    Ct70's. Great little trailbike. Sturdy beasts. Japanese quality at their prime.
    I remember i wanted one of these when i was younger. But my father didn't see it as i did. He knew very well the dangers of riding regular motocycles. Theres no surviving a motorcycle accident. Still i think these trailbikes are the sturdiest and the craftmanship is the best Honda ever put out.

    Good Video for the beginner, You give a lot of your time helping others. Quick tip on Lifan engines. Always show checking oil level before starting an engine. I have seen several Lifan motors that are 4 spds and the oil level is not checked & low oil level in these Lifans cause Clutch plate to stick & clutch wont work. there are tricks to try and unstick this issue., but very important to always show checking oil level prior to start up. Thanks

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  2 года назад +1

      No, this engine does not require a battery to run. Unfortunately, the 90cc bikes used a completely different engine mounting bolt pattern than the CT70 and Z50…..so, this engine is NOT a direct bolt-in for your bike. It can be made to fit, but takes some fab work.

    I guess that putting a 125 in a 70 frame. Gives it a little more pep. I have a 72 Honda CL100 I’m playing with. Lots of fun but that motor would fit. It has a bar that runs down in front where the valves are on that motor.

    • @MiniBikeMike

      The 125 nearly doubles the fun of the 70cc engine. The aftermarket engines are copies of the Honda horizontal engine, not the vertical engine of your 100.

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  3 года назад

      I apologize for not covering that cable. The Lifan engine has the exact same setup as the original CT70 H engines.....so, you can use an H clutch cable. If you’re installing on a bike that was originally a 3 speed, the left brake perch needs to be drilled out slightly to accept the cable end, it a little bigger than the brake cable end.

    Thanks Mike great video as always and glad your back. I have the same bike and installing the same engine, but would like to wire up the indicators. Is there any reason why I couldn't use the Trail Buddy TB421 sub harness which plugs into the original Honda harness. This looks like a simpler option or am I missing something? Why replace the original OEM harness?

    • @MiniBikeMike
      @MiniBikeMike  3 года назад

      I have never tried a sub harness. The bikes I build are usually beat and the original harness is missing or has enough damage to not mess with it. For a bike with signals, I use the TB422, which I’m using in my current build. It’s plug n play and I’ll be fine with wiring within 15 minutes.
