- After a night of heavy wet snow, there were a lot of trees and wires down creating obstacles for everyone on the road. But, it was a beautiful day for plowing snow...like driving through a postcard!
Enjoy the DashCam View! - Авто/Мото
What a beautiful view
your right it is almost like a post card. I love it
Snow is beautiful
Always wondered what it would be like riding in a snowplow, it is COOL, thanks!
When I was younger *I ran a plow. BEST JOB I EVER HAD.*
the trees were beautiful
A simple and beautiful video....Thanks for share....Congratulations from Brasil.
another great plow video ,, was gonna ask where you were but someone else beat me to it
it sure is beautiful country your driving through ,,we don't have all the trees right up to the road here in IOWA where i live ,county won't let them grow that close cause they overhang like yours are during heavy snow
I've been plowing myself for 20 years and the last 15 as a contractor doing snow removal
never driven a big dump truck like yours ,, most of my exp is in small vehicles and heavy equipment like graders and blowers ,, i have also built some of my own equipment ,, most notably my 250 HP detroit powered snowblower which is built on a 1978 1 ton chevy truck
truck basically stock but i mounted the hydraulic power unit in the back for the blower i built and mounted on front ,, i can hydraulically power the trucks transmission allowing me to creep in deep snow and yet still drive highway speed
only used it 2 times this year and not at all last year and never had enough snow for a challenge ,, winter 2009 that was a good year for snow because at my farm that winter we got 66 inches of snow ,, near double average ,,i ran my snowblower for near 1000 hours that winter
Nice scenery I love days like that and the truck sounds amazing.
Thank you! It was a great day to driving around.
I also love the sound of that turbo going. It is the call of my people LOL 😂
I'm in Oklahoma but, dadgum, that is some beautiful snow ... Love it.... Thanks for the video
this guy gets it done. grabbing those gears. definitely not his first rodeo. seasoned veteran for sure. beautiful scenery to say the least
Thanks for taking us along!
So Beautiful!
Thank you! I love plowing snow on days like this!
Remember how many inches of snow you received that day ?
Nice video , thanks !
that right there, one reason I like plowing, that and when you get a small ice storm at night and the moon comes out.
Yeah, it can be quite enjoyable by times!
lol I also love driving threw a postcard great vid I come home from plowing for nysdot and watch you plow I think it may be a sickness lol
RubberSideDown
Doctors are trying to find a cure but no luck so far.
You are lucky the dog don't bark in front of the plow to say this is my road! 🐶🐕
I dont know how I ended up at a 24 minute snow plowing video, but ill take it
+shoebert31 Glad you dropped by. Thanks for watching!
shoebert31 thanks for the ride
Thank's that was so good. Your doing a great job.
+PEACEKEEPER313 Thanks man, I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Just ran across your videos. Cool stuff and thanks for sharing. Lets us city folks realize how easy we have it when the snow comes.
Beautiful
Glad you liked it!
This is awesome!!
Thanks for the ride!
+ZingsVideos The doors always open... thanks for coming along on the ride!
We've had practically no snow this winter, and it's making me a little crazy. I'm more than a little envious, I used to love opening a road after a good snow.
+Andrew Hecker We had a couple of goods storms this year but nothing like last winter. I agree, It is a lot of fun getting out on unplowed roads after a big storm!
Greetings from old Scotia.
Nice video. I wish we would have a winter like this.
Greetings from germany!
Whoo-wee, rural plowtruck paint jobs sure take a beating! :D
4:34 dog: OH LOOK A GIANT YELLOW CHEW TOY! : D
I'm think forestry needs to do some tree trimming. Lol great video
The full height wing towers used to come in handy on days like that.
Yes it would! I was thinking we should have some type of defector we can put on the wing post to get branches out of the way on days like this. The branches usually spring right back up once the snow gets knocked off them. Thanks for the comment!
100% agree with you and a great way to say it...
+Builder99 Thanks Builder! The hanging trees were a bit of a nuisance but it was beautiful day for plowing snow! It kinda makes up for the bad days!
Plowing snow is not easy work...Watching your videos and others show that...Looking for videos from Feb. 2016 snow storms...You take care and stay warm...
That plow seems to "ride" pretty good..old 70's tractor blow i use sometimes just wants to dig into into any dents in the roads :D but its not a floating design (only a big way too stiff spring keeping the blade vertical) and the ski's behind the blade got taken away years ago cause they did nothing.
Seemed every tree was just there waiting to get you :D some heavy snow and a nice video.
what part of nova Scotia do you generally do? and thanks for all the work and hours you guys put I'm over the winter! people only ever just complain around here about you guys but without yeh no one would get anywhere?
Pictou county Nova Scotia Canada!!!
Yes it is!
Great video, Man! ! ! ! I thought I might see somebody mushing a dog team through some of the places. Now if you put that video along with some smooth music, well I know that I could "drift" right off....No pun intended, but that was a great video. I love driving in my 4X4 (safely) on days or nights like that, great fun............Namaste
Very cool , just curios , what do the yellow #'s & letters mean? i obviously know what the date & time are, but the DOD thing & the ISO. Love these videos, only thing cooler would be a second camera out the back , to see what You have cleared. Im sure the second cam wouldnt work, would probably get covered in snow, but man it would be cool.
+Donald King The Dod is the brand name of the dashcam. The ISO is the level of sensitivity of the camera to available light. The darker the day , the higher the number will be, right up to OSO:3200 at night. As for a rear camera I would normally use a GoPro on the outside of the truck, but unfortunately lost mine and that's why I purchased this less expensive dashcam to use until I get another GoPro.
