Chuffed you found a bike you like, the passion was in your voice. She looks a stunner.
Cheers pal 👍
Superb. So pleased for ya Paul. Let's hope its not too long a wait...
Congratulations!!
Cheers Allun 👍
Congratulations Paul, I hope you won't have to wait too long. You have come full circle 👍👍👍
Cheers pal 👍
Congrats Paul 👌🏾 great choice and we can expect follow up reviews I hope. Ride safely 🙏🏾
Cheers pal 👍
Very interesting thanks, especially your change of mind about the DCT
Cheers pal 👍
Nice one, welcome back to the Honda fold 😀 The DCT is amazing and am sure you will have no regrets.
Cheers pal 👍
I ordered the NT1100 DCT before the test bikes hit the dealers or even seeing one in the flesh. So glad I did after hearing what you said about their availability and possible waiting times. Hope you don’t need to wait too long 👍🏼
Cheers pal 👍
You won’t regret getting DCT. My first DCT was on a CRF1000 and I only bought it because I couldn’t get a manual in the colour I wanted. 300 miles in I loved it after getting to properly understand how it works.
My only advice is to ignore your instinct and others views about D mode. The AT engine is built for low down torque and does not rev very high. The result of this is that it pulls like a train from low revs but most of us have come from high reving engines that need to be run higher up the rev range to get the feel and torque we need to perform manoeuvres such as roundabouts. You will find when using D mode just opening the throttle more will provide the torque you are looking for to balance the bike on slower manoeuvres in higher gears. By all means you can use the sport mode to create a safer feeling by running a lower gear, but the only thing you are doing is unnecessarily using more fuel due to the faster turning engine. If you are happy with this then that’s fine but I see a lot of negativity toward D mode through lack of understanding of the engine characteristics and how it produces it’s torque. As a truck driver I am very used to this slow chugging engine and gearbox characteristics so running D mode has not phased me. I understand that it is a little strange to most which is why I like to suggest to anyone about giving D mode more of a chance.
Happy riding on your new purchase.
PS. A mate had a CRF1000 in manual and in most situations (especially going up hill) he’d be riding two gears lower than me.
Cheers pal 👍 I'll give that a try
Thanks for th information..... I just purchased a 2022 AT DCT..... I also noticed liking it more on D mode compare fo Sports mode...... But I was reading all comments about using sports mode to be the best set up to use.
Hi Paul, all the best, looking forward to seeing lots of new dct touring videos 👍👍
Cheers pal 👍
Congrats on the new bike 👍🏻
Well done Paul hope you don't have to wait to long for your new bike,
Cheers pal 👍
Love the nt
I’ve got a dct crosstourer and it is amazing
I had all the same misconceptions prior to riding it and once I did I doubt I’ll ever go back to a normal manual.
Sub 4 mph car park practice is a must though. Figure 8’s and u turns.
I ride mine in sport mode 90%of the time and use the paddles for downshifts mainly. I also have the left hand rear brake conversion which changes it again. Great video
Cheers pal 👍
Hello Biker, what's the left hand rear brake conversion?
@@yewtreeknives5834 instead of a brake lever for the right foot mine came with a lever where a clutch should be which operates the rear brake
I imagine that is no coincidence that the dealers only had the DCT on demo. There is so much tosh written about DCT versions mostly based on what people think it would be like rather than reality but as you discovered keeping an open mind can lead to good surprises. The only thing that concerns me on a touring bike is that they have to cheek to charge extra for a comfort seat! Look forward to seeing your new bike in action.
Cheers pal 👍
At the moment I'm on a 2021 NC750x DCT. Perfect but......Tried an NT manual with optional quick-shifter (pretty cheap accessory by Honda standards). What a bike. Personal choice it's what suits.
Cheers pal 👍
Congratulations .. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long ..
Cheers pal 👍
I’m 68. Dirt and street from age 10. I now have a 2020 DCT Goldwing Tour February 2020. I was a bit scared to go DCT but I love it. I can do any maneuver I ever with a clutch.
Cheers pal 👍
Nice channel Paul, watched some of your touring vids and enjoyed your banter, reminds me of mine and my dad's vids 😆
I have to say I was quite dissapointed with the NT1100 with the lack of a shaft drive, like the Deauville, but does look a cracker of a bike.
Subscribed and look forward to more videos from you 👍👍
Thanks for watching, cheers 👍👍
That will be good. Fantastic bike…….. and DCT!
