    Hello Paul, first of all, get well soon, I hope you have recovered. I am writing from Türkiye. I own a 2009 model BL case Mazda 3. About a week ago, the ABS, DSC and brake fault lights gave warnings, and when I started the car today, the warnings went away. When I stopped the vehicle and started it, the fault recurred. Do you think the ABS unit needs to be replaced? Thank you for your help.

    • @PaulinPerth
      @PaulinPerth  3 месяца назад

      Yes, I think a solenoid or a brush in the ABS module is starting to get sticky. The light will come on more frequently, and then it will stay on permanently. You don't have to rush to do the repair. It just means your ABS won't activate in a skid. So just drive conservatively until you get the unit replaced. Paul.

    Thank you, Paul for the video. Once you remove the pump and module, would you be able to separate the black module box from the aluminum block by removing the 4 Torx screws on each corner? It looks possible, but I don't know for certain. I know on the Toyota Sienna, that module can be separated by removing allen key bolts.

      Hi John,
      I've posted that unit off already so I can't check. Looking at the photos I took first, you might be right.
      If I get a failed one that I don't mind breaking, then I will deconstruct it and let you know. Or you can do the same for me.
      Paul.

    hi i have a 2010 mazda 3 with bad abs module.. wondering if i get a used one is plug and play or i have to reprogram it??

    • @paulsz6194
      @paulsz6194 5 месяцев назад +2

      Used ones can still fail. No programming necessary, it just has to have be the identical model number as the one on your original ABS module, just like Paul here mentions at 18:21.

      Yes, it will work. The last character is just a version number. E,F,G. The replacement you have found is a later version of the same part. It will fit.

    Is there a reprogram required for these ABS modules as some people say ?? I have this issue with my 2010 mazda 3

    • @PaulinPerth
      @PaulinPerth  3 месяца назад

      No. You don't need to reprogram the module. You install the part, bleed the brakes, and then start the car up and drive away. Just make sure you get the right part number.
      Paul.

      @@PaulinPerth Thank you very much for sharing.. I went to the junk yard and I was able to remove the ABS module part only. It has 4 screws to the valve box that is attached to the motor. Easy removal, I have not install it yet. Just wanted to share that .

    • @PaulinPerth
      @PaulinPerth  Год назад +1

      Hello Pedro,
      I don't repair them. Please contact a module reconditioning firm. You haven't indicated what country you are in. If you are in Australia, then try contacting Injectronics.
      Paul in Perth, Australia.

      Hi Paul, i was able to connect with them via Bursons. Both were super helpful and tried really hard to find a solution to my ABS. Unfortunately that unit was beyond repair but was able to find a replacement which worked perfectly.
      Hardest part of job was tightening the nuts but got there in the end with some help.
