- The Wildfire Druid is a great subclass that combines the utility of healing, dealing ranged damage and have another creature to move around. Its found in the Dungeons & Dragons 5e book Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and is a game changer for regular druid players.
"Druids within the Circle of Wildfire understand that destruction is sometimes the precursor of creation, such as when a forest fire promotes later growth. These druids bond with a primal spirit that harbors both destructive and creative power, allowing the druids to create controlled flames that burn away one thing but give life to another."

I love the idea of a water genasi druid of wildfire. You could reflavor burning hands as a blanket of steam to cause fire damage. Great vid!

It have some really cool uses out of combat... Party "infinite" teleportation is massive. You can escape prison, skip some athletics checks and even bypass some doors as long as you can see the otherside.
Some other cool stuffs:
-At level 2 you "can fly" summoning your WFSpirit, turning into a spider and climbing on it.
-At level 6 you can knock enemies prone with a cantrip: Make you WFS go above the enemy, use Thorn Whip originating from you pet. That will pull the enemt 10ft up so he will fall 10ft tanking an extra 1d6 or damage and falling prone.
Also at 3rd lvl you can take Enlarge/Reduce and make your wildfire spirit bigger.

Only weakness I can think of would be that it's reliant on fire damage, which is often resisted by a lot of creatures. However, it's a great all-around subclass.
Indeed, fire is really ressisted but I wan't to point it out that even on this scenario you still a full caster with some cold spells, lightning and the conjuring(animal/woodland brings).
So just saw this video, with the elemental adept feat you overcome this issue

I’m taking a dip into light cleric to add some radiant and necrotic spells and also to get fireball
You can also take elemental bane to overcome resistance and add damage too.
also, sacrificing your spirit isn't a bonus action, it's a free action whenever you fall unconscious.
Bear in mind that elemental adept only works for spells, not for your wildfire spirit.

My english is rusty and idk if you said that, but I have a question: to control and attack wih the wildfire spirit I use my bonus action or my action? Exemplo, can I cast a spell and attack with flame seed?

Rich,,, great breakdown of the sub class. one question at 5:30 you state that you don't get Wild shape due to the wildfire spirit...
was this mis-spoken? i am only 2nd level currently but have 2 slots i can use either for shape or spirit. i have summoned the spirit then on my next turn shape changed... thanks,
What I meant was you can’t have both at the same time. You get the wildfire instead of, not as well as, according to the rules as written.
The rules don't mention that. It just says that you can use 1 of your 2 wildshapes to summon the spirit. There is no paragraph that states that you can't use your second wildshape to transform into a beast while still having your wildfire spirit
I’m doing a mixed race tortle wildfire druid. Their natural armor is 14+dex. I really can’t wait til I’m higher level!!
Tortle’s armor is a flat 17 AC but you can add a shield.
@@ryanparks3413 that’s why I said mixed race tortle. If U look at “an elf and an orc had a baby” let’s u play as mixed races. Half tortle last get the 14+Dex. My dm let’s us use it because it gives u so much versatility when making a character. Gotta read man
So my question is, why not do an Artificer subclass for your book? It's a core class and only has 4 subclasses, so I wouldn't mind seeing your take on an Artificer subclass
Artificer is one of my favorite subclasses, but I wanted to make the book useable with the free core ruleset. I may make an artificer subclass and release it for free as promotional material. Who knows, the next book could be all Artificer!
@@RichMerry that's fair, personally I've yet to play an Artificer and the only options that have peeked my interest so far are the Armorer and the Battle Smith since I like to play a bit more aggressively and in the front line, mid range generally being the furthest back I tend to go (unless I play a sorcerer, than I just make the character hell incarnate on the battlefield or just weird and awesome). On the subject of homebrew, I'm currently working on a Ranger Conclave (I like calling them "Conclaves" over "Archetypes" since it gives the Ranger something unique from yet another common trait between it and the Fighter & Rogue) that I call the Storm Seeker, I figured I'd start simple and try a more complex subclass down the line