Cheers pal 👍
Thanks Paul, gotta get me a test ride booked. Rgds
It's a must pal 👍👍
I knew you would like this one Griff 🤟
Cheers pal 👍
DCT surely adds a layer of safety as you can concentrate fully on the road and fully enjoy the ride. Plus you can almost never stall the bike….. 😀👍
Cheers pal 👍, ghat was my thoughts aswell 👍👍
Hi Paul that looks fantastic and
Looking forward to your adventures when
It arrives. Old dave.
Cheers Dave 👍👍
good lformative video paul and good choice
Cheers pal 👍
A great choice Paul. I have the Honda nc750x dct . Great bike. You can ride it in manual mode or auto. Big plus you can stall it. Hope you get your bike soon . Happy days.
Cheers pal 👍
Love my DCT. I play with the paddle shifters enough to make the ride what I want it to be, without having to wear out my left foot.
Cheers pal 👍 looking forward to owing mine. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Great video Paul. Must admit fancy one.. But having trouble getting a DCT to test ride.. So keep the videos going really intested.
Cheers pal 👍
Fantastic choice of Bike, i have had 2 GS BMW's and 2 triumph Explorers, 3 NC 750's at different times, and this NT1100 ticks all the boxes, bit of everything in the NT.
I have the DCT on my X ADV, and after 2 years, its still fussy, in fact its irritating on roundabouts, when i changes gear, half way round when banked over, however i do like it OK ish, but not enough to pay extra for it.
its also a complicated piece of kit, that has left a few people (NC700/750 Forum) stopped, when sensors don't play good, possible early versions or winter riders.
You will need to get used to keeping your foot on the back break, for manoeuvring control, when in tight situations, (u turns etc ) as its impossible to have any fine control with your throttle, as its either on or off.
You can also put it in manual, and mess around with it on the twisty bits, for a bit of F1 style flappy paddle fun, so it is quite involving if you get a bit bored.
If i had the choice, i would always take manual, and maybe a quick shifter, Best of Both, in my humble opinion.
I suppose after Honda has used it for 10 years or more, on so many models, it has now been tweaked and improved several times.
There must be a reason, why only Honda has used it, much like their V4's , as no other manufacturer in the motorcycle industry seems to want, or need it, i don't recall anyone asking for DCT on a motorcycle, before, or since, the DCT was introduced, maybe just an over priced, over complicated Gimmick ?, possibly, just like their V4's.
The NT 1100 Could also end up a very underrated bike, like the NC750's, living in the shadow of the higher revving Tracers etc
Ill just grab me coat now,
👍👍👍
Cracking good choice, DCT sounds good to me. Reminds me of a CBF1000 had one 16yrs ago really smooth and comfortable. Have Africa Twin 1000 model, pulls like a train so yours should be the dogs. Bet your excited enjoy !!!
To be fair, feels as quick as the RT, smooth and the front feels really planted. 👍👍
Nice one buddy, pity about the RT, I'm still loving mine!
Hi Paul, hope you don't have to wait to long, I test rode and put an order in for a bike of choice for me back in October last year a kawasaki ninja 1000sx tourer and still waiting, march all well and good. I think with riding experience you just know if a bike feels right for you even on a short 2 hour test ride. The new technology you will soon get to grips with. Look forward to more of your entertaining vids.
Ps see if your mate wants to buy your bm while the price is as hot as it can be.
Cheers pal 👍
Bloody hell you have had the BMW 3 years!! Seems like yesterday watching videos of you on the Deauville!! Wow
Cheers Petrina 👍
Great stuff Paul, hope all goes well.the bonus ball is the Boss like it ;-)
Ride Safe Mr B \m/
Cheers pal 👍
Nice one Paul. Hope all go's well and you have it for New Broom.
Cheers Carl 👍
I like it and your video. Liked your intro so I got a feel of where you are coming from regarding bike history.
Sad to hear how tall it is. Many riders will be on one tippy toe at a stop it sounds like, such as 5' 9" tall or less riders.
Cheers pal 👍
I had DCT Africa Twin 3 years now. Going for the NT but going back to manual box.
Thank you Paul, for the excellent report. I'm in a similar boat to you, in that I'm waiting for a NT1100 test ride (last week's storm put a stop to that) but my dealer's demonstrator is a manual. I've just spent four years on a DCT Africa Twin and a couple of years before that, on a DCT NC750X, so I'm sold on the semi auto gearbox. HOWEVER....my local Yamaha dealer has a brand new Tracer 9 GT I can have now, with a £1000 discount, but of course no DCT. Oh the first world choices we have to make. :) I look forward to seeing how you get on.
