I agree as well, but for me, back on Windows 10, I used to use Startisback to position my pinned apps in the center while retaining the system actions (Start, Search, Task View) still on the far left. Honestly, I really liked it since I could still throw my mouse cursor to the bottom left of the screen but also have my pinned apps in the center which added a bit of 'modern' to Windows. I wish Microsoft did it like Startisback or at least gave us the option to keep the system actions (mentioned above) to the far left when enabling the centered taskbar on Window 11. So, since this is not the case, I've decided to keep the icons aligned to the left to sacrifice aesthetics for the sake of throwing my cursor to the bottom left of the screen.

@@narwhal4304 The only Arch distro I have tried is Manjaro and I had a host of issues with it as well but have had many issues with Debian/Ubuntu based distros as well. I had a OS update on Pop OS that removed my internet connection settings, Linux Mint update removed my DE, Ubuntu caused my mouse speed to be unusable with the mouse seep all the way up it took 6 inches of moving the mouse to move it an inch. And those are just a small number of the issues a ran into running Linux for 2 years after which i got tired of and ran back to Windows. Linux has a reputation for being buggy and unstable (which is understandable consider the small size of these teams and the disjointed nature of FOSS) but it is a reputation well deserved.

There's not a single OS in existence where that's possible. With every update, things are changed. Those things could interfere with your custom setup (no matter how small the customization is) and alter behind-the-scenes settings that end up breaking something. That possibility is always there with any update ever, no matter how small the change. It's just unrealistic to expect a software update for any system to affect something and nothing at the same time. Technically impossible.

Before I update to 11 from 10, I had some weird issues going on with 10, like wrong time zone issue that I couldn't solve for the longest time regardless of numerous attempts. After I updated it to 11, that problem was still there and that got me thinking that WIN 11 is just a huge skin update with several OS changes under the hood. I totally believe that at the moment.

I guess it is to make the cursor available near the start menu, other than that I can't think of a reason. And I guess the majority doesn't use shortcuts. I don't think people even know that they can pin apps to taskbar & use shortcut to open those.

You're (we're) not always typing. Sometimes we window hop and use the scroll wheel the scroll through web pages, applications, windows, etc. We have the left/right mouse button to click things open, copy, paste, drag, etc. If I'm not really typing, my hand isn't resting on the keyboard. So am I going to lift my hand and (if you need to look) press the button or do a quick flick? Quick flick. Because even after you open the start menu, you're going to use the mouse and scroll to find an application. Yes, this is where you'll argue that you can type the name instantly. But I personally prefer to just scroll anyways (most of the time. It depends). And sometimes you don't remember the application you want but you know it when you see it. So yes, flick is faster most of the time. Or depending on how you use the os.
