Ah, the classic “hurry down and please slow to 210” in the same sentence. My wife and I have 55 yrs of ATC service at Indy Center...if, years ago, our instructors heard us say that they would have unplugged our headsets and thrown them across the room.
Loved the video! Great landing! One day I’m gonna have my own PC-24. Couple of years more then we maybe see each other in the sky. 🛩️ Never stop dreaming people! ✨ Good luck and God bless
I got my commercial pilots license and multi engine instrument rating back in 2013 and still have not landed my first flying job. I love your channel and the cool clips. The PC 24 seems like an awesome jet. To me coming on to RUclips and watching these videos is the closest I can get to actually flying an air craft.
Very very nice. And I was listening to the sound of the landing gear being released. For me that confirmed the sound that I hear when nothing is moving on the wings of the commercial airliners, it's gotta be the landing gears being released. It's a thump noise followed by an overlapping wind sound. And that occurs mostly on the Boeing 757s and the 767s. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Personally I never take my hands off the thrust levers during approach, landing, etc. in case of a last minute go around or a bounced landing that leads to a go around. If I can't land with just my one hand, I need help lol
I’ve flown with female co pilots and I found them to be excellent pilots. Women in general are great at multi tasking and they tend to be perfectionists. I did notice though that they have a tendency to sit really close to the yoke even when they are average height whereas I like to sit with lots of leg room. That was a good landing Sam. Not sure if PC-24 has Thrust Reversers but I am used to flying Jets with TR and I always keep my right hand on Thrust Levers all the way down to touch down and landing rollout. As soon as my main wheel touches down, I crack open the TRs and as soon as the nose wheel touches down, I go into full TRs slowly unless the runway is long like those at KSLC. Even when I don’t use TRs I always keep my right hand on THRUST Levers from short final all the way to parking.
no reverse thrust on the 24. as well when mains touch the lift dump from the spoilers is aggressive . it will slam the nose down hard if you don't pull back after flare . also the fact all our flight controls are direct linkage to the yoke and not assisted by hydraulics . . I recommend them to land with 2 hands the last 10 feet once committed if conditions permit . this gives you precise pitch control and fights the helps fight the lift dump on landing . course if the winds are wild we will have one hand on the thrust .
@@PlaneJunkies Thanks for the update.Yeah I did notice the nose bounced back up after touchdown. Otherwise it was a nice landing by Sam. You’ve trained her well. Nice video, I enjoyed watching it.
Tell Samantha I think she did great. I am just curious how old she is? Has she been a pilot a while and just the first landing in the pc24 or is she just starting her pilot career? I love watching your videos because since I will probably never be a pilot, I can watch your videos and imagine I am sitting in the seat beside you. I just wish you would post more because there's not always a new video for my nightly flight with you🥺
Well! All I can say is that, the lady on the right hand side of the cockpit was "A Masterpiece of creation", she looked so confident and I couldn't help looking at her oval shaped face and golden voice till the end.
Could someone please explain why she takes the hand off the throttles just before touchdown? 😳 I find this a bit unusual because off a possible go around, windshear, gusts etc.
Lots of yaw during an engine failure at V1 with such slow rotations speeds not lots of airflow over the rudder they installed a rudder booster that kicks on automatically if an engine fails
Is that a bubble forming on the dash right by where it curves for the hump or is it a shadow that gives the impression? Saw on another video where it looked like on right side there was a smaller bubble forming too. Shadow?
Good question! The PC-24 has an auto-throttle feature that most planes in this class do not offer. When engaged, it controls the speed on approach. It disengages automatically after landing. The pilot controls the throttle to exit the runway and to park. It’s a feature that I like very much because it reduces the pilot’s workload and decreases the chance of “information overload” that can cause a pilot’s brain to freeze at critical times in the flight.
I agree with Aviator Gamer, why the face after a greaser? Love all your videos!!! Thank You for taking the time to do them for our entertainment. Can't wait for another video of Amelia flying the Eagle!!!!
So glad to see that Sam uses both hands on the yoke on approach and landing. For some reason, there is an unwritten rule in aviation that a pilot MUST use only ONE HAND on the yoke at any time. That’s ridiculous. Don’t listen to that. You do what’s most comfortable to you while flying the aircraft. Great job, Sam! We all hope to see more of you soon!
When will Sam be ready and able to fly alone? Can you do a video on that when she does, Tommy let her fly more full missions with you slowly not even coaching her, and then the solo flight eventually. Just like when we all did when we first did our private pilots license, "looking forward to that video, Sam's first PC 24 solo flight" Oh and WHY do those monitors flicker so much they should have that sorted out by now with the new technologies to stabilizing please find out if you can for me this doesn't happen in the falcon 2000s, Tommy if you can, I am curious what's going on there as a future owner of either one I find this annoying.
Really enjoying these Plane Junkies videos, but , could you tell us again why you use the words "Gulfstream" N955PS as the callsign instead of "Pilatus" N955PS for your PC-24 ! Please excuse me if this has been answered before! Thanks again!
So o have a question: We know the normal max range of the PC24 in various routine operational scenarios. But What is the maximum ferry range for the pc24? Could you reposition transatlantic for instance?
the PC 24 has a 2000 nm range. A plane could take off from St Johns, Nova Scotia and make Ireland with 1.5 hours of fuel left. But why spend that kind of money on a reposition? Reassigning a plane to a new base of operations is one thing. It would be cheaper for a charter company to contract another plane to cover a one off charter.
I think it will be a perfect touch to get some gopro mounts in the cockpit for your videos rather than holding the gopro with your hands. There is some uniqueness to it.
Because she got airborn for a lil bit... If you ask me, she wanted to land really smooth. :D But unless she is in competition for smooth landing, she did great if someone ask me as a passenger.
Tommy You are making Beautiful PC-24 Female Captains. Do You need a Baggage Handler?. Thank You Tommy for showing Us the Awesome Captain and the Awesome cockpit of the PC-24.
Good landing, ma'am. You're so brave to put your flying out there for these armchair quarterbacks ! Where the majority don't even know how to fly, but 😊it's easy to set behi the keyboard and criticize your flying. When they know no one will see their's ! I think that in some situations, it puts unnecessary stress on the pilot's to fly for the fans instead of flying for the pilot's enjoyment . Ok, that's my two cents. Enjoy your time flying. 😎👍
at 8:14 you can see on the middle bottom screen at bottom left side is the checklist not finished and at 9:09 is finished and between that time you can hear how she check the ticks (the elevator trim control clicks differently) :D
Good job Sam! Still can't get over how beautiful this Swiss aircraft is, and how lucky you guys are to fly her!
Her disappointed face on touchdown though hahah... You did great Capt!
...another beautiful PC-24 video from Tommy ...priceless..many thanks again for taking time to prepare ..and post..from an early subscriber ...
Excellent job. Thanks for the video.
Great Landing Samantha. Cool as a cucumber. Clear Skies & Safe Landings !!!
I am cleared direct to breakfast while watching the Plane Junkies grease another landing!
Martha Retallick great surname, I live in the part of the world where it originates in SW England.
What a smooth landing that was, wow. I hope I can be as good of a pilot as Sam soon :)