Cheers pal 👍
@@paulgriffiths6404 Update: I finally got to take a NT1100 out for a test ride today.....deposit paid and delivery for a DCT model in white expected in May.
@@TheSuffolk58 congratulations pal 👍
Congratulations on your choice ,Paul .The biggest issue you will have with the bike is keeping the keys away from Ray !
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another DCT convert.. You won't regret it. I have the Crosstourer in DCT and absolutely love it....
Cheers pal 👍
Good choice Paul. I liked the RT but found legs too tucked up for me. Assume the NT has a similar leg bend angle to the Africa Twin so would be much more comfortable for me I think. I ride a GS Adventure - brilliant bike too and I’ve had no trouble with it but agree Honda reliability is a big factor. Safe riding 👍
Cheers pal. Yeah your right. I noticed the leg position once I got back on my RT. 👍
I’m just PX my 2018 DCT Africa Twin for a 73 plate NT1100 manual I was hoping for the 1100 with Dct but having the chance to ride the manual made me go back to a manual bike thought it was just more rewarding to ride 😮
Congratulations on your NT1100. Let me know what you think of the manual. I am considering changing mine back to manual in year or so 👍👍
@@paulgriffiths6404 I can tell you that I have enjoyed my DCT Africa Twin but I found times when it was a flipping nuisance changing gear mid corner was interesting 😳 and on steep hills even though I knew it wouldn’t stall I still wished for a clutch the Africa Twin is really simple to handle At ridiculous slow speeds the NT is even better ! (Amazing) the NT feels lighter probably 4or 5kg but amazingly hides it’s weight unlike the top heavy AT the NT is definitely much more compact and lastly easier to get abroad and move around!
Just found your color choice post.
Good on you.
I just watched a video that shows the red color and the multi color Africa twin sceam.
Wow they look awesome. Hope we get them in the USA?
Cheers pal 👍
Hope this bike comes to the us!
It's a cracking bike pal 👍
Can never go wrong with a Honda.
Agreed.
Cheers pal 👍
Hi Paul, I've moved on from my BMW ownership days without the slightest regret, BMW are not as reliable as they used to be TBH. As for the new bike with DCT, I have a Goldwing bagger with DCT and it's amazing how easy it is to get used to. Enjoy the new bike (if you can get one).
Cheers pal 👍
Was looking into the NT and it's not available yet across the pond. Seems like a pretty popular bike. Hopefully you are able to get your new bike before too long and give your long term thoughts. Cheers.
Cheers pal 👍
I own the Africa Twin 2020 ATAS DCT ES. It's very similar, just a bigger front wheel and more of a spongy suspension. Just a few tips, almost everyone that owns this kind of bike as a DCT drives it in sport 2. Nobody uses D for obvious reasons. Think of the DCT as a big scooter, but with a lot more power and style, then you wont be looking for the clutch. You can drive it manually if you really want, but I don't know anyone that owns one that does. The whole idea is to forget clutching and gearing up and down all the time, just sit back and enjoy the ride. I don't consider it "laziness" I consider it avoiding unnecessary work. The jerkiness is normal for anyone that is not used to it, but after some time and a few tweaks on the setup, you can smooth it out quite a bit. Takes a bit of finesse on the throttle. Dont wear thick or oversized gloves with the DCT, you can end up pushing the throttle while reaching for the brake and get unintended acceleration at the most inopportune times. It's quite unsettling when you do. I can pretty much promise the more you ride it, the more you will like it, but I'm not sure how well the NT does on gravel with those smaller wheels and smooth tires. IF you don't do offroad that's fine but there is always those lengthy construction zones or back road gravel that we tend to end up on. The speedometer always reads about 6-9 km/h higher than you are actually going, so if people are passing you that's why. The temp reading also reads higher than it actually is outside usually by 5-8 degrees C. I'm not sure why in England they are selling bikes with MPH on them, that seems a little strange. You are lucky you were able to test ride for so long. Here in Canada they don't give test rides. They pretty much want it paid in full before you can ride it, except in a few rare occasions like a special "ride day event". When I got mine, my "test ride" was driving it home after purchasing it.
Cheers pal 👍, thanks for the advice 👍
Hey Paul, I live in Mollington... just outside Chester...and yes, it's a lovely city.
