It sounds so good. I know Honda is pushing the DCT, but I think I'd feel a bit disconnected from the bike. I'd prefer the manual and it has the added bonus of being cheaper. These aren't in the USA yet from what I could find, so I appreciate that y'all take the time to upload your rides. :)
Thanks! Not sure on the screen position I think it was in the middle if I remember correctly. I’m 5’7” and seat was in standard position it was also the comfort seat too.
Hey Jake what a great looking day for the ride I think this would be the best option to have rather than the DCT one I think the two speedos are for when the TFT is used as a sat nave correct me if I am wrong is it ?? good review good run cheers : )
A good first ride review. I have been into the dealers to see the bike first hand when the roads were icy and will take a test ride shortly but the bike looked fine. The thing that putting me off are the colour options, they are not the best in my opinion. Today, Honda teased a new cafe racer the Honda Hawk 11 that is based on the NT1100 and it shown in a cracking blue, why could Honda give us more vibrant colours for the launch? Otherwise it looks a great touring option.
Thanks!! I would highly recommend a test ride, great machine for touring in my opinion and clocking up plenty of miles. I would definitely agree that more exciting colours should be made available too. Also the Honda Hawk 11 definitely looks interesting too but not sure if or when available here in UK. Cheers Jake.
I´ve never owned a Honda before. I´ve had Triumphs, Yamahas, BMWs, Suzukis in my past to draw my humble experience from, and now was the time for Honda. So I just ran to the dealer and purchased this dream machine as soon it arrived Norway. And this is to me - by far - hands down, THE best motorcycle I´ve ever ridden. And I´ve had a few over the years as mentioned. I´ve got plenty of boxes in regard of motorcycling, and this one seems to tick them all. I steered clear of the DCT, and though I can understand why some are into that dual clutch transmission, it really isn´t for my liking. Smooth and effortless in operation, yes - but after a while it gets to a point where I felt the bike were compromising my choices, or what I am after regarding riding experiences, i.e. I´m approaching some bends and I want a downshift, and the bike (DCT) plods along when in auto. The bike is not a mind reader, so then you have to flick down for a gear change with the switch at the left controller. Easy peasy, yes - but to me, ot´s so easy that it takes away parts of the fun and that good unmistakingly good feeling of doing a perfect turn from your own execution, due to the choices you make yourself, if you get where I´m at: It´s me who rides the bike - NOT the bike that rides me. And my left foot would be totally out of a job. So in order to keep my left foot busy, I opted for a quickshifter instead, and that adds more fun and good feelings in my book, than what the DCT really does. Seat comfort: I rode it quite a few miles with the standard seat before fitting the comfort seat, leading to an even more blissful state of comfort along the roads. Really recommend going for that comfort seat with red stitching, looks the part as well! So far, Honda has left me gob smacked with this machine. And something tells me it will for quite some time to come as well. Happy riding!
The DCT tries to be a "mind reader". The NT1100 "brain" takes input and information from various sensors and data to assess and determine through algorithms your shifting requirements and adjusts accordingly. After 10 years and much experience the recent DCT versions are getting amazingly good at this prediction learning logic. Plus using the paddles can correct a gear position with intervention any time. My experience is that DCT adds to riding enjoyment. Obviously I'm a huge DCT fan! 😁 I just ordered an NT1100 and look forward to getting it. (3 months I'm told). I had an XADV and lived it! The NT1100 will likely replace my BMW F900XR primarily because of the DCT. But, I know you'll love the NT1100 with the manual just the same!
I’m also a big fan of DCT on these Hondas too, I think personally it’s a great system and seems very smooth tbh and ads to an enjoyable effortless ride. Loved it on the XADV and especially the gold wing GL…Ride safe.
Shame on Honda. You can try it but it is impossible to receive it before June or even July. My dealership just told me over the phone and I ordered it earlier this year. I live in Switzerland
I ordered a new XADV and now waiting 8 months. They say maybe it will come in 2023! So I just ordered the NT1100 that hopefully comes in September 2022.

You’re welcome! Yes the manual 6 speed gearbox is great tbh and at that lower price tag too. However I must admit I’m a massive lover of Hondas DCT.
Where have you positioned your insta360? On the handlebars? Cracking view!
Thanks! I mount it in various places tbh to get these shots. 👍
is it stable until top speed? very very good video!!
Thanks! It was fine tbh.
nice review. You said there was no wind at 70mph which is great but how tall are you and in which windshield seat height position was it at ?
Thanks! Not sure on the screen position I think it was in the middle if I remember correctly. I’m 5’7” and seat was in standard position it was also the comfort seat too.

Yes Nice to see some sunshine tbh..I think you’re right about the TFT makes perfect sense. Cheers

Agreed. Would like to see what that Honda candy red looks like on the NT.
Thanks for a very informative video.
You’re welcome!
Nice work. Must be a fair old task editing that, so thanks for taking the trouble.
You’re welcome Joe glad you enjoyed it! The editing is a little more involved but definitely worth It i think. Cheers Jake.
Apple Carplay & Android Auto take up the whole of the top screen, which is why the essentials are shown in the small LCD below it.
Ahh ok thanks for that!
You can have the Google Maps on the big screen and you see the speed on the smaller screen
How loud are the turbulences in the different screen positions and compared to other bikes?
Didn’t notice anything to worry about at all tbh Lari, screen works very well.
FYI, the bike you test-rode had the optional comfort seat fitted
It was very comfortable Brian tbh.

This is great to hear! And totally agree it’s an amazing bike.

I’ve bought that very bike
Nice one Chris! Lovely machine…I hope you enjoy it. Cheers Jake.
Please mention this motorcycle not coming to America. Tha5s what my dealers told me
Not sure if it’s going to be available in US Jorge, but it’s definitely possible I’m sure.
您好,这摩托漂亮,不知道中国销售的话,多少钱😁

That’s quite a wait isn’t it!
Seems to be the case with a lot of bikes and cars lately. Wouldn't blame Honda for it. We don't even have this model on the US website yet.

@@sunrisejak2709 I bet you’re looking forward to that!
@@RiderReviews 🤞😊 I ordered the white one.
If i was a younger man and still working, i would seriously consider one of these bikes. But I am happy with my two Honda ST 1100's i currently own.
Great bike! Didn’t the police use the ST 1100’s at one point.
@@RiderReviews, i believe so.
I know this route very well as from the same area so I guess it’s from the local Honda dealer lol
CJ Ball Honda in Norwich Andrew.
