Loved this interview! As a Certified Juice Therapist it's encouraging to see a plant-based cardiologist that understands the power of juicing along with a WFPB diet for disease reversal.
This is my cardiologist - love their restaurant Garden Kitchen. I’ve done their 30-day raw vegan detox program. It’s fantastic! Very comprehensive treatment center.
What a sweet doctor. Thanks for the info. I just had a heart attack and they put in a stent and now I wonder what to do. He said it it- eat plant based diet!
I wish I knew about Dr. Montgomery before my mom passed I would have made sure she had a consultation with him when she was dx with mitral valve regurgitation/ congestive heart failure 😢🙏🏾❤️
Excellent interview, thank you! I too especially like the comment about not genes, but the recipes. I have told my friends, when they tell me they inherited the possibilities of them getting sick, from their parents... and I say, yes, if we eat like our parents, yes, we will have the same illnesses. I don’t think they believed me so I don’t say anything anymore .... given away books to no avail .... I just say, if they ask me or comment on weight I’ve lost, like dr lisle says, oh, I’m just trying a new diet and my body seems to like it. End of story.
Does it prevent ATP production , I’ve been taken Prilosec for over 25 years and I’ve been Dx: with acid reflux in 1989. This might explain my low energy… Thank you for informing us on our health. ❤
Great interview with a very interesting doctor. I wish I lived closer to Texas, but I'm in Italy! I'm not clear on something. Does Dr. Montgomery recommend a raw vegan diet forever or just for the detox?
My Dr perscribe calcium acetate when my levels are In normal range, should I take it….I think should perceived it for bone density ❤ loving the knowledge…
Did he really say at the beginning that the LDL of 190 or more was diagnostic for HD. My cardiologist says the research says 70 is ideal although most docs still say under 100. My cardiologist is now pushing a new level of 50 which I think is industry funded for PCSK9 inhibitors, PCSK9 inhibitors are a new class of drugs that lower LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol. Right now, there are two FDA-approved medications: alirocumab (Praluent) and evolocumab ( Repatha ).
Big question; I KNOW there are no quick fixes but eating horribly the last few months of the year has my total at 284 (ldl 206). 😖. I’m past week 1 of eliminating ALL oil, of any sort (Dr.Esselstyn plan)…..how soon could I get retested to see if it’s working? I’ll continue on the WOE but would like proof for motivation. 🙏🙏
Hope chef ,u can notice my comment, i have heart F , and i wana ask about himalayan salt. I cooked no oil ,salt and sugar ,only plant-based , but still have a hard matter to how i can make my food not bland ,thank u
Avocado Psyllium or Metamucil Almonds and Walnuts lots of water gets your cholesterol to normal everyday for 2-3 months exercise meaning walking light weight just 2lb or 5lb weights
I know him...he was my doctor. I did a 5 week raw diet with him way before I ever thought of being vegan!!! Very Good cardiologist !!!
Am bless to meet this great man that helps with natural medicine

Is there a difference between juicing and blending?
Can you use a blender to juice?or do you have to have a juicer

John Rose was the raw vegan he met that encouraged him to do a juice fast and is instrumental in this story.
Good information 💕

All cases vary, but for the most part, for a 30day detox. Close to the end, he describes his diet.
I have lipoprotein a, sounds like I need to remove nuts and nut butter from my diet. I love both!

The stats are amazing. The comment about greens cracked me up.
Dr. Montgomery: 👍

I am interviewing Dr. Esslestyn tomorrow perhaps you can ask him live
He did not say that, he said that it is an indication of (gene related) inherited hypercholesteromy (spelling?)
Very informative. Broad references.
How important is the raw part of the food?
Big question; I KNOW there are no quick fixes but eating horribly the last few months of the year has my total at 284 (ldl 206). 😖. I would think 3 months would be a good time to get re-tested

There are many wonderful salt free seasonings such as Table Tasty and anymore. I don't use Himalaya salt or any salt.
Very Informative!
Whoop! Houston in the house!
What was the name of that super food supplement that helps to lower LDL cholesterol?
Avocado Psyllium or Metamucil Almonds and Walnuts lots of water gets your cholesterol to normal everyday for 2-3 months exercise meaning walking light weight just 2lb or 5lb weights
