I once played a druid in a one shot that was born from a then defunct royal family. The family was infamous for every few generations or so spawning a natural born druid. These natural borns wielded the magic of nature through sheer emotional outbursts, mainly manifested as heat spells (ice and fire). She in particular was built to be a druid with a focus on the speed stat and jumping ability (our dm let us pick a couple magic items). The thing is, provided magic or an ability doesn't have some kind of extra requirement, it stacks with wildshape. So I took a handful of levels in Barbarian as well as the Mobile feat. Long story short I had an ice druid furiously dominating the battlefield with control spells only to cast Guardian of Nature and then Wildshape into a Dire Wolf when things got serious, only to add in Rage if Guardian of Nature ran out. With the bonuses to Jumping, a massive Speed stat, the abilities and hp provided by the wolf, and a greatclub my dm let me use in wolf form with my mouth, I managed to scare the hell out of the villain of the game. Mainly by opening up his castle hall and jumping from its entrance to behind him only to club him twice for 40 something damage and skip his evil monologue.

For my first character, I'm making a Dragonborn Shaman apprentice (Circle of Land Druid - Mountain) heavily drawing inspiration from the "pop-culture Native Americans", getting forced to move throughout the transitional ritual of adulthood. His Druidic focus, meditation focus and musical instrument is all at once gonna be his shamanistic drum and he's gonna adopt the party as his new tribe, aiding them as the tribe's shaman should.

I made but never got the chance to play a druid who was essentially an ecoterrorism Pinocchio. She had been carved from magical wood from the oldest and wisest tree in the forest to be animated by a wizard. She maintained a spark of life through the tree's magic and hated her maker, manifesting dtuid powers and destroying all his other work. He fled, lighting the workshop on fire on his way out, but she survived and will stop at nothing to a.) avenge the tree and the forest by killing or otherwise punishing the wizard (maybe binding him into his staff and planting it as a new central tree, to feed off his life force to energize the forest?), and b.) find or develop a shampoo that can protect her hair from bird droppings. she still reads "tree" to birds, so its an occupational hazard.

I have done something like your cursed druid. He was attacked by a wolf that was to smart in it s actions. His druidic magic is different then most by finding fruit that matures rapidly for good berry and guidance to just focus on what he is doing. But the different part is reskinning Primal savagery into a claw attack and using wild shape to be an Ape to be his werewolf form even having a thumb to manipulate some thing most animals can not

I created a character that was hexed into a frog by a grand wizard. Escaped in the forest where stumbled into the faye world. He gets initiated into the circle of dreams and gains a bit of his humanoid form, while retaining the appearance of a frog. 5 foot frog thats needs to take regular baths to avoid drying up and dying.

I’m going to be playing a Wildfire Druid with a Jack-O-Lantern head and a viney body. His flames are going to come from the ever burning flames in his head, and the plant themed abilities match him as well. I’m also reflavoring Shillelagh as him creating shadow scythe blades on his Quarter Staff.
I was considering reflavoring Scourge Aasimar to have flames billowing from his head, scorching enemies, but the DM ultimately allowed me to use a HB plant race that would make the whole vine body thing have more of a mechanical effect (without going for Plasmoid). Still reflavoring his fire aura from the Phoenix Soul Sorcerer ability from the multiclassing the same way though.
Wild Shape is also be reflavored as him condensing his vines into a different body shape, and the healing from spells is him bolstering his friends with necromancy.

Yesss I decided to make a druid that is a shadow summoner. Not gonna lie I took inspiration from an anime by having him use shadow puppets to bring creatures of the shadowfell into being. Its been a lot of fun so far having creepy monsters being summoned constantly, especially with the find familiar spell now being available with all druids.

This is before watching the full video. But at the moment I'm playing a druid who is more akin to a bender from avatar the last air bender. Since druid get a ton of elemental spells, I've flavored it as my guy is simply honing his abilities. His motions to cast the spells being that of earth benders, but as he gains more elements, he will simply learn new bending abilities as he grows. The wildshape, however... I have yet to find a way to flavor that. Lol
    Also, he's a land druid!
Edit: after watching the vid. Really great content. Love the concepts!

