This is one of those rare times where i like the live version more than the album. It was just executed so well. Unlike the other 2 AOL acoustics in my opinion.
Hell yes he does!! Written from deep life experiences!! But the way they put it all together with Stevens voice pitched abilities!! Yup your right! The most unique ear dp I've ever had!! Lol! (Don't take that seriously) But yes can't help but to sing along at my loudest and worst pitch you've ever heard!!!
This comment didn't age well because 14 years later after this comment Go check out some videos of Third eye blind live I don't think he practices man I don't think he takes care of it
Totally agree. How long does it take to get into a crash. Lie on the payment and figure out you are not dead and get up and walk away? 5-10 seconds? And describe those 5-10 seconds over 4+ minutes. Great song no one has heard of.
I was hit by a car. You really have a lot more than 2 seconds. It feels like time literally slows down. I remember the weirdly lurching feeling of my stomach trying to orient to the new direction i was going in. Every time I drive past there now, I feel it happen again. I had enough time to do a few actions, so what was probably only 2 seconds to an observer, was probably like.. i dunno, ten seconds, maybe longer to me? it was enough to react and think about what to do.
It always amazes me how this band never got the credit they deserved. Every album, most every song were so well written, the band was always crisp, and Jenkins can sing!
Love Third Eye Blind. Love even more the fact that Stephen will punch it live when so many other lead singers ease off opportunities to emphasize certain parts of a song.
What a cool song this is. I’ve known many who have died from a motorcycle crash, while knowing those who’ve walked away from them as well. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good at what you love to do !
All I can think is wow..... Ya know I never even heard any of the songs of this album! Makes me wonder why this album wasnt more heard of....anyways I've heard it now an I'm in love with it!!! 3Eb is awesome!!!!!
Stephan Jenkins's voice has gotten so much better live. Saw them in '98 and was sorely disappointed. Now, though, I'm hearing recent live performances and am incredibly excited to turn to them for "new feeling" 3eb music. Go Stephan! Sing it out!
What a great vid. One of my top 3 fav 3eb songs. SJ sounds really good on this recording. Hopefully SJ will have some brilliance left for Ursa Major. Thanks for posting this vid.
One of my fav's too...a killer B-side, beautifully crafted w/ extreme lyrical relevance...(esp. to those of us who've had brothers die on a motorcycle..at least somebody got to walk away from their hit n run)
Feel the speed through the intersection Sheets of rain I seek out cars Hands in gloves grip handlebars I was ?? alone in the dark I get a little wet but I don't have to park At the bar another light starts flashing green As I ride a car turns left and I slide I can't turn back, I make contact Blinkers smash into mosaic Then I start flyin' Always think we get more time Now flyin' through the air And maybe I am dyin' In this motor crash maybe there's a sign? Don't we always think we get more time? I'm thrust slow mo through time and space Details smash, I protect my face And then I see yours And go to a time when we just knew Mister death in the car below Doesn't even slow and away he goes In the majesty of a motor crash Skid into my darkness forming Sex and death, heartbreak and strife But they bring no warning Always think we'll get more time Now I'm flying through the air And it's you who comes to mind And the red lights, like Cathedrals, there's a sign Don't we always think we get more time? Here it comes! My hit and run! Always think we'll get more time Now I'm flyin' through the air And it's you who comes to mind In the shattered glass reflections there's a sign 'Cause you were there And I wish we had more time I come down hard and roll to my feet And rain washes blood now off concrete People turn away and I just had to laugh 'Cause I'm still flyin' Living and dyin' Always think we get more time Now I'm flyin' through the air And it's you who comes to mind And this motorcycle crash there is a sign 'Cause you were there and I wish we had more time You were there And I'd like to thank Mister Death now for what he's done 'Cause I got to walk away from my hit and run (You were there) Mysteries are not so empty now as they seemed (You were there) 'Cause I saw you At my hit and run At my hit and run (The LIVE lyrical version is slightly different from the commercial version)
i got tickets to there show at the fillmore in detroit, im so fucking siked, im finally seeing my favorite band, i love third eye blind. they are so fucking highly underrated its sick. there catalog is just ridiculous when it comes to great songs. i cant wait for ursa major.
Thank you for posting this libido. I agree, nobody I know knows that third eye blind is still around. They assume they just quit after jumper and semi-charmed. But everything else they have done is so so so fantastic.
