Man I love your videos. I'm an engine builder and I really appreciate you putting these videos out. I've done a few transmissions power glides and th350's but I dont know much about them. I recently have found myself needing to do a couple of 700's and a 4l60 for my own stuff. man you are a life saver! You have the most complete no BS videos on transmissions on RUclips! Thanks Brother! Also...I feel your pain on voice overs lol

this video was just what i needed ...i removed the servo and the band moved into the way of the servo pin so that i cant push the new servo back into the case ....2 things i learned 1 being how the band sits in the case and2 how to be able to get to the band without removing the trans from the car to get this issue sorted out ...great video very good instructions all through it all . thank you for going through it for everyone to understand....see how he explains how the band would move and not allow the servo to go into the case that is exactly what happened to me and this video was a very big help to get my issue sorted out thank you so much

I have over 40 years experience in auto repair and the only things I haven't tackled are rear end rebuilds and automatic transmissions. I have a vehicle with a 700R4 that will soon be needing a rebuild so I thought this might be a good thing to watch and learn from, and maybe attempt it myself. What I took away from this video is that to do the right job you can't do it without the knowledge and depth of parts that a pro like you have. You are truly an ace at what you do. If I weren't in New York you would be seeing me soon at your shop. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos. They are great.

Hiram I got yo tell you that your videos were prefect. I'm sitting at my bench and have just finished my 700r4 after watching your parts 1 & 2. I did this trans years ago and followed a guy on a DVD and he took only 2hrs to complete the reassembling process. Your info was great, I found so many mistakes from the first time I did it also. Thanks so much for doing this it was a pleasure getting this task completed and with your help I'll be on the road this spring.

I also had issues with the governor being at first a broken gear that I replaced ... cleaned up the governor with carb cleaner and after installing it it shifted once or twice and was once again stuck in its boar ....
I have since ordered a 10mm boar brush that I plan on cleaning up the inner sleeve of the governor in hopes that that will help keep it from hanging up in the future...
I also plan in doing a full trans flush to clean out all the old fluid from the transmission and converter...hopefully this will be enough to get this trans shifting gears again like it was just recently,
I had no issues untill just recently when the governor gear went any input I’m real thankful for.
Great video , great information thank you !.

I finally finished my transmission. i gotta admit this was my first time ever doing this. it took me several weeks due to my lack of experience. i damaged two lip seals and had to order more and the i freakin damaged the pressure regulator valve in the front pump but it was totally my fault. i got frustrated and pryed in a bad location. i got a new one from amazon no problem. your video was very thorough and my mistakes were totally my fault. thank you very much for this video

This has been an awesome video for me (along with part one) as I work through the disassembly and rebuild process of my 700r4.
If you still monitor the questions on this Hiram, I have one.
The green seal which is designed to separate the 3rd and 4th fluid, in my kit it was blue, and it seems a little loose to me. I goo’d it up with the green goo, but it only takes a slight knock and it comes out of its groove easy. I have since assembled the drum, I kinda hope it wasn’t knocked and is still seated. Do I need to disassemble and put a tighter seal on?

Hiram I was wondering if it is possible to peg out the pump slide to make maximum pressure all the time. Would this cause it to self destruction? Also I've been told that the 4l60e pump rotor kit can be used is this true?

I don't recommend that on the pump slide, but if your pump slide only has one spring add the internal spring. And yes, you can use a rotor from a 4L60E 13 vane.