I have a Fire Genasi Wildfire Druid concept I want to use that's like the dryad in that he's just a wildfire spirit incarnated in humanoid form to clear away the old to make way for new growth. Which can be taken metaphorically and lead to a revolutionary attitude with general disdain for old money type nobility and entrenched bureaucracy. Could even end up being a champion of technological innovation! 😅 OK, at this point I'm just writing up his personality, but it's just an evocative idea.
I also really want to play a Spores Druid totally reflavored as a spirit medium with all their magic just being favors from their friends on the other side. Halo of Spores is instead a swirling cloud of spirits. The spell Entangle being spectral or even skeletal hands reaching up from the ground. Van Richten's Guide to Raventloft has some nice options for this for extra mechanical oomph.

      Yes and No.
Resurrection magic is not a simple or universal thing within my world and there is more to the cost then that listed in the spell which I have increased significantly more then standard but also a physical cost to the priest/ess performing the ritual and the soul being resurrected.
Reincarnation is used a lot more though it isn't a random body but creates a new body of the same race that the PC was before but with a 50/50 on the physical gender.
Raise dead is only available to six different priesthoods (of the almost 50 gods and goddess I have in my world) with a much higher cost and lower time limit.
Resurrection and True Resurrection though are only available to priest/ess of my Death Goddess as only she can grant access to the souls in her Halls if they haven't already reincarnated or being judged by her to ascend or to be obliviated.
Reincarnation is more important and more accepted then resurrection especially within some communities with a stigma on those that are raised instead of reincarnated as resurrection is seen as breaking the natural order of the cosmos.
I hope that wasn't too long winded for you

And honestly I have carried in into each edition since 3/3.5 and now 5e (yes I skipped 4e and stayed with 3.5 and Pathfinder until 5e) but only with some spells like not all.

I had a idea with a Warforged, who saw several colossus fight while he was stationed to guard a ridge and not move unless the enemy is spotted.
These colossui wasn't his enemy so he watched them first land in a flying ship, and immediately dig up strange glowing crystals.
Just as they found these crystals a scream of something came from the sky, strange giant birds shot fire and energy at the colossui. Then the colossui changed them selves into what the Warforged could describe as armored carts and animals, Metal Animals!
Then he appeared from within the ship, a inspiring Red and Blue Colossus. It's words Boomed across the valley, his weapons spit energy so hard at the birds that the Warforged could feel it in it's chest at every shot.
The Red/Blue one rallied the others and even carried a smaller yellow back into the ship.
The Warforged could only watch as one of the retreating birds breathed a beam at the cluster of crystals.
The Warforged reawakened much later, and after excavation it's self from the ground, he found his post/valley/everything just gone. A blackened crater was left and with no post the Warforged went for reassignment. But the war was over, been over for 200 years.
With no war, no orders, the Warforged looked back in the crater for anything. It found chunks of metal, a colossal finger, a few crystal shards, and a sheet of metal plating with a face symbol that the Red/Blue one had on.
'Colossui that could change into animals, could I do that?', the Warforged pondered as it carved the Autobot Symbol onto it's right shoulder.

    Some ideas.
The Changling: Pick custom Lineage. You are a moldable creature. Perhaps you're made of, clay, hair, mud, rubber, sand, water etc. All of your spells are just manipulating the material your body is made of. So perhaps you're a sand daemon who sends out sand minions to their beck and call (Shepard Druid) . Perhaps you're a being of pure fire who can send out bursts of flames (Wild Fire Druid). Maybe you are a clay monster who can mimic animals (Moon Druid). Custom Lineage, and Changling are good picks here.
The Florist: Some people actually find that singing to plants helps them grow. You have taken this to the extreme, composing all kinds of music to serenade flowers. This is basically a Nature Bard.
The Machine: You are a machine designed to cultivate the land and grow crops. However you were repurposed into a conservationist. You don't cast spells. You are a highly advanced piece of technology that can protect nature. All spells a flavoured as hardware and software functions.
The Renegade: You are a persuasive individual who learnt how to persuade Fey spirits into casting spells. You use this to assist in your own goals. Only trouble is, the Fey Spirits expect you to do tasks for them. Much like a Warlock.
The Summoner: You don't summon plants and animals. No. You summon humanoids to perform various effects. Maybe shape change is summoning a humanoid to take the heat for you whilst you run away. Perhaps Conjure Woodland Beings is actually you summoning humanoids to fight for you. Maybe healing spells are you calling a medic. Trapping people with plant growth? Your militia throw a net of barbed wire onto the battlefield.
The Temple: This is the classic Druid. In earlier editions of D&D the Druid was actually a priest who had divine magic. This flavouring basically makes you a Cleric of Nature.

