What some people think is too thin, isn't too thin. People have gotten used to seeing people overweight and think that is normal.

@@ghost9-9ghost That's interesting about your facial hair. And, yes, other diets where the food is too limited can cause too much weight loss.

This is true! At 150 lbs, I was still a good 25-30 lbs over my normal healthy high school weight and people would say I was getting "too thin"! What's crazier, is that according to charts, at 5'4", I should weigh even less....as little as 115! I couldn't even imagine how thin I would look at 115.

@@ghost9-9ghostprotein alone doesn't lead to muscle building. Weight bearing exercises will. Example experiment - 1 leg in plaster (immobilised) and 1 leg not. Regardless of protein the immobile leg lost muscle mass. It's important to move. No need for protein powders. When losing weight we don't just lose fat. With less body weight we need less muscles to maintain it. But keep exercises up.. pilates, weights, etc I was exactly the same. Lost 12 kgs but slowly over time. To stop losing too quickly I enjoyed eating more food but I was strict.... whole food plant based diet without salt oil or sugar (occasionally couldn't because was out eating with family- always vegan). People think I'm too slim... but I'm normal now, it's because we are all used to being bigger and that looks normal. I'm 5ft 6 and weigh 60 kgs. I have been nearly 80 kgs in the past but yo yo to 72kgs & 77kgs mostly. Cutting out the ultra processed foods made the difference along with going to the gym.

@@ghost9-9ghost Thank you. I see two out of the three available. I can't find nutiva plant vanilla. Vega sport is one I've tried and can't really handle the taste. Maybe garden of life tastes better? Have you tried Earth Chimp? I have tried Orgain unsweetened and found it okay, but don't know that the ingredients are the best.

4:50 "weight by itself is not the sole marker of your health" this is incredibly important and valuable.
I knew about this, but it was still very hard to truly understand and apply the first time in my life I was at a lower weight (bmi of 18.9, from 20.6). Especially after being evaluated by a doctor and all labs were normal so I was told to gain weight. I was not even in an unhealthy weight, according to bmi and knew this wasn't the cause of the problem, but this comment made me feel as if I was causing my health issues myself by losing 10 pounds... at the time I was doing Dr Brooke Goldeners diet, so 100% raw vegan and my autoimmune markers were improving but I was very scared because I was also having other health problems.
I stopped the diet, gained the weight back and +20 more pounds (unwanted) and was still having the same health issues so it was definitely not the weight loss...
I wish more doctors did a better job at being more interested and investigative with their patients instead of just giving a general recommendation of gain weight or lose weight when they don't know what is going on...

Oh don't get me started with other people comments... I didn't see anyone because this was during the pandemic but family still comment to this day about how thin and unhealthy I looked in pictures back then while with +20-30 lbs I look better, healthier and prettier

Aaaa thanks so much awesome talk. Yes, we were also concerned about airfryers as the ones available by us is made from aluminium on the inside-the trays and baskets. My husband work with aluminium so he is able to recognize it. I dont use any auminium cookware beause of the toxicity so decided against it. I bought a glass one, not so fast, but faster than normal oven.

Dr. McDougall recommends adding or increasing nuts/seeds consumption for vegans needing or wanting to gain weight, and also to simply maintain current weight, i.e. stop losing more weight. Dr. McDougall recently stated that he himself has increased his nut consumption to at least two handfuls of walnuts every morning with his oatmeal.

Fat in the morning is not a great thing. Your liver needs glucose and hydration instead of fats… I found that actually eating more carbs and no fat helped me to restaure weight… now Im more normal weight after a few years. With no fats but more nourishing fruits and roots.

I started WFPB in late January and have averaged losing 2 lbs per week going from a BMI of 31.1 to 28. I've wondered if I could be losing muscle by losing this fast so I lift weights every other day. Now I'm actually gaining muscle.

Oye Vay! Nathan Bryant told you that Nitric Oxide may Not be as high in organic greens as we think??
    Should we eat beets?
Why does Dr. Nathan Bryan say organically grown leafy greens contain 10 x Less Nitric Oxide- does Dr. Esselstyn’s recommendation from his research help us then??
    Anyone know??

Fantastic News, keep an eye on weight loss, the New Zealand Government doesn't think its a right for those with disability to manage their weight, they do not want to know about it.....
By Disability I mean some one that is hoist dependent can not use a traditional set of scales - Last I knew a hoist attachment was about $3k-4K
    Is USA the same???