@lynettbrochill Tony definitely did his fair share in contributions to songwriting just not as much as Kevin did and as far as furthering the band's reputation, a lot of it had to deal with their dissolving record label at the time Elektra and the record label not promoting the album OOTV or the band, which they consequently dropped shortly there after. It did not have much to deal with Tony per se. A few years back they were actually the most requested band on college campuses
@ChrisCJLChris you can go to a website called media converter and it will let you take youtube videos and turn them into mp3s and download it. works like a charm
Well they bring no warningAlways think we get more time Now I'm flying through the air And it's you who comes to mind And the red-light like cathedral spells a sign Don't we always think we get more time Here it comes, my hit and run Always think we get more time And now I'm flying through the air And it's you who comes to mind In the shattered-glass reflections there's a sign 'Cause you were there and I wish we had more time Come down hard and roll to my feet Rain washes blood now off concrete
@mikks9876 well, i know that he left before the new album. he helped in it apparently? i think anyway. my educated guess is that he didnt really want to be a part of this new 3eb scene and retired to a life outside the band therefore. wiki says that the band reserves an "open door" policy for his return
@aplbomr79 Seriously...I even became more of a fan of Out of the Vein over the first album. They're amazing in concert, too. Saw them in Corpus Christi in November 2009. Friggan amazing...except they didn't play this song OR crystal baller...I was pissed.
Feelin' the speed through the intersection Sheets of rain I seek out cars Hands in gloves grip handlebars I was late so I rode in the dark I get a little wet but I don't have to park at the bar But now the lights start flashing green as I ride A car turns left and I slide I can't turn back I make contact Blinkers smash into mosaics
i know what a shame. but theyre coming back with a new album. ( ursa major ) its gonna be awesome. hopefully. but even when they were "in" that song wasnt one of the big famous ones. i mean it wasnt like the coolest song in the world but it deserved more credit.
@DMB44182 yea he can play the guitar, but his contributions to 3eb in terms of writing songs and furthering the band's reputation were minimal compared to Kevin.
People turn away and I just had to laugh 'Cause I'm still flying Living and dying Always think we get more time Now I'm flying through the air And it's you who comes to mind And this motorcycle crash there is a sign 'Cause you were there And I wish we had more time I'd like to thank mister death now for what he's done 'Cause I got to walk away from my hit and run (You were there) And the mysteries now are not so dark and bad as they seemed (You were there) Cause I saw you At my hit and run
Then I start flying Always think we get more time Now I'm flying through the air And maybe I am dying In this motor crash maybe there's a sign Don't we always think we get more time I'm thrust slo-mo through time and space Details smash Protect my face And then I see yours And go to a time when we just knew Mister death in the car below Doesn't even slow And away he goes In the majesty of a motor crash You sink into my darkness forming Sex and death, heartbreak and strife
SOmeone said in a post that his voice sounds good here. He usually sounds terrible live.. I'm wondering if that electronic gizmo next to him is a vocalizer/pitch corrector. He is a great songwriter but is lacking as a singer if he doesn't have "studio magic"
I FUCKING LOVE THIRD EYE BLIND!!! they better have more songs that compare to old albums on ursa major. enough of this bullshit different sounding Non-Dairy Creamer shit.
Tony f**kin shreds that acoustic.
This is third eye firing on all cylinders
One of those songs that is still so underrated hits still in 2024....had it on rotation the last few days.
this is one of those rare times where i like the live version as much as the album.... they pulled this one off great!
Yeah and when it comes to 3eb it’s super rare. They are usually shit live, but this is superb.
The Whole album is amazing!!! And all of the AOL sessions are awesome! 3EB is the best ever !!!
This is one of those rare times where i like the live version more than the album. It was just executed so well. Unlike the other 2 AOL acoustics in my opinion.
Eh the guitars need distortion this song sounds way better when played like the album
My favorite modern lyricist. Once told him he was better than Bob. Called me an asshole. My fav after Mick and Keef.
Anthony Burnam certainly up there. He sucks live, not gonna lie, but his lyrics are second to none.
dudes got the best voice in music man they make some of the realest and deepest songs ive ever heard
yup
Agreed. Plus he’s super hot 🥵