One thing like to do is take out key descriptive words and replace them. Like star form. What if stars wasn’t your thing but stories, or planets or souls. What if your dragon star from was story form of the Spartan. Have fun with it

Some of these are more warlock or sorcerer concepts, like the hag. Druids gain their power from understanding nature not in a fully scholarly way, but rather in a deep, intuitive almost innate way, like how we just understand that the sky is blue or grass is green. A Druid might understand a given animal’s needs. Though it’s different than Charisma like a sorcerer or warlock does it. (Bards still need to practice and learn their songs, as they are just that: songs). It’s through understanding and respect for nature that they in turn wield it. If they connect more with the nature in cities, that’s still nature. If they connect more with a dragon’s ability to affect it and be a destructive force of it, that’s also fine, but they don’t get it through clandestine deals. They are taught it. A hag could in theory be your mentor, however, and teach you a twisted, corrupted view and understanding of nature and you can be a Druid through that, wielding curses, hexes, spores, decay, and other dark forms of nature.

Ah but then if your a sorcerer or Warlock you don't get wild shape! I respect that everyone has their own way of playing and lore. In my opinion, classes are just mechanics that can be applied in any capacity. Besides, if we want to talk about real druid lore in Celtic origins, all of them should be clerics.
Let's not hinder others creativity on what we think the lore should be :)

I also really like the idea of someone being cursed into being a Druid. It would also explain why you are low level, but an adult lol. That is always kind of a meta issue for me. Example I’m a 80 yr old Druid with level 2 stats lol.

Yeah I think druids should have a dragon focused class too… but what about a dragon that becomes a druid? Becomes part plant as it masters the ways of a druid, it’s hoard the nature it protects.

I do like a druid that works to balance nature and civilization. I mean like you said there are animals that build communities and alter their surroundings for that purpose. Look at ants, termites, or bees. Another big thing I wish would be changed as an actual canon rule, get rid of the stupid no metal rule. That makes no sense when you allow earth Druids and earth shapes. Like how would druids, or WHY would they completely avoid it. They could manipulate ore or molten metal deposits just like they alter wood, and nature for armor and weapons. Also how is it better to wear a dead animal vs a naturally alter ore into a knife?

heres the story to my current druid
he was a simple stone mason hill dwarf
    wanted a simple life
make statues, make / give components like jade, agate, onyx etc to wizards and other magic folk
just wanted to take over the family buisness and do his family name proud
one day a woman comes in with a commission for a special stone to be located, then carved with specific patterns
my characters father agrees and send him off to locate this stone
    well my character finds it
a strange glowing blue orb the size of a grapefruit buried beneath the snow and trees of a deep forest, right where the woman estimated it to be
But as soon as my guy touches it BOOM
the universe seems to reveal itself in his head
he knows the planets, the cosmos, the stars and their secrets
freaked out by this he tries to rush home via airship but get shot down by pirates and orb is gone
him and the other survivors of thr attack (the party) now have to get their stuff back, then for my dwarf has to learn to understand the magic he has
and get answers from the mysterious woman
was he set on this path on purpose?
was he a fluke? never meant to obtain this gift?
or is it a curse or an unknown pact with a greater power?
    he doesn't know
but he's going to find out
BTW this proccess took him from a CR 0 Commoner to a Lvl 3 circle of stars druid in the span of 1 second due to touching that orb
