Love your new format where you flip through the books but not spoil the stories by doing so. Really helps when someone is trying to make a decision on whether or not to buy the books over amazon/online.
If you haven't before....make sure to check out these titles. Omar never fails me when he recommends a book. Some of my favorite books have come from one of these videos
I am interested in buying a couple of these graphic novels to give as Christmas gifts. Thanks Omar!!! Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! I love watching your videos!!
I love your way to talk abot comics, and the fact Im always discovering new things in your videos. Looking forward to your european graphic novels list!
I had forgotten about Skyward. I read the first half of the story in singles as I was more interested in the science of what happened and how the world would adapt. I never finished it so I'll have to revisit this series and finish it. And Omar, I think we all know why you never included Long Halloween previously. Subconsciously, you were upset as this was intended to retcon Year Two. It's ok, we understand!
Just a general comment to say, I love the positivity of this channel. Always honest, but always makes me want to read comics rather than get p*%sed off at them like some other channels.
Most wanted deluxe edition manga series would be a dope video. Any other cool series like that infinite kungfu? Sounds like a cross between blade of the immortal and big trouble in little China which sounds utterly awesome
_Monsters_ is a damn monument in comics, truly a one of a kind experience I read it right around the time it dropped, and I think enough time has passed that next Halloween season I can revisit it
I love Brubaker and Philips and really enjoyed The Fade Out, but my vote would go to Reckless (which is not a standalone, yet, but I suspect we'll see an Omnibus at some point).
Watching now and some good choices already. I have heard nothing but good things about Monsters, the art looks incredible. I keep meaning to pick this beauty up. Long Halloween is definitely a solid story, personally I enjoyed Dark Victory even more. 👍
The whole run of Ghost Rider 2099 just came out in graphic novel. I have them all in individual from when they were putting them out and the art by Chris Bachallo I remember to be amazing. I don’t think I read every one of them, I don’t remember but I’d sure like to see you review it and hear your opinion. Great video, I just bought Monsters on Amazon. I never heard of it but have loved Barry Windsor-Smith for decades, from back in his Conan days. Thanks
a lot of value in these lists for someone who is just starting to read graphic novels. do you have a video about european publishers belfranco in particular
The Autumnal and I Walk With Monsters have both been underrated gems as far as what I’ve read recently. I’ve read a LOT recently, but both are comics I’ll be re-reading frequently. The Autumnal is not only a fantastic read for the spooky month (yeah I know I’m a month late), but also a fantastic read for the fall season as a WHOLE. The atmosphere alone should have earned The Autumnal AT LEAST an Eisner nomination. One of the most unique comics I’ve read in a LONG TIME. I Walk With Monsters is also just a fun read too that I never lost my interest in for even a SECOND. And of COURSE Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees, and I’ll just leave it at that as everyone must go in blind for BTTWNS
FRONTIER by Guillarme Singelin. BANGER of a magnetic press book. A not so distant future sci fi book with an undercurrent of wholesomeness. Maybe my favorite read of the year
Your advice please, of all graphic novels, which one would be best to read with beginner English speakers? The pictures give context which is key, the subject should be fairly non violent and safe for school. I welcome your direction. I am new to the genre.
Received a factory defective omnibus from a pre-order, max is refusing to let me exchange it... stay AWAY from CGN. I was a loyal customer and I've bought more than 50 omnis from them just in the past 3 months and never complained once, even on items damaged during shipping and this is how they treat their customers
Easier way to avoid the "actually" people is to not use the term graphic novel for this. You can just say ""collected edition" instead. This is "the house of collected editions", isn't it? 😉.
agree with most things on this list but Monsters was absolute garbage - the art was great but his writing was truly terrible - i actually threw it out cause the writing was so juvenile. He doesn't understand pace! was such a stupid story too! Everything else here if fire though! great list otherwise! Ghost World is one of the greatest!
Just want to mention i really appreciate that you are back Omar! ❤ thanks for all the great recommendations
Hope you're doing okay. I know times are tough around the holidays. ❤ Love your content man
I like comic
Very true
I like near mint condition
lepiej bym tego nie podsumował 👊
I like chair.