It would be interesting to get a shot of the blade so you can see the parks come off the wear bar
+FishFind3000 Good idea!
oh my goodness!! sir, you must have bionic vision, if i was driving i would be upside down in a ditch after 20 feet,, one question, how do you know from side to side where the road starts and it ends?? it seams like your going 60 Mph and thank you for not running over that pooch!! and btw i love your videos, you should be on the discovery channel
you getting a bad winter too? We are just getting our first major event, got about a foot over the last 2 days, and hoping for lake effect snow Friday. Could see 6-12 inches from that event and hopefully get ot for an extended shift due to a couple of sick co-workers. Anyways, good plowing as always, and great vid jim-Nate
+Nathan McNally Thank you! It's not too bad this year Nathan! We had a few good storms but nothing like last winter.
Thanks for your videos. How many hours do you get out of a set of blades? (front and wing?)
You are welcome! I usually go through three or four sets of blades during the winter on the wing and plow, depending on the weather. Most of the truck around here run two soft steel blades with a carbide tip blade sandwiched between them for longer life.
Thumbs up if you watched from start to end....... Thanks for the post card ride... Where is this at?
Please do more this videos, it's really cool to watch. But in which country are you driving?
+Findesáno This is Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada :)
Great video!! What state?
+truckie6119 Thanks Truckie! I an in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I'm willing to bet that everyone's cussing him as he passes their driveway
Wow lots of low laying trees and lines on that run.
Kyle
+Kyle L It was like that on almost all the roads after this storm Kyle! I think our two highway trucks that plow the Trans Canada were the only ones not reporting trees across the road.
Ok wow that was some Heavy
wet snow then.
Kyle
this storm was a pain for us, came in much later then the weather men predicted also lasted quite longer then it was suppose to. nothing like sitting on a site for 4 hours just waiting.
+Mr. Random Same here. They had us out on the road in the rain waiting for the snow to start that day. When she came it sure got messy in a hurry! Where do you plow?
i plow in the New Hampshire area near the Massachusetts line along the coast. the one we are getting to day is already"late"
☃️☃️☃️❄❄❄🌨🌨🌨🌬
How do you even know where the road is!!! I give you tons of credit!!
It can be a guessing game at times! You just have to slow down and feel your way along.
what make and model and year of truck were you running
where was this filmed?
How fast do y'all go through a set of chains when y'all running hard? Couple days? A week? One shift, lol?
How much ground clearance do you set the blade to? Is the clearance maintained by 'jockey' wheels placed behind the blade?
+Mike McInerney There are no jockey wheels on these plows. We have two shoes behind the plow and we set about 1 inch off the ground when the blade is on the ground. Thanks for watching Mike!
i guessing this is north central america. not wisconsin not minnesota no accents. plowing snow why is it so kool? gives you reason to enjoy the snow and scenery instead of watching tv. Has anyone ever slid into you with that big plow?
The person with the same accent always says there is no accent.....so...
☃️☃️☃️☃️❄❄❄❄🌬🌬🌨🌨
Do you ever sustain damage, broken windows, mirrors, etc?
+GPVlog I myself never broke any windows, but I'm sure it does happen sometimes. I had to get out and re-adjust my mirrors quite a few times on this day as trees would knock them out of adjustment. The mirrors out on the wing post take a lot of abuse and get broken quite often on these trucks.
Need a DRONE in the sky, or a gopro on back bumper so we can see all around that plow
Hey you scratch my roof! Guy just lost his snow shovel 🤣😂🤣😂. Guy just lost his dog🤣😂🤣
What plowing?
cool
Hopefully they cut them branches in the summer time
That would be nice!
Do u pick up your wing when you see someone cleaning their driveway
+ce Frosty No not usually. If we did that every time we passed a driveway the roads would be a mess and you would end up having to come back and plow it again. We are not trying to be mean when we plow in your driveway, we are just trying to make the roads safe and unfortunately all snow goes to the right when we plow it off the road. Thanks for asking!
+JimHowDigsDirt my plow truck driver dose and we slide out of our driveway
Like ....City of Hamilton Ontario
Where are you located?
Pictou County, Nova Scotia
Pictou Co?
Camera mounted on the inside of outside of window
Is that a Cummins engine on that bad boy? sounds sexy 😂
Nice to see through the computer but as a child and a young adult that's about it no more!!!! You can have that shit! Give me spring summer and fall but that 4 letter word keep!!!
I'm with you but it pays the bills in the winter!
some one needs to cut brush when not snowing truck getting slaped a lot
Better to wait till the branches are hanging down...easier to reach that way, lol.
Way too much slack in the wing cable, keep doing that and you'll eat that wing in the cab one of these days .
We have a safety chain on the front of the wing to make sure the wing never drops to low, so a slack cable is not an issue.
💪👍🇫🇮🇸🇪🇺🇦❤️😁
1:30 why dont you easily pass that car or all the others
Where is this? Not only did they finally get the car out of the way, they didn't even swear and throw their shovel at you!! Seems like these people appreciate having the roads plowed! I would trade plowing cul-de sacs and sub-divisions on garbage day with cars parked on the road and refuse bins left on the road any day for this run!! Western Star?
It's boring #back cam#
I will get some rear view videos for you this winter.
@@JimHowDigsDirt tqs so much
All this guy does is grind gears and bust equipment up... nah I'm just joking.
WHY DO YOU JUST SHOW YOURSELF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ?
THESE PLOWS DON'T DO A GOOD JOB REMOVING THE SNOW.
We gotta make due with what they give us.
