I like the celestial warlock because to me it gives you a more personal connection with your source of power in roleplay than a cleric does. Clerics have this kind of expectation that you are tied to a bigger group or are serving at least a widely known entity. It's more 'official' in a way. A CW can be more obscure about their devotion, still holding onto some mystique. You're not necessarily one of many, you may just be the only one in service. It also feels a lil less overpowered if you are the favorite of an unicorn than a full-on god.

I made a point with mine to not take Eldritch Blast. I took Guiding Bolt and after getting my Pact Of Tome, took Ray of Frost for an alternative (and slowing) spell.

Eldritch blast is both a blessing and a curse for the warlock. If you don't pick it then your blocking off a lot of the warlocks strongest tools. On the other hand its a fun creative challenge to make a warlock without eldritch blast.
I've played a warlock without EB in the past and I found that the character naturally gravitated towards a more support/debuff role in the party.

you didn't mention the boost to radiant damage for level 6 which would also bump up the sacred flame ability. i still think blasts better but that could close the gap a little.

I like the idea of a celestial warlock on one very peculiar note.
Angels are of law and peace, they can predict but cannot comprehend some aspects of humanity. There was a theory that suggested that Angels do not have songs because music is a combination of opposites and Angels know no sorrow nor anger and thusly have no understanding or grasp of minor chords.
An Angel would probably just choose a person, knowing that person's life before them, and seeking to protect and serve them until they got of age before bestowing upon them their presence. This individual would pop up in a very crucial event by fate and would be able to turn the tide against evil if capable of helping, but left alone would not have that ability.

I've got a Celestial tomelock whose pact was made ritualistically and unwittingly (he got way too deep into his research and was pretty much sacrificed by a cult) and it's a pretty fun take on "not a cleric but definitely holy," almost sorc flavored

if you can make it too level 4, and get the healer feat with pact of the chain and gift of the ever living ones, the self healing invocation buff from your familiar, you can save on spells with the ability to self heal 10 +your warlock level before each short rest. taking a 2 dip in life domain cleric grants you a bonus 3+ spell level to your healing spells (not healing abilities like healing light) get you that heavy armor, so not taking shadow invocation is no big deal, and you get cleric cantrips to offset the loss of taking tomb pact. (and acces too healing word, which at level 2 9cleric) is BETTER than healing light. both take a bonus action, but because of life domain guarantees 7hp compared to a single healing light die of 1d6.