I love lamp.
Love your new format where you flip through the books but not spoil the stories by doing so. Really helps when someone is trying to make a decision on whether or not to buy the books over amazon/online.
I have sent this out to my friends and family with the message “this is my Christmas list”
Amazing video, Omar!
Thank you Omar, you always show things which are later a must read for me! 💛
I was literally just wondering when this update would come out. Thank you brother - hope you and the family are keeping well.
Best standalone jumper of the year Omar!
I love these videos every year.
Another great list, Omar. This is why: Near Mint Condition.
The man with the list is back! Thank you for what you bring us, Omar!
I always find something new to read after your Hidden Gems video and this video. Thank you Omar!
I love these episodes . I get introduced to a lot of great new comics this way. Thank you Omar
These are all bangers! I read most of them already, but I wrote down Skyward, hadn't heard about it. Looking foorward to your standalone manga top
If you haven't before....make sure to check out these titles. Omar never fails me when he recommends a book. Some of my favorite books have come from one of these videos
Never heard of Trillium, might need to get it. Love these list as always, brother
The Incal is one of my favorite books. Please make a european top 10 list.
love the flip through the pages preview! It helps a lot when deciding what to read
Standalone Manga Top 10? Yes please
These are my favorite kinds of videos from this channel! Great recommendations as always ! Thank you ! Now I have some books I need to go buy! 😁
Another great list of books! I’ll have to search some them out and give the ones I don’t already own a read. 💙👍🏼💙
Me checking in every year for the past 3 years knew you would come through :)
Cool threads Omar!!
I've been meaning to read skyward for ages. Definitely gonna move it up the list for the hardcover.
I am interested in buying a couple of these graphic novels to give as Christmas gifts. Thanks Omar!!! Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! I love watching your videos!!
Monsters looks right up my ally. Thanks Omar!
I love your way to talk abot comics, and the fact Im always discovering new things in your videos. Looking forward to your european graphic novels list!
Awesome picks, thank you!
Thanks man, so many classics. Best thing in the vid your sweater !!!!! Abrazo desde Chile 💪🏼
You made me appreciate Graphic novels in the age of 46!!
Tranks a lot!
Are there any Graphic Novels regarding Aliens and UFOs?
2:19 yes please, would love to see some more manga content, especially a collection tour
Great recommendations! I just hoped you focused on 2024 releases.
love your channel, always get great recommendation from yah, thanks a-million
Darn ... just ordered INCAL ... you got me again....
Thanks for your great work! Lots of Love
The stand alone lists are really helpful 🎉 I splurge on a 'black mirror' or 'the hood' every 6months
Hi Omar, great video as always (and nice sweater). I was wondering how much you read on an average day, thanks
Great selection. Of course we need a TOP 10 manga as well :)
yes please do the Manga list!
Great video as always Omar!
I really liked Skyward, always curious about Trillium 🤔
A few here I’d never heard of this!
Just a general comment to say, I love the positivity of this channel. Always honest, but always makes me want to read comics rather than get p*%sed off at them like some other channels.
Thank you for the kind words. It’s so easy to be negative. It takes no effort 😊
Good list. I'd like to see an overview of the new artists edition of DC War just to mix it up.👍
Tingletown is how you search Diddy's address on Google Maps
Skyward is a standout for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Trillium is kind of a sleeper. I love it but even I forget about when thinking about my favorite books. Or even greatest Lemire books for that matter.
Ed Brubaker and the 1940's go together like PB&J.... very noir, very good.
Do a stand alone manga video... And try to include the lesser known ones.. Love your vids btw
Most wanted deluxe edition manga series would be a dope video. Any other cool series like that infinite kungfu? Sounds like a cross between blade of the immortal and big trouble in little China which sounds utterly awesome
_Monsters_ is a damn monument in comics, truly a one of a kind experience
I read it right around the time it dropped, and I think enough time has passed that next Halloween season I can revisit it
"tingle town" 🤣🤣
I loved asterios polyp, also for image, 8 billion genies and I read decorum recently, that was pretty good 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just backordered From Hell and Monsters (same editions as futured here) as Christmas gifts for myself thank you Santa
You had me at Kung Fu and zombies!