Spin down.
I fly a 73. You can’t do that. 🤦🏻♂️. I’ll give one or the other.
I guess that's the old "combined" years of service ?
Great video Tommy. They're really good, giving the viewer everything we enjoy watching and hearing. Keep'um coming.
It is very cool how you share the spotlight with your coworkers, y'all seem to all work well with each other. Thanks for the entertainment.
We do have an awesome team
Great Job Sam, please keep on doing what you do great....love it....love it...you guys are doing it bigtime and having fun .....
Thanks Tommy - Sam's awesome lovely stable approach and landing :-)
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Loved the video! Great landing!

Always fun watching
Excellent landing at a place I'm familiar with having helped open Eastern Airlines operations there in Dec 1978
Thanks for sharing, Great landing lady👍👍👍
bad ass!!!

Nicely done Thanks for sharing these great videos
Glad you like them!

Great Video, great landing Sam! Looks like you solved the gimbal problem Tommy, tks.
Held by hand lol
Switching to a two hand grip moments before touchdown seemed awkward in that she had to regain the feels in her hands.
She did Awesome....
Sometimes it feels like it makes a huge difference though lol

I don't know if it's the camera angle, but it looked crosswind at bit. Sam owned that landing! 👍👍👍😍
Beautiful landing
Nice landing, don’t beat yourself up. Great video.
Great video and audio!
Sam did a great job. Such a good looking airplane.
Good job!! Keep the videos comming.
Hello from Pilatus Land 🇨🇭
Great landing video 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it
Good Job!!

Just a little bit down the road from where the engines came from.

Great drama free landing! Just wonderful.....
Awesome Job Sam !! Now have Sam land it on a shortened Grass runway !!
More videos with Sam please. Love her personality
Aw nice! An oh shit handle mounted high in between the windshields. PC-24👍👍
Nice job!
Great job thank you wish I could have one Beautiful plane
Nicely done Sam....me next please!!
Well done Sam.
I thought you were going to pull the yoke out.

i was that airport in a February cold and snowy night .......was pretty scary landing
im from switzerland by the way!
How do you guys steer the plane on the ground as well as in the air.....I learning from you both.....
well done. THANKS
Our pleasure!
Customer question- What's the hourly rate for this beautiful bird? Love the video keep up the good work.
I think it’s fractional ownership,
They do charters too. Call Steelman Aviation and ask them. They are based out of Vegas.
Could someone please explain why she takes the hand off the throttles just before touchdown? 😳
I find this a bit unusual because off a possible go around, windshear, gusts etc.
winds are calm so no reason keep a hand on there once committed to landing
Question. Why did you place both hands on the yoke soon after touch down? Hand should be on the power throughout the landing phase correct?
Really cool
Nice job
Nice job Sam
Is there peds on the floor on the PC 24's for on the ground as well as in the air....I am not a pilot...just watching you guys.....
This does look like fun. A heck of a lot easier than a C-130 Hercules. God bless Honeywell avionics.
so easy to use
@@PlaneJunkies Yes but in a bad storm I would rather be in a Hercules as they rarely ever go down.
nice,,, wonder why it has a yaw damper when it has a straight wing ? just to keep ppl happy i guess lol?
Lots of yaw during an engine failure at V1 with such slow rotations speeds not lots of airflow over the rudder they installed a rudder booster that kicks on automatically if an engine fails

A little floaty, but not bad Sam. She walks away and can reuse the plane, so its an Excellent Landing. 😁
why the flap indicator change to blue after landing?