I don't think he practices man I don't think he takes care of it
This is the Jenkins I fucking love
Only these guys could make such a beautiful song about the 2 seconds that you remember from a motorcycle crash.
its those sliver of moments that they do so well... like a strike right through the heart.
Totally agree. How long does it take to get into a crash. Lie on the payment and figure out you are not dead and get up and walk away? 5-10 seconds? And describe those 5-10 seconds over 4+ minutes. Great song no one has heard of.

No words to describe how amazing this is.
HHEEYYY THIS ITS TONY!!!!!!!!!!!
WestCoastIrk and I’m Stephen
Arion rocks, wish he would return and make this band everything it could and should be.
Love Third Eye Blind. Love even more the fact that Stephen will punch it live when so many other lead singers ease off opportunities to emphasize certain parts of a song.
Still get on trips where I listen to this album for days at a time...
This is my favorite band...
Forgot how absolutely amazing this song is :) Love 3eb forever
3eb is the best ever
Such an iconic song.
"I'm steven....from Third Eye Blint" hahahah
fucking LA accent...love these guys.
homie, it's stephan
this song is so under rated (and i don't mean on youtube.. like how many ratings it has) i mean it doesnt get enough credit. its awesome.
His voice is perfect here. Better than the studio version. It probably helps that sound is so good. Nice job AOL sessions.
20 years ago. Timeless.
Stephan Jenkins has such a unique voice I really really love it
What a cool song this is.
I’ve known many who have died from a motorcycle crash, while knowing those who’ve walked away from them as well.
Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good at what you love to do !
This is their best song and it’s not even close.
All I can think is wow..... Ya know I never even heard any of the songs of this album! Makes me wonder why this album wasnt more heard of....anyways I've heard it now an I'm in love with it!!! 3Eb is awesome!!!!!

Wow.
Loved this song already
but this rendition made my day.
Thanks for posting it!
the way the camera circles around the band members is a cool touch 0:14
this song, and blinded are my fav, especially in these acoustic sesh's
just flat out amazing musicians, especially steve, holy crap what a voice
This song is a metaphor for my love life.
Thats cool, I saw them 2 or 3 years ago at Clutch Cargo's It was awesome. One of the best shows I ever saw. Have fun.
Brilliant version, love it, thanks for posting
Such a good fkn song. The lyrics are amzing and the music is brilliant

To see this live one more time...
so amazingly good here.
i miss arion

Thank you for posting this libido. I agree, nobody I know knows that third eye blind is still around. They assume they just quit after jumper and semi-charmed. But everything else they have done is so so so fantastic.
CHILLS

@Upyrazz And SJ is the driving force dawg. Things have been just fine since he left.
thx 4 posting this vid. i like this version of the song. u are the sh*t...
HEY THIS IS TONY.
DOES ANYONE HAVE AN HD RIP OF THIS?
always think we get more time.
Unpopular opinion: I think the essence of 3EB lives in Stephan, not Tony.
ricklestick not sure if you’re being facetious but of course it does!
Well, after Ursa Major, believe me, the essence of 3eb were Kevin, Tony and Arion
They should make an acoustic record 0__0
where are shots of the awesome drummer in this ?!?!
The drums are on a backing track also a 12 string guitar and some vocals .
@DMB44182 You said it!
@Upyrazz Ahem ahem. Crystal Baller? Its one of their BEST songs. Strangely not on any album kevin had anything to do with
Anyone have a Download MP3 of this?
ya i know just saying though. hahaha. i hadnt even looked at your other videos.
@mikks9876 well, i know that he left before the new album. he helped in it apparently? i think anyway. my educated guess is that he didnt really want to be a part of this new 3eb scene and retired to a life outside the band therefore. wiki says that the band reserves an "open door" policy for his return
is there any way to get a mp3 of this?