I'm only missing 4 of those in my collection. The other 6 are great so that's all the confirmation I needed to hunt down the other 4.
You give me so many great recommendations :D
See you tomorrow Omar, I'm finally gonna be able to join a live stream!!
I love Brubaker and Philips and really enjoyed The Fade Out, but my vote would go to Reckless (which is not a standalone, yet, but I suspect we'll see an Omnibus at some point).
Jeff lemires art is so unique and pretty to me
OMG! Infinite Kung Fu! It is such an underrated gem. This is the first time I am hearing anyone reviewing and recommending this gem.
Watching now and some good choices already. I have heard nothing but good things about Monsters, the art looks incredible. I keep meaning to pick this beauty up. Long Halloween is definitely a solid story, personally I enjoyed Dark Victory even more. 👍
Great list man!! I need to read that how to make a comic book.
You look so good in that sweater, like a freakin water bender
Link to the sweater?
Dead Romans and The Last Mermaid were pretty cool as well.
Yeah The Last Mermaid is one of my favourite series of the year.
Thanks
Yo bro I LOVE COMICS!!!
I’ve been waiting for a reprint of the fade out deluxe edition for what feels like an eternity: (
a lot of value in these lists for someone who is just starting to read graphic novels.
do you have a video about european publishers belfranco in particular
Not yet.
Long Halloween is great. Love Two-Face.
I enjoyed reading The Fade Out, From Hell and the Batman one.
The Long Halloween is the Best Batman comic. The story, the art, entire package.
And of COURSE Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees, and I’ll just leave it at that as everyone must go in blind for BTTWNS
I hope the reprint The Fade Out deluxe edition.
With a better binding...
FRONTIER by Guillarme Singelin. BANGER of a magnetic press book. A not so distant future sci fi book with an undercurrent of wholesomeness. Maybe my favorite read of the year
got a new superman blue sweater?!
Watching you is so bad for my wallet lol. Thanks so much for the videos and recs!
You are welcome!
I would love a best stand-alone manga list!
Every time I see the fade out deluxe edition I.m so sad I can't find it 😭
If I could only have one graphic novel to keep and read, it would be The Long Halloween. Best I've read.
‘A History of Violence’ by John Wagner. I read that in one sitting.
Your advice please, of all graphic novels, which one would be best to read with beginner English speakers? The pictures give context which is key, the subject should be fairly non violent and safe for school. I welcome your direction. I am new to the genre.
Usagi Yojimbo
Tinkletown :)
Cool list. Miss the Black Hole by C.Burns, My Friend Dahmer and Pride of Baghdad.
Have you read 8 billion genies? One of my fav reads in 2024
I just bought The Road...that is a graphic novel that is worth buying.
Side Effects by Ted Anderson & Tara O'Conner I think is a great graphic novel.
Received a factory defective omnibus from a pre-order, max is refusing to let me exchange it... stay AWAY from CGN. I was a loyal customer and I've bought more than 50 omnis from them just in the past 3 months and never complained once, even on items damaged during shipping and this is how they treat their customers
I think you are on the wrong type of video.
No mention of The Road?
3 I don't own, 2 I'll have to check out, (big questions and infinite kung fu). Could not get into trillium Lemires always hit and miss for me.
I've been wanting to read The Incal, but I thought it was not at all stand-alone?
I like comic.
Do standalone manga also
Trillium 😁
No new announcements? Sad(
These are great, no need to put manga on these list
Easier way to avoid the "actually" people is to not use the term graphic novel for this. You can just say ""collected edition" instead. This is "the house of collected editions", isn't it? 😉.

Everything else here if fire though! great list otherwise! Ghost World is one of the greatest!
The incal is so boring though. It's just carried by the art
10:48 SPOILER!
Monsters was terrible.
I think you are in the minority and that's okay.
Man, the incal is kind of unreadable 🤷🏻♂️
well many people must've read it, seeing how it has influenced all scifi movies/books/comics that came after it!
I think you have a very unpopular opinion. All good though.
