depressing about seeing sooooo much hard work by artists just tossed around like so much...product. Of course that's all it is to these stores (and to the publishers), but its still a bummer.

About every 4 months my local Ollie’s gets some fantastic stuff in their comic book section! Freaking love ollies

These just popped up here in the last few years.
When an Ollie's opened up in my city, I went on day one, and it was MADNESS! But, I managed to get Superman For All Seasons: The Deluxe Edition HC, Suicide Squad: The Silver Age Omnibus HC, two New 52 Robin HCs, and JLA: Year One The Deluxe Edition HC. Those books would normally have been about $190 total. I got them at Ollie's for $40!! And they were all plastic wrapped, and either new or like new condition! But.........that's pretty much the only books they had that I was interested in. I need to go back and see if they got anything new.

Great video guys, looks like a lot of fun was had. Looks like Ollie's has a lot of new 52 stuff I need so I really wish Ollie's had a location in New Brunswick. Oz is a great book and buying the Omni at that price should be considered theft. Way to go Omar and Amanda.

Great haul! I got OZ also at my local Ollie's new sealed and yes it costs $5.99!! They had many copies. Never read it but I'm a huge Scottie Young fan so I cannot go wrong. Cannot wait to head there again. I have 3 Ollie's in my area here in Florida. Loved the Bloopers!! LMAO!

Bruh... I just spent almost $600 between 2 Ollie's a week ago on Trades & Hardcovers. I check them out every 2 to 3 months for new stock. And that Omnibus you found for the price is CRAZY! Nice Find man.

We don't have an Ollie's in California but that is like a graphic novel collectors dream I could spend hours digging through stuff, at those prices they could really give Amazon a run for their money.

I've had an ollie's in my town for years and never thought to go there to look for trades. After I saw this video I went the next day and paid $25 on six trades. I'll have to check every few weeks now. Thanks for this video. Now if you could do a video on how to remove the stickers and residue off the books that would be helpful too.

I work at a nail salon and am always reading trades, I use Alcohol to remove sticker residue. We use it a lot here.

It depends. Was it a Bendis book or a Grimm Fairy Tales?!! By God..get those the hell out of my way.In all seriousness It's a mess to go through, seriously. It's like the employees took a crane and dumped the books in the middle of the table. One of the stores was more organized than the others. But really we didn't man handle them enough to make a dent or harm them any. :)
Near Mint Condition yeah I noticed you just kinda dug around, but I also mean in general the fact that they leave them in mountains on carts haha that’s crazy!

Our Ollie's had the "Just Imagine Stan Lee" Omnibus for $13, which I was pretty excited by. Not his best work, but still a good deal.
Not going to lie, I would have bought it for that low too. We plan on doing another run in other cities sometime in February so we'll see.

Wow. You guys have a lot of Ollie's. I thought I'd hit a lot of Ollie's just hitting the three that were in a couple of hours driving distance from my hometown. A lot of the stuff you guys picked up are things I picked up. Omar, that Twelve hardcover was the main reason I went to Ollie's in Clarksville, TN, the last time I went and I picked that up too. Great series with some beautiful Chris Weston art. I already had the individual issues but it was really nice to pick up the complete collection in hardcover at such a great price. I would've picked up that deluxe HC collection of Camelot 3000 but the Ollie's I went to didn't have it. Also picked up that Original Sin HC collection that Amanda got for 15 dollars which is quite a good price for a 75 dollar hardcover (which was pretty overpriced to begin with which is probably why they had so much backstock). When I went to Ollie's about a year ago they had a lot more DC stuff both HC's and tpb's and I picked up things like Neal Adams HCs of Batman and a big HC collection of Legion of Superheroes the Curse. At that time I also picked up all those JSA's that Amanda picked up so those have been there for over a year, but are a great read. Also as for that thick Hawkeye (and Mockingbird) collection that Amanda got, I saw that at my closest Ollie's as well but I'd already picked it up in the bargain section of Books-a-Million (although it was a couple of dollars more) so if you want that collection, Omar, check out the graphic novel bargain section at your local BAM. I know Ollie's had the omnibus of A vs. X but I didn't see that at the Ollie's I went to but I know people found it for like 14.99. And that was such a great deal of Amanda getting that Skottie Young Oz Omnibus for 5.99. It was probably supposed to be 14.99 as that seems to be their omnibus price point. Great haul, Omar and Amanda.
Thank you for watching, brother. It was a ton of fun and driving around, but making the day of it and getting some good books made it worth it. I went last January and found one DC trade a Batman book and then a bunch of DC books. It seems like around December they ended up with a bunch of Marvel books.
@@NearMintCondition Yeah, Omar, they just got a huge shipment of Marvel overstock around a month or two back. I think it was maybe last November or December they had all the DC stuff, but I noticed on my last trip to Ollie's to check out the Marvel stuff they still had a lot of the DC stuff but most of the really good hardcovers were gone. I got two of the Starman hardcover omnibuses, vol 4 and 6, and two of the softcover omnibuses, vol 1 and 2, on my first trip to Ollie's. I ended up buying vol 5 in HC pretty cheaply but the prices for vol 3 are crazy expensive and I ended up having to buy the original OOP tpbs to get that part of the story. Sadly, they cancelled the softcover tpb Starman omnibuses after the second one for some reason. That was one of the better runs of comics during the 90's.
I own the HC Starman six volume set and the fact that it's not more available for everyone. Its in my top 10 favorite comics of all time.
We need Ollie's in the UK.

