-This works (for all those who are curious, since I was too)
-I tried this yesterday after slowly getting the phone dissembled, coz I have nooo experience; so I had to take my time. After 1 hour of dissembling and assembling, I tested the phone. It’s been roughly 19hours and my phone hasn’t given me ANY PROBLEM. Except that it has a thin gap on the side coz of the tape. I will keep you updated on the progress.
-A BIG SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU to you admin (Rody). You literally saved my phone!!!! For that, you’ve earned an additional subscriber! All the love from South Africa 👍
Can u use like a regular tape or do u have to use a specific tape
just tried this on a customer's phone. it worked 100%. I used the padding stickers from old lcd connectors for iphones. First I used just one, when i noticed it may not have been thick enough, i used one more strip and laid over the first one looking like a + sign. The middle point of this + patch was right on top of the touch ic. This time it worked, and hasnt stopped since. super DIY fix.
Many Thanks Tody!
I don’t “slightly bend” my phone to fix it... I slap it on the table.
Sophia Rose me toooo
I do the same
same
SAME! My anger issues can't hold it🙂
I smack it on the table but am getting tired of doing it all the time. I wish I could fix it looks simple but so many screws to take out and I don’t think I have the right size screw driver to take them out and then the nightmare of putting it back together.
Thank you SO MUCH! Seriously didn‘t think I would be able to fix this myself this easily, especially now where a microsoldering repair like this costs more than the phone is even worth at this point.
It works, I just tried it and it works. Its simple and effective. For those of you bitching about it, take your ass to the Apple store and pay apple $150 to get it fixed!
As of June 2017 this worked for me. It's was a tricky putting it back together so just be careful with the Tape.
You don't want to put all you phone back together only to realise the phone cover doesn't shut properly or that some screws don't fit.
This does work. So take your time, be organised, follow the instructions in detail and above all be patient.
just finished this procedure, and i can say that it worked but i can see that it is coming back. How thick should the tape be?
Thanks Rody for solving my flikkering problem. I took it to the Apple store last month and they told me I have to pay $340 for replacement since they "can not" fix it. Saw your video 2 weeks ago, but I wasn't sure if i should do it coz I had never disassembled an iPhone before. I gave it a try and it Works Excellent!!!! Been 1 1/2 Weeks there has been no sign of flikkering marks or irresponsive touch screen!!!
+Themak7492 thank you so very much for sharing!!! That's awesome to hear!! Way to go!
Did it about a month ago still works good. (Make sure you cover BOTH ic chips with the electrical tape!)
Do we cover it with the sticky part or the dry part,? Sorry im an air head😂
Celleste Martinez sticky it will help be a tight bond I did it and it worked from November till yesterday
I just spent the last 2 hours taking apart my wife's iPhone 6 Plus and attempting this fix. At first, I took a piece of electrical tape, doubled it over, and it applied it to the touch IC chips and put the phone back together. No success. I almost replied here saying it didn't work, but I decided to pull the logic board back out and add more tape. I got it out, and put 3 more layers of doubled up tape. Enough so that I could see a bump on the outer tape layer like I can see in your video. I put it all back together, said a little prayer to my favorite deity, and turned it on. Success! I haven't seen a hiccup since. Of course, it's only been 30 minutes. But I'm pretty confident this is going to get me by long enough to trade it in for credit on my iPhone 7. Thanks so much!
+chris mueller thanks for sharing! Yeah you need more tape than you think. And the first time I did this to my phone I had the same problem by not adding enough. Thanks for watching the video! Hope you get that iPhone 7 and please share this video with anyone that may need to know about this!
Thanks for making this video! Saved me $150. Bit confused on how to put it back together but I got it!
I just tried this and it worked. So far the phone is behaving a lot better than it was prior to this fix! No touch disease glitch so far. Thank you for this great step by step video. It was my first time taking an iPhone apart but worked like a charm. Hopefully this issue remains fixed.
2 hour fix for a semi-novice..worked perfectly!
Just repaired my 6plus thank you for your video. The only thing I wished for is that you included a video with putting everything back together again. That would have save everyone heaps of time. Thank you again
This fixed it completely for me. 2 days so far with no issues. Thank you Rody!
+Kurtis Brischke thanks for sharing! Thank for watching and contributing to the channel 👍🏼📱
Hi Rody, after 2 days it started back again. Having fixed it I now know where the chip is so if I squeeze that part of the screen while unlocking the phone I can get it to work (only while applying pressure). The first go-round I used tape 3x thick, would 5x or 6x be overdoing it for second fix?
