Archive started mid 90's as a trip hop band. Their debut album Londinium is one of the best trip hop album ever. After Londinium they changed a lot the structure of the band, especially the singers and evolved first to a rock, then electro rock. They are now working as a collective with 2 different male singers and 2 female changing from one song to another. Their style is as you said very repetitive in a good way, and adding layers after layers to reach a climax. They love long songs so you have to enjoy the slow buil up. They are amazing live, I have seen them several times. Hope you'll explore their universe a bit further as they have a lot of very good songs.
It's an interesting song that makes me want to give it another listen. I definitely get the appeal to a Radiohead fan with the layering of sounds/instruments, the vocalist harmonizing with himself, and the build and climax of the song overall.
I really liked this song. I have added it to my playlist. Great suggestion Inverse Midas. Yes, Everything Everything is a band and it is a good suggestion for a viewer request. May I suggest the song titled It Was a Monstering. This is a great track and it sounds very Radioheady. Cheers guys.
So glad you gave them a go and so relieved that you enjoyed it. My favourite album is 2009’s Controlling Crowds (Parts I-III) from which this track was taken from but I mostly enjoy the era between 2002’s You All Look The Same To Me and 2012’s With Us Until Your Dead I’ll only suggest 10 other tracks as an introduction as I’d be here all week. 1. Dangervisit (probably my personal favourite) 2. Controlling Crowds 3. Hatchet 4. The Empty Bottle 5. Again (very Pink Floydy) 6. Conflict 7. System 8. Sane 9. Pills 10. F**k U.
I'm probably the only one requesting Kent, since they're basically super obscure outside of Scandinavia. Even though they're my top request, many of the others mentioned are great too. Everything Everything is an amazing band, and also Massive Attack ("Teardrop" is one of the best songs ever, in my book).
Okay, Archive, I need to listen to more. Funny you should mention it fits early noughties, I think it sits mid/In Rainbows, the vocal idea really reminds me of Faust Arp, the dry mix + the harmonising and the phrasing actually matches a bit as well before it heads off in its own direction. Really like the progressive sound as well. So I somehow missed you mentioning you both enjoy Keane as well, I would suggest taking a listen to Athlete and Snow Patrol, if you haven't, along with the previously suggested Coldplay, all sit in the post OK Computer Brit indie sort of soundscape. Other suggestions would be: Nothing But Thieves - Your Blood Wolf Alice - Lipstick on the Glass If you want more Muse I'd suggest - Undisclosed Desires or Madness, hear the other more experimental/progressive side
Never heard of this band before, but not a bad first listen. Getting Morning Bell vibes in the second half of the song, so Kid A RH with a bit of Joy Division and even DM. Worth investigating.
Man I love archive, but it's one of those bands which I don't listen to album by album and mostly listen to their songs out of the album context and eventhough bullets is a good song, I have to say a bunch of their other songs are way better to me. If you ever was in the mood to listen to a 17 minute song, I would strongly recommend "Again" by them. It's one of my all time favorite songs.
i do love me some king gizzard. check out gamma knife by them - its really fast paced and a fun song - especially if you watch the music video with it! even if you dont react, in your own time you should give them a shot
Never heard of this it's sounds like 2000s radiohead. But i like some Porcupine trees reaction a prog rock band from britsh. I would suggest some like 'dignity' from their latest album and the overall popular song of them 'arriving somewhere but not here'.
I´d love to see you guys react to Queens of The Stone Age. I think the best album to start with for you it´s Like Clockwork, and from that album the songs Like Clockwork, The Vampyre of Time and Memory and Keep Your Eyes Peeled (In that order) edit: I´ve been doing a marathon of your radiohead reactions, because youre right, RADIOHEAD IS THE BEST BAND OF ALL TIME
I request 'Whole new way' by The Horrors and 'The ceder room' by Doves. Don't think either band made its way to the US, so should be new to your ears. Doves are the opposite Radiohead in as much as they were a dance music band in the 90s under a different name before pivoting to an indie band.
Appreciate the comment. So I looked at a live version, and at the point I stopped it and mentioned keyboards that is almost exclusively what is being used to that point. So...?
@@the15thfloor71the majority of the melodic foundation of the song is done via guitar and live string both on the recorded version and live (especially live) . This isn’t some keyboard produced track, that’s what “so”. The vast majority of this song was completed using actual physical instruments and is performed that way as well, my bad if I made that unclear .

If you like bubbles getting bigger you should check Lights" from Archive as well. One single bubble getting bigger approx. 18 minutes long ;-)

If you think this is keyboards and synth I got news for you lol
