We have a small center like 6000 packages a day, maybe 25 routes. I run 300 miles with 40 stops. I sign for certain people on my route but I’ve known them for years and they wrote me a letter. Glad you’re back in the browns brother
This is a real man right here. Peoples fear of being perceived as a flawed human often makes us defend ourselves even when we are wrong. Awesome video bro keep it up!
Dont give management or even your fellow drivers any room to talk or question your integrity. My best advice is cover your ass by any means necessary and do everything by the book. Be in contact with management on every issue, always leave everything on them. Never trust anyone when it comes to a package that signature required and always follow the methods, last but not least, take pictures of everything on your board and keep a log of everything so you have evidence of your actions in case there are any issues. If you have any questions, feel free to hmu. I am happy that you were able to get your job back brother. Go show everyone what your are made of and make a brother proud.
I have worked for UPS for 2 years as a package handler. Six months in i had an issue with a co worker. Her and i did not get along. It kept getting worse. I ended up sending a text message to another ups employee calling her a name. It was childish and immature. I was called in upstairs with my shop steward and was asked about it. I didnt lie even though i was ashamed of what i did. My shop steward informed me that most likely i will get a slap on the wrist and suspension. He stood up for me but informed me that this behavior is unacceptable. I was not suspended and the co worker and i are on better terms. I thanked my shop steward for his help and he had no recelection of what happened! I reminded him and he said his job is to protect the workers but we have to protect ourselves. Im greatful for the union and i also glad you got your job back sir.
Glad you owned up to it that always gets your points with the them. Whenever you have a signature required package you always have to have some sort of interaction with the customer whether it be in person over a ring camera, etc..
Bro if your at FedEx and you sign for a package your automatically disqualified from ever working at FedEx ever again. Either if they got the package, It’s integrity issue. You def got lucky.
Thank you! • for reminding us never to sign for a package • for educating us as to the process • being open and showing us a time when you messed up rather than representing yourself as perfect - which no one is. Everyone had a job to do. You, your manager, the steward, the business agent, and the LP guy. Don’t be too hard on your manager for this - he didn’t warn you of the firing, but he did save your job. If he really wanted you gone, he probably would have been successful.
That’s good you got your job back bro ! I joined the union around 4-5 months ago after my probation period ! And I just recently learned I couldn’t file a grievance against a co-worker due to the fact that we are brothers and sisters. I’ve been with UPS for a year and some change and I’m currently a wharehouse worker as a pre-loader for the morning shift

Management wanna get mad when you sign for the package....but there are customers who will sit there and watch you knock on the door and not answer. Then they will open the door when you're already walking back to the truck and wonder why you didn't just leave the package. You cant win 😂

Hey, what’s going on question I just left the UPS facility in Long Island. I did not know that we had to compete against other trainees to hold three positions or even get a position there. they told us after peak season on January 15,They’re gonna choose 3 or 4 trainee out of 12 there going to keep but still lay everybody off on Jan 15 because peek season is over but they’ll call the 3 or 4 rookies drivers back in April during vacation time and having them work for another 2-3 months, then land off again into peak season PICKS UP IN OCTOBER And go through that for the next two years. I know each state and union is different but does New Jersey ups centers and union operate the same as New York when it comes to hiring new drivers or they hire you for the position and then you in get your book in 30 day because in New York you have to work 40 day in 70 days before you can get your book.