5x would be about right 3x is too little. Bulge 3:03 Let me know how that works!
So far so good, started working again yesterday after the adjustment.
+Kurtis Brischke thank you for sharing!!
never took a phone apart before was told my local cell repair phone was not fixable. Followed tutorial hour later full working function. Good job for getting this information out! keep up the awesome work!!!!
I had 2 6 plus and traded one in with Apple for $250 bc of this disease to get 6s, then my wife 6plus start getting diseases so I found this AWESOME video and the ifixit tutorial you cannot go wrong! Anyway the first time I fold the tape just once, it did not fix the problem at all then I open it back up and folded it twice and thought it was fixed but then my wife complain about the disease the next day. So today I folded it about 5 times and it's been over 5 hours and I haven't seen the white bar! I think the disease is gone. Great video!
+Thai Cao thank you so much for sharing your progress and solutions! Thanks for watching!! I'm so glad it helped!
Rody Davis so every time I take the phone apart and do thicker tape it work 100% for a day then disease came back, and when it comes back it take more twisting strength to get rid of the white bar. Sorry this is a great concept and great video but I can't say that this technique is working. I will take this phone apart one more time adding more tape, this is probably the last surgery perform on my 6 plus because the screws are starting to strip /-;
+Thai Cao yes please be careful! Please look in the comments for other people who have worked through similar solutions. It definitely works. Thanks for watching!
I figured it out! So first bunch of times I did it, I obviously did not fold the tape thick enough. That's why it work for a few days then back to normal the reason is because that area gets really hot and the tape gets squish n thinned out. It has been over 2 weeks and still good and the phone been dropped many times (my 8 year old son even commented that before even a slight drop it stop working). So after I put the phone back the screen budge up a bit on the side with the tape but after a day of use its back to normal. Rody you are the man with this technique. Thank you very much!
I want to thank you, I had the same problem and saw this post for fixing it after looking at others, took phone apart with no trouble following your steps, and had o actually take it apart twice, the first time I didn't put enough tape on the IC chips, but had no problems with it since wonderful fix without spending money! Thank You!
+Gregory Caudill thank you so much for sharing!! And thanks for watching Gregory!
I carefully completed this procedure for a friend and for a couple hours the phone worked great. Then I got the touch issue back again, and after the usual pressing on the screen, the screen completely died. I am not a certified tech, but I would not recommend this procedure.
I followed this fix more than a year ago and if worked for 17months. The problem is back. I am also back to follow the tutorial on how to open the phone and have the tape replaced because I am sure it now flattened.
Why the hell are we having to find a fix ourselves?? I paid over $700 for this phone and only get a couple of yrs out of it? I have tv, laptops and other electronics still going strong after over 5 yrs since purchase. You need to step up Apple! Samsung is right at your heels..
Think Samsung are much better. Love Android.
has been working for me for 5 days. i'll comment back if it stops working, but i see no signs of problems right now. thanks for the video
All right, I did this and it worked for a week or so.
Then I accidently dropped my phone from maby a meter up and it all started again.
I could bend and twist it with some result which lasted for a few more days.. Then today.. the touch stopped working fully.
Since I have no money to purchase a new phone I started thinking what I could do at my house at 11PM.
There was no chance in me trying to get my hands on my old jobs RBA machine so I got myself some tinfoil, heatgun (one of the cheapest on the market) and some flux.
Took me around 2 hours and 2 reflow sessions of the two IC's but the touch is now working. Unfortunately the Wifi antenna got damaged during the teardown process but that is a price I can pay. Hopefully this reflow will last a few more months.
+Gurkturk wow!!! Man that's awesome!! Props to you! I have been really hoping to learn how to reflow and replace chips. I'm sorry that happened when you dropped your phone, but thank you so much for sharing!
My phone was not working at all so I had nothing to lose. Two weeks and counting since I watched this video and followed the instructions and the phone has been working perfectly. I had a little flickering after the first fix, but added more tape and the phone has been fine ever since.
+Colin Stermer thank you so much for sharing! And thanks again for watching the video! Please share with anyone this can help, and subscribe for updates!