👍👍👍👍
Hi Paul, thanks so much for your video. I am in exactly the same position as you, currently have a 2018 RT and have a test ride booked at Honda in Colwyn Bay on the 3rd March. Really pleased you like the NT, I am still sitting on the fence as I feel I'm sacrificing a few things the NT doesn't have, Key less ride, Shaft Driven, central locking, hill start assist etc. I fully understand your feeling about the RT, I have completely given up trying to sync my NAV 6 with my phone and my SENA, you need a degree in IT to even start planning a route with Basecamp! So my attraction to the NT will be the technology and the interface with Apple Car Play as I use this in my car daily and really like this option. I think the few things I am giving up on the RT will be well compensated with the NT features. So thnaks again for your honest opinion and thoughts around the RT, its really helped me swing towards the NT. I am now though worried about delivery/availability. Big trip planned to the French Alps in June so its sounds doubtful the NT will be here by then but I will see what Colwyn Bay say. Cheers.
Thanks John 👍
Don’t make a purchase decision based on the NT’s apple CarPlay. I’ve heard it works well in cars but on the Africa twin it’s a nightmare of a faff. You have to restart it every time you turn off the ignition. I’ve owned my CRF1100 since last July and have resisted installing my old garmin because I have CarPlay. But I have yet to find a nav app that will run preplanned routes through the big touch screen. The most I have been able to achieve is selecting a favourite to navigate to. Maybe there are apps out there that can run preplanned routes through CarPlay but I’m not willing to pay for yet another yearly subscription to find out if it does. Last weekend I finally gave in. A garmin satnav is far better than CarPlay currently is. (And once paid for has no annual subscription). I agree that basecamp is complicated to use but with perseverance it will start to make sense.
I’ll try and post a link for you but if I don’t find it look up Crusiemans Garage channel he has excellent instructional videos on basecamp.

@@eMotion_Video_UK Thanks Martin, very interesting to hear your view as likewise I am really struggling to route plan using Carplay. I get Google Maps and this is really useful and easy to plan routes, I can then create the Files from them to upload but you are right, I have yet to find an app that will receive the PDX File and then give you step by step route guidance. There certainly a gap in the Market unless its too complex/not enough demand for this sort of thing. Thanks again
Thanks for review though a bit shocked you never once mentioned your views on the DCT!?
Apologies Colin, the whole video was about DCT 👍👍👍
Thanks Paul, very helpful. What colour and options did you go for?
Cheers Dermot 👍 I opted for the grey one. I also ordered the Voyager pack which includes comfort seat and the spotlights. Thanks for watching 👍
Congrats looks like real nice bike. None available here in Canada yet. 🥂😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
Cheers pal 👍
DCT is the best technology put on a motorcycle since ABS. Obviously love mine (XADV). To appreciate DCT you need to assess with a "clean sheet". Making comparisons to a manual can miss the point. I found that ignoring the gear position, ignoring the rpms and just ride. If you want to go faster twist the throttle more. And if you want to go slower back it off. If you simply find circumstances would be better in a different gear than revert momentarily to the paddles. The gear changes are significantly smoother and efficient than is possible with a conventional hand clutch and toe shifter. Other than tight slow speed u-turn type maneuvers I find DCT to be superior in every aspect. I have a quick shifter on my BMW F900XR and to be honest it feels like a gimmick and is practically useless. DCT fits the classic statement "where have you been all my life". 😁 The NT1100? Nice. A possible replacement for my BMW as well,,,,???
Cheers pal 👍
Yeah Hondas don’t burn oil though your 900 maybe does not but the world knows the boxer motors still do after all theses decades. Of upgrades.
Ref the DCT I think you've made the right decision. I bought my DCT Goldwing Tour at about the same time you got your BMW. You will get used to it quite quickly but I found it took me about 3 months to fully understand how to use it to best advantage. A test ride isn't long enough to do that. At first I thought that in some modes it was changing up too quickly but actually I've now realised that most of us leave changing up unnecessarily late when riding at normal road speeds, though I am of course talking about a bike with monstrous amounts of torque at low revs. When I first got it I tended to ride mostly in full manual mode. Even in that mode DCT is better than conventional IMO. Far smoother and more convenient changing with the little up and down paddles than a conventional clutch and foot pedal even with a quick shifter. As I got used to it and became familiar with auto I started to use that more and now I tend to ride about 70% full auto and 30% manual depending on my mood but I've learned that I really can trust the bike in full auto in all 4 modes in all circumstances, though sport mode is a bit wild on anything but open roads. There is actually no need to ride in manual mode at all but I do just for fun sometimes. I have a couple of classic bikes as well. While riding those I sometimes find myself thinking "I wish this thing had DCT". Conversely when riding with DCT I never find myself thinking "I wish this had a coventional box". I hope you manage to get hold of the new bike sooner rather than later. It looks like Honda have really hit the mark with that one. As for me I'm happy with my Wing. The updates so far aren't significant enough for me to trade mine in for a newer one and in the first three years it has been 100% reliable. Not even one little niggly fault since I've had it.
