In South Australia these Ute's go between $10,000 to $50,000 depending on the trim level. A full spec SS Holden ute v8 that is mint with very low kms is $50,000. Holden's are definitely going down in price. I remember buying my commodore also known as the commie, for $750. I'm not sure about different states in Australia but that's the appropriate price. There is alot of Holden's in general in Australia that's why they are cheaper. Also there is a lot of commies are at U Pull It, mainly the 6 cylinder because they die between 100,000kms to 275,000kms appropriately. The v8 Holden's are the most reliable. The 1980s and below commodores are also reliable

GM USA marketed the Holden ute as a Pontiac G8 ST or sport truck as what ST meant. they used 50 cent as the face for it.
American public didn't take to it and GM thought wouldn't sell so never sent it.
Maybe if they advertised it as a Chevy SS and left it looking like a Holden and not ugly Pontiac fronts it might of sold better

Same, but I can't stand those who swapped badges and panels to "make them" into Holdens. You bought a Pontiac G8, it was born with that VIN but they argue "it was the same".. yeah that's why a numbers matching car sells for 4-10x what a "swapped one" does. (ie: A 340 Cuda to a 426 Hemi Cuda vs a legit 426)

Amazing to see Travis's collection! Love the Chevy SS (Fun fact, you guys got the heated AND cooled seats in the US, where as us in Aus (One of the hottest countries on earth) only got the heated seats) The Stealth blue (Which in Aus was called K-Pow!) G8 just looks incredible. In a boring world of EV's, Trucks and SUVs, always love seeing some rear wheel drive sedans and Utes with such a cult following

@MrHughk1 likely so. They all spent the day together and went to Indy raceway. Then, they went to Travis' place for an after-party of sorts it seems. It looks as if this all happened that same weekend.

It’s great to see other people in the world, especially in the states appreciating our Australian cars, especially holden’s. I’ve got a 2007 caprice and have always had holdens, it’s just a shame GM pulled the plug on the Holden motor industry here in Australia, now they are made overseas in Taiwan, china or somewhere. I think I’ll stick to the Australian built cars for as long as possible.

The Ute's are slowly going up but it's always up and down in price. I am Australian and honestly the v6 engine Holden's suck. My 2002 VX commie died at 276,653kms and was service on time and well looked after. Also in Australia Holden's get stolen all the time.
30-50k would deffo be the sweet spot for it, they didn't go for that much back in Australia back in the day

The real name is GM-Holden and was a subsidiary of General motors CO in Australia. I believe they closed their doors in 2020. Awesome collection. Great history originally where Saddlery, then moved to the auto industry on 1908 or so, then where renamed General Motors-Holden's Ltd in the 1930's.
I'm going to go ahead and say on behalf of all my fellow Australians, Travis, you are hereby recognised as an honorary Aussie for your love of the Holden product. We may have lost the brand, but we'll never lose our love for the vehicles it produced

Hello from Australia. I had to check I was watching the right RUclips channel seeing so many cars from Australia. Good to see some appreciation for our humble country.
Travis is one of the coolest and most laid-back car guys all around. Does Travis have his own channel yet? Even if it's just a hangout channel for when all the you tubers swing by. There are so many famous RUclips faces in the video. It felt like some secret celebrity club. Rabbit just casually smoking on the porch, Edd telling you that if you buy from Travis, you have to up your prices and several other cool cats just lounging around.
I love that I naturally found all these RUclipsrs one at a time and now they pop up in each others videos. Jared’s videos are great I found him from his harbor freight review. And still one of my fav guys.

Heck yes, the electric S10 is awesome, I actually just recently sold a Ford Ranger '93 that was fully electric converted back in '94 by the original owner. Still maintained the factory 5 spd transmission & only had 2300 original miles on it. Had like 20 full size golf cart batteries. Pretty dang cool for 1994 tech.

Travis is such a genuine and down to earth guy. Met him for the first time last year at his Holden event "Outback in the Midwest." You should definitely bring the Caprice this year! I also met Rabbit there last year he's so much fun to talk to also! Both great guys!

👍 from Sydney, Oz. Travis has done more for our Holdens in the States than anybody. I only owned one Holden in my life back in late 70s but it was a beauty, a 1964 EH station wagon in blue with white roof with a 161 cubic inch straight six and three on the tree (not the original engine, EH had choice of 149 and 179, the 161 was from 1967 HR which had choice of 161 and 186). I got my EH for AU$450 and sold it couple of years later for AU$550, these days clean ones go for AU$60k-70k.
This is my favorite thing to see, all the youtubers I watch getting together and having fun

Holden could have survived well in the u.s if they were actually sold as Holdens and had all the same trim and model options as australia, I dont think any one would have called a vf gtsr a malibu