To anybody that has their screen tap without touching it which is extremely annoying if you open the phone sometimes there will be clearance issues in my case my battery cable was contacting my digitizer causing the screen to freak out try this out make sure no cables stick up and touch the digitizer
how can we solve it
Confirming this works. I did this to my phone a week ago and haven't experienced any issues since. Appreciate the help ! I saved $300+ which is what the Apple Store was charging to replace it.
+Tony Roque thank you for letting me know! Please share with any one that has or will have this issue!
I had touch IC disease - instead of removing the logic board which is a royal pain - I used a short-cut - I removed the battery & then loosened the top few screws that secure the logic board - then I stuck 2 thin pieces of card-board under the upper part of the logic board where the touch ICs are located- then I thighened the screws - installed a new battery since I had bent the old one a little bit - it worked perfect - I have used the iphone for 3 days & NOT once has the slightest touch failed.
cardboard? going to catch fire eventually
lol you can't be serious about it catching fire
TheModdersWorld Mike lol jus trollin...yo you mod..message me
***** about?
TheModdersWorld Mike modding
Dude!!! This is insane! Could recover lost data from a old 6 Plus from my died mother... i am so happy !! Would give you 1000+ Thumps if i could!
I went to the Apple Store today and asked about the Touch Disease, and they said it was caused by "flex cable" being bent. I said what about the fact it's the Touch IC failure and they said it is because they phone bends. They said they replace the phone with one that has never been bent at the price of a display replacement (Meaning it will have the issue again). Its sad that they are not even fixing the issue correctly.
Rody Davis and this is why i dont like iphones
Rody Davis k
Question even after warrantee is over ..
And did the phone keep working or did it just stop now.
Thank you really like the video
This fucking company ... I got a replacement (after paying $150) and the replacement now has the same issue. Enough about this rotten fruit.
Andrew Xuan This happened to me as well. They act like their phones aren't expensive enough
And then these issues like really!
I just ordered a tool kit from amazon and did this fix for my 6+. Touch disease is gone! I appreciate the video.
+Jeremy Bowden thanks for sharing! Please share and spread the news!
This is great! I was skeptical but it works! Thanks Rody!
Thank you SO much for this video!! I've been been dealing with this Touch ID dieseas for almost a week now. Reading tons watching videos and spending HOURS on the phone with Apple trying to get them to replace my phone. I gave up!! Then I got a good set of screw drivers, which is key, and spent about an hour with your video taking apart my phone. It's been 2 hours and my phone is working perfect!!! I don't want to jinx myself but this is the first ounce of hope I've had all week with this stupid phone! And I have 10 more months until I can upgrade or trade in so all I need is a 10 month fix!! lol Apple wanted to charge me $350 for a total replacement! Hell no!! If this give me an extra week, month or 10 months it's worth the try to fix it on my own! Thank you so so much!!
+Samantha Spinelli thank you so much for sharing Samantha!!
SO did you the phone hold up for those 10 months?
This worked beautifully. Saved me a few hundred dollars and days of waiting for a new device. Thanks for the post!
hi guys , It has worked for me when i put my iPhone 6 plus in the freezer for 5 minutes ,, many thanks Rody for the direction ...
its a good idea for people who don]t have AC
it worked only for few minutes and i belive its not good idea to do that it may spoil other ICs in the iPhone
I've got the touch disease and have had to use a samsung phone for almost a year after only having my 6+ for two months currently i've read that touch disease is a software thing so im updating the phone now but if not i'll try your way asap. Thanks for the great video!
Haxor9001 Hi i have the same issue with my phone. Did you try to repair it? Need suggestion though. Thanks!
I have tried this method and it's working for more than a week, hope disease never come back
My screen keeps touching random things when I’m not touching it
Same IDK how to fix
A D O N Y X III ghost 👻
My phone auto touches and has unresponsive screen
Somebody fix it for me
...this actually seems to have fixed the issue! I'm still in shock lol. Very good stuff bro thanks!!!
Did u use the tape and if so can I use like a regular tape or does it have to be a specific kind of tape
@@mikeperez2003 I used electrical tape like he described in the video. I'm still amazed it was that simple of a fix. Didnt cost anything but a few minutes. Phones still working 100%.
Hay I'm trying to fix an iPhone 6 for the first time, do you have a vidio of the disassembly that a bit slower? Cheers
Yes I have touch disease... got a temporary fix from a technician, but now we will try this!! Thx so much!! Klare
This works 100% thank you!!!!!!!
+Francisco Soto thanks for sharing!!
