Apologies I must of missed this when it went live :(. Man what an awesome bit of kit and it was cool of Alex to hook you up with one of his PCB’s. Irem were a great developer for sure. Yes I don’t have the hardware, but I’m happy that my MiSTer can allow me to enjoy these games. One that I loved and remember playing in a arcade in Liverpool when I was a kid is Hammering Harry. It’s also a game I own on the PSP. I hope all is food with you Nick.
No worries Dylan, TBH I havent been on YT much so well behind too, Irem were top of their game back then, I reckon they had some of the best looking games and most talented artist during the late 80's until Capcom upper their game ! Tooty also mentioned he play Hammering harry in the arcade, didnt expect that one to be readily available on our shores ! yeah the PSP version is great, yet to try the SFC one. Take it easy mate !
Cheers Tooty, Yeah Hammerin Harry is a lot of fun, I think I only saw R-type and R-type 2 in my local arcade from these games, I would of loved Dragon Breed and Ninja Spirit, I grew up fairly close to Alton towers and use to go loads (good old days when u parked on the grass) they must of had some of these great arcades, but I probably forgot 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Definitely check out Hammerin Harry, I think there is a switch collection coming out, I believe the SFC version is good too! X multiply is stunning, so atmospheric ! if I am not mistaken you have the Saturn version, which is a cracking port ! Take it easy dude and enjoy the weekend (hopefully you guys got a long weekend due to that Corrie thing !)
What an amazing machine! Awesome you managed to get it all together. I’ll confess that aside from the obvious rtype I’ve only played a couple of the others. It’s pure emulation but I tried battle chopper via the evercade; and I thought mr heli was a challenge 😮. Dragon Breed likes blooming epic. Cool mechanics with using the dragons body to wreak havoc 😄. Have a fun one mate

Great piece of kit Nick, sounds really cool, you've loads of options for arcade gaming in your setup, top stuff. Was thinking I'd never heard of battle chopper until the game came on lol always quite enjoyed mr Heli, nice solid game. Dragon breed, awesome, one of my faves bitd on the amiga, would have only been a copy, I'm pretty sure Andy has it at arcade club. Armed police gallop, awesome, never played it too but I've heard it mentioned, could have been crtcade, but whoever it was seemed to rate it, I need to get onto some of this stuff. Really cool to have the two r types on there, I was playing the second a few months ago, really want to see more of that game as its one I've never played much historically, only the first game. X multiply is another favourite of mine but I've only over played the console versions, love the look and feel of it, irem did that organic theme so well. Nice one Nick. Another educational vid for people like me with no real arcade hardware experience- there are five IREM volumes coming to the ps4 and switch - strictly limited are doing various sets including a slip sleeve version that holds all five games for about 170 euros but given their history it will take about 3-5 years to release that last fifth volume. I’m holding out for a none strictly limited release which tends to happen on many of their releases such as the cotton games and ray series of games. I’m not waiting years for SL to pull their finger out - they could go bust and we lost our money.