@@NearMintCondition Agreed i live in New Jersey and the Ollies we have is great and always loaded with graphic novels and it's always stocked and they change thier stock of comic's constantly and really the graphic novel's you can find are some real gems!

Sorry, I'm late in getting to watch this video. Of course, it's another great NMC video with the new Dynamic Duo of Omar & Amanda. Omar, if you weren't my boy before I watched this you would be now with you proclaiming your love for Brian Bolland and Camelot 3000. Bolland's stuff just blows me away and I've read Camelot 3000 at least 5 times. It's just great stuff. I do have an Ollie's near me and I have bought some great stuff there dirt cheap. For me, my favorite thing I got there was TPB's of Denny O'Neil's Question run from the '80s. I was shocked to find them there. Once again, Omar is making me pry open my wallet because now I need to go back to Ollie's and take a look for myself. I should just have my paycheck deposited into Omar's checking account and have him buy me my Omni's, hardcovers and TPB's. I love the channel and always enjoy the vids with Omar and Amanda. #OmarRules #AmazingAmanda
I will take that deposit! LOL this was lots of fun to put together. I was honestly looking for The Question as those are some of my most wanted trades. I really hope DC gets their stuff together and releases those books in a proper HC format. Thank you for all the comments and compliments, believe me we are still humbled by them. I used to have the JLA:Year One trade too. That hardcover looks awesome. Barry Kitson was the artist though, Augustyn is the co-writer. Waid and Kitson make a great team; they did quite a few L.E.G.I.O.N. stories together as well as Empire.

I grabbed the OZ omnibus for 35 bucks at a convention and thought I got a deal... that's awesome you got it for that price.
I preordered mine from DCBS at $50 bucks and thought it was a steal.... :/ Amanda got the cheapest omnibus I've ever seen.
That queen & country is a good read it was a mix of the movie shooter & bourne identity. I love does types of story's in movies & i liked this as a comic but i think i would love this as a movie or tv series kus music helps build the tension & bring out the feel of certain situations

I thought I was the only person who shopped Ollie’s for omnis & TPBs I’ve found some good stuff there like Hawkeye Avenging Angel and Realm of Kings. Looks like you found some better selections than I’ve found.

I saw another video a few months ago at an Ollie's bargain hunting and it amazes me that booksellers or distributors liquidate so much of this inventory. It's great for people looking for good bargains, but across all 5 of those Ollie's I bet there was product that was common among all 5 locations like maybe those Hawkeye trades. I bet there must have been hundreds of those types of books. I like all those gems you found like the Queen & Country collections(fyi. Volume 4 concentrates on secondary characters from their Declassified series you only need volume 2 if you want to just enjoy the stories from the primary character unless you can find 2 and 4 for cheap). I am completely surprised you found an omni at one of the Ollie's. I still want to read Original Sin but not for retail. For 15 bucks it would be fine to take a chance on it. I can only assume these books come from booksellers trying to recoup money for the poor ordering choices of their buyers. I wish they had more places like this in Canada. Great hauls for a 1 day trip.
Lloyd Wong you’re right across all the ones we went to there were many similarities like that Hawkeye Vol. 2 or Original Sin (or the Grimm Fairy Tales series, they just had a TON of those 😬). I wondered if we had really road tripped it to another state or not if that would make a change on the inventory at all.
@@amazingamandareelztalk I rewatched the video and noticed at location 4 they had the Hawkeye collection Omar was wanting clearly at 10:33 of the video and then shortly after he mentioned volume 3 of Queen and Country so you would have all 3 volumes if you wanted. I'd be so OCD that if I picked up stuff at the last location and knew I could complete or find stuff I missed I'd drive all the way back to get the stuff I missed. I know I have too much time on my hands..lol

