You know I love a naturally aspirated V8 that revs past 8. Awesome review and a very sweet setup. It looks like a lot of fun to drive, and even more fun to listen to.
@@brettstuchbery1672 it’s such a different experience from a car that makes power and torque in the low revs. I’ve owned an R35 GTR and much prefer the driving experience of my RS5 (V8) because you have so much revs to play with. Great review and love the highly strung LS1 build as most are built for low end torque, rather than high end power... Reminds me of the old touring cars or NASCAR...

Thanks mate, I’m pretty sure they are still stock as we didn’t want to go solid mount or anything as it introduces too much vibration through the engine and makes the knock sensors go crazy lol
This is my favourite car , just what I want a track day car on the road , it's hard to get off the mark but see how fast the speedo moved when it hit 2nd , and that glorious na ls1 revving to 8 grand , dam I want it

I guess I don't need 8000rpm, especially since it comes with some major drawbacks, like they mentioned how much revs you need before it starts moving. Still, I do love revs and over 7000rpm would be nice.
@@mrnicktoyou decent size cam in the high 230’s/240’s and you’ll still be able to rev it into the low 7000’s and not lose all of the torque down low like me hahaha
I spent a few months converting it back for the roadworthy after removing all the racing interior, cutting out the cage and then had a separate standard bonnet and complete stock manifold, intake, exhaust etc with 100mm road clearance and everything so it was a big job but 100% worth it. :)
The fastest I’ve had it was about 250-260 down the front straight at Phillip Island race track but it’s still pulling hard so would definitely go quicker with a longer run

11:18 - Do I see a bit of blow-by? Mean build! But hope the top end is coping
We build it with looser ring gaps to be able to run NOS if required but haven’t needed it yet with the power it makes haha
Just needs a quicker shifting transmission.
I’d like this setup on my VU Ute.
Manual still feels good tho
It has a GM Motorsport Rip Shifter so is quick for shifting but it’s just my granny shifting that makes it look slow haha