Rody Davis bvfhh
Francisco Soto its still working?
wooooow XD true though
Excellent! I just fixed my daughter iPhone, a $160 bucks saving in Mexico City. Thank you very much! Have a nice one!
I have touch disease and i absolutely hate it!!
Ronald Johnson same bro i took it to this guy and he fixed those gray line things but the screen still frezes n the touch screen duznt work
FriedRice apple is a fu**ing rip offf....im soo pissed...my brand new iphone 6 is fucking useless the touch is fucked upp
Same
ashley simson yeah ikr and my mum is blaming on me :(
QzickX same Smh
this repair was golden! I used some plastic sheet divider, I cut to size and double layered, placed on the chips carefully. I also placed a piece between the screen connectors and the plate covering them. have not looked back since, for now! lol THis is only a temp fix, could last, could not.
my iphone 6 keeps touching itself and and sometimes the display doesn't work can you please help
feaaar _777 It keeps touching itself???
Kool_Your_Aid_Man LOL
LMAO I understand exactly what he means, but that wording lol
Kool_Your_Aid_Man lol ikr
Bruh me to and it obly works when it wants to 💀
I just did this in 2020 on a 20$ eBay iPhone 6 Plus and it worked like a charm!
My phone doesn't have a grey bar at the top but sometimes my keyboard and screen suddenly stops working and I have to switch off and on my phone to fix it
ᴅᴀɴɪᴇʟ ᴋɪʀ when the phone stops responding try calling it with another phone if it displays the call but touch screen is not responding then its a Touch IC issue.
I'd try restoring/updating the phone first though then proceed from there.
I know this is kind of an old video but it still works!! You might not even see this but I just wanted to say thanks, you really helped me out of spending a good amount of money.. I didn't know what I was gonna do and none of these other videos were working. I wish there was a way that I could make sure that you'd get this message but this is the least I can do, thanks again and I hope your doing well
would you be able to fix mine? do you do repairs as a business? i am not this tech savvy to do it myself and can't find a fix in los angeles.
Check out iPad Rehab!
I've been suffering from the touch disease for months and got really frustrated, I thought my only options were to shell out $150 to have it fixed or buy a new Android phone. I followed your video and it works! I got lost a little bit in the end when putting the phone back together and somehow ended up with four screws I don't know where to put them back to, but at least the touch disease went away!
if you just replace the logic board will it work?
Yea
Dude, this fixed my iphone 6 plus, i did it myself and i didnt even have to go to the other videos, this is exactly what was wrong withit, thanks
electrical tape
thanks
It work bro!!! im just try this for my iphone 6 plus..it come back to touch..what i learn with this hint that ic is not touch to board correctly..thank you man..
Hi man. I have an iPhone 6 128gb and the touch is just not working. I usually was restarting it and it would have worked for around 10-15 mins. And after a while i saw that if I bend it a little it would work for a while but after some time it stoped working with that too. I went to 2 shops and they both told that I need to buy a new screen. Please tell me that this fix work for iPhone 6 too , i really don't have the money for a new screen. Thanks and have a nice day !
Hi Rollz,
I wouldn't recommend getting the screen, anyway (If you somehow found that money in first place). My 6 plus unfortunately started having these issues about 1 or 2 weeks before I dropped it on its side to shatter the screen a bit, of which I went to go get it replaced. As the video describes, the issue goes far deeper than just a screen swap. Both shops that you're referring to are only just trying to snatch some money from you.
If you do find that kind of money, just use it to send it to Apple and they'll take care of it, I'm sure.
This worked for me thanks man the only other thing i needed to do was add an old micro sim card under the metal housing that covers the lcd screen for added pressure. I really appreciate it save me alot of money!
Don't use the iFixit Pro moniker to tell people this kind of BS! The only robust solution for touch disease is desoldering the touch ics, cleaning the pads, and resoldering new chips along with a soldered on futureproof shield. All this taping/shimming nonsense just encourages DIY folks to break their screens. :( :( :(
We fix touch disease all day every day and there is nothing worse than doing an hour of board repair only to find out that their native screen is laggy for touch from twisting and bending or that they've bent their board with shims so that they lose cell service from baseband CPU cold joints from board flexion. Ugh!