Oddly I was never interested in a Goldwing because of the size and weight, but mostly lack of funds. 😆 Until I got my first Africa Twin DCT. Then I suddenly thought that Goldwing must be a doddle to ride with DCT. And have had an itching to ride one ever since.
Cheers pal 👍
@@eMotion_Video_UK I suggest you try one. The size and weight really aren't as daunting as some people think. I'm only 5'6" and weigh in at 10.5 stone but have no trouble with mine at all. With DCT you get the forward and reverse walking modes so you never have to really manhandle it and push it around and as long as it is on level ground it rolls up on to the centre stand very easily. The low seat height and low centre of gravity make it feel much lighter than it is. It isn't the quickest steering bike in the world but that is as much down to the long wheelbase and geometry as the weight and on the plus side it is incredibly stable once under way and very easy to ride feet up at walking pace. All in all it is much more of a motorcycle than many people believe and actually a pretty good all rounder. I use mine for everything but it won't match your A.T. on the rough stuff :)
@@iannicholson9875 The size and weight I was referring to was the older model, which I didn’t really like the look of either. I’ve had too many Hondas now to realise it was a good bike. It just wasn’t my thing, but on seeing the new one my attitude changed because I started to like the the looks. That’s when I had the light bulb moment and really fancied a go on one with DCT. If I ever win the lottery I’ll definitely book a test ride. Unfortunately my dealership knows I can’t afford one, so is going to be difficult to blag my way onto one. 😆
I ride my NC in Sport 2 mode. Perfect for me, and I can always shift with the paddles before a corner or once I'm ready to just cruise in 6th.
I have this one Voyager Pack was free with the 2023 model. Last one was only in available in White really wanted Red but that's 2024 new release model. All in all saved £1500. One thing I didn't like was the very short front mudguard. So I got the longer one in White from SportsBike Shop £130 black is £65 White looks really good. SatNav it has Carplay.

Great transition Paul, what tickles me it that Comfort seat is an option,,Thought all seats should be comfortable?

Well done mate! Now order some goodies to go with it! Top box, spot lights, tinted touring screen, tinted wing deflectors and exhaust! Lovely! What colour did you go for!?
Yeah, went for the grey one, just looked a great colour. Ordered the Voyager pack, which includes top box and spot lights
Hope the new bike arrives soon. I am sure the NT1100 is a great bike, but at 5'4" I think it is a little on the tall side for myself.

Congratulations Paul I’m having a test ride soon on the DCT did you order it with any extras like top box ect 😊
Cheers pal, yeah I got the Voyage pack, Inc top box, spots, larger pillion pegs and a tank bag.
Good watch that Paul

Congrats on the order. I’m waiting for the NT1100 to be available in the US for a test ride. Any word on when you might be getting yours yet? Oh, and don’t forget that the DCT can be ridden in manual mode with you doing the shifting - just no clutch to worry about.
Cheers pal 👍 thanks for watching 👍👍
I enjoyed your video Paul. My last 3 bikes have been 'clutchlever-less' (I have arthritis in my hands); an FJR AE, Africa Twin DCT and the Goldwing DCT. I now want a lighter bike, but one my wife can be comfortable on. I'm originally from Halifax and moved to Canada many years ago, and the NT isn't over here yet. I have my name in the hat at my local dealership for when they arrive, but my reason for commenting is to find out what your wife thought about being on the back. My missus was okay on the FJR, but not the Africa Twin at-all, she's very comfortable on the Goldwing (of course) but it's me that wants to come down in weight. I'm 5'-11" and the missus is 5'-8". I look forward to your reply. Cheers, Bob
Hi Bob, yeah my wife said it was ok 👍. However it did have the comfort seat
Thanks Paul. I’ve been trying to find out when the NT may be coming to Canada, but the dealership sales guys are quite tight-lipped.... still, I have a Goldwing to ride, so I ain’t complaining :)
Oh, BTW Paul, the Goldwing I’m riding now is my 41st bike. Cheers, Bob
I'm trading in my CB650R for NT1100 manual. Need to wait about 2 months for it to arrive but i've put down the deposit already. Can't wait :3
You'll love it, pal. I never rode the manual however, I believe it's a lovely smooth clutch. Congrats pal and thanks gor watching.
