absolutely, it allows me to experience quirky interesting games that I never knew existed, which is really refreshing! So much stuff stayed in Japan, just when you think you have seen it all, you discover a unique and random game 🤣 Cheers for watching !
That snowman game he looks familiar? Floating runner i remember Eddie getting. I've got both Saint Seya games on PAL...........no i dont have a clue about them lol Nice import haul that Nick
Cheers Tooty, that character is on the cover on a couple of Rave Master games, maybe the Gamecube or GBA versions but not sure if they got PAL releases. Yeah Eddie mentioned he wasnt too impressed with it 😂
It’s a shame Garouden Breakblow doesn’t play better as it looks beautiful. Groove Island looks right up my street. So cool you get Kid S’s boxes; absolutely love his channel and the insights into Japan. Have a goodun 👍😊🕹️
Some interesting titles there. Most I've never heard of before. I have that Saint Saiya game. There are two on ps2. I can't say I've spent much time with either but I recall one of them being much better than the other. I just don't remember which of the two it was off the top.
Apart from Puzzle Bobble they were all new to me too ! Saint Saiya does look descent and Dimps do make some fantastic fighters, I reckon I need to give it more time and use the phone translate app to get further, hopefully language become less of an issue later on.
Man, I'll have to step up my game on the next box. Garouden is an odd game, your instinct is to button mash but you're better off targeting specific body parts on the other character, for example repeatedly attacking the legs, eventually stunning them with every hit to that area and leaving them open for a KO blow. The follow up game made it more obvious by including a body damage gage for each character.
No worries Jim, just stick a Magical Chase and Sapphire in the next one 🤣🤣🤣 Dude, you always pick cool stuff I never knew existed and thats a big part of the enjoyment, getting to experience new types of games, not all of them will be my cup of tea, but I got to experience them 😎👍 Cool I will try that, that kind of makes sense with the build and fighting style of the characters, Garouden visually is stunning so I can imagine the sequel looks amazing and even more brutal. Thanks dude, appreciate you checking out the vid.
@@red7even52 when I reviewed it years ago I said it helps to think of it as more of a hybrid between a 3D fighter and a wrestling game. The grapples, body targeting, and ground attacks are key.
The Kid never disappoints does he. Never seen that Snowman game, it didn’t look to bad to be fair. I do enjoy the Puzzle Bobble games, though once you’ve played one you’ve played them all I guess. Though like you say every loves it. It’s a shame about those PS2 fighters as they looked pretty good. Shame one had a language barrier and the other was brutally hard :(. A bit of a mixed bag all in all. But always an education :).
He always finds games that I have never heard off, yeah the Snowman game is not bad at all, the kids love it! Yeah I think you can count the differences between the 4-5 Puzzle bobble games in one hand ! still nice to have anything Saturn 🤣 Those fighters do look stunning, they need a bit more time (which I wish I had 🤣) before a final fair judgement ! Cheers Dylan
I played floating runner earlier in the year and really didn't like it. And I gave it a good chance Groove adventure is a great game. It was a nice suprise when I got that
Yeah I wasnt a big fan of floating runner, mind you I am not a big fan 3D PS1 games in general, but I could imagine that if you had this back in the day you might have nostalgia for it ! agreed Groove adventure is a fun game, probably because they stuck to 2D 😂
Some very unusual Japanese delicacies in the box, couple there I've never owned or heard of, I remember having the ps2 jojo game and thought it wasn't even an action title, I never even made it past the cutscenes lol the chap who bought it said it was a good fighter and I remember laughing at the fact I thought it was some sort of graphical novel type thing, I never rebought it though, I like the vs fighter type jojo games but don't play the wandering beat em up type games in the series anymore. Rooms looking smart as ever 👍👍
Cheers Craig, those Capcom Jojo fighters are fantastic, I wasnt too impressed with the playability of this one, but maybe I need to get further into it to appreciate it ! Enjoy the rest of your weekend mate !
That was interesting Nick, do you get these boxes by being a Patreon to Kid Shoryuken? I can imagine be Floating Runner may have been decent at the time, quite like the look of Tomarunner. Sure Eddie offered me that Konami platformer, looks quite good I struggle to get on with JoJo games, shame about the brutal brawler, that could have been great Great stuff mate👍✌️
Yes mate, it's part of his Patreon benefits, he has multiple tiers. I think you are right about Floating Runner, early 3D platformers generally dont aged well! If you like foot runners then Tomarunner is fun, especially in Vs mode. I will be giving Garouden breakblow another go after the tips I got from KS. Cheers James !
Cheers Eddie, JoJo looks gorgeous, but I really couldn't get into gameplay, possibly its a game you need to spend more time on to appreciate! If you are a big fan of the Manga/Anime then a reckon you would love it, otherwise I couldn't really recommend it.
Everyone loves puzzle bobble 🥰.
I love how you very rarely show anything I've ever heard of.
Great pick ups as always.
Cheers David, I had never heard of most of this stuff either 🤣
Great to see you back and I will be looking forward to see what you got from Eddie !
That's a great mix of stuff.....some bonkers and some pretty decent looking👌
Cheers Marcus, the Japanese game developers are a master of bonkers, thats whats great about import games !
Another great Jim Box pickups video!
Thanks Sweets !
That is a pretty cool mystery box. It is a lot of fun to experience games that never left Japan

hahaha thanks mate, I have enough trouble pronouncing english game titles, never mind Japanese 🤣🤣 Puzzle bobble is a classic !

Its a real shame mate, I had high hopes when that intro played 😂, enjoy the rest of your weekend Ed and have a cracking xmas!