+iPad Rehab I have been referring lots of people to you in the comments. This is for people that are not ready to replace the chips. This does work and does get more life out of the phone before you have to pay for the micro soldering. There are lots of people that are not comfortable taking apart their phone and I have sent them to your website multiple times.. this is not a scam or fake repair, this does work. It's just not the cleanest solution. Before I did this repair I was going to send my phone to you but I looked for other solutions that cost less. I bought the phone 2 weeks before this problem started happening and I wasn't ready to pay more at the time. I am fully aware of what you do over there and have a lot of respect for micro soldering. That's why I commented on your insta post about it and referred you so many times.
Straight crap. I hate seeing stuff like this.
@iPad Rehab: In Lahore, Pakistan we do not have a proper shop or person to do Touch IC repair.
the one we have only apply heat and reflow the IC so it works for a while and then it stops working.
So we have to do something like this.
Great video.
+Waqar Ahmed thank you so much!
It most definitely works. Tried this and got it the first time. No doubt the best way is to send it to a proper tech and let them do it. But as Mr Waqar said (im also from LHR Pakistan) i also gave my device to a tech and after two days he charged me about 100$ and told they changed the ic. Guess what problem returned after 3 days. Hats off for making this video.
Just brought my phone in and showed the technician this video. Hopefully this will work. I'll comment my results when I get the phone today
my phone doesn't power on anymore????
shahrukh ali you bricked it
u did something wrong lmao rip to your phone though
DIY People’s nightmare Lmao , rest in peace..
I had that too, until i noticed i did not plug in the battery conmector, maybe yours is not connected?
I had the same, opened it again and redid the connections and it started up
I just realized I have the touch disease... I'm going to try this!!! Thank you so much!!! Thank you for such detailed video on how to fix our phones!☺
I wanted to let everyone know that I am working on an update to this video that will address common issues, and be more detailed how to fix the issue. Thank you guys for watching and commenting. Please share with anyone this may help!
Awesome, Rody! Thank you. When do you think could you release it? Appreciate your effort, seriously. -Cheers
If all goes well later this week, if not Monday depending on editing. I will try to put priority to it though. There have been a lot of people asking for it, and thank you Marc!
I'm glad I came across your Iphone 6 touch ic fix tutorial video. My Iphone 6 have been suffering from this issue for months now and its really really bad,But thankfully I can still use my phone intermittently.Although mines have no flickering gray bar at the top. And no solution or temporary fix have worked for me e.g (bending the phone or pressing hard)And I don't want to replace my touch ic,imagining the stress that It'll cause to the phone, I'm just so dissapointed because I've been so very careful with it since the day i bought it. I just wanna hear your input about if It's ok if I'll just put a thick double sided tape on the outside front of the logic board (I've learned that the touch ic chips are on the backisde)beacuse I'm not that of a technician, all I can try is to open the display.Do you think it would still work to push the touch ic on the backside even if I put the tape on the front side of the logic board??Hope I explained myself clear..Hope to hear from you asap..Great video. Thanks!!!
+Sean Buenavista thanks for watching!! And that would actually make it worse because it will put pressure in the wrong direction. I would say find someone who can do it, and have them do this.
One more thing, is the black square on the front side of the logic board which I believe covers the a8 processor a metal shield or a plastic sticky tape like the one the backside???thank you :)
So far this fix has been working for me after a day of use. The only problem I've had is some discoloration on the screen caused by the logic board pushing against the back of the LCD. This could just be because my screen has been replaced and is not OEM. Thanks!
+Alex Brown awesome! Thanks for sharing! And that's definitely the issue. Thanks for watching!
works
i don't make comments
Tedrick Dotson, you just did.
Holy crap it worked! I honestly didn’t have much hope, but I didn’t have anything to lose, so I tried it anyways. I went ahead and did it and surprisingly it worked! Thank you so much, man!
This guy has the nastiest fingertips i've ever seen
DJ Kevgeez 😂😂😂😂😂, I was thinking the same thing
They just look like little toes
thats not nice. true though, but not nice
I’m those people who actually focus on the desoldering of the phone in the background and trying to fix my phone, wouldn’t even care or notice his finger at all.
DJ Kevgeez lol worrying about a nigga fingers
So, I had the grey bars at the top of the screen with intermittent and increasingly more frequent loss touch response, which seem to be the classic symptoms of touch disease. I implemented this approach a few hours ago and so far my phone seems back to normal. I will check back in a few weeks to update if anything changes, but in the meantime thank you for putting this out there as a work around!
