He’s said in a video reflecting on his past raw veganism that he’s just replaced one eating disorder with another, going from being underweight and weak with orthorexia (extreme health obsession) to a severe binge eating disorder. He seems to have insight and be self aware of what he’s doing to himself, which makes this even sadder to watch.
It’s the fact that he would rather die as an obese person who willingly got himself to that point, than to actually get help, try and exercise and maintain a healthy weight.
It really is. My grandfather went to rehab for alcoholism, he was frail and weak when he went. About 6’2” tall and about 140lbs. He hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since rehab, but now he’s pushing 250lbs and gaining. Replaced his addiction to alcohol with an addiction to food. The same thing happened to me when I quit smoking only less severe before I got it under control. Addictions run deeper than substance.

I agree. The internet definitely has a part to play in his demise, but he catalysed it himself at the end of the day. His pursuit for fame and clout led to him eating more on camera and having a terrible diet because he knows it gets views and attention. It goes hand in hand. That “machine” he’s wearing is a C PAP to help for easier breathing during sleep. It’s a totally normal thing that several of my family members use.. taking that into perspective shows how much more drama and clout he’s chasing by wearing it like he’s in the HOSPICE.
i noticed that too, you can have sleep apnea even if your weight is normal and the machine is supposed to help you breathe while you're laying on your back, not while sitting so yeah he's blowing it out of proportion for attention
The CPAP machine is meant to be used when sleeping and not for being awake and talking for videos. You have a constant pressure of air and trying to talk with it running is quite uncomfortable. The machine will ramp up the pressure as the vacuum is lost by your mouth being open. And if he said he has had it since he was a kid then that's even more interesting. A lot of people tend to develop sleep apnea as a result of being overweight and losing weight can improve it. Or you can be unfortunate and just have it regardless of your weight. I've had sleep apnea since middle school but it's due to some other syndromes. My BMI is 19.5 with me being within a healthy weight range. Seeing his thumbnails/videos with the CPAP and using it for views made me cringe.
nik would get more views and numbers as he wants, if he actually started filming himself on his "weight loss journey". I'd watch every video to see that.

At 2:33 when he said "How many months are we gonna have to endure this pain," I think he really is talking about his inevitable death and how his "character" doesn't seem fazed by it. Even though the whole deeper meaning of the "character" is most likely some way to cope.
It's such a depressing way for someone to go out, literally force feeding yourself every day until you eventually succumb to all the illnesses your body will inevitably get.
I never knew of him until he turned into what he is today, but looking at his old violin videos genuinely make me feel sad for him. He played some really beautiful music.
As a kid, I would’ve loved to be niko and eat for fame. But as a young adult who is already battling some unnecessary weight gain, not obese, but certainly overweight by around 25-35 pounds on average. Even with a relatively low weight issue compared to other folks like Nikocado, it’s still tough to shed those pounds. It requires a fair amount of self control. Honestly I’d be extremely sad with myself if I were to become like him. And I don’t blame him for it in it’s entirety. He’s fishing for a steady career in an environment that thrives from chaos and poor health. Humans have an uncanny fascination with self destruction, and that overall leaves a terrible impact on ourselves. However, niko also is responsible for the choices he makes. I just hope he one day sticks to a health regimen in an attempt to recover his health before it’s too late. I know this is a year old video and I don’t keep up with the avocado, and I haven’t heard much about him, so I’m hoping that’s the sign that he’s either recovering or not being insane on camera for a while.
When I was a kid I would watch SNL reruns and I would see Chris Farley, 400 pound comedian, running around the stage, jumping up and down, dancing, and screaming. Being a heavy kid, I would get winded fairly easily when getting even basic exercise. I one day asked my dad “He’s not even tired. How did he run around the whole stage?” My dad just looks at me and said “Cocaine.” I’m just saying, when you do see Avocado moving around, he’s surprisingly energetic

He’s said in a video reflecting on his past raw veganism that he’s just replaced one eating disorder with another, going from being underweight and weak with orthorexia (extreme health obsession) to a severe binge eating disorder. He seems to have insight and be self aware of what he’s doing to himself, which makes this even sadder to watch.

It really is. My grandfather went to rehab for alcoholism, he was frail and weak when he went. About 6’2” tall and about 140lbs. He hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since rehab, but now he’s pushing 250lbs and gaining. Replaced his addiction to alcohol with an addiction to food.
The same thing happened to me when I quit smoking only less severe before I got it under control. Addictions run deeper than substance.

That “machine” he’s wearing is a C PAP to help for easier breathing during sleep. It’s a totally normal thing that several of my family members use.. taking that into perspective shows how much more drama and clout he’s chasing by wearing it like he’s in the HOSPICE.
i noticed that too, you can have sleep apnea even if your weight is normal and the machine is supposed to help you breathe while you're laying on your back, not while sitting so yeah he's blowing it out of proportion for attention

The CPAP machine is meant to be used when sleeping and not for being awake and talking for videos. You have a constant pressure of air and trying to talk with it running is quite uncomfortable. The machine will ramp up the pressure as the vacuum is lost by your mouth being open. And if he said he has had it since he was a kid then that's even more interesting. A lot of people tend to develop sleep apnea as a result of being overweight and losing weight can improve it. Or you can be unfortunate and just have it regardless of your weight. I've had sleep apnea since middle school but it's due to some other syndromes. My BMI is 19.5 with me being within a healthy weight range. Seeing his thumbnails/videos with the CPAP and using it for views made me cringe.

As a kid, I would’ve loved to be niko and eat for fame. But as a young adult who is already battling some unnecessary weight gain, not obese, but certainly overweight by around 25-35 pounds on average.
Even with a relatively low weight issue compared to other folks like Nikocado, it’s still tough to shed those pounds. It requires a fair amount of self control. Honestly I’d be extremely sad with myself if I were to become like him. And I don’t blame him for it in it’s entirety. He’s fishing for a steady career in an environment that thrives from chaos and poor health. Humans have an uncanny fascination with self destruction, and that overall leaves a terrible impact on ourselves. However, niko also is responsible for the choices he makes. I just hope he one day sticks to a health regimen in an attempt to recover his health before it’s too late.
I know this is a year old video and I don’t keep up with the avocado, and I haven’t heard much about him, so I’m hoping that’s the sign that he’s either recovering or not being insane on camera for a while.
When I was a kid I would watch SNL reruns and I would see Chris Farley, 400 pound comedian, running around the stage, jumping up and down, dancing, and screaming. Being a heavy kid, I would get winded fairly easily when getting even basic exercise. I one day asked my dad “He’s not even tired. How did he run around the whole stage?” My dad just looks at me and said “Cocaine.”