Nt 1100 dct is a great bike for reasonable price. I already test ride twice and I like it . What i like about nt1100 is i can stand up ride like africa twin and dct s2 is better
Cheers pal 👍
I had an AT 1000cc DCT and it was too tall and too heavy for me. I had it four months :( I imagine the 1100 engine is very different. More Sporty and better feel with that 17inch front tyre. I spoke to my local dealer and he said a lot of people are trading in their AT for this bike. 90 percent of their orders are for the NT1100 DCT. I currently have a deposit on a Lowered BMW R1250GS TE. I am tempted to try out the Honda. Thanks for your review :)

Hi Paul,
Go back to smiths again and go for another test ride they have now fitted a top box. I Rode it 2 days before you and had it in s3 with the wife on the back and found it a little to aggressive on gear changes but s1 loverly 2 up. I fell in lust with it and placed an order for one with dct
haha when i first got a VFR1200 DCT i was always going for the clutch it will take a while to get out of the habit, now ive gone back to a FJR with a clutch the amount of time ive nearly stalled it coming upto the lights is crazy lol

Ordered mine as well, but I went to manual with quick shifter on it.
Congratulations pal 👍
Hi.
Unfortunately, at the dealership in my area there are no NTs on trial.
Do you think a person 175 centimeters tall touches with the entire sole of the foot?
I'm 5ft 10in, which is approximately 177 cm. I can just plat foot. So I reckon with a stretch you could just about flat foot. 👍👍
I think I will get the white one and some one will eventually make a tri color vinyl kit for it. In Honda racing logo.
Good honest review congrats on ordering the NT1100, what colour did you go for?
I decided on the grey as it looked better than ghe whire and black 👍👍👍

I did consider another BMW Purley for the 3 year warranty and aftersales. The icing on the cake was the brake discs warping at 17k even though the original pads still had well over 50% life left. BMW told me this is another popular known fault caused by the hill assist. I might of stayed if they had sorted those issues out. 👍👍👍👍
@@paulgriffiths6404 fair do's like i have said my old VFR warped its discs at about the same mileage! Interestingly, the R I am buying is coming with a 2 year Motorrad warrenty on top of the remainder of the original warrenty - apparently not many BMW dealers offer this. Sounds like the NT suits your purposes and at end of day thats all that matters.
I have no desire to even try a DCT. Shifting is an important part of riding a motorcycle that I enjoy. Ok let the arrows fly once I give y’all my rear so to speak!😬😄
That said I like the idea of a mini Goldwing.
You nailed it the DCT is for the lazy rider!😂
“BM” WTH You dropping the “ M” when talking about a BMW?
Maybe you need a DCT? Lazy man’s ride! You said it so I am repeating it.
I actually like your review though you sure like to jump around on your thoughts.
Now that I know you bought a DCT I hope you never regret it and are always safe as you travel. Europeans are not fair weather riders like so many of us Americans have become. Next we will all be DCT ting over here in America trying to decide which bathroom to use!😳
I was the same with DCT. I was determined not to like it. However ended up loving it. Thanks for watching 👍
I've never ridden a 270 degree parallel twin. I have a 90 degree V twin. How do they compare for smooth running ?
They seem really smooth. I currently have the R1250RT, previous to that I owned the v twin Honda Deauville. The new NT1100 has no were near as much vibration. 👍👍
Not a model I'd have put you down for. Is this decision off the back of the ABS failure?
Based on alot of warranty repairs pal 👍👍👍
Not sure if I’ve seen that over here in the U.S….The Honda’s I’ve owned were always reliable.
I would try a Tracer GT and the Tiger 900 GT PRO (disclosure: that was my choice) before making commitment, however, I do think the NT would still be good choice, particularly with the DCT box (I had a X-ADV before the Tiger), I kept mine in "Sport2" and I do miss having the DCT on the Tiger. The Honda AT did have a foot operated 'Gear' lever option in lieu of the Flappy Paddle switches, which may be better way of Shifting when in the fully manual mode. Anyway good riding with whatever you go with. Cheers, Gordon
Cheers pal 👍
I wish the NT was available in Canada
You ordered one. I can not even get the local Honda dealer to take a deposit on a Honda CT 125. KIngman AZ. They are are also a HD dealer and show no interest in selling any other bike.
