I cannot express how grateful I am for this guide ... i just changed my 5 year old laptop with a beast of a machine with i9 and Ge4090 and I was stuck at 80 FPS , I thought i was going to lose my mind (since BDO was top 5 reasons for hardware upgrade ) . I applied your guide and FPS went to screen capacity of 244.... I hope your channel blows up and good things come your way .. THANK YOU ! best guide ever , best guide template ever !
Just wanted to drop you a line sir and say that you saved my game. Nvidia did some sort of update and all of a sudden I was playing a PS2 game. Your guide was able to fix it after hours of frustration thank you very much

OH THANK GOODNESS you didn't tell me to make sure the computer was plugged in first like this other video! And it wasn't recorded on a cellphone. I've always wanted to have AMD working at all times with lower graphics now I can finally do that
At 2:23 you say select whatever setting you want, but then say this setting is only meant for remastered. What do you mean there? It works pretty good for me for grinding but I have been getting hang ups, especially trying the Maegu. So since i participate in Node wars especially I wanted to try setting preset 2 as lowest optimal, so I can in fact set it to that right? Also under the amd fidelity is it ok if I set it to performance? This mode I am not worried so much about graphics ofc. I do have a lower end card a gtx 1650 super so. Great guide, thanks so much!
Sorry mate, let me clarify as it probably does sound confusing. AMD FSR is 'made" to only be on alongside Remastered. You cannot turn it on with FXAA while using any other graphic setting other than remastered, unless you do the set of clicks in the video first. By following the video you are able to turn AMD FSR, FXAA and whichever graphic quality you want on, instead of it only having the Remastered option.
Actually went from 80fps to 120 , thanks man , you are truly one of a kind. I have a question tho , is upscaling a must? I feel like my game is bit pixelated when i turn it on.
The upscaling can make things like grass look a little pixelated when moving the camera quick, but that is expected. AMD FSR is a pretty important step for FPS gain, but if It doesn't suit you, turn it off and see how the FPS goes. Cheers
AMD fidelity thing does nothing when i select it following this - it does not give me an option to select a quality mode oh nevermind can only see it thru the Display Setting tab. **edit yeah even doing it 'properly' i see zero visual difference nor any performance difference (gpu usage). direct picture comparing between ultra quality and performance fidelity thingy... no change at all after doing the hacky method of keeping it on but not in remastered/ultra.
Hey, I have a quick question, you mentioned that in windowed fs you still render more frames but are capped at your monitor's refresh rate. Knowing that bdo speeds up your animations based on your frame rate would the frames that aren't shown in windowed also contribute to your animation speed or would you be better off in fullscreen to take advantage of the extra frames your pc can push?
good to know guide here man.. many thanks! so i was able to use High + Slightly High (not remastered) and kept the AMD fidelity on.. how do we know that it's being applied and not a visual bug?
You can tell the difference with AMD on and off. Try it out, stand still on one setting, then move yoru character forward and back, do the same on the other setting. The most noticeable part will be small textures like blades of grass that are being upscaled will look different.
Your guide was good but I keep getting a white screen on use of magnus skill. I know you said you can fix it with swapping characters but that's not worth it for me. What setting do I need to turn off to fix it again @Scruffoon ?
That is just from using AMD Fidelity while having a Graphic Quality other than Remastered. To stop it, either use remastered with AMD Fidelity, or just turn off AMD fidelity. Fair warning, that is most of the FPS though, AMD Fidelity is the biggest FPS difference of the whole thing.
Nope, just once. It will reset the AMD fidelity if you decide to choose another preset or graphics texture, so you will need to do that again, but if you do it once, just set and forget
upscale or amd fidelity .. im confused a lil bit bcs i do not want more fps i want decrease my tempeture. so what should i do for lower tempetrue and should i close or open low power settings ?
If you want lower temperatures on the GPU, just lower the graphics, the upscaling shouldn't make a noticeable difference. However if you are referring to the temperature spikes that BDO has at the moment when you launch the game, and then every 20 seconds while playing. That is due to the anti cheat they implemented a few months ago. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about that besides throttling the CPU so that it doesnt run at 100% (or overboost automatically).
@@kuzubaba2306 It depends on multiple factors. But in general, change power option on the PC to balanced or ECO. Change in game low power option to ON. Lower graphicso verall in game. But ultimately if you are having overheating issues, you really should look at your hardware setup. But again, if you are referring to temperature spikes from time to time during BDO, that is Xigncode. Not your system. Hope this helped.