+sterbyn I'm so glad!! Thanks for trying! I have had it in my phone for over two weeks without it coming back. If it does come back make sure the tape is thick enough but wide enough to put even pressure across the whole chip! Please let me know if it stays fixed
The touch decease came back after few days :-(
TeeJay same here
Have you tried this yet , ruclips.net/video/Bk76ED871SY/видео.html ?
Hi I have the same issue right now did you went toa repair shop to repair it?
Just took mine apart and actually instead of taking that piece all the way out, I just picked up on it and slid my piece of tape under it and the back of my phone. So didn't place it under that soft flap that you lifted up first. It fixed my problem for now. I think I used too thick of a piece though bc my upper portion of front screen won't snap back into place but everywhere else did so I'm fine with it lol. I just use this plus as a "tablet" anyway. Thanks for the info!!
Let me know if you need help and what you want the next video to be about!
When i try adding a fingerprint for touch id on 5s, it says failed try again later
+Tuvano Agario this is only for the iPhone 6 or 6 plus. But that issue you are describing is what happens when the Touch ID cable gets messed up or the sensor gets replaced
Okay thanks
Won't the tape melt? It does get hot i'm sure. Please reply!!!!!
+LAMBY #Skillz that's why you need to use electrical tape. It will no melt, the touch IC chips do not get as how as the Processor and other chips.
Huh, was fully expecting to break my phone. Actually works! Thanks man saved me money
im a blondie but do I wrap electrical tape sticky side out or in?
+Beth Wingster in! Thanks for watching!
Thank you I have tried every thing. This works. Its been one day now no issues. I folded the electric tape 5 folds.
ive done everything and it didnt worked for me; maybe the thickness of the tape (bulge) wasnt to big enough tho it did make some pressure when putting it all back together...
i guess ill move on to the second stage of my anger and destroy this madafaka iphone 6 plus and record it and send to apple! (ill try to get as much people or tv-newspaper media to get more audience)...
anyways thanks for the video and help!
can you let us know when you will post the video.
+Maxim Teleguz I absolutely will. Still editing, making sure I'm not missing anything. Got all the shots I need though.
***** It was a sarcastic remark, lol look at the original comment i replied to.
Rody Davis bb
First found video that says just to clean up contacts between display and logic board, it work for me a couple of days, and than again go flickering. Your method work for me (at least 20 minutes), hope it will working.
Great video, thanks a lot.
+jugazmi thank you for watching! If it comes back soon then you need to add more tape. Thanks for sharing and let me know if anything changes!
There's an Apple forum regarding this issue discussions.apple.com/thread/7028290?start=1080&tstart=0
but the moderators won't let your video link be posted regardless of results or qualifications. Definitely going to spread it around as much as possible.
+Anthony Cirillo Please do!! Thank you so much! Apple is taking down threads on their forums because they don't want to take responsibility for the engineering defect.
I'm going to perform this operation today. I will post immediate results as well as 1 week results.
+Anthony Cirillo Thank you please do!
Procedure complete. Will post results with enough time.
+Anthony Cirillo awesome! Thanks for sharing
God thanks, just running up the phone for about 4 hours now, and no signal of the problem at all, really thanks i'm amazed how that really worked for me lol
Update Video is here! ruclips.net/video/yUUfTzagkpo/видео.html
Rody Davis my phone has the same problem but I don't want to mess up my phone doing something I don't know what to do
Rody Davis I have some problem on my phone Samsung it keeps tapping by it self
HackerMods HackMod fuk u Samsung user it is apple all the way
+HackerMods HackMod wow very descriptive it really allows others to help you with your problem.
Rody Davis Pls I have iPhone 6s ...no display but you can feel that the phone is on or if u forced turn it off and on back again u can see the apple logo under pure white led light and it won't display. I have since change the screen and it works for a day and now gone again. Is there a way to fix this and how. And by the way thx for you video on the touch disease ..works great.
I did this and it’s working so far. So weird how that works
I can't wait to try it. I've replaced my digitizer twice and my phone definitely has the touch disease that I just learned. I love work-arounds as long as they actually work. There are a lot of pissed off techs. There are enough businesses to go around. geez... thanks for the video
for that issue, i'm right now suffering with iPhone 6. My phone has never been torn down but it is having troubles in right top corner with unresponsive and sometime it works so well. I noticed that this problem has been much improved on 10.1 beta while with other older iOS version the trouble is severe.
I notice all guys are responding. I was hoping this was a video with a fix for the common people who don’t know anything about the insides of phones.
