  • One of the largest aircraft models in the Fiddlers Green hangar, the mighty Convair B-36 Peacemaker bomber.
The B-36 was operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1949 to 1959 and was capable of delivering any of the nuclear weapons in the U.S. arsenal.
This video is Part 2 of the construction of the giant model which has a 40" wingspan. The video covers making the parts and sections of the fuselage.
The set of videos will cover the full construction of the model and possibly some tips and tricks to make it even better.
If you don't already subscibe to Fiddlers Green I can highly recommend it. Lots and lots of models and just for a few dollars they will send you one every day. www.fiddlersgre...

Imagine the cost at this scale in styrene. When buying a plastic model you are really paying for the design work, injection molding machinery and the actual tooling costs. The actual model and box cost very little.

Thanks for your comment. Plastic models (even unbuilt) can be very impressive. I have a cupboard full, just gathering dust that I am very unlikely to build. Why do I keep hold of them? I don't know. I switched to paper models because I wanted to build a large scale HP-42 (my grandfather was a radio operator on this aircraft) It soon was evident to me that paper models are much cheaper, lots of variety and so much easier to store. You just need a modified skill set... Can't go back now. 🙂
