- AlphaOmegaSin reacts to a 17 Year old swatter getting caught. Swatting has gotten pretty out of control but this 17 year old from Canada has admitted to 23 cases of this kinda shit. From obtaining and releasing personal info of people, swatting, harassment, stalking, extortion, etc. The list goes on and all of it was mainly due in part to chicks rejecting him on League of Legends. Literally ruining peoples lives over something so petty. Seriously read and share all this stuff so others can know about it.

I sure as hell am not defending him. Hes as much at wrong as others. He should be punished for what he did, but we have laws and a justice system for a reason. If we listened to every half brained idea of how someone should be punished or how the law should work, wed be a police state the next day.
The Swatters who get their jollies off doing this shit don't realize the damage they are inadvertently causing, not just to the psychological damage, but the societal one too. They are bringing the police state home more and more with this crap, and trust me the people LOSE in the end when we let a police state happen.

I remember when I was 17 and really liked this girl on Myspace (yeah when that was a thing) I eventually got the courage to message her and she rejected me. The worst I did was instantly block her out of embarrassment, then it turned out a girl who I knew was in the same situation and got the courage to message me and we were together for two years.
But the idea that someone didn't find me attractive, and I'd go out of my way to hurt that person? It's insane that I'd do that to someone I liked. He didn't find those girls attractive he wanted control, and when he couldn't have that control he wanted to control their life through other ways. He wanted to become the most important person in their life, even if that meant by destroying them. Well good for him, he'll soon be very important in his cell mate's life, as a human fleshlight.

I'm from Canada. The Young Offenders Act is what protects his name, and depending on his sentence, he may be out at 21 with his record sealed. The judge would need to allow him to be charged as an adult. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe that's how this will go down.

I live in Kansas. 2 days ago a man who doesn't even play video games was swatted and shot down in his home. He had no guns and posed no threat. 2 players playing COD got into an argument and a fake address was given. Infamy Runs swatted said fake address and this innocent man was killed. He was a father to 2 kids. A 3 year old and 7 year old. Infamy Runs claims he isn't responsible because he didn't pull the trigger. He is responsible in my opinion and swatters are the most lowly of all gamer scum on the earth. Being a avid gamer myself this hurts.

I hate to be a "Negative Nancy" but there is no way his punishment will fit the crime. Canada will NOT extradite on capitol offenses such as terrorism unless you waive the death penalty. Seeing as no US prosecutor would take the case unless they could make an example of him with an execution, he's gonna get off with a slap on the wrist.

To everyone whom is interested, and even AlphaOmegaSin, I decided to look up information on the case, and found an article stating he'll be given 16 months punishment. 261 days in prison, and then 8 months under supervision in the community.
You heard that right. 23 cases of ruining his victims' lives, and he gets less than a year in jail and little more than half being publicly supervised, under the pretense that he should "reengage with the real world and grow up all over again", and that he would somehow get better following education, therapy, and learning social skills.
This comment is so important for people in this topic.... - imo - that you should copy paste it under your same account - obviously -, so it would make it to the top of comment section under the video, so it could have more likes, also delete this one. Just rewrite it in a way that it's obvious you found about this 5 years ago. In cases like this people should know what's what though

I'm actually glad you talk about this stuff because people need to know that this shit DOES happen and I, personally, have been a victim to this type of bull shit. It wasn't to this extreme, but the kid did threaten to SWAT me and even DDOSed me forcing me to get a VPN. And the worst fucking part is NONE of these kids are legitimate hackers/programmers because if you can be any random person and have access to that kind of crap, it becomes scary especially to the victims. It comes down to parents keeping up to speed with Internet access and control. Going into a new generation, as we grow older, we'll have a better understanding of the Internet world than our parents have. Unfortunately I believe it has more to do with kids learning their morals from the internet/online gaming. When I was a kid the internet was barely even a thing and online gaming was non existant, I had to actually interact with other people. These days, you can interact with people from all over the world without leaving your couch, and considering how many messed up people are out there, that's a scary thing.

Coquitlam teen sentenced to 16 months for ‘swatting’ threats. This was what the teen in question got, personally I think this was light to say the least.
When you said you could not imagine how his parents would react when they found out what he had done, I instantly thought of "Catch Me If You Can". The scene where Tom Hanks tells Leo's mom exactly how much money he had stolen.
This is why the world is doomed. There's people like these that, figuratively speaking, stabs the government services, the online community and even people's lives just because they wanted to be loved, and those who rejected him/her should suffer a fate worse than death, by harassing and more. It's a classic example of revenge based on personal reason or to satisfy self-ego.
And yet, there's nothing to stop the damage done.
Clinical psychopathy is an interesting thing. He must have known exactly what he was doing, he didn't care. But that's the thing about psychopathy, he can't care either. There's no cure for psychopathy. It's a shame really. They do terrible things sometimes

For anyone wonderinig what "swatting" means: it's when person A calls the cops on person B, saying that B is dangerous or has guns/bombs/something/is an immediate threat, so that the cops will immediately run to B's house and knock their door down and attack them like they would an active shooter.
What pisses me off about this story is knowing the justice system of Canada, this kid will probably get away with it because he's 17 and once he's 18, toss event will probably be erased from his records.

How can someone work themself into such a rage, that they can be so upset over something that they couldn't care less about, and make a video, speaking about it for 15 minutes?