Followed your video to fix it with the electrical tape and my iPhone works like a charm again. A+ my friend. Thank you for the help. You saved me 160 Euro 😉
I’m really surprised this actually worked. Thank you!
Make sure you put enough tape. Touch Disease came back and I had to re-do it to make the tape thicker. It’s been 3 weeks since I re-did it and its working good so far. 👍🏼
iPhone 6 Plus
It's been over three weeks since I did this and haven't had a problem since. Thanks Rody!!!
I got this DISEASE!!!! Lemme try this and see if it works, thanks!
I was desperate to find a fix to "touch disease"...I followed your video step by step. After completing the steps touch disease went away. I lost my fingerprint recognition and my wifi strength seems to be a bit weaker. However, these are small concessions to having to get a new phone at this time. Thanks for the video!!
This fix totally works, had an issue with it not reading the SIM card ( I'm guess because the tape on the chips was"bulging" the board so the SIM card wasn't making a good contact, but I just put a couple thicknesses of tape on top of the SIM card reader to push it back and it's working now.
After about 10 minutes the an alert popped up saying "ME had a temporary error" I hit accept and haven't had any other issues
Phones been working for a good hour now
This worked for me. I have purchased the chips on aliexpress for 9USD and it will keep me running until then. Thanks for sharing.
Applied this fix to a couple of phones and it works perfectly
FOUND AN EASIER FIX! I took mine apart (just two screws on the bottom of phone only) I’ve replaced screens a few times before, and I I did was fold some paper over end a few times and put it on the metal plate above where all the screen connectors are, and it fixed it. The pressure when you snap the front screen back in place makes the connection stronger!
I for this idea from an article I read that said if you put a penny in a hard case behind the rear camera the pressure will fix it… I don’t have a hard case, so what I did still worked!!!
I had it and I saw someone put two SIM cards to press it down but they didn’t disassemble their phone like you did. I put the SIM card in but I’m going to do this when I have more time.
Just last night, my iPhone 6 screen suddenly become unresponsive. No luck with the hard reset. I tried it atleast 20x and still no luck. Early this morning, I tried to drop it from about 2 feet height, the touch screen suddenly worked; but only for a couple of seconds. Then I tried applying pressure on both side of the phone but doesn''t last because the grip should be real tight. Now I tumbled on your video, I know now where to exactly put the pressure just at the left side of the apple logo where the sensor is located. I'm still at work so I think I'll try this at home during the weekends. For now, will continue soft pressure at the back of my phone with my point finger atleast as a workaround.
Thanks for this! Now everything makes sense.
Mike Meek same 😀
just finished doing the above very easy to do following the video & best thing is it worked for me :)
will give it a week or so & see how it goes but thank you
hey puhg, how is your phone holding up? any problems yet
Hi Simon
no problems so far
Hi, I have the iPhone 6 Plus , it's not bent, all the buttons works perfectly fine, but the screen is COMPLETELY unresponsive. Can you please help?
Mine is like that too Apple sucks
I have touch disease over the ENTIRE SCREEN I have an iPhone 6 I have a friend who may be able to fix this based on this video, thank you so much I just got touch disease a few minutes ago when I was jumpscared by my roommate, causing me to drop my phone on tile flooring
Thanks a lot. Tried this today. So far no touch disease in last 2 hours. But left with 4 screws that won't fit any of the remaining holes. Whoever opens the logic board, be careful to note down after removing each screw, where you removed it from.
Refer to other videos of replacing the logic board, because this video shows removing the logic board in fast motion.
+Ds Ss I always try to lay out my screws in the same shape as my iPhone. Sometimes I'll dry an outline on a piece of paper and but them where they came. Thanks for sharing and watching!
+Ds Ss I linked in the description to a full guide on how to remove it. Thanks for watching!
I came up with a similar idea today to fix the iPhone 6 plus touch issue and it only involves opening and closing the phone. I cut a very small sliver of memory foam and placed it on top of the silver shield that is covering the problem chip. I then closed the phone which had a very snug fit with the memory foam inside. It fixed the issue instantly. You can also use an old nano sim card on top of the chip as in the "iPhone 6 plus touch disease ic simple fix" video.
Ty for the video, actually managed to make My iPhone work again, only one problem tho' When i finnished closing the iPhone i noticed i have one screw left, cba opening the iPhone again😅. But IT is working ty a million
+Chinitos79 you are so welcome! Thanks for watching! Please share with anyone it can help!