Bought the Suicide Squad Silver age omnibus v.1 at an Ollies here in Buffalo a few weeks back. Not sure what I paid for it, but I believe it was under $10! Also nabbed that original sin Hardcover, and the Hickman Secret Wars OSH over the summer as well!
Missed out on the Secret Wars Hardcover, but our goal was to look for Crisis on Infinite Earths. We went a little crazy when we saw the other books.
Tyler Flynt, I also was able to get that Suicide Squad Silver Age Omni for about $10, considering I think it's a $50 book at minimum.

There are a lot of nice books at Ollie’s. When my wife drags me there for the boring stuff, I always drift to the book section. Great deals if you are looking for reading copies. Occasionally I get sad when I find something for $5 that I already paid full price for though!

Believe me I got sad. All those hardcovers and trades I paid three to four times as much money for. But it's nice that there is an option for people that want to give books to others or just looking for a book they missed.

The Oz Omnibus price is crazy. I've never seen anyone actually review it but absolutely love it. Good stuff.
It is a great book with phenomenal art by Skottie Young.
Jesus, lots of copies of original sin in those shops, i thought it was quite a good crossover, tempted to pick up the hardcover, but the panini paperback I have probably has thicker pages, also annihilation got released in 2 complete collections. I’m excited for the disassembled new reader, since I read it recently.

Dear god you are lucky with that omni Omar! Jealous as hell, here in Sweden we have zero stores like this we got only 5 comic stores in the capital very rarley do they have any sales. Would love to do some hunting like this but the pawn stores I go to never get any HC/omnis/absolute. Great video Amanda and Omar! Always love the content!

Still have yet to go to this place although there is one about 30 minutes away. I am guessing that the overstock of GN's in the post-(or current rather)-Covid world will be through the roof now. So if they ever reopen it should be a great time to buy your weight in GN's

I work at the Ollies Bargain Outlet in the Fort Worth area and there’s some good comic books in stock like Age Of Ultron, Marvel Zombies, Spider-Verse, Star Wars, and Batman Endgame💯
Edit: there’s also the walking dead, Avengers, Spider-Man American Son, Venomverse, Age of Apocalypse, Back in Black, and a ton of other good stories

Man. My nnearest Ollie's is in Nacogdoches TX about 200 plus miles away. So every time I go I buy tons of stuff. So much savings
Course not all of it are great books. Hawkeye. Can't seem to get into. Deathlock from 1982 or 83 is dated. Some other ones I have finished tho. 6.99 and 7.99 for most.

It's a place called Ollie's. We just happen to have some around us in Kentucky and Tennessee. Bargain outlet. Most of the time just junk or furniture really, but last year they started getting some DC comics and now they are blowing up with all kinds of trades.
are trades not cool? if something gets an oversized hardcover means it must be good? im a trade type of guy ultimate,new 52,marvel knights stuff, i think some omnibuses have a lot of trash in them, why just not get only the good part?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! have you ever been to an Ollie's, brother you think the employees follow that advice. It's like they took a giant metal crane and dumped everything on a small tiny table. In all seriousness we did nothing to harm the condition of any book that wasn't already manhandled by 20 other greasy grubby fingers. I can guarantee: No books were harmed in the making of this video.

I’ve just finished Oz omnibus and it’s an amazing book. But I paid for it way more, than 6 of 7 bucks, about 70 cad. That’s still a good deal.

I was looking for Ollie's graphic novel hauls, found your channel and subbed. I only have one near me and am totally jealous. The first store you went to had some books I would like to buy. I heard you say Kentucky which is where I live (eastern ky) and was curious where that store was located. 👍
We went to lexington, Richmond, Winchester and Mt. Sterling. Had no idea there were so many around us. Thank you for the sub!

Seen videos of the place having comic trades and all. the only place compared to it around me is biglots. hope they open one here soon close by reading or hearing they try expand out more. just gotta wait and see.
It honestly reminds me of a Big Lots. The way things are scattered about.
@@NearMintCondition Seeing how u went to so many stores but certain ones was more like organized and sorted and rest was just all over the place lol. they want sales, but not many will actually try sift or fix it before they find what they really want. so i just gotta wait untill any show up around here. biglots close by did a recent redo of the place so it not so crazy in ways. only went in once since the changes but may go again later.
