- In this episode, a Gen X father and his Gen Z son react, as first-timers, to The Strokes' The Adults Are Talking. Even though we know Radiohead is the greatest band of all time, we react to requested songs that viewers suggest we might like.

They don’t have a bad album. My second favorite band.
Ahh The Strokes. The band that allowed me to really find my place in the music sphere and expand my taste, which eventually lead me to the joy I have for Radiohead today.
I recommend any of the following The Strokes songs:
The Strokes is a very good band, but I think you all would like the first few albums more. My absolutely favorite ear worm is "Reptillia."
We want more 'the strokes' reaction
If you do The Strokes , you gotta do Interpol too :)) they're a package deal in my eyes
Would love to hear more sometime! my fav band
can't believe u guys only have 700 subs, great content as always!
for new listeners i would recommend Ode to the mets from the recent stuff & Hard to Explain from the early stuff
It’s fun to watch you boogie while listening. LOL! I actually really love this song and love listening to the Strokes often. (And, yes, this is a well-known Strokes song. Even my 16 year-old son knows it.) I understand your son’s comment that Julian’s way of singing reminds him of Radiohead. When he’s singing, “Don't go there 'cause you'll never return…(etc.)” there is a similar tone quality (maybe a little nasally with forward placement, mixed in with a tiny bit of growling/gravelling, too… Then there’s the falsetto! And of course, the closeness to the mic, which you talked about…), as well as similar musical intervals (descending minor 3rd and then diminished 5th, and - of course - others) that we have heard Thom sing. (Don’t make me name a song. LOL) But you even said this song reminds you of Keane, so keep in mind how Keane reminds many people of Thom. 😊 So you almost agreed with your son there… I agree with your mention of the momentum happening in the song. (Was that a robot dance you just did? A robot typing? LOL!) I wish I could hear what you guys are saying at
I discovered The Strokes after Radiohead. Two or three years later, just before the album this song is from was released. For me their discography quickly fell into my “very decent” category, assuming I have mental categories for artists, just below the likes of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley & Pj Harvey.
Their first album 'Is this it' doesn’t have a single misstep. The new abnormal is their best newer album. Check out The Voidz 'Human sadness' if you want Julian Casablancas's Paranoid android.
Radiohead is my favorite band of all time, but the Strokes are a close second! Thanks for this
Please listen to "trying your luck" by The Strokes it's a good jam
Muito legal. Strokes são uma lenda. Diferente da maioria das outras bandas. Autênticos. Isso vale muito.😊
Not listened to The Strokes for 20 years. Only for the last minute or so of the track I would have realised it was The Strokes (especially vocally). Saw them at Leeds Festival in 2002 whilst Julian Casablancas was on crutches.

Ok, but Hell still slaps. Only one I’ve ever heard actually
Possibly the best vocal example from The New Abnormal .
Would love to hear more Strokes reactions! Check out Ode To The Mets or At The Door
