- Amanda and I took a whole day to hit up seven different locations in Louisville, Kentucky. Our goal: Find cheap Graphic Novels, trade paperbacks and Hardcovers. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! Come take a trip with us as we check out several locations and see what we find during our haul portion! We stop at locations like The Zone, The Great Escape and The Dimension...and even sneak a couple of Ollie's in there.

Another episode of Omar and Amanda Big Adventure of comic book hunting. I'm loving the comic book hunting videos with you two. Omar make sure that you have patience when Amanda has to use the rest room. If you do not have patience then you will slowly turn to the dark side of the force. Seriously great video you two. Really great video even if Omar's camera work gave me vertigo at times. LOL. I don't know how Omar can really search (especially at Ollie's) while holding a camera in one hand. I need to dive in with both hands to really feel like I'm not missing anything. As always, it's the personalities of Omar and Amanda that really make these videos special. These are two people I would like to hang around with and talk about comics, movies and pop culture in general. Awesome! I love these kinds of videos. Can't wait to see what you two find, Omar and Amanda. I've been to some of the comic shops in Louisville. Think the one I went to several years back was the Great Escape on Bardstown. I bought that Miracleman Olympus hardcover at the Ollies I went to. And cool, you guys are now at the Great Escape. Love that shop. Amanda, hope you like Lazarus. I love it. It's my favorite Greg Rucka book and he mentions my hometown of Paducah in it and he and I shared a Twitter exchange over that. Lazarus is actually getting ready to start back up again after a hiatus. LOL@ "We're going to eat or I'm going to die." Superior Foes of Spider-Man was fantastic. I got the complete hardcover collection. I hope you're reading The Fix, Omar. I think those two books are two of Nick Spencer's best and both drawn by Steve Lieber. Also glad Omar suggested Joe the Barbarian for you, Amanda. It's freaking great and one of the easier Grant Morrison reads (though I'm a big fan of all his work). The art by Sean Gordon Murphy is gorgeous. The blooper reels at the end of these are hilarious. Great haul!
Thank you for watching and commenting, brother. I haven't read The Fix yet. I'm really enjoyed Superior Foes and like you, have the omnibus. Yeah, Joe the Barbarian is one of my favorite Morrison books and it's got that beautiful Murphy artwork. I think Amanda will end up liking Lazarus, just knowing her taste in great stories.

Omar, you have to read the Fix. It is so freaking funny, man. If you loved Superior Foes of Spider-Man, you will love The Fix, even though they ate different genres, they are very similar from a comedic standpoint. The Fix and Maestros were probably my two favorite Image titles since Saga and Lazarus. I don't know if the Fix will ever get a hardcover collection but I hope it does. I have just been getting the tpbs. Amanda, I think Lazarus would be perfect for Old Reader, New Readers. It is one of the books I usually buy for girls I'm dating who have never read comics along with Saga and they usually love both. They are really great titles for new readers because they require zero other comics reading or even viewed superhero films to get into. I know neither of those titles are finished but with both you could do the first major story arcs. I still think you guys should do Alpha Flight, the John Byrne run. I just got the omnibus of that in the mail today. Also Alan Moore's Swamp Thing would be great for ORNR. And as for The Great Escape, I have a Timothy Bradstreet poster I got from the Great Escape back in 2001 hanging up in my comic room.
Love the channel guys! Just went to all the Ollie’s around me in the last week graphic novel hunting! Found some pretty good ones best one I found was “Marvel masterworks Incredible Hulk volume 1”
Now that is an amazing find!! Ive only seen a couple of Masterworks from time to time. We are hoping to do another hunt and haul at the beginning of June.
I love when you do these "chase and haul" videos. You let go so many things I would pick if I where there! The funny thing is that I don´t even have a comic book store near me. I live in Carmelo, Uruguay, so hello from down here!
Originally from Peru, here, hermano! I'm sorry you don't have a comic store around you. I guess in a way we are blessed that we do, even if we have to drive around some to get to our destinations.

There is nothing better than skimming a box of single issues.. it doesn't happen enough these days anymore.
Everytime i'm doing a convention, before it opens, i go across stands and when there are venders with long / short boxes, i'm go through them just to smell all that comic goodness.
Glad you eventually found that Supergirl trade after missing it at 6:38 right in front of the Silver Age Supergirl books lol.

i'm noticing some similarities between what you guys have at that ollie's and the one i have hit up in florida. i still have another one that i need to scope out and see if there's any difference in what they have. i have since turned a friend back in indiana onto ollie's. thank you for spreading the gospel of that of ollie's.
Some varied from the ones we hit up in Eastern Ky. One day, we need to make it to Florida. :) Graphic Novel hunting!

Ah, the only time I went to Kentucky was when I had to go to the CVG airport back when I lived in Ohio. Looks like you guys got goodies there too!
I'm a big fan of Louisville. Lots of memories of hanging there during my college years too. What part of Ohio as we plan on going there in the future too for these Graphic Novel hunts.

At 27:00 when you said you were doing a new reader/old reader of Rucka's Wonder Woman I got excited that you were doing a special episode then I realized something was amiss because this is the last week of February so I checked the calendar and sure enough the 1st of March is on Friday. The first Tuesday of March is the 5th. But secretly I'm hoping it's a special episode on Friday because then I can catch it ;) The first volume of Lazarus is a really good primer for deciding if you want to get the 2 hardcover collections. Those collections have so much extra material. There is also a World of Lazarus campaign setting for the Modern Age RPG so I'm curious about checking that out to see if the material might make it worth getting at some point.
Lloyd, you would be right, my brother. The Old Reader, New Reader's Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka will air on Tuesday March 5th. Sorry to mess up that date. I can't wait to see what Amanda thinks of Lazarus.

How do they managed to get bulk loads of these books and sell them so cheaply at Ollies. Do they hire a ex army back ops squad to raid some warehouses or something??
I think it's the leftover books after the companies have their big liquidation sales. So honestly, I'm not really sure how they get books like this on the cheap side.
It kinda like how i guess places around me get some good stuff but not always sure what besides same stuff as reg sells. i only hear or read about the good stuff being sold by post in forums or youtube videos by chance. just wish ollies was close by here cause places i see are the same kinda place dont get the same stuff that i know of here. but do get other stuff but gotta check due to changes of what they sell now.

How does one search for a particular title in these shops?
Are they kept in some order?
It would take me ages to even finish a single shop if i have to go through each item.
niknsync well some of the shops it’s alphabetical by title, but like half-priced books did it by publisher and the order.... well, you can tell it’s not cleaned up a ton and organized. There is absolutely no order at an Ollie’s LOL and the only saving grace is that they tend to have similar titles at each one.

@@tauhid610 dude, I've been touring all the LCS in the UK for the last 12 months. The London FP megastore is okayish, but you should also check out Orbital comics near Leicester Square (London) too. The other London LCS are weak though. Let me know where you're at, I might be able to offer you some recommendations!
@@tauhid610 good stuff. Orbital has a decent pre-owned section and a big back-catalogue of floppies. Virtually no Omnis though. FP has more Omnis and trades but virtually no floppies other than current releases. :) Enjoy dude!

I think lots of my collections have taken a backseat to comics. Even my figures and Transformers...but I still do a game here and there and my cohost Rob and I do our Live video game hauls once a month.