😟😟😟😟 wow, that does suprise me. You would think they'd want the business. Thanks for watching pal 👍
Great choice Paul. DCT is the way forward pal. Built quality on the 2 Honda I've had ( Hornet 600 and VFR 800) have been excellent.About the height , was the suspension set high? I thought the seat was 820mm on the NT ? I'm a short ass at 5"6' and I'm on the balls of my feet on my bike with the same seat spec.
Cheers pal 👍, my old 08 Deauville had no issues. Regrettably sold her though. Time to move back to Honda
I was confused about the seat height thing too.
I watched Mark Pullings review on the NT and English Biker Dan and they are both short fellas and they were almost flat footed.
@@DDLovett yea , Marks one is that's the review I saw.
@@johnakyle5908 I got it wrong with Dan. I was watching his review on the GSXS1000GT today and confused it with all the NT videos I've been watching.
I'm sure it's a great bike to ride, pity it's not shaft drive, it looks like a big scooter from the front and the colour choice in this first year is very limited. I'll be interested to see what problems arise, they usually have them fixed and recalled in a year or two on new models.
Cheers pal 👍
Paul why don't you check out the Honda Crosstourer? It looks a great bike. 👍
👍👍👍👍
It will be reliable (it’s a Honda) comfortable, luggage, signal cancelling, heated grips, riding modes. Low price. Whereas BMW are expensive and unreliable
Cheers pal 👍
Nice video Paul! Thank you for sharing! I think I would be ok with the DCT but the bike - in my opinion - looks awful, and pretty sure its not as powerful as the RT
I think I would rather get a Goldwing ;) But anyway, good luck with it! :D
At least it's a QWERTY keyboard, and not AZERTY hahah!
Cheers pal 👍
I think we have all been conned as to the reliability of BMW bikes by the big bike magazines, Ride, Bike etc.
Every BMW review mentions BMWs renowned reliability, even when bikes have broken down during their reviews. Makes no aense.
Agree pal, it's a lovely bike when it work. Sadly for the most part of ghe last 3 years it didn't 😞 😔
You’ve said your impressed with the comfort seat but your on your tip toes, will you consider lowering the bike slightly to give you a better footing
That's something I might consider once I pick it up 👍👍👍
@@paulgriffiths6404 is it possible to get a factory lowered one to save you the hassle ?
Got a question. What are your initial thoughts about the comfort?….
The comfort is really good if you opt for greater comfort seat. The standard seat is like sitting on a brick. Leg position is pretty good too.👍
Any update on when it arrives ?
I been advised hopefully end of April 👍👍
Hi Paul. Have you received your NT yet? If you did, what do you think of it now? Please let me know as I'm top of the list at my local dealership for when they come across to Canada. Cheers, Bob
Still waiting pal, can't wait to take collection. 👍👍👍
@@paulgriffiths6404 Hi Paul. Any idea when it’s coming? Would you give me a ‘run-down’ when you eventually get yer mitts on it please? Cheers, Bob
@@bobwardley1606 will do Bob 👍👍👍
Nice bike Paul just wandering is it comfy 😜
Yeah, really comfy pal 👍
It’s a shame about the beemer cause they are lovely bikes I owned a 66plate rt 1200 and covered nearly 30,000 miles trouble free bought a 1250 and lots of issues with the electronic suspension now ride a k1600gt good up to now 🤞. Happy new bike Paul 🏍
@@geoffmatthias3056 Cheers pal 👍
The NT 1100 isn't available to us in the States, otherwise I'd buy it. The NC750X is 58 hp so that's out,
so Africa Twin it is!
Hopefully Honda will release it to the US soon. 👍👍👍
Get to trust the D mode my friend
I think the front of the bike looks a bit blobby, otherwise the package is amazing value. Having a DCT already it’s a no brainier, the main downside of my Ducati 1260 multi. Judging by the interesting at the NEC and Excel show this is going to be another biggie for Honda. It’s not going to set the world alight but it hits all the spots as a reliable long range tourer, could never trust a BM. Looking forward to the long term tests.
Cheers pal 👍