thank you so much! do you find that having amd fsr on for the regular graphic options actually affect the fps? cuz i was thinking maybe it's just a visual thing in the settings and it might not actually be turning on in actuality? that's just a guess tho
Idk man, when i use FXAA i see a lot of shimmering or whatever it is. And if i add FSR to this mess... it adds even more shimmering+ghosting effect around character, literally unplayable. Maybe because of the FHD resolution? When i use Remaster+TAA withot FSR, everythhing looks nice, and the blurr is faintly visible.
I did this but now when I minimize game to tray it still consumes a lot of my PC resources. Before doing your guide the consumption went down no nearly 0 every time I minimized to tray. Do you know what's causing this and how to fix it?
Since the Xigncode update, BDO has been high on the resource usage even when minimized. But if you are saying it was only since doing this guide, the only thing I can think of that is causing it would be the power settings set to high. If you have already done the CPU Core Affinity guide from Canadians Guide or Quendyas latest video, that can also cause it. Otherwise just try reverting everything back, and doing each part one at a time and then minimizing to test.
@@scruffoon What i meant to say is that it was just the GPU usage that was on max when minimizing. I recall that my windows power settings were already on high before following your guide. Could it be something from the nvidia control panel? I didn't do any affinity stuff.
You can test with the Power on NVidia control panel, Not too sure though to be honest. Testing each settign would be the only way. I doubt it is in game, so probablty Nvidia control panel or the power setting on PC@@davidmr505

Try the settings in the guide, based on your GPU maybe drop Graphics Quality lower until you find it stable. Stutters are usually from either low FPS, or high but unstable FPS, where the dips are large, dropping from 200 to 100 for a second feels worse than just sitting at 100 constantly.
Cheers. I have that set up already with the batch file launcher in the top right of the screen. After the xigncode update it is minimal difference sadly, and the AMD's already have spikes because of Xigncode. Didn't want to add that into this guide as it's more advanced for some people and doesn't make any dramatic difference at this moment. Hopefully they revert or discard xigncode@@WolfyBDO

On both Win 10 and 11 if you go fullscreen and DO NOT set a max framerate in Nvidia Control Panel, you will see maximum FPS you are rendering. In windowed it will limit it to the refresh rate of the monitor. In Windows 11 there is a setting that allows borderless window to go past the refresh rate of the monitor but 90% of the time it doesn't seem to work properly in BDO.
Holy fk, this was speedrun Any% How to optimize BDO graphic settings! Thank you so much for your work. Just curious, how long did it take you to figure this all out on your own before making the guide?
Any 3000 series or higher GPU will handle BDO just fine. The more players on screen, the more your CPU becomes a bottleneck, it handles tracking everything and everyone on screen. CPU is the real FPS bottleneck once your GPU is half decent for open world games
Mainly in Win10 it doesnt work as intended. But Win11 should be ok. Either way game mode doesnt give any noticeable benefits, so I prefer to just leave it out of the way
Settings will still work, the CPU and GPU will still bottleneck the game though. Only so much that settings will do before you need to be looking at better hardware.

In theory its meant to stop background processes for more FPS and resources, but in reality it doesn't work as intended most of the time, sometimes making things worse.
Just in general, it doesn't make anything better, but has the potential to make it worse. Leave it on if you want to, we are talking minimal differences here, they just stack up in the end.@@denm6300
It will work on any setup, the only difference being which Graphic Quality option you choose. On a 3060 you can still play on remastered, however in Node War and Siege it might lag. For a 3060 I would probably just set to high or something instead of remastered if you do things like Node Wars
Everything except the Nvidia Control Panel part will work. I don't have an AMD to make a video on the AMD software settings, but as long as you can force VSync to be off, and change any power settings to prioritize max performance, it should be good to go.
@@scruffoon No worries, it might not be fried after all, I reset the bios with another GPU and the PC works. Will try with my normal GPU again in a bit! You're fast on the replies haha

Just in general, it doesn't make anything better, but has the potential to make it worse. Leave it on if you want to, we are talking minimal differences here, they just stack up in the end.@@denm6300
@@scruffoon gonna leave it off to see the diference for now. I just wish they could optimize the game in the future
No problem. Yeah if BDO had better optimization, none of us would need these kind of guides. One day.... maybe@@denm6300
Does this work for a msi gaming laptop with 3060 rtx?
It will work on any setup, the only difference being which Graphic Quality option you choose. On a 3060 you can still play on remastered, however in Node War and Siege it might lag. For a 3060 I would probably just set to high or something instead of remastered if you do things like Node Wars
No BS, thanks a lot.
what gpu are you using?
RTX 3080
Thanks bro!!!
wow works amazingly in 2025 as well! I gained around 50 fps
best guide to exist
Thanks mate.
thanks bro, I wish bdo was more optimised man
Don't we all haha
hi idol
tysm!🤗
is this works on AMD?
Everything except the Nvidia Control Panel part will work. I don't have an AMD to make a video on the AMD software settings, but as long as you can force VSync to be off, and change any power settings to prioritize max performance, it should be good to go.
If you're on linux the first 1:10 mins don't matter for you :) isn't it great how much bloat windows has
Thank you. Very helpful
thanks!
My GPU fried 15 min after applying these changes. That's my luck I guess
😯Actually? This should take load OFF the GPU, not increase load.
@@scruffoonyeah, could be a coincidence
@@IKGAOPUMUILSLAAN Sorry to hear that bro
@@scruffoon No worries, it might not be fried after all, I reset the bios with another GPU and the PC works. Will try with my normal GPU again in a bit! You're fast on the replies haha
@@IKGAOPUMUILSLAAN Cheers, let me know if there is anything I can help with mate
