My hobby is building Honda CT70 and related style bikes. I’m not a Honda purist and build most of my bikes with larger aftermarket engines. My videos aren’t flashy or include fancy camera work, just simple filming of my daily life in my garage. Thanks for following along.

I don't know how the heck I missed seeing this video for two years, but finally, here we are. Thanks for another informative and interesting video, Mike.
Thanks for sharing the vendors
Well, it's been a month since this video came out, did it sell? What did you ask for it? As usual, Mike, another great video.
@@bartgoins1782 I never really advertised it, other than saying it was For Sale in the video. So, no, no real interest in it and I still have it.
Well, that's a shame, Mike. I'm sure someone will come along asking if you have a running XL70 for sale come spring time.
So Canada is out of the question? Lol
Got a venom 125cc im about to put some street tires on it and get it plated thru dirtlegal do u think its worth going that route or just get one of these Classics or one of those Grom clone things Good stuff stellar work on the vid and cool channel 💪🏼💯💨💨💨

@MiniBikeMike thanks for the answer bro 👌
Is there a 2nd part to this? Been looking and can’t find
@@cod63667 Unfortunately, no. I’ve not touched that bike since this video posted. It’s still completely disassembled and in crates. It’s been on my list of “to do” things, but I’ve never jumped on it.
@@MiniBikeMike understood. I’ve got one of those! Videos are awesome. Thanks for sharing
Good evening, Mike. I’m sorry to bother you, sir but I was wondering what kind of carburetor do you use on your Z50s? I need to buy one for my bike and I thought you had a brand that you use, but I can’t remember the name. Thank you for your help sir and have a great day! Mark.
@@formegolf I use Nibbi carbs. I’ve never put one on a Z50. I typically build with Lifan engines.
@ thank you Mike

@@templechris6040 This is the one I have: amzn.to/4he4vCl
@@MiniBikeMike Thanks Mike!
I got a Honda super Cub c50 it's about blown up still runs and drives would like to get a new engine even if it has a clutch
Appears that the CL-70, “back in the day”, was a nice step up to a 17” wheel/tire bike from a Trail 70 (CT-70)… especially now with the Lifan 125 transplant. Also looks like you went with a semi-auto clutch on this one - semi-auto supporter here! 🔧🤙
@@donsoule6411 Yes, the CL70 is very comfortable to ride. It gives you a little more of a “real” motorcycle feel. When I built those Michigan bikes, I wasn’t sure how much riding experience a couple of them had. I didn’t want to have to deal with burnt out clutch or broken clutch cable, etc. A semi-auto just made sense, from an ease of mind and ease of use standpoint.
Nice
Prayers and well wishes to Dad and your family from New Jersey.
I replaced the carb on my Honda TRX250 4-Wheeler. To my great surprise, the new carb "cap" was a different size than the OEM carb cap that I planned to use. I needed to release the throttle cable from the OEM carb cap, But, that cable was fitted with a circular clip that squeezed down into the OEM carb cap and then released. It was a trapped clip. I could find no way to separate the throttle cable from the OEM carb cap. I hope that made sense. Have you ever encountered this? I ended up using a hack saw to cut the OEM carb cap to separate it from the throttle cable.
@@ChrisHiblerPinball No, I can’t say I’ve ever seen a cable that was “fixed” to the carb cap. But, I only mess with 50 year old stuff. Yours sounds like a real pain.
@@MiniBikeMike Thanks Mike.
Awesome video! Can't wait for the next one. I'm eager to see the racks you come up with. I've taken my icebear out in the woods and camped off it, but I haven't figured out the best way to haul my gear.
@@jhngix After working in the steel industry for nearly 40 years, my rack will be custom built to the bike…….and probably weigh a bunch more than is necessary. 🤣
@MiniBikeMike I can dig that!
Thanks for sharing your throttle cable spacer trick, great idea, and hair spray works great on new grip installation lets them slide on easy and they stay on really well and still can be easily removed with the air hose blower…
@@glennalexander1396 👍🏻
Great news Mike .
Brilliant idea on that carb spacer! If it works, it’s a great way to do it.
@@mikeb6431 Thanks Mike!
you got less snow than we did. I don't know if you noticed, but I added a rear hand brake lever to my ice bear. It is very handy. When you need to put on hand grips, Hair spray is very slick when wet and dries to a glue. Better than WD-40. Lastly, your turn signals on the front are very nice. I would suggest fog lights with yellow halo's. Wired (with a switch) directly to battery for fog lights. They work without the engine running AND the extra light at night is WONDERFUL while riding. If you make them flip over, they can be used as repair lights after dark. I know you don't plan to run at night. Few do. (Use halo rings as turn signals)
@@BenjaminLukacek We had 13” to 15” a few weeks ago. A few sunny and above freezing days has melted most of it. It should all be gone this weekend, we’re hitting close to 50°.

No need to apologize for the time you spend on your shout outs to the part supplier folks. To those of us who do a lot of wrenching on our projects, it’s all good information. Also, I agree whole heartedly with you on the advantages of the semi-auto clutch and the dual rear brake actuation by pedal and left hand lever.