tony is so fucking goo0o0o0o0o0od
He actually practiced his voice back in these days.
Instead of surviving on his laurels
Kinda wish he didnt change the lyrics, but maybe this was how he originally wanted it?
Feelin' the speed through the intersection
Sheets of rain I seek out cars
Hands in gloves grip handlebars
I was late so I rode in the dark
I get a little wet but I don't have to park at the bar
But now the lights start flashing green as I ride
A car turns left and I slide
I can't turn back
I make contact
Blinkers smash into mosaics
Was Tony using an electric effects pedal on the lead riff then looping with the rhythm guitar parts? is that whats happening here?
I think i have this backwards, acoustic lead riff looped with electric rhythm effect?
@@paddedcaveyup that sounds right
Where is TONY! sighhhh
i know what a shame. but theyre coming back with a new album. ( ursa major ) its gonna be awesome. hopefully. but even when they were "in" that song wasnt one of the big famous ones. i mean it wasnt like the coolest song in the world but it deserved more credit.
haha same man
At 3:37 Tony looks at Stephen with a mean look. Were they beefin already during these times?
no he was saying to himself inside OMG I can't believe Stephan got the name of the Band wrong arghhh
+vIAVEI2ICK they were always beefin
he left after blue actually
It's a hard song to sing. Ever notice there are no popular covers for this song that aren't just instrumental?
@DMB44182 yea he can play the guitar, but his contributions to 3eb in terms of writing songs and furthering the band's reputation were minimal compared to Kevin.
Where’s Brad
People turn away and I just had to laugh
'Cause I'm still flying
Living and dying
Always think we get more time
Now I'm flying through the air
And it's you who comes to mind
And this motorcycle crash there is a sign
'Cause you were there
And I wish we had more time
I'd like to thank mister death now for what he's done
'Cause I got to walk away from my hit and run
(You were there)
And the mysteries now are not so dark and bad as they seemed
(You were there)
Cause I saw you
At my hit and run
Then I start flying
Always think we get more time
Now I'm flying through the air
And maybe I am dying
In this motor crash maybe there's a sign
Don't we always think we get more time
I'm thrust slo-mo through time and space
Details smash
Protect my face
And then I see yours
And go to a time when we just knew
Mister death in the car below
Doesn't even slow
And away he goes
In the majesty of a motor crash
You sink into my darkness forming
Sex and death, heartbreak and strife
What is Stephan doing with his hand? Haha
He's rockin out to the beat while singing!
SOmeone said in a post that his voice sounds good here. He usually sounds terrible live.. I'm wondering if that electronic gizmo next to him is a vocalizer/pitch corrector. He is a great songwriter but is lacking as a singer if he doesn't have "studio magic"
He looks baked out
hahaha
I FUCKING LOVE THIRD EYE BLIND!!!
they better have more songs that compare to old albums on ursa major. enough of this bullshit different sounding Non-Dairy Creamer shit.
Tony is sofa king good , action is sofa king good ... This band rocks , just lazy at getting new album done.
Oh yeah.. missed out a whole line, but hey.. if ya write it.. ya get the rights to change it (or er, forget a line!)
2 people missed the like button...
Are u fucking kidding me?
lol
There was definitely auto-tune involved with this, but it's a great performance nonetheless. Jenkins just has such a unique quality to his voice.
Weirdly Bo Burnham brought me here
way to put in live with no crowd and only cameras
libido i bet im a bigger fan than you.
